Karissa was runnnnnnnnnning around the courtyard. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, and there were even a few birds singing. There were a few students outside, but not many. Karissa continued to look around, searching for any sign of her cute little kittens.
"Miss? Chiff? Where are you?" she yelled. She continued to look, and wonder where her kittens may be. Her wind swept hair was a mess, all tangled up, and she started to sneeze.
"Aachoo!" Oh great, she thought. A cold is all I need. Where could Miss and Chiff be?
Karissa walked over to a bench near the large fountain. She sat down quietly and looked around. No one she knew was out. She wondered where her kittens might be again, and gazed up at the trees bordering the court yards edge like a high majestic fence. For a moment, the beauty of it distracted her. Then, she thought she heard a quiet mewing from nearby.

She jumped up, looking around. She saw a little tail dash under the bench, and bent down. THere was a little kitten, but not Miss or Chiff. This little kitten was brown and white, while Miss was a long furred white kitten and Chiff was a short haired black kitten. THey would freeze if she didn't find them soon, and she didn't know what she would do without her little kittens. She had hardly any friends at Hogwarts, and didn't get along well with many people. She had wanted to try out for Quidditch, but hadn't been able to make the team. She was an excellent flyer, but there were no openings on the team. She had settled for cheerleader though, and was hoping that next time there was an opening the team captain, Harry Potter, would help her.
Karissa looked around again. This time, however, she was looking for the owner of this adorable little kitten.

"Hello? Can anyone help me?" she called. No one was outside right now. She decided to head over to the edge of the courtyard.
"Hello?" she called again. "Anybody there?"

Kris sent his eagle-owl on the way with his letter to his instructor from the prestigious Elemental magic camp, he had been to at summer. Kris had made curiously good progress, but maybe it was thanks to having a private instructor, who he still kept contact with.
The courtyard was rather empty, so Kris made a rather long tour around it, enjoying the scenery and the fresh air. Hearing a sudden rustle Kris turned his head and watched as two kittens appeared from a bush and rolled down to in front of Kris’s legs. The kittens and Kris – who had stopped – stared at each other for a moment, before one of the kitten’s meowed creeping forward and hanging onto Kris’s pants, while staying on it’s hind legs.
“Got lost a little?” Kris chuckled crouching down and removing some leaves and loose grass from the kitten’s fur, then turning to the other one, starting to clean it’s fur as well, as the second kitten had approached him as well. All animals seemed to like Kris for some reason he himself never understood, but he appreciated the animals friendship and trust, as weird it might have seen to other that kittens and owls and whatever other animals ran to a fifth year Slytherin. “Take care of yourself now, not everyone here are very kind to small kittens. And there are dangerous plants to small creatures like yourselves,” Kris said while playing with the kittens as they rubbed themselves against his legs purring softly.
Hearing someone calling Kris groaned. Why did people always have to yell for help, rather than help themselves? Kris whistled sharply – if the person wanted help, then she would know Kris’s presence now – the whistle would notify her of it. If not – well, that way it would be even easier for Kris.

Karissa heard a whistle, and walked toward it. She saw a 5th year boy in Slytherin robes.
"Excuse me," she said. "Sorry for disturbing you, but have you by any chance seen two little kittens? One of them is fluffy and white, and the other is short haired and black." Karissa held out the little kitten. "And do you know who this little one belongs to?"

Kris looked up as a girl approached her. A Gryffindor by her robes and asked for the two kittens who had stumbled across him. “Your cats here, stumbled upon me,” Kris straightened himself up, so the kittens who were hanging onto his pants came to view, “They are small enough to get lost in here for good, so you really should keep a closer eye on them. Especially with this weather.”
Kris’s voice might have sounded a bit venomous, but he hated it when any animal was treated badly. These ones were well-groomed and obviously well-fed though, so he softened his tone.
“As for that little cutie,” Kris whistled softly and watched as the kitten in the Gryffindor’s hands moved it’s ears interestedly before jumping on the ground and making it’s way over to Kris as well, “I don’t know him. Or her.”
Kris watched calmly as the kitten sniffed her and curled up on the nose of his shoe while purring softly. Kris wondered briefly who curious he might have looked. A tall guy, who looks rather dangerous person, rather than a nice guy, and who had three kittens roaming around his legs.

"Oh, thank you so much! I was looking for them everywhere. I had been taking them for a walk around the courtyard when they scratched me and jumped down. They can be real Mischief makers sometimes. I wonder what I'll do with this little kitten. I've got my hands full with these two, as you can see." Karissa laughed and showed the Slytherin boy her scratches.
"Do you have any pets?" she asked, wondering if he would like the extra kitten. "If I can't find the owner, maybe you'd like him."

“Are they trouble or aren’t you just unable to manage them?” Kris asked tonelessly as the girl showed him scratches on her arms. For a Gryff she was unbelievable. She didn’t have seem to taken into account that Kris was a Slytherin after all and her over-friendliness did make Kris a little wary.
Kris looked at the third kitten and shrugged: “I can take the third kitten with me for now. If you happen to find it’s owner you can direct him or her to me and I’ll have a long… chat with whoever it is about treating their animals, before returning him. Or if an owner doesn’t turn up, I know where I can place him.”
"They're just a lot of trouble. And thanks, I don't think I would have been able to take care of three cats. This little kitten might belong to someone in Hogsmeade though. You never know." Karissa looked at the kitten. "He, or she, does look a lot like a cat I've seen around Honeydukes in Hogsmeade. Anyway," she said, hugging her own two kittens, "By the way, my name's Karissa. Now I'd better get these two inside the castle. They must be freezing! " And with that, Karissa ran off toward the entrance to the castle, leaving the Slytherin boy with the little brown kitten.
