Jordan looked at Kiyla then at Perseus...
"Life. Anyway I think being a mad scientist is wicked. Heh, cant wait to see it." Jordan said, surprised that a Slytherin was even looking at her. She shrugged and turned to Kiyla.

((Hope you don't mind me intruding - it does say it's for 'anyone' so I'm taking it as an open invatation. )) Ivy looked longingly out of the window at the darkening sky. It was streaked with orange, red and gold and outside was just looking so inviting at the moment. Mind you, anything looked inviting when you'd got an essay for the next day which you still hadn't finished. Ivy sighed. She just couldn't concentrate any more. She pushed aside the piece of work, knowing that she would have to think up some excuse for the failure to hand her work in on time. At least it wasn't Potions, she thought gloomily. "Well, I might as well do what I want to do now," Ivy muttered to herself, dumping everything in her bag and flinging it aside. Why did she get violent when she was so awfully bored? she wondered irritably. Ivy looked around the Common Room, but anyone she might have wanted to talk to was already engaged in conversation. Sighing, she pushed open the door. "A bit of fresh air and you'll calm down," she told herself. She walked briskly down and outside. The air was cool. She liked it. It was cooling her temper. Now what? Ivy spotted a group of people who seemed to be having a conversation on the grass. They didn't look like a lot of Slytherins, and some of them looked to be about her age. On an impulse she set off towards them. As she neared she saw Jordan, and an older Gryffindor... and was that a Slytherin? Ivy almost turned back on instinct. She'd had enough unpleasant encounters to teach her to steer clear of Slytherins. But a new sort of curiosity rose within her, and she continued to stroll towards the group. Surely the Slytherin couldn't be that bad if Jordan was talking to him? "Hi," she said, as she arrived, addressing herself mainly to Jordan. She noticed Kiyla sitting there too, who before had been obscured by the Slytherin. Who was the Slytherin, that he wasn't turning his nose up to be talking to a pair of Hufflepuffs younger than him and a Gryffindor his age? Ivy thought about it and decided that interesting as the concept was, the immediate thing she could notice here was the fact that Kiyla looked unhappy. Why though? Ivy smiled at Kiyla, a private smile between the two of them that she knew would convey her question to the girl who knew her best.

Jordan turned to Ivy and smiled.
"Hey! Join the party! Even thought it is a little boring." She said smiling. Her and Ivy were friends but not close friends. Jordan hated not being close friends with someone so cool. She smiled and patted the seat next to her.

Ivy smiled warmly at Jordan and took the proffered seat. She liked Jordan, but still wasn't all that good friends with her. She guessed they had quite different personalities, but if they worked at it they ought to get to be better friends.
"What makes you say it's boring?" Ivy asked, looking around at the assembled group. "Surely it can't be with you lot here? What were you talking about anyway?"

Jordan squealed like a little girl and laughed.
"The ball. Are you going with anyone?" She asked Ivy. Her smile widening with everyword she spoke.

Ivy's face fell a little as Jordan mentioned the Halloween ball. She hadn't got anyone to go with so to be honest she thought it would be a bit stupid to turn up.
"Na, I haven't got anyone to go with," Ivy said. "I doubt anyone'd exactly want to go with me anyway. So I'll probably end up not going at all." She hadn't intended to admit that last sentence, but she'd done it now, and there was no going back. Ivy looked away, down at the ground and her shoes.

Jordan's jaw dropped and she shook her head.
"Ivy you have to go! If you want you can hang out with me! It will be so much fun! We'll dance and have a good time, and I hear theres going to be a prank pulled. But, that might just be a rumor." Jordan said with a sly smile. She pulled out her notebook from her bag and a pencil, then started to draw Ivy. She darkened around the areas where her shadows were and smudged where her skin looked soft. She darkened her eyes and drew thin lines. She looked back up at Ivy and smiled again, this time with confidence.
"You have to come, please come." She pleaded.

Kiyla sat and listened quietly to the conversation as it grogressed. Ivy soon showed up and before her a Slytherin. Kiyla sat quietly listening to the conversation when Ivy said that she wasn't going to the dance.
"I'm not either so don't feel bad. But you shoud go! I bet there's tons of guys wanting you to go." Kiyla said with a smile then turned away again.
Kiyla had already made up her mind. She wasn't going. She had no point. No purpose.

Jordan's jaw dropped.
"Kiyla you are going! EVen if I have to kidnap you!" Jordan said with a slight laugh she turned to Kiyla.
"C'mon please go. It would make someone I know very very happy." Jordan said with a smile. She looked at Kiyla intensely, hoping this would get her attention.

Kiyla sighed.
"Whatever. There is no point in me going. I don't belong here." Kiyla sighed again.
Why does she care? She don't even know me so why should she care? Kiyla thought annoyed as she kept her back to Jordan. She knew she was being unreasonable and rude but she didn't care.

Jordan sighed and shook her head as she gathered her things, she placed them lightly in her bag but left the candy out.
"Alright. I have to go do this...thing. It was nice meeting you Perseus. Kiyla, talk to you later? Ivy, see you around. Justin, well, we'll run into each other sooner or later. Peace peoples." Jordan, threw the strap over her shoulder and walked away, her mind racing with a thousand words.

Kiyla felt really bad. She was being so mean to Jordan and for what? She didn't know. She wanted to tell her to come back. She wanted to tell her she was sorry. She wanted to but she didn't. She stayed where she was and said, "I am such an idiot."
She watched Jordan walk away looking mad.

Ivy said nothing as Jordan said she could come with her. Well, if Jordan didn't have anyone to go with, then that wasn't so bad. The prank sounded... interesting. She wasn't exactly a mischief-loving person, but as long as the prank didn't involve her it would probably be OK. She smiled at Jordan in consent.
Kiyla told her there were probably loads of guys waiting to go with her. 'Yeah right', Ivy thought bitterly to herself. 'As if.' But she had made up her mind she was going. With or without a date. She might as well.
Kiyla had said she wasn't going to go though, and soon there was tension between her and Jordan. Ivy hadn't really noticed it before. Maybe it wasn't usually there. Kiyla just looked as if she was feeling irritable today. After a while Kiyla said something that was very rude for her, and Ivy looked at her in concern.
Jordan wished everyone goodbye, and Ivy looked up at her, forcing herself to smile. She watched Jordan walk away, and looked back to Kiyla. Kiyla looked even more unhappy now. What was the matter? Surely it wasn't all because she'd made Jordan go away?

Kiyla felt so miserable. She wasn't exactly sure what was up with her but she wasn't feeling good at all. Kiyla looked at Ivy and instantly regreted it. Ivy looked a cross between confused and shocked. Kiyla wanted to yell out, "What?!" but she bit it back. She merly sighed once more.
"Look, I'm sorry." She wasn't saying it to anyone in particular just to everyone. She felt miserable and irritable and mad. She wanted to go but was too tired to annoyed.

((Oops, kinda forgot I was in this post! ) Ivy looked at Kiyla, certain that the concern must be showing on her face. But she couldn't exactly just force it away. "No need," she said, "I think we're all a bit harrowed at the moment. I'm going to turn in now. Coming, Kiyla?" Ivy stood up from her grassy seat, brushing the grass off her clothes. 'Just as well you don't have hayfever,' she thought to herself. It was getting slightly chilly now, and Ivy was glad she'd said she was going in.

Kiyla nodded and smiled slightly despite her bad mood. She saw Ivy shiver and looked down at her robes and remembered that Justin gave her a jacket to wear. She smiled a little at him the she got up and folloed Ivy into the building.

Ivy said goodbye to Justin and Perseus and turned away, walking back to the castle. Kiyla soon caught up with her, and Ivy turned to her, smiling a little. She didn't want Kiyla to be in a bad mood, and she hoped Kiyla would feel better soon.
