Jersey felt a chill rise up her arm as a crisp breeze filled the afternoon air. Classes had just let out and Jersey decided to head straight to the courtyard for some fresh air. Observing the area for an open bench, Jersey smiled as she saw one near the fountain. Lifting up her messenger bag, which hung to her side, she sat down easily on the bench. Placing her bag on her lap, she carefully went inside of it to grab something to do. She looked at her class books and reminded herself of how much homework she had had due tomorrow. She sighed as she struggled to pull out her transfiguration book, which seemed to be cramed hard into her bag. However, with a strong pull and a smack in the face she managed to pull the book straight out, along with another book that flew right into her face from the struggle.
Placing the transfiguration book on the other side of the bench, Jersey scrambled to pick up the book which had mistakenly hit her. She had forgotten all about the book which she had now held in her hands. She looked at the cover of the book and smiled. The Great Houdini the cover read. She had remembered that her sister sent her that boook to read early that week, but Jersey caught up in her work had forgotten it. Jersey was always interested in the fact that people out there perform these "magical" tricks for people, when meanwhile people such as Jersey could in fact do them regularly without any tricks up their sleeves.
Opening the book Jersey read the first line, Which was the more remarkable: the Houdini he wanted the public to believe in; or the Houdini he believed he was? Jersey laughed and shook her head as she thought about how she actually wanted to read this book. Closing the book for a brief moment, Jersey began to become clear of the sounds around her. In the distance she heard the sound of what she could only imagine were 1st years quarelling something Jersey couldn't make out. Jersey looked around more to see younger kid sleeping peacefully on the bench. He was a young Gyffindor and Jersey loved messing with them. Feeling powerful and full of fun, Jersey placed her Houdini and transfiguration books back into her messenger bag and stood up from the bench. Adjusting her cloak and hair so that her hair was not hanging on her shoulders she walked with a stride over to the boy's bench.
Upon her approach she smiled grimly as she saw a 1st year Hufflepuff run away from her direction. "Smart girl." Jersey said with a smart allic tone. Jersey was careful not to wake the boy as she neared the back of the bench, and with a hard push she pushed the bench hard knocking the boy onto the wet and muddy ground which was due to the snow. She watched as the boy woke up and looked desperately for the culprit. Laughing hard, Jersey made it quite obvious for him to know that it was her. Glaring evilingly at the boy, she watched as he too attempted an evil glare. However, Jersey was scared of no one and this boy was nothing to her, and with a smile Jersey stepped her foot out one step towards the boy, and she was soon watching him run full speed to the castle door. Laughing hysterically, Jersey picked up the bench and made herself comfortable yet again, bringing out her Houdini book for a good read.
