Willow sat in the Great hall conversing and laughing with her fellow Hufflepuff classmates as she heard the clock ring. '10 o'clock.' the time registered in her mind. Willow quickly grabbed an apple, as she said her goodbyes to her friends and went off.
Her navy blue cloak flowed behind her as Willow went down the stairs of the castle to the outside north lawns. With a joyful smile she breathed in a breath of fresh morning air. Tossing the apple in her hand in front of her she caught it as it fell back down. After tossing it a few times Will took a bite out of the apple. *crunch* it sounded as Willow ate the apple.
A warm breeze fell over Willow as her cloak flew back in the wind. The sun was shining brightly as there was only a few clouds in the sky. 'The perfect Day.' Will thought as she walked acrossed the bridge. Towards the middle she stopped as a few people passed her. Walking towards the side of the bridge she looked over the valley of the two hills and over the Hogwarts lawns. with a smile Willow dropped her apple off the bridge. Watching it fall, it nearly took five seconds for it to hit bottom. Looking off over the hill in front of her she fell deep in thought as she crossed her arms and another warm breeze flew through her hair.
(( The Bridge was taken from the PoA movie. If you have seen it you know what I mean, if not.. im sorry.))

She had been sitting at the Hufflepuff table, just on theo ther side of Kim--a seat that seemed to become her regular one, whens he saw Willow get up and leave the table. She didn't really know the girl too well, but she did wonder where the girl was going.
She was planning on getting up and heading to the library anyway, so she followed the girl out of the Geat Hall. It seemed that she was going outside...She thought for a moment. Outside seemed a lot better than the library, so it only took her a moment to step out into the morning air. Even the air seemed magical at Hogwarts, she thought as she walked to the bridge.
"Hi" She managed to say, having to overcome a rush of shyness to do so.

Kiyla had left the great hall early to come out and think on the bridge. Why did I of all people have to be adopted, Kiyla thought to herself while looking at the view outside of the bridge. She had been wondering this all her life but as the days go be this thought seemed to be haunting her more and more. Being so deep in thought Kiyla almost jumped out her skin when she hear a second year hufflepuff talking to a fifth year. Kiyla, being as shy as she was, quickly tried to conceil herself from being seen but she had no place to hide to she decided to just star into space and think some more until someone noticed her. They won't notice me anyways. No one else ever does, Kiyla thought to herself sadly.

In a gaze Willow heard a voice speak to her. "Oh Hello there! You startled me." she said in a joyful tone. Willow reconized this girl from her house. She never was aquanted with her so Willow just smiled. "Im Willow Croft. How are you?" she said as she turned around and leaned up against the banaster of the bridge looking at the younger Hufflepuff.
While waiting for an answer Willow turned her head slightly to the right, where her eyes ended up on another girl. Leaning forward she saw who it was. Another youger Hufflepuff, but yet again she didnt know her name. "Hey, You, Huffie! Come and join us." Willow invited her with a smile. They were the only three on the bridge at that time, there was no need to leave anyone out.

She smiled, almost giving a sigh of relief at how happy and friendly Willow seemed to be. She was working so hard to be more outgoing and make friends, but she was so afraid that someone would not want to be friends with her...
"Hi Willow, I'm Nokomis Astarra." She replied, still smiling brightly as she stopped close to the older Hufflepuff. "I'g great, happy to be back here"
Hearing Willow meantion the other girl, she looked over her shoulder at the girl, and smiled--trying to be friendly and welcoming.
"Hi, I'm Nokomis, whats your name?"

Kiyla sighed as she heard the two other hufflepuff talking to some other girl. She turned her head to see who the girl was. Probably some popular, pretty chick, Kiyla thought with a groan. She looked around to see no one else on the bridge but her and the other two. She suddenly froze up when she realized that they were talking to her. She looked at them confused and checked around her again to see that they were actually talking to her. "Hi, I'm Nokomis, what's your name?" The younger girl said with a smile. They both were smiling so Kiyla thought that maybe she was the person they were talking to. "I'm Kiyla." Kiyla mumbled as she walked over there with her head down and hair covering her face feeling a mixture between nervousness and fear. Look lighten up, Kiy. You what friends don't you? Calm down. They aren't like those other girls. Not like them at all. This'll work if you give it a chance. Just give it a chance. Give friends a chance. Kiyla thought to herself as she stood in front of the two girls and lifted her head up slightly showing a little of her face. The thought almost brought tears to her eyes. She almost hit herself when she saw a tear drop hit the ground. She quickly wiped her tears away hoping the two girls wouldn't notice.

When Nokomis introduced herself. With Willows normal smile she grinned at her as the girl from a few feet away introduced herself. In a small mumble she said her name. "Kiyla, Hello." will said as she noticed the girl a little shy. trying not to make her any worse Willow smiled and said, "Im Willow Croft, Hufflepuff 5th year. We all are in the same house so I dont really know why I said my house." Willow rolled her eyes at her comment as she leaned back and put her elbows on the banaster of the bridge.
Speaking out Will said, "So what brings you all out now?" Willow asked as she looked back and forth from girl to girl. "For me I was done with my breakfast and I love the weather now. This is my favorite season. Between Summer and Fall." with a shrugg Willow looked toward her left off the bridge to the grass and a few flowers. "So many pretty colors now. Amazing what nature does to us." Willow said as the warmth from a breeze fell over the three. Pushing a few strands of hair out of her face she exhaled and looked back at the two. She noticed both seemed a tad bit shy. Willow was a very fibrant girl. She loved talking and meeting people. Willow was just a very friendly girl.

She blushed at the question. She was sure that Willow would think that her answer was strange. What kind of person followed someone else for no reason at all?
"Actually, I saw you come out here..." she started, looking away and down at the bridge
"And for some reason, I followed"
She shrugged slightly, looking back up at Willow
"But I like being outside anyway. I like the weather too"

Kiyla didn't say anything. She just listened to the two girls talk to each other. She was trying to keep herself together and it was getting harder now that the two girls had come. Kiyla came out of her trance when she heard Willow finish her sentence saying, ".....brings you all out now?" Kiyla looked over at the other girl who's name was Nokomis answer her question then they both seemed to be waiting for her reply. "Well, I was out here... well, um... I come out here to think." Kiyla said trying to string her words together. She was trying not to sound so choked up. Why do I always have to make myself cry, Kiyla thought to herself as another tear escaped her eyes and went dop the bridge of her nose and fell to the ground. She quickly wiped her eyes again while scolding herself. She could kick herself now. Kiyla took a deep breathe and let it out slowly and pledged to herself she wouldn't cry tonight. Not now, not tonight, not if she could help it. She looked up slightly hoping that they didn't notice. She hoped her face didn't show that she was crying because she moved her hair out her face and looked to her left out at the view.

Listening to Nokomis talk, Will rose her eyebrows. "You followed me?" laughing Willow shrugged it off as she thought to herself that most likely she just wanted someone to talk to. Turning to Kiyla she listened to her. Nodding to her answer she noticed a tear fall from her cheek. Willow's face shown a look of confusion. "Did I say something wrong? Why are you crying?" Willow asked as she turned her head to the left slightly to see Kiyla's face fully.

She too had looked over at Kiyla to see that the girl seemed to be upset--or so she guessed because of the tears slowly dripping down her face. She let Willow do the talking. She said what seemed to be fitting, but she wondered what was wong, and if they had someone how reminded her of something that made her so sad.

Kiyla felt the tears flow down her cheeks. She was trying to stop them but couldn't. She inhaled deeply and turned to Willow. "I'm sorry. You didn't say anything." Kiyla said her voice cracking. She willed herself to stop because she hated bring attention to herself. Wiping away her tears she gave Willow and Nokomis a weak smile. She could tell by the looks on their faces that they were concerned but she didn't dare tell them what was the matter. She hadn't even told Ivy, her best friend. She wanted to be invisable right now. Two complete strangers had seen her crying and she was humilitated. She wanted to run away and surprisingly enough she didn't. She looked over her shoulder and saw that she could if she wanted but looked over at Willow and Nokomis to see their concern and stayed put. She had gotten herself to stop crying but she wondered how long she would last. She swallowed her tears and sadness and tried to look happy and cheerful. The last thing she wanted to do was tell them what was really going on with her.

Still not knowing what made Kiyla so sad, she despratly wanted to make things better. She could still remember being shy enough so that everytime someone looked at her her face turned red, and she coudln't speak. She coudln't imagine how she could feel if she started crying.
She just stood there for a moment, as if trying to talk herself into something. She looked back to willow for a moment, giving her a small smile before stretching a hand out to Kiyla and clasping it around the third year's own. She hoped that the action would be at least some what comforting.
"Maybe we could all talk about our day?" She sugested. Hoping a change of topic might make things a little better.

Willow watched Kiyla force a smile through her frown. Willow wanted to hug the younger girl, but she decided it would have been to odd since they are strangers toward each other. Noticing Nokomis make a movement toward her Willow smiled. She didnt know why Kiyla was upset. She hoped to Merlin that she didnt do anything to make her uncomfortable.
Nokomis spoke up and changed the subject. With a nodd Willow thought it was a good enough subject. "Hey how about we get off this bridge, and sit down in the grass over there on the hill." Willow pointed to the opposite direction she looked earlier. Walking ahead of the two girls she walked off the wooden bridge. Walking into the open, Will sat herself down in a patch of grass. The spot looked over a meadow below with groves of trees. With a smile at the two Willow started. "My day was alright. Charms class was fun. I had Potions too, that was upsetting." Willow said with a slight bite of her lip. "But all together it was a good day." Will nodded as she left the air open for anyone to jump in.

Kiyla tried to smile at Nokomis but she was trying too hard not to cry. "Maybe we could talk about our day?" Nokomis had said. Kiyla's day had been horrible. It was the first day back for her and it was already bad. She wanted to burst out crying once more but regained her composure. Willow had sugested sitting on the hill so Kiyla and Nokomis followed. Kiyla sat down by Willow and said with a sigh, "Well Charms call was good for me but my Ancient Runes class was horrible. It was my first class and it started out bad."

Willoe watched as Kiyla sat down next to her. She spoke abotu Ancient Runes. "Oh My! I heard about that class. I was planning to sign up for it, but well.. I heard from a few older people How hard it was, so I didnt even attempt." Willow shook her head as she thought maybe that class was a reason why she was so upset. "My older friend Gram Tonavan. You both might know him, he is a 7th year in our house. Well he took the class and dropped out after today." Willow said showing everyone how hard the class was. "He is quite smart, and he couldnt take the class." Willow sounded.

"Yeah well at least he showed up on time," Kiyla mumbled to herself. Sure, the class was hard but she was mad because she arrived late and embarrassed herself. She wish she could drop out but it was too late now. "I don't know Gram." Kiyla said looking sad. "I don't really have any friends." Kiyla said lookign away from Willow.

Willow listened to the comment Kiyla made. "Ouch, harsh. Professor Vector doesnt like when people are late. I can only imagine." Willow said as she listedn to her other comment. "Well, One day in the common room when he is there I will introduce you two. He is like an older brother to me. He was nice to me when I first arrived to Hogwarts." Willow said with a nodd as she noticed Kiyla turn away from her. "He's nice. Very friendly." She said with a smile.

She had falent silent listening to Willow talk rather happily to Kiyla. She wished that she could sound understanding and friendly like that. She was getting better, and least she talked now, but it was always a struggle.
Kiyla made the comment over how she didn't have any real friends. That made her frown slightly. No friends? Of course, it wasn't that she was much different. She knew Kim, Ivy, and Jordan from the train ride here, but they weren't really friends. The only one close was a Gryffindor she had met in Diagon Alley a few days before school started....
"I don't really have friends either" She finally said, hoping that would make the other girl feel better

Kiyla looked at Nokomis feeling a deep connection. She smiled a little and said, "You have me." Kiyla felt a little better about herself but she still didn't feel all that better. Kiyla felt a pang of guilt for making herself sound like this lonely girl that no one likes. It's true but Kiyla does only have on friend, Ivy, and she knew her and that was her best and only friend. She wanted to hug Nokomis because she looked sort of downcast, but stayed put and put a friendly hand on her shoulder and gave it a reassuring squezze. "Thing'll get better soon.... not only for me but for you too." Kiyla said softly to Nokomis.
