Jordan picked up a smooth soft pebble and turned it over in her hands coutless times before skipping it across the lake. She sighed as it skipped three times and then sank down into the bottom of the lake. Sitting down on the bank of the water, Jordan looked out across the clear blue night. Jordan had, had very bad day and the least she needed was to be alone, but she really had no choice at all. All her friends were either busy with studies or busy with other friends.
Jordan knew she should have been doing her studies too, but it just wasnt the same if you did them alone. So, instead, Jordan resorted to paying the lake a visit and spending some quality time with her sketching. Pretty soon, Jordan would have to buy a new sketchbook, this she was aware of. Her old one was falling apart and it was nearly full. She would have to send for some more supplies, she was running short. BUt, this was nothing new at all, Jordan always ran out of art supplies. She was constantly drawing or dooling during classes and during her spare time. She was the artist of Hufflepuff. Everyone knew this, but Jordan didn't believe her ar twas that good. Now, Parvati Patil, now there'ssomeone with artistic talent! It was a shame Jordan hadn't met Parvati yet, she thought there were some things they could talk about.
'Yeah right, Jordan' she thought. Joran sighed again and pulled out her sketch book, flipping through the pages with ease.Jordan hand't been feeling like herself lately. She wasn't as joyful and happy and outgoing as she normally was. Something had happened and it had affected Jordan greatly. She flipped past a page and out fluttered an envelope. She swiped it up, and read the contents with trembling fingers.
'Jordan,
Something terrible has happened and I don't know if I should tell you because, I am afraid of you getting hurt. But either way you will find out eventually. Mum has left a few things to you, that you were to recieve when she...passed away. Among these things were her precious perals and rubies which I have sent to you. Mum was a wonderful woman, and so are you, she will be proud of you.
Love,
Chris.'
Jordan remembered earlier that morning when she had recieved the letter. Se couldn't take it. She missed all her classes and stayed cooped up in her dorm. There had been jewelry with it, jewelry that hs ehad in her shoulder bag right that moment. She opened the flap of her bag and withdrew the rubies and pearls. Tears fell from her eyes. Jordan didn't cry in front of other people. Which made her very happy that she was alone. Or so she thought, until she heard a twig snap in the distance. She gasped and turned in the direction fo the noise.
"Who's there?" She called out, not bothering to wipe her tears from her eyes.
