Amelia sighed happily and wiped the sweat from her forehead. The sun beat down on her as the afternoon progressed. She took off her robe, put it on the grass and placed her tie next to it. Next to come off was her shoes and socks. she smiled, standing at the waters ledge in her white shirt and gray plad skirt. She then dived and swam around, avoiding the Giant Squid as he scared her.
She had told Nokomis to meet her here. Hoping that she would come soon, Amelia swam with ease. she sighed and laid on her back, drifting through the water. Thanking God that trees surrounded her, she continued her little swim, waiting for Nokomis.

After charms class that day, she stopped by the Hufflepuff Common room only long enough to drop her books on her bed before she took off for the lake. Amelia had told her at dinner the night before to meet her here. She has so excited at her friends offer. They hd barely seen eachoter since schol started, and Amelia was her first real friend.
Now, she trotted across the grass toward the lake, though she was suprised not to see Amelia standing on the shore...she was sure the other girl would be here by now. That was when se noticed the robe ont he ground next to a pair of shoes, and after hearing some splashing, she looked up to see a blonde headed girl in the water
"Amelia! What are you doing?"

Amelia jumped and looked around to see Nokomis on the shore of the Lake. Amelia laughed when Nokomis asked what she was doing.
"I'm taking a swim while I wait, what's it look like!" Amelia had known Nokomis long enough for her to know that Amelia was only joking. Amelai swam to the shore and got out, she didn't really care that her shirt went completely see-through. She just picked up her robe, shivering, and put it on, hiding her shirt from veiw. her skirt was sticking to her and Amelia laughed at the look on Nokomis' face. she started to jump and down in excitment.
"NOKOMIS GUESS WHAT!" she yelled, suddenly excited to tell her the awsome news.

She watched Ameila start to come out of the water, still in shock that her frined would swim, no only when it was this cold out, but in her uniform even.
The mood was catching and she grinned, and started to fidget too, feeling like she was on the verge of hearing something extremely wonderful and important.
"What? I can't guess! Tell me!"

"I GOT CHASER!" she smiled, knowing Nokomis would understand. She had told Nokomis about wanting so badly to get the team. Only Keeper was open and she had been Keeper for a while. But a Chaser opened up and Harry personaly asked her.
"Can you believe it! The position opened up a few days ago!" she smiled broadly.

She grinned brightly at her friend
"Really? Your a chaser? That means we both are!"
She laughed and jumped up and down. Now it would be great for them to pratice together sometime, they would both need to work on the same skills.
"Have you had a house pratice yet?"

Amelia stopped jumping, panting. She smiled brightly still.
"Nope, i don't think we are. Thats what Harry said anyway," she smiled, "yeah when i tried out, i said i wanted Chaser, but it wasn't open so Harry said that when it opened up i would be the first he asked. So I took Keeper untill Chaser opened up," she smiled and started to jump again
"AND IT DID!" she knew how silly they must look at other students on the Grounds, but Amelia didn't care, she was too excited.

She laughed with Ameila, happy that her frind had gotten what she wanted.
"Thats so great! Does your team have another keeper now?"
She knew that Ron played keeper last year, and it seemed strange that he would't play this year...maybe he had changed his mind though.

Amelia nodded.
"Uh huh, he's back on Keeper!" she smiled largly and sat down, pulling Nokomis with her in a playful way.
"So what's been up?" she smiled, "Other than the sky!" she laughed at the Muggle saying.

She laughed happily. She was so use to the muggle world, she liked hearing the familiar sayings. It made her feel more at home, even though she wouldn't give up the wizarding world for anything.
"Hufflepuff had a quidditch pratice"
It was the first time she had ever played the wizard sport like that. When she was alone she just played with an old soccer ball and her broom.
"And I didn't mess up or anything"

Amelia smiled. Nokomis was an awsome friend. She understood everything.
"That's cool!" Amelia said truthfully, "I love Quidditch!" she winked.
"You didn't mess up, eh?" she laughed and tilted her head, "wow!" she laughed, "I'm just kidding,"

She laughed and nodded in agreement to Amelia's quidditch comment. She coudln't agree more.
"I love Quidditch too. It is one of the best things in the entire word, and I wish I never had to get off my broom"
She replied, laughing after. Considering a year ago she didn't know what quidditch was, her life now almost revolved around it.
"I was better than I thought I would be. I even intercepted the quaffle more than once!"

Amelia clapped and then took out her wand, shivering too much. She waved it once and a jet of hot air shot out of the wand tip and she was dry again. She sighed and started to walk back to the castle.
"Come on!" she said over he shoulder at Nokomis, "It's way too cold to stay out here,"

She grinned at Amelia as she started to dry herself. It was starting to get cold at Hogwarts. Her smile became even bigger when Amelia meantioned going back to the castle. It was great to be outside, bit when the weather was this chilly, she liked to be inside where it was warm. She never was a big fan of cold tempratures.
"Definatly"
She started to walk towards Amelia, but it was only a moment before she started to run.
"Beat you there"

Amelia's jaw dropped and she speed faster to try and beat Nokomis, laughing shrilly along with NOkomis. Her smile was raidant and her face bright. Her laughter wa sloud when she stopped and looked around to see if she won.

The two gils reached the castle steps at almost the same time, and once Nokomis pushed the door open and made it inside, she let herself fall to the groud in a heap while she tried to catch her breath while still laughing.
"I think we should learn to hibernate. I would love to sleep all winter and never know its cold out."
