Night began to fall over the castle, more quick than expected. Time seemed to fly today, and Sydney had no idea why. The classes were normal and boring and the meals were the 'same old, same old'. "In a castle full of magical people who would have thought you would have a boring day?" Syd joked to a friend as she kept on going with her dinner. Finishing the meal, she began on her drink. Pumpkin juice, which was always one of her favorites. Sipping it, she turned around as she glanced out the windows that seemed to take up the whole wall. The sun was setting, and she was missing it. "Awww!" she complained as she got up from her seat, and waved goodbye to a few of her friend as she jogged out of the Great Hall. Running, south, down the hall- Syd went for the Courtyard doors.
Pushing the large wooden door open, Syd ran down the stone hallway and pushed open the fence leading towards the outside. Letting it slam shut behind her she searched the sky for the sun. Turning in a circle she looked. "Ahh." she mumbled as she found out- she was too late.
A spring breeze pushed the fence gate open and close, as her hair tossed. No one was outside in the courtyard. One reason was, it was dinner time. Another was, anyone in their right mind wouldn't be out. It was suppost to get colder as the night went on. Clenching her Gryffindor cloak around her she walked out to the middle of the courtyard. A stone bench sat next to the fountain, which had an unique pattern of stars at its base. Smiling at an old memory she had in the courtyard, with stars involved, she layed down facing the sky. Crossing her arms around her body, she waited for the sky to darken as she knew very well, tonight was going to be a clear night. A good night to watch the stars.

He loved to be outside at night. There was something quiet, and refreshing about it, especially when the sun set, and the majority of students made their way back indoors. That was when he always lost track of time. He knew that dinner came not long after his fellow students were back in the castle, but when his mind was on something, the normal reminder of one's need for nourishment faded from his thoughts. He often lost track of time when he spent his evenings in the courtyard, settling onto one of the benches a small stack of books at his side. Today it was a muggle math books that Jaquin had given him when they had discussed a future in a muggle university where they offered such degrees as Psychology. While mathematics was far from his strength, they were apparently a necessity in the muggle world.
He focus was deep into his book when he heard a familiar voice approaching. He glanced up to see the one girl he could never see enough of, and the fates seem to make sure it stayed that way. They had a knack for locating one another in odd moments, where they had just enough time to exchange a few words before parting again, not to see one another for a weeks. He closed his book and set it down on the bench beside him, his gaze now focused on Sydney, who had not seen him yet. "Beautiful night, isn't it?"

Exhaling, Sydney Smiled. The night breeze just flew over her as she looked up at the twinkling stars. It seemed to be forever since she took a night out that she relaxed with the stars. O.W.Ls have been the key thing onher mind. At the end of the year finals were all anyone could think about. Closing her eyes slightly breathing in the thick air she heard someone speak. Opening her eyes she didn't see anyone at first. "Yeah, brilliant really." She replied as she disregarded the voice. Probably just someone who was passing by.
Crossing her arms over her chest, she looked up. Spoting the north star, Syd began to look for other farmilar things. Pausing for a moment, Syd didn't hear any foot stepps. So, the person who spoke to her before must still be outside with her. The voice seemed to go over and over in her head. It sounded farmilar. Grinning, she realized who it was. "So, how long have you been out here? I thought I was alone." She said as she stayed laying down.
Kamron and her always seemed to meet at random times. Never expected, never planned- purely random, that was the fun of it. Anywhere she turned he could be there. It was a good thing to keep in mind. But she did wish at times she knew exactly where he was. Those times when she just wanted to sit there and talk to him for hours.

The fact that she didn’t realize it was him at first made him smile slightly. He knew that she was too caught up in her thoughts of the night sky to think about people. Sydney was always captivated by astrology, it was one of the few true similarities between them. He also had a great love of the stars and the power behind them.
“I have been here for hours. The fresh air helps me study.”
He had leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he watched her. Finally loosing his battle to stay where he was he moved from his seat and over so that he was beside Sydney, lying on his back beside her so his gaze also went towards the sky.
“We first met doing something along these lines.”
He turned his head so he looked over at her now, having placed himself less than a third of a meter from her. "Do you remember?"

Sydney listened to the wind whirl around the courtyard as she heard Kamron reply to her. He was one of the true friends she had the school. Of course, she had a few others but Kam was the one she seemed to always loose track of time when she was with him. "Really? I didn't know. Sorry if I disturbed your studies." she said calmly as he finally showed himself. Watching him, out of the corner of her eye. He layed down beside her. She couldn't hold back a smile. Looking back up at the stars, she began to feel small in a sky so massive. Feeling lost, in a maze of blasing orbs.
The two fell silent for a moment, as Kamron spoke, thankfully. Laughing slightly, she remembered it like it was yesterday. It was in the beginning of the year and she was seated on a bench not to far from where she was now. It was the Sorting Hat bench on the side of the fountian. Smiling, she answered, "How could I forget." she said as she turned her head to face his. "Remember I claimed that pear tree over there." she pointed past a few bushes. She sighed as she turned her head facing the sky again. "That was one beautiful night." She said as she turned back to Kam. "It was about this time of night, correct?" she asked as she smirked. 'How could I have forgotten every detail. When I'm with him everything is worth remembering.' she thought to herself, silently.

He paused, trying to carefully recall the details of their first encounter. Yes, it was about this time of night, and the sky was so clean it was nothing but velvet black and gleaming stars. It made for a perfect first encounter between them and it was so memorable he knew it would never leave him. He remember, even now, how taken he had been with her that mid-October night.
"Yes...I believe you are right. Do you remember also how I asked you to the Halloween Ball? It was right before...and had also given up thinking I would have anyone to go with, and then I met you."
He smiled, turning his bead back over so he could see her again. He remembered the ball well too. She had come as Juliette.
"You looked beautiful in your costume. I remember wishing I had come as Shakespear as I had first intended to."

(( Sorry for lack of responce. Ever since we were upgraded, I lost all my posts. And Just been too lasy to post. So.. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. Bare with me. This one is going to be quite short. )) "The Halloween Ball was a lot of fun! I was going to go alone if I wasn't asked. It would not be anywhere near as much fun as I had with you." Syd smiled at Kamron As he complimented her costume. "Why thank you. It did take a lot of time." She said as she inhaled the cool breeze as they both feel silent. The twinkling stars were gorgous as the two layed quietly. "Kamron?" She asked as she paused. "What are you thinking?" It was a cliche question when two people fell silent but, she actually did want to know. Sydney knew all she thought about was Kamron, and when she would see him. Or just random fun things. But they always ending in a thought of him. She really did wish they talked more. They only talked on occasion when they bumped into each other. Sydney knew he was quite a smart guy. First off he was in Ravenclaw! Second, she heard that he was quite the people watcher. He studied people. She never had a problem with it, but she did wonder what he thought about her.

((I am just happy you are back and remembered our post! I have been thinking about you these days ) He let his eyes drift shut as he thought back to the ball. It was one of those moments in time when nothing extrodinary happened, yet every moment seemed so far from ordinary. He was happy that she enjoyed herself. That meant that perhaps if such an occasion arose again, they could go together. He was lyting there, lost in his own thoughts about doing something with Sydney again when he heard her say his name. His eyes opened, and he turned to look over at her again. She wanted to know what was on his mind. He smiled slightly, stopping himself from replying 'You." "I was wondering if we would ever get the chance to do something such as the Ball again."

"Oh Course silly!" Sydney played with Kamron's hair. She pushed a strand out of his eyes so she could see his whole face. "I'm sure our 6th year there will be some type of ball." She smiled her broad smile which seemed to always come out when she was with Kam. "Can you Promise me something?" she asked as she looked into Kamron's eyes. "Promise me a seat on the train back home, as well as Back to Hogwarts?" Syd's dimples showed as she laughed. Sydney was so happy her and Kamron had gotten so close this summer. He was wonderful to her. Their petty flirting was always wonderful to her.
An Idea rang in her mind, last year she went on a trip with her friend Mark. They were just friends, she didn't like him. But If her family went on a trip this year, maybe he would like to come with her. "Another question." she smiled as her eyes twinkled in the moon light.

His eyes locked with hers for a moment, and he felt her fingertip brush against his face. His hair was getting long, and when he turned his head to face her it fell across his eyes. He smiled slightly at the action, deciding he liked it when she did that, even if it did manage to end any thoughts that may have been in his mind at the time.
He smiled when she asked him to promise a seat would be saved for her on the train, and he answered "I promise." Even if she had not asked, he would have saved one for her.
He caught the twinkle in her eye as she said there was another question. Normally such an expression would lead his mind into a whirlwind of analyzing, but with Syd that was never the case. It was as if he suddenly forgot everything he had ever learned when she was with him. An eyebrow raised in response, but he was still smiling. "Ask away"

Smiling she began. "Well int he past we normally go on vacations. But this year Daria and Derek aren't comming home for the summer. Daria has a big practice comming up. And Derek is being moved to Salem. I was just wondering if we do go on vacation, would you like to come? We might go, we might not- but either way I would deffinatly like to hang out with you this summer." Sydney seemed to talk more than she exactly wanted to. She blushed slightly as she came to this conclusion.
A cold breeze fell over the two as they seemed to fall deeper into the night. Sydney didn't mind. If they got in trouble it was worth it being with him.

He didn't answer right away. He wanted to, but she made the words all stream together in his head so nothing made sense. He had been wondering earlier, just before she asked what was on his mind, if he would get to see her during the summer. While he didn't see her as much as he wanted to at school, and often their visits were cut short, at least he got to see her. School would be out for months though, and that seemed to long to go with out an encounter between them.
"I would really like that. And even if you don't go on a vacation...or even if you do I guess, you can come visit me." As he offered the invitation for her to come to him he let one of his hands venture closer to her, his fingers dragging down her arm.
