Kris was lounging on a bench in the courtyard carving a small wooden figurine while listening half-heartedly to her cousin –a fifth year Ravenclaw who was reading her Transfiguration notes out loud as she revised for the OWLs coming in less than a month. Something of the notes might actually stick with him as well – if he hadn’t already known them, Kris thought with a lazy smirk. Transfiguration was his best subject.
“Transfiguration is an ancient magic and one of the mos famous witch ever done many successful transformation was Circe, who successfully turned men to pigs while living in the Greek island Aeaea,” Kris cousin stated. “Weren’t there monkeys and donkeys as well?” Kris asked not glancing up from his carving, while some shuffling of papers sounded before an answer: “I though there were those as well. But it doesn’t mention it here. Anyway, I’m going to get something to eat from the kitchens. I’ll see you tonight?”
Kris just made an agreeing noise as the fifth year girl threw her legs on the ground and stood up pulling her bag onto her shoulder and waving bye walked off. Blowing on the small figurine of a fox – Kris was done with the body, only the head was still to do – Kris grinned. The sun was warming and the weather great for once. Brushing a small piece of wood away form his black T-shirt he was wearing, Kris continued to carve the piece of wood in his hand, not bothering to really move himself.

Maddie had just come out of Charms, her last class for now because she had a free period. So, she thought she would take a walk around the grounds. She walked for a while and stopped in the Courtyard to rest awhile before going back inside. When she reached the Courtyard, she spotted one of her housemates.
She walked over and took a seat next to him and said, "Hey! What ya doing?"

Kris was still carving the little fox statue when someone sat down next to her speaking entirely too cheerily. Slowly turning his head Kris took in the girl who had sat next to him. A Slytherin at least, which would save her from a curse especially since Kris was in a relatively good mood having skipped the entire day of lessons. “Got lost?” Kris sneered arrogantly towards the third year, now recognizing her as they little chit from Hogsmeade who was fraternizing with the Hufflepuff, “Or are you just blind? Considering I’m carrying a knife and a piece of wood, is it really that hard to guess what I might be doing?”
((Don’t take this personally, will you. You may be great person in RL, but in character this is what Kris would reply to everyone, even to his best friends at such greeting. I’m just writing this IC as Kris is a mean Slytherin))

"Oh..." Maddie said, finally relizing who he was. "You're that guy from Hogsmeade, aren't you? Anyway, I was wanting to talk to you 'bout that. Listen, I guess... I'm just genarally nice to almost anyone, I guess. I was just in a genarally good mood that day. I mean, hey, it was only a one time thing, not like I'm gonna become best friends with her or anything."
((Don't worry, I'm not taking it personally. Actually, I like having someone being mean to her, because then, I can play around with her character more. ;D))

Kris arched an eye-brow as the third year started to justify her behavior in Hogsmeade. Did she really think Kris actually cared? Even though if a Slytherin was seen being nice to a Hufflepuff for no reason what-so-ever then it would be a blow to the whole house. “Good to hear you don’t socialize with worthless mudbloods on every occasion. But I did see you with a Gryffindor the other day which was even worse,” Kris stated nonchalantly, changing his grip on the knife a little as he needed some more precision to finish the small foxes ears: “ You really need to get your priorities straight, girlie.”
"Oh..." she started. "You're talking about Viktoria, aren't you? Well, anyway, like I said before, yes I am nice to some Huffs and Gryffs. For example, I'm friends with Vika but I can't stand Potter, Granger, or Weasley. ((sorry if you people are reading this , just the way she was raised.)) Anyway, like I said, I guess I'm just a genarally nice person to almost everyone."

“Viktoria? Don’t have a clue what her name was. She’s a Gryffindor, that’s enough to make her worse than someone with leprosy. Half-blooded freaks who don’t really belong to anywhere,” Kris stated with boredom – he really didn’t care about whoever that chic was.
“And at least Granger has some brains, even though a lousy choice of friends,” Kris continued just as absent-mindedly finishing the small fox she had been carving. The fox was standing with one of her front paws raised and it’s head a little turned as if it was listening to something and was ready to either escape or attack at any moment with it’s tail flowing around it’s hind legs. Not too bad, Kris decided silently as he stared at the small carving that fitted onto his palm perfectly – critically.

"So," she started, with a slight twinkle in her eye. "You admit. You do like Granger." she said, laughing. "I mean, a lot of guys, even in Slytherin, admit that she's pretty, but..."

Kris’s head turned slowly with his eyes showing amusement. His hand flashed out with the tip of his knife touching the third years neck to get her attention: “Granger at least has brains as I said. Unlike you and most probably that girl you were considering a friend doesn’t have any either.” Moving the tip of the magically enchanted steel upwards Kris tapped the girls nose with it mockingly: “As for my taste in girls, my standards are set a lot higher. Trust me girlie – you wouldn’t be coming close either.”
Lowering his knife Kris placed it back into it’s sheath attached to his left ankle where it stayed for 24/7. Pulling out a small silver whistle Kris blew in it and even though no sound appeared to come his huge eagle-owl was floating towards him a moment later. Raising his arm Kris let the owl land on it and stroked it’s royal head fondly as the owl hooted and stepped upwards on Kris’s arm carefully, so his powerful talons wouldn’t hurt Kris.

He did the whole knife thing. "Why do supposeably ((sorry couldn't figure out how to spell it!)) tough people always do something with a knife, or something like that when they're mad?" she asked herself.
Anyway, then he called his owl over. "Is it just me, or is this sort of a weird time to do this?" she asked herself again.
Oh well, she didn't care. She didn't get bothered by things like that. She actually, liked having someone interesting to talk to. "Why would you call your owl over at a time like this?" she asked curiously.

“The knife was in my hand. Besides I would rather avoid physical contact,” Kris answered with an almost friendly mock, considering it was coming from him. But he wasn’t bothering to do anything more or anything more interesting. Kris’ eyes turned towards the third year with an arrogant sneer: “Well, I usually use owl to sent letters. If you still haven’t managed to figure that out, then maybe you should leave Hogwarts and reserve yourself a room with white walls in St. Mungos.”
Stroking the eagle-owls head once again Kris handed the carving to him: “You know where to take this. Don’t wear yourself out, but I expect you to be back in 4 days at least.” Watching as the eagle-owl spread his powerful wings before setting off, Kris silently thought how much energy it would actually take to make a trip to Italy – where Kris lived – and back.
Valuating the girl with an arrogant glance Kris propped his legs up on the ledge of a near-by fountain and smirked while slipping out his wand and setting magical fire to the hem of a fourth year Gryffindro’s girl who was coming too close for Kris’s liking. The girl yelped loudly and tried to put the fire out with her hands, obviously forgetting that she was a witch. A mudblood so it might have been for the better that Kris had brought the distance back. “Who on earth are you anyway that makes you think you are even worth my time. One of those annoying goody-two-shoes who think this school should allow just any mudblood like that one in?” Kris asked without even trying to hid the boredom from his voice.
((Supposeadly))

"Well, I just asked what the owl was for. Gosh, why do all you older guys in Slytherin always get offened if I ask you a simple question? 'Cause, ya know, it makes no sense what-so-ever, and it makes ya sound stupid." she said, sounding a lot smarter than this guy right now. She was sure that he would give her a look or a rude comment at that. But, do you really she cared, I don't think so.
"Oh yeah, and another thing, do you honestly think that I am fond of mudbloods? But, actually, do you really think I care what you think? By the way, who's the fox thingy for?"
((No offense, but, you do relize that you've been calling yourself a she, right?))

“If I was offended you’d be on the ground under some curses right now,” boredom was evident in Kris’ voice, “I just expected a bit more intelligence from a Slytherin. But they do let just any sort into this school nowadays.”
A not-interested arch of an eye-brow as Kris lounged back, pretty much telling the third year that she was one of those ‘just any sort’ of people. Why would anyone state the obvious, especially a Slytherin… the level of Slytherins really was falling as well, or at least that appeared to be the case.
“You and fond of mudbloods? Actually – yes,” Kris glanced at the third year and shielded his yawn – this conversation really seemed to be stuck in one place and the third year just repeated herself over and over and over again, “Conversing with Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors and being annoying – there hasn’t been any proof as to why I should think you are a worthy Slytherin. Besides a Slytherin would have been polite enough to give her name by now.” The Slytherin hierarchy wasn't always set but yunger students always had to introduce themselves first as a general rule.

Maddie just started to look at something else, when he didn't answer her question, just stated the obvious. She found a great intrerest with her fingernail at the moment. She was getting bored, and she hoped that something would happen that was somewhat intreresting, before she had to go back to the castle.
"My name is Madison, Madison Kenacheak, if you must. You're Graas something right?" she said, now looking back up at him. "But, still ya never answered my question: Who's the fox thing for?"

Kris didn’t show any outwards look of acknowledgement as he recalled something he might know about the girls parents. Nothing else besides the confirmation that she really was a pureblood came to mind actually. “Yes, I’m Graas. And for you there’s a Mr. in front of my last name,” Kris said simply. It was almost a stating of fact instead of insulting as he arched an eye-brow sarcastically towards the third year – she really did think a bit too much about her, “And would you stop using slang? The word is actually you, not ‘ya’.”
Using his leg to send a pebble flying to some random students head Kris smirked as he heard a yelp a couple of moments later. “The fox? For no one. Just a little practice to keep my fingers moving as swiftly as ever,” Kris stated with a shrug as his eyes fell on the little girl next to him. Having already decided that she actually wasn’t worth his time Kris eyed her calmly, “Why made you join me anyway?”
Maddie looked back up at him, when he was finished talking. This time, he didn't seem as mean as he had earlier in the conversation. "Ok Mr. Graas." she said simply.
"I joined you because I was bored. That and I didn't reconize who you were at first." she said. "And, the 'you' thing. Sorry, just the way I talk. I'll try to keep my slang on the downlow for you." she and laughed slightly.
"Now, I have another question. Why would you want to put Mr. in front of your name. It just makes people sound old." she said, again.

“You can always call me Master as well, even though that title is usually reserved for Potion Masters,” Kris replied off-handedly. Snape should rightfully be addressed as a Master thanks to his high level in potionry, not just a simple professor. Wasn’t really Kris’ problem what someone called Snape, so he banished the idle thought, “Besides that title shows the proper respect.”
Kris’s eyes settled on Madison as Kris kept a level stare on her from under half-closed eye-lids: “You were bored? Well, I almost wish you would have recognized me, because you certainly aren’t keeping up an interesting conversation.” Kris wondered idly if the girl would get insulted. Maybe she would get angry and present some amusement that way. Kris didn’t think she could actually do anything to harm him – he was two years his senior after all and had a lot more experience and knowledge to draw curses on should the need arise – but watching him getting frustrated might present something to pass his time.

"No, that's alright." she said. "I think I'll pass on the master thing."
"And, who said I wanted to have an interesting conversation? I, on one hand think that I'm having just as a boring coversation as you. By the way, I like your owl, what's his or her... oh whatever! What's it's name?"

“He’s Aquilo. The name comes from Roman personification of North Wind – the strongest and meanest of winds,” Kris sneered arrogantly – too many purebloods even in Slytherin had gaps in their education, especially in the History. Eyeing the third year coldly, having slowly reached the point where he couldn’t stand her pointless chatter anymore Kris waved his hand dismissively: “And with you letting down the values of true Slytherins and being that friendly with those loathsome Gryfifndors and Hufflepuffs you most certainly aren’t worthy of my attention.”
Kris sneered at the girl – these words were meant to cut. But this girl Madi, Matis – whatever her name had been, was too much of a goody-two-shoes. Arching an eye-brow Kris sneered at her: “Now is the time when you apologize for disturbing me and run along.”
