Kris got out of detention – writing essays for McGonagall wasn’t very difficult as Kris knew what the professor wanted to see in them and even though Kris wasn’t present in the class every time, Transfiguration was his best subject so the essays really weren’t hard at all. They were just time-consuming and rather irritating to write. When McGonagall finally dismissed Kris, he slung his bag over his shoulder and picked up his cloak, even though he didn’t wear it. Not bothering to say something to the professor, Kris just left the classroom.
Scowling at some first year was seemed as if she didn’t know how to get out of Kris’s way, Kris walked towards the courtyard. He could use a small break and some fresh air – the castle seemed almost suffocating at times. “You, take these to the common room and they better be on an armchair in front of the fire when I get there,” Kris commanded as he handed his cloak and bag to a second year Slytherin. It took one glance to Kris’s face for the second year Slytherin to take the things and run off towards the dungeons.
Biting into an apple he had taken from his bag before the kid took them away, Kris stalked towards the courtyard. It was still light outside so Kris lazily moved towards a bench positioned in the sun. Stopping in front of the bench Kris looked at the two girls sitting there – Hufflepuffs most probably – and arched an eye-brow. “Don’t you know you should move out of the way when someone like me – your senior as well as a SLytherin comes over?” the girls froze but didn’t move, making Kris roll his eyes mentally, “Booh!”
The girls yelped and know they seemed to understand Kris’s point as they jumped to their feet and grabbing their things sped off towards the castle. “This school gets worse by days,” Kris muttered darkly sitting on the bench that had been freed and stretching his legs so they were resting on the ledge of a fountain near-by. Closing his eyes Kris leaned his head back wondering almost lazily that he should maybe start revising for O.W.L.s sometime, but didn’t particularly care about it.

Aden walked the corridors with a triumphant smile on his face. During his 2nd year he had discovered the door to the kitchens and how to enter them. People had told him that there was only one entrance into the kitchens. But Aden didn’t believe them. There was no way that a place in Hogwarts had only one entrance. It had taken him 3 years to find it, but find it he did. A secrete passage that lead straight to the kitchens. He wondered if even those dreadful Weasley twins had found this particular passage. Probably not because even the filthy house elfs had jumped in surprise when Aden popped out of a hole that had mysteriously formed in the ground. They had, like always, acted just like house elfs are supposed to and they rushed him to serve him. But Aden hadn’t been in the mood to deal with house elfs so he had grabbed himself a small cake and than left the kitchens Via the main door.
The halls today were suspiciously crowded with kids. He kept one hand in his pocket, loosely fingering his wand just incase some mudblood decided not to move out of his way and touched him. Aden couldn’t stand being inside the walls much longer surrounded by this many mudbloods. Luckily he was just passing by the doors that lead to the courtyard and he exited the halls and stepped outside. He looked around. This was much better, there was students out here also, but they were in scattered little packs. Aden spotted a group of Hufflepuff girls sitting on a bench. Aden pulled out his wand. It was time for them to give up that bench. But someone beat him to it. Another Slytherin by the looks of it had approached the bench. And shortly after the Hufflepuff girls had taken off.
They had started to run in Aden’s direction. But something about the fact of seeing another 5th year Slytherin, wand out and arms crossed in front of his chest seemed to frighten them as they changed direction yet again and took off into the castle. Chuckling Aden turned to the bench to see who it had been and recognized his dorm mate immediately. Kris Graas. Even though Aden shared a dorm with him he had never exactly spoken much to Kris. They had had a few tiny conversations, mostly about homework and the like, but that’s was about it. Aden approached Kris, a smirk on his face. “Kris Graas, terrorizing the mudbloods as usual I see. Stealing all of my fun.”
Kris lounged on the bench, enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine. Kris loved winter and didn’t mind a little cold – he was probably one of the only Slytherins who didn’t mind being in the rather chilly Slytherin common room on only a T-shirt even during winter-months. At winter the thick stone-walls seemed to turn the room even more icier, so the common room wasn’t filled very often, as even a huge fire didn’t really warm the room. Yes, Kris most certainly liked cold. But right now the sun was nice as well.
Hearing a small snap of a twig under someone’s foot Kris tensed. Calculating the people who would dare to approach a lounging Slytherin and an older one on top of that, Kris crossed younger students and Hufflepuffs from his list immediately. Gryffindors wouldn’t approach either. That left only some older Ravenclaw or a Slytherin. “Kris Graas, terrorizing the mudbloods as usual I see. Stealing all of my fun.” a cold voice addressed Kris, and Kris felt a smirk appear on his face. “Aden McGrogan,” Kris’s eyes opened slowly – Aden was strong enough and sly enough in need to not be underestimated, even though Kris didn’t reach for his wand – he had shared dorm with this guy for five years and had exchanged some phrases, but nothing more.
“Stealing your fun? You must have a weird understanding of fun then. Hufflepuffs are pathetic – not even the slightest challenge to scare them,” Kris answered in a matching tone shifting a bit to get a clear view to Aden, without moving much, “And we are forced to share a school with them. Absolutely shameful.”
Kris looked at Aden calmly, silently wondering what had brought on the conversation today, but not really minding. Someone fitting to Kris’s social standards wto talk to wouldn’t be bad at all today.

Aden had to nod in agreement with Kris' statement. "Yes, it is very shamefull. Hufflepuff's are pathetic, and that patheticness is only surpassed by those Gryffindors." Kris did have a point. Hufflepuffs were much to easy to scare and therefore provided hardly any sport at all, but one always gets the need to blow off some steam on something extremely pathetic. Hufflepuffs, expecially first to third years, were the perfect targets. Aden smirked as he glanced around the courtyard and met the eyes of many students, huddled up in clusters as they looked at Kris and Aden with worried eyes. "Yea, nowadays it isnt much of a challenge to scare them nowadays. We broke the students in our own year during our first and second year, and incoming first years. Well, their just a lost cause."
He snorted in disgust as he thought of the pitifull creatures being enrolled in this school year after year. Aden also noted, with disatisfaction, that even the mighty house of Slytherin was slowly starting to deteriorate. With ever passing year the quality of the Slytherin students was beginning to diminish. Not to mention the number of Pureblood wizards was also at a all time low. He snorted again as he thought of the sick practice of marrying into muggle families to create those half breed freaks.
He sighed. "It's extremely hard to find good quality wizard material now a days. All those disgracing are going out and finding muggle spouses that go on to create half bloods. Half bloods shouldnt have the privelage of going to school with the true wizards. They shouldnt even be allowed to learn the way of wizards. As if half bloods arent bad enough, that Dumbledore will allow even a muggle born enter this school. It's absolutly disgusting."

“At least Gryffindors sometimes try to show some character, making them a little bit more amusing than Hufflepuffs. But then again – that makes Gryffindors all the more annoying as well,” Kris mused calmly following Aden’s glance around the courtyard. One older Slytherin made people wary. If there were two of them together, then people were already scared. Kris smirked maliciously at two first year girls, making them jump and hastily retreat somewhere. “The only house that sometimes gives more or less normal persons outside Slytherin is Ravenclaw. At least they can think some of the time,” Kris sneered at the thought of the rest of the student body.
Kris listened to what Aden spoke of half-bloods and thought about it for a moment. “I must agree with you about most half-bloods. Marrying a muggle – what could be more horrifying? But I have a cousin in this school. A half-blood. The grand-daughter of Meredith and Julien Graas – I’m sure you’ve heard of them. So she has centuries of good pure-blooded family behind her, except her foolish mother ran off with a muggle. And she is still raised by Mereidth and Julien and will one day inherit all of their wealth,” Kris said calmly. Slytherins knew about wealthy and powerful families – it was taught to them ever since they were born. And in France and Italy Meredith and Julien were the most important branch, with Julien going to be the next Minister of Magic in France. With such back-ground, not even most Slytherins dared to get too against Kris’s cousin so it was a rather problematic situation.
“Disgusting? Dumbeldore’s choice of DADA professors is disgusting. Making that half-giant freak a professor even more pathetic,“ Kris said with loathing evident in his voice.

Aden couldnt help but have to agree with Kris. Gryffindors did provide much more of a challenge than any other house. Most likely because they were so noble in what they believed in. This did provide him with some amuesment, but ultimately it just became annoying. "Yes, but unfortunatly not even the Gryffindors are what they used to be. Year after year they just get easier and easier. I fear that at this rate when I graduate I'm going to be extremely rusty due to lack of challenges." Aden found himself having to agree with Kris once again as he mentioned the Ravenclaws. That house did seem to produce some decent wizard, but the house was still defective in its own way. Allowing half bloods into its mists.
Kris than mentioned his cousin. Dana, Aden had seen her around the school. Had attended classes with her. He knew all about her family. The fact that she had a strong pureblood line and was currently being raised by purebloods didnt make her a completely lost cause. Aden probably wouldnt be speaking with her on even terms much. She was still, only a half blood. He looked at Kris. "Yes, I am aware of them and their family line. Very strong and wealthy indeed."
Aden couldnt help but chuckle as Kris mentioned the DADA professors. "Ah yes, those were a bunch of bumbling fools. Do you remember the professor from our first year? That Gilderoy Lockheart? Ha! He was the biggest joke if I've ever seen one. You would think Dumbledore would be able to get one thing right by now. Now hes gone and placed that young thing in charge of the subject. I'd be surprised if she has even ad the chance to use any of the knowledge she teaches in reall life."

Kris absorbed Aden’s answer about Dana and analyzed the answer in his head, even though none of it showed on Kris’s face. Kris dispised Gryffindors with their reckless thoughtlessness and getting away with everything. Especially that boy-who-just-wouldn’t-die. He was a complete pet for that senile Head-master. Kris most certainly would not help them in anyway. He wouldn’t join Death Eaters ranks either, but helping Potter… Kris had to forcefully suppress a shudder at the mere of thought of it.
“Lockheart was unbelievable. I was ‘accidentally’ misdirected my spell and torched one of his portraits. The guy broke down in tears,” Kris half-closed his eyes, enjoying the memory, “Maybe all those whitening spells he used on his teeth got to his brain? If he even had one to start with.”
Listening to Aden’s comment about the last DADA professor, Kris had to agree with him. The teacher was too young to have had enough practice. And theory didn’t teach how to cast spells and hexes in real life. Maybe that was why almost all Slytherins and some Ravenclaws learned spell-casting on their own.
“Moody last year knew a bit more about the subject. At least he showed us the curses for real and taught us to cast hexes on our feet,” Kris said. He knew some of the things that had been circling the castle after the Wonder-kid came back with Cedric’s dead body. And the fact that Moody had turned Malfoy into a ferret had brought embarrassment to the whole house. Even though Malfoy should have known better – being the teacher’s pet as Potter was, meant there was always some professor close by to protect and pamper him. But at least Moody had been a more-or-less normal professor.

Aden coudn't help but laugh. He to had also taken shots at Lockheart's portraits. The only good quality about them was you could shoot one down, and two more would take its place. They were targets that would not die out. "Yes, the only thing Lockheart provided was good target practice."
Aden thought back to Moody. Yes Moody had been one of the few professors who actually deserved respect in that subject. That werewolf Lupin hadn't been that bad either. Lupin had given them hands on lessons, great experiance. And Moody seemed to concentrate on the illegal spells, making for a very interesting lesson. "Yes, Moody actually seemed to be a good candidate for the job. I guess not even Dumbledore can make completly idiot choices all the time."

Kris smirked in reply as Aden agreed about Lockhart being excellent for target practice. Even though the man was worthless sin anything else. Wasn’t he in St.Mungo’s now? Kris didn’t really know nor care. “Dumbeldore is a senile old fool. Everybody worth it – meaning Slytherins and a couple of selected Ravenclaws – are forced to learn the necessary skills themselves. One professor coming close to being normal doesn’t justify 5 incompetent fools.”
Kris arched an eye-brow towards a younger boy glaring at him – probably because he hadn’t showed much respect towards Dumdeldore. Feeling lazy enough Kris sent a couple of pebbles flying towards the kid who printed towards the castle with yells and leaned back on the bench: “They really shouldn’t let just anyone enter the school. At least Slytherins are pure-blooded, but some of them and their ideas are just outrageous.”
Aden looked up at the sky. "Yes, Dumbledore should be removed ASAP and someone more qualified, with the right views, should take over." Aden looked down as Kris sent a boy running. Aden chuckled at the sight. How easy it is nowadays. he thought to himself.
"Yes, the pure-blood thing is the only thing going for the Slytherin house. The newer students are beginning to ge a big chummy with the muggle population." He glanced at Kris. "As do a few older students as well." He added.

“It’s unfortunate, that Dumbeldore didn’t stay away from the school from last year. Umbridge was an old banshee, but she might have had some uses,” Kris stated slowly – he hadn’t been in the Inqvisitors squad, but Umbridge had kept those buffoons of Gryffindor a bit more in the lines. “But certainly we can talk about something better than those... unworthy of their position,” Kris stated with an arch of his eye-brow.
It was only when Aden mentioned the younger students being too friendly with other houses and mudbloods did Kris’s face harden. The level of the rest of the school had gone down a long time ago, but Slytherin had managed to keep it’s values at least until now. “It is absolutely despicable. Broke up a meeting between a third year Slytherin and an older Hufflepuff in Hogsmeade the other day. And all those people friends with Gryffindors of all people?” Kris sneered angrily – he could live with friends from Ravenclaw, as that house had brains and sometimes even worthy bloodlines, “The fourth years are more or less alright and I do know a proper third year, but the rest of them... Can’t really recall anyone worth being called a true Slytherin with correct values from that bunch – it’s a disgrace to the whole house!”
