Smiling, Jersey flung open the castle door. A crisp breeze flew past, making Jersey, shiver, and pull her cloak closer to her. Reaching into her pocket, Jersey grabbed her gloves and scarf, both of which were Slytherian colors, for Jersey had been very proud of being a Slytherian. Putting on the 2 winter garments, Jersey brushed her hair out of her face Jersey quickly felt the wind picking up speed. The air become more frigid and Jersey watched as most of the kids who had been occupying the grounds, ran towards the door. Loud and noisy they were, as they ran inside the castle for warmth.
Jersey looked up at the sky, as once gray and daylite sky, started to cast a blackish color. Trudging through the snow, slow and steady, Jersey listened to the sound of her feet, as they hit the hard and nearly frozen snow, that had been left on the ground. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out her golden pocket watch and looked carefully at the time. "7:02." she read aloud to herself.
Placing the pocket watch back int's origin, Jersey took up the occupancy of a bench close by. With her body in a slouching posistion, Jersey pulled out a piece of parchment. Staring at it, Jersey began to think of what she was about to write. She had wanted to write to her sister, about all of her feelings, about feeling alone, and having no one. She wanted to tell her she didn't like how she had always been with Nicholas, and that she didn't like the idea of Nicholas moving in with them. However, Jersey found this quite hard to say. She had always been quite honest with Abigal, and her sister had always respected her opinion.
In the midst of her thought, out of nowhere, Jersey heard the whistling of the wind. Getting an eerie feeling, Jersey looked around the grounds, for someone to talk to, but everyone had gone in. Jersey shook her head, "Nothing is out here." Jersey said trying to stare at the paper yet again. After a brief moment, Jersey began to hum a tune in her head, 'this is where you want to be for writing this letter, the quiet outdoors, where you can concentrate.' she thought as she noticed her humming getting louder.

Cedric sat in the boys dormatorie reading a quidditch magazine. Turning the page Cedric looked up at the clock. "Man the time is not going by fast at all." Cedric said frowning. He had absolutley nothing to do. Cedric looked at the magazine for about anohter 3 minutes and looked back up at the clok. "Merlins beard. This is really starting to get anoying." Cedric said standing up. He threw the magazine on his bed and walked over to a chair and sat down. "There has to be something to do." Cedric said sitting there. Then it hit him, "Someone I know has to be outside." Cedric said standing straight up.
Walking over to his trunk Cedric put on his heavier robes and a black cloak with gree on the inside. The cloak dragged on the floor as he walked. He grabbed a pari of black gloves and walked out into the common room. The room was deserted. Cedric stood or a second and then walked out into the hallway.
Walking down the corridors Cedric noticed it was very quiet. It was so quiet you could hear the dragging of his cape. Cedric continued to walk down the corridors until he reached the oak doors at the front of the building. Just as he went to open them a crowd of people rushed inside almost trampiling him. "Watch it." he yelled as they passed. "Whats gotten into them." Cedric asked himself as he stepped outside.
Suddenly Cedric knew what they were running from. The wind howled through the trees and hit his face. His cheecks instantly turned red as the cold air made the blood rush to his face. Cedric took a few steps out into the snow nand looked around. He saw no one. "Great." he said. As he turned around he saw someone he knew sitting on a bench. Cedric walked over and sat down next to her. "Hey Jersey." Cedric said crossing his arms to stay warm. "What are you doing out in the cold?" Cedric said. Then he noticed the parchment. "Are you doing homework. If you are you must be mad."

Jersey stopped humming as she heard footsteps coming her way. Turning her head quickly in the direction of the footsteps, Jersey saw that Cedric had been walking her way. Jersey smiled and felt herself calming, with the presence of another person. Jersey watched as he took a seat next to her and asked what she had been doing out in the cold parchment. Forgetting for a moment about the parchment, which she had still held, she gave it a brief look and turned back to him. "I guess I should be asking you the same question." Jersey said with a smile. "I was planning on writing a well needed letter to my sister, but I just can't get the words to come out onto paper." Jersey said shrugging her shoulders.
Brushing her hair out of her face for the moment, Jersey spoke, "Has that ever happened to you? Where you've wanted to say so much to one person, but you just couldn't bear to tell them." Jersey took a pause then spoke again. "I mean, I can usually tell my sister everything, but this time is the hardest." Jersey looked back towards the parchment and spread a smile across her face, for she didn't want to bother her new friend with such nonsense. Jersey looked back towards Cedric. "Sorry for my rambling, I just have a lot on my mind." Jersey turned away and turned her attention on the now blackened sky above her, hoping for an answer to all her questions.

Cedric sat and listened to Jersey talk. "Well Jersey it looks like you have a better excuse to be out here then me. I was just bored off my butt so I came to see if anyone was out here." Cedric said smiling. For some reason he felt at ease around Jersey. Usually he felt like he needed to prove something when he was around other people. Cedric sat and listened to Jersey. "Actually yes." Cedric said looking at her. "I have one of those moments when I wanted to tell someone something but I just couldn't tell them." Cedric looked at the blackened sky and thought of that time.
It was just before he started Hogwarts. Cedric's dad wanted him to go to a different school. Cedric didn't want to go but was afraid to tell his dad. Luckily he couldn't get in anyway so he got to go to Hogwarts.
Suddenly Cedric snapped back into reality. He listened to Jersey as she talked about her sister and wanting to tell her something. "No it's fine. Ramble on." Cedric said smiling. When Jersey said she had alot on her mind Cedric looked at her and said "Well not to be nosie but do you want to talk about it? It will help get it off your mind and you can relax." Cedric looked at Jersey awaiting her decsision.

Jersey smiled, as Cedric seemed to show that he had actually cared about what was going in her life. Most Slytherians, expect for one or two, had only cared about themselves. They would definately listen to people's problems, but were they actually listening, Jersey doubted that. Jersey placed her hands between her crossed legs for warmth, and made herself as comfortable as the bench would allow. Turning towards Cedric Jersey smiled warmly. "I guess that would do me good, you know, talking it out to someone." Her smiled faded soon though as she thought of what she was going to tell him.
"Well, it's all about my sister. She has this no good boyfriend, who she is with everyday of her life. I feel like I'm always competing with him just for her to notice that I exhist. Everything is always Nicholas this and Nicholas that, and I hate it."
Jersey took a quick pause and then continued. "And you see, our grandmother is a crude women, and our parents our dead, so we have had to live with her for the past 10 or so years. It's been miserable, and just recently my sister finally moves out on her own, and tells me I can live with her, but Nicholas is gonna be there too. I've thought long and hard about it, and it's either going to a house full of hatred or going to a house and being ignored. I mean maybe I am overreacting but it's just all so much, and I am letting it all pile on me at once."
Jersey stopped and turned away. She felt a cold tear run down her face and onto her clock. Quickly feeling embarassed Jersey turned away from Cedric and rested her elbow on the arm of the bench, placing her head on her hand.

Cedric sat there and listened to Jerseys problems. Cedric felt important as Jersey spilled her heart out to him. Every moment of it it semed like Jersey seemed upset and angry at the way her life had turned out. After she had finished Cedric sat in silence for a moment thinking of everything she had gone over. Finally Cedric spoke looking at Jersey. "Well it seems to me you have some troubles. I will first start with your sister and her boyfreind."
Cedric looked down and then back at Jersey. "It seems to me you sound a little jealous. Im not trying to be mean but that's how it sounds. I think you should tell your sister how you feel. Also you should try to be freinds with Nicholas. Now about your living space. If worst come to worst and your sister still ignores you I think it would be better to live and be ignored than lived and be yelled at. I mean you turn of age in 1 year so you can move out then. Thats what I think you should do, but then again Im no therapist."
Cedric looked up at the sky and then back at Jersey. "It looks like there is alot of things going on in your life. The first thing you should do is tell your sister how you feel. That will help." Cedric said looking at her. That is the first time he had ever helped someone without being forced to. It felt strange to him. He didn't like the feeling of helping ussually made him mad, but for some reason he felt good helping Jersey. "So are there any other things that you want to tell me? A werewolf uncle or anything?" Cedric laughed.

Wiping her tears free, Jersey turned back towards Cedric and listened intently to his advice. After he finished Jersey sat in a daze taking all of it in. Jersey knew that she had been jealous of her sister and Nicholas's relationship, but she had never thought too much about it until now. Taking out the quill and ink Jersey began scribbling down all of her thoughts and feelings, all on one little peice of parchment. The letter read:
Dearest Abigal, I have not heard from you in quite awhile, and I feel that it's time that I tell you about what has been going on in my life. I first off want to say, and I am admitting this now with the help of a friend, that I am jealous of you and Nicholas's frienship. I seem to feel that you are all I have, for grandmother is worthless. However, with Nick around, I know that you do not feel the same about me, and that bothers me. I feel like you are slowly forgetting about me. I am very excited to be living with you, but are you even going to acknowledge I'm there. I know that if our arrangements do not work out, next year I will be of age, and be able to move out on my own.
I guess I just want to hear what you have to say about all of this, I want to know your feelings and thoughts, and since this can't be done in person, like it should be, this is the best thing to do. I want you to know that I love you and I hope that in no way this affects your relationship with Nicholas, for I am only stating my opinion. Please write back, as soon as you can.
Jersey smiled as she signed the letter, love always, and then handed it Cedric to view. Still smiling, Jersey spoke "Man, that felt good, getting everything out to you, and on paper. Plus your advice really made me see how things were with me and my sister."
Jersey stopped and laughed as Cedric had made a comment about Jersey having a werewolf uncle or something. Brushing her hair behind her ears, Jersey felt happy to have someone to talk to and you cares. "Honestly, I think I've told you my whole life story all in the past 5 minutes." Jersey said shrugging, "I have nothing left to hide." She gave Cedric a sly smile and stopped it at that.
"So Cedric, now that I have told you all of my problems, is there anything you feel like talking about while the subject is up and ready to go?" Jersey said with an enthusiastic tone.

Cedric sat there and watched as Jersey wrote the letter to her sister. Not wanting to be nosy he didn't read as she wrote but then she handed it to him to read. Cedric read it and then looked at Jersey. "Im glad to have been of help to you ma lady." Cedric said laughing. He never thought he would have ever said that to anyone. "Im really gald you wrote this letter. It's good for you to get it out and it shows maturity." Cedric said smililng at her. For some reason Cedric couldn't stop smiling. Cedric had never felt this good about helping someone before.
When she said she had told him her whole life story Cedric smiled and said "I don't think so. You left out that time you were 2 and you fell and scraped your knee." Cedric laughed and listened to her say she had nothing to hide. "Are you sure abot that?" he said raising an eyebrow "Everyone has something to hide." When she asked if there was something he wanted to talk about Cedric said "Yes there is actually. Those damn pixies, they keep putting rocks in my bed." Cedric started laughing at his joke.
Putting on a serious face he said "No seriously there is somthing I've wanted to talk about to someone. It's hard to find a relationship as a Slytherin." Cedric looked down then back at Jersey. "I mean it's getting close to valentines day and you see all of these couple around but as a slytherin none of the other houses will date you and it's hard to find a girl who's not a slytherin who meets my standards." Cedric frowned and then said "Nevermind. You don't want to hear me whine."

Jersey couldn't stop smiling, which was weird on her behalf, for most of her time spent, she had been miserable. As being a Slytherian Jersey felt like she couldn't show emotion to some people, because they might think of her otherwise if she did. She had known only two which she could be herself around, and Cedric had been one of them.
Jersey laughed playfully at all of Cedric's jokes. She had liked people who could make her have a good laugh. "Yeah because when I was 2, you knew what I was up to." Jersey said sarcastically. Silcence filled the air for a few moments, looking up at the sky, Jersey noticed the bright shine of the moon casting a light in their direction, and every so often the moon would become covered by the clouds. This leaving the area dark, and creepy again.
Jersey slid closer to Cedric, as she pretended to adjust herself, by lifting up her bottom and pretending to pull down her cloak, so that it was not all bunched up. Jersey listened as Cedric, said that he had had something that he had wanted to talk to someone about. Jersey listened, with a small dreamy smile on her face as he told her that valentine's day had been coming up, and that it has been so hard for a slytherian to meet the right girl.
Jersey, who had been sitting with her back slouched against the bench, sat dazingly as he talked, and upon his finishing she turned to him and smiled. "I really don't consider it whining, well I mean it could be to some people, but it's defiantely not to me. I thought that what you just said was the cutest thing any Slytherian boy had ever said. Most of them are so, stuck up in their own reality, believing that they are so mighty and powerful, and boy, is that ever annoying." By the time Jersey had finished speaking for the moment, she found that she had sped up her speaking. Catching her breath, she started up again. "Which, pretty much puts me in the same boat as you,." Jersey said smiling and staring deep into Cedric's eyes.

Cedric sat there and looked at Jersey with a smile. He could see a slight galze in her look and couldn't tell if he was boring her or if she was happy that he told her this. He watched her adjust her cloak and move closer. Did she do that on purpose? Cedric though looking at her. It seemed for the first time in a long time Cedric actually cared what someone else thought about him. He seemed nervous but yet calm. He found a connection with Jersey he hadn't found with anyone before. But for some reason he felt like he had felt this feling before. Then he remembered, the last time he felt like this is when he had is old girlfreind Alexa.
Cedric looked hapily at Jersey as the moonlight reflected off of her hair. Sudenly Cedric found himself thinking, Man she's beautiful. Cedric looked at her and said "Yeah I guess it's kinda cute. Ussually I don't show my emotions like this to anyone. If you walk up to me normally Im Cedric Wood the rock. It's wierd I just feel a conection with you." When she said that she was in the same bost as him Cedric looked at her and said "No way. Im sure you have plenty of offers from Slytherin guys." Cedric smiled at her and then just fell into a deep stare into her eyes.
Suddenly Cedric lost contro of himself. With the moon shining and the romantic atmosphere he coudln't help it. Moving closer to Jersey Cedric said "There is something else I want to tell you." Trying to stay clam he looked into her eyes and said "I don't know how to say this but Jersey...... I fancy you." Cedric looked at her for a moment and then felt like a fool. "Im sorry I shouldn't have said that." he said looking down. "It was foolish of me to think you'd want to hear that from an arrogant fool like me."

Jersey listened as Cedric said that he had been expressing emotions tonight, that he had never shared with anyone. Jersey brushed her hair behind her ears and listened as Cedric had said something about her probably having plenty of Slytherian boys chasing after her. Jersey smiled and thought of the boys she had wooed in her past. Having only one steady boyfriend named Nathan. Jersey remembered Nathan and the good memories they had shared. Her smile faded away quickly though as she thought of how he had cheated on her, and had broken her heart.
Looking back at Cedric, Jersey realized she had had a good chance ahead of her. Jersey froze as Cedric said that he had had something to tell her. Jersey had known what that was, and her stomach had had a million butterflies fluttering around.Looking dazingly into his eyes, she felt her heart beating faster and faster, as he said the words, 'I fancy you.' Jersey had known it was coming, but she had felt even more weirder than before. Jersey had not known what to say at that moment, but she listened as Cedric started to appologize.
Jersey looked away as she felt her cheeks turning red. Jersey was never one for the whole confrontation thing, but she had gotten through it before and she would get through it again. Taking a deep breath she turned in Cedric's direction and smiled. "Cedric," Jersey began in a soothing voice. "Please don't appologize, I would never first off, have ever thought of you as an arrogant fool, not now that I know you, for you." Jersey took a brave move and grabbed his hand and wrapped it up in hers. "Cedric, there is no one I would rather be here with tonight, than you. You are such a sweet person underneath all the Slytherian jibber jabber, and what I guess I'm trying to say, is that I feel the same way as you feel towards me." Jersey smiled warmly as she posistioned herself so that her whole body had been facing him.

Cedric watched as Jersey turned her head away. I knew it. I knew I shouldn't have told her. She doesn't even want to look at me now. Cedric thought frowning. His emotions had been a rollercoaster so far. First he was nervous and hopefull. Then with one look away his stomach dropped and he felt foolish and embarassed. The when she looked back at him Cedric felt hopeful again. When she said that she never would think him an arrogant fool Cedric couldn't help but think about how he was only like this when he was aorund her. Usually he was an arrogant Slytherin. Then he felt her grab his hands and say she felt the same way.
Cedric's heart jumped to the clouds. Trying to stay cool Cedric looked at her and said "Really? Im really happy that it turned out this way." Cedric let a big smile across his face and couldn't help but look into Jersey's eyes. Then he heard the sound of the school clock. It donged 11 o'clock. Cedric looked at the clock and then back at Jersey. "I think we need to go back to the common room." he said standing up but still holding her hands. "Come one we can talk as we walk. If you want we can stay in the common room for a while and talk to."

Jersey jumped at the sound of the clock, hitting 11. She stood up as Cedric had said that we should get back. "I would like that, you know talking in the common room." Jersey said flashing a cutsey smile. Still holding hands as the 2 of them walked back, Jersey felt her hip hitting his as they had been walking rather close. Blushing Jersey spoke, "Well, all in all, I am glad things turned out this way too. I mean who would've thought, I mean I just met you about a week ago, and look where we stand." Jersey said as she took her hair and brushed it carefully behind her ears. Jersey listened to the breaking of the silence of the outside, as a gust of wind flew by with a howl.
Taking her open hand, Jersey clung to her cloak bringing it closer to herself, in order to keep her warm. Jersey felt relieved, however, as they reached the door. Jersey let go of his hand as she insisted on opening the door, holding it for Cedric, she let him go first, and then as she walked in she could feel her cheeks turning a rosy red from the cold to the warmth. Jersey stood at the door, and took off her scarf and gloves, and placed them into her pocket. Then stood at the door, and froze smiling at Cedric.

"So would I." Cedric said smilling back at Jersey. As they began walking Cedric stayed close to Jersey. He felt their hips hitting each other but he didn't mind, he liked being this close to her. Cedric listened to Jersey talked. He loved the way her voice sounded. "Yeah I have to say a week ago I never would have thought that I would feel this way." Cedric said smiling at her. Looking at her face it looked like she was cold. Cedric was abot to offer his jacket but they reached the door to go inside. Just as he went to open the door he watched Jersey walk past and open it for him. Laughing Cedric walked in and waited for her.
Cedric saw her cheecks turn red from coming inside. Following Jerseys lead Cedric took off his gloves and smiled back. Then walking forward Cedric took her hand and started walking back to the common room. Trying to stay quiet Cedric said "So there is something I need to know. I never tecnichly asked you to be my girlfreind but are you? Or will you be?" Cedric continued to walk down the dark hallways holding Jerseys hand.

Jersey smiled as Cedric took her hand, and the 2 of them continued thier way up the steps. The silence of the castle was quite creepy, usually there would be echos, of kids' voices throughout the castle. As their walk back continued, Cedric proposed the question of whether she was his girlfriend, or not, or would she be. Jersey really didn't know what to say. She felt her stomach toss and turn as the butterflies fluttered dangerously around. She had enjoyed her time with him to an extreme, and she had loved being around him.
Jersey turned towards him, and smiled, "Honestly, Cedric, I would have thought that we would have waited awhile before this romantic 'thing' we have going on would turn out like this. But I mean I love being with you, and I mean I have only been in 1 serious relationship in my entire life, so if we commit to each other, as boyfriend and girlfriend, we're going to have to work together." Jersey said as she had realized how close they were to the common room.

Cedric listened as Jersey explained their situation to him. "Yeah I know what youre saying. I can't think of any other person I would rather be with. I've only been in one serious relationship and to tell you the truth it hurt at the end, but when Im with you I forget about that. I have no problem comitting to you." Cedric said stoping in front of the common room. "It's up to you though. You don't have to answer now if you don't want to. Im willing to wait." Cedric said smilling at her. Turning to the common room Cedric said the password and walked in holding Jersey's hand still.
Cedric walked over and sat down on a black leather couch next to the fire. Cedric looked at Jersey and waited for her to sit down. Cedric couldn't keep a smile off his face. This was one of the happiest he had ever been. Trying to get Jersey off the other subject Cedric said "So how did you get into quidditch?" Smiling Cedric thought about something. The girl he loved to be with was also his compettion for the keeper position. Smiling Cedric said "And just because I fancy you doesn't meen Im going to step it down in practice. I still want to get my starting position back."

Jersey was filled with happiness. She had loved the fact that he had completely understood. Jersey flashed a smile, and noticed that she couldn't exactly stop smiling. As she could tell, Cedric must've been going through the samething. Jersey felt herself laughing at this concept as the two of them sat down comfortable leather couch near the fire. The flames seemed to catch her eye that night like never before. She listened carefully to the crackling of the wood, in the silence of the common room.
Walking in, Jersey had noticed that the common room was empty, except for Cedric and herself. She didn't mind though, she liked being alone with him. He made her feel comfortable, like no other. Her attention that the fire grasped soon faded as Cedric turned to her, bringing up the quidditch subject. Jersey smiled, she knew that the two of them had both been keepers, and they were both fighting for the spot. She laughed at his comment, and then told him her story.
"Well, when I was younger, and my parents were still alive, my mother had always told me about her Quidditch days when she went to Hogwarts. She was a keeper also. Not til' this year, however, did I realize that I should try out in memory of her. I guess it's my way of knowing that for sure, my mother and father are proud of me wherever they are." Finishing, Jersey noticed that she had been looking at the ground, when she had started out, looking at Cedric. She dazed for a moment, and thought of how her mother must really feel about her start of Quidditch.
Coming back to reality, Jersey brought her head up, and brushed back her hair. "Oh don't worry," she said smiling, "I wouldn't expect you to not give your all. I want it to be fair and square, even if it does mean you starting instead of me." Jersey said teasingly towards Cedric.

Cedric smiled and listened to Jerseys story about how she started playing. Cedric smiled as she finished and said "That's pretty cool. Im the first in my family to start playing quidditch seriously." Cedric looked into the fire and then back at Jersey. He felt so comfortable when he was around her. For some reason he just felt like everything was great. Looking into Jerseys eyes Cedric smiled and said "Im really happy to know how we feel about each other." Leaning forward Cedric wrapped his arms around Jersey and layed his chin on her forehead. Picking his head up Cedric looked into her eyes.
"So what exactly do you plan on doing after school?" Cedric asked looking at her. He didn't really know anything they could talk about. With his arms still around Jersey Cedric leanded his head against the couch awaiting her response.
((OOC: sorry its so short. I couldn't think of anything.))
