Cira wandered out to the courtyard carrying a book in her hand as always. It would be a strange thing to see the young girl without at least one novel in her arms. As her brother said once upon seeing her without one "Oh my God! The world is coming to an end!" this was said really loudly "Can it be true?" Cira had thrown a glare in his direction but then smirked and said playfully "Quiet, twerp"
Cira had just come from the library and was looking forward to starting the book she'd just gotten from the collection of Muggle novels she discovered the year before. Cira sat down, letting her bag slide off of her shoulders and onto the ground and opened Trickster's Choice. Immediately, she surrounded herself with the story blocking just about everything else out.

Rayne was in the library reading over her rough draft that she had constructed for her very first story. She thought for a rough draft it was pretty good until some boy older then her took it and told her it was bad. She wanted to hurt the boy but since he was older then her by several years she decided to just ignore him. Snatching back her rough draft she shoved it into her bag, grabbed all of her other stuff and shoved them in there too before hurrying out of the library. She didn't want to cry in front of him it would only make things worse.
The only problem with her leaving the library was that now she didn't know where to go. She didn't want to go back to her common room because it was always crowded in there and she didn't want to be around a lot of people at that moment. That also ruled out the student lounge. On impulse she walked out into the courtyard. She was met with a blast of icy wind. Shivering Rayne pulled her robes tighter around her and searched through her bag till she found her cloak. She put that on and continued outside.
As she was walking she noticed another girl, older then her and a Ravenclaw, reading a muggle book called Tricksters Choice. Rayne loved that book she also loved that author. Since it was to cold to do anything else Rayne walked over to her. "I love that book." She said sitting down next to the girl. "My name is Rayne by the way."

Cira by now was so deep into the book that she was feeling everything Aly, the main character, felt. She gasped inwardly as Aly was taken by the pirates and then to Rajmuat and sold as a luarin slave. Cira grinned to herself at Aly's daring and cunning. For a while she was Aly as she protected the Balitang girls, dug for information and gathered allies.
Suddenly she was slammed back into reality at the sound of a girl's voice. She blinked as she looked up, realizing that she was no longer in Tanair with Nwat but in a bleak courtyard in Hogwarts-- in reality. She sighed inwardly a bit dissapointed.
The girl talked again and Cira realized she hadn't heard a word she said. Reorienting herself, she said closing the book but keeping a finger there to mark her spot, "I'm sorry, i didn't hear you..." a bit embarrased though this wasn't the first time something of the sort had happened "I'm Cira... i didn't catch your name."

Rayne realized as the girl continued reading that she was really deeply immersed in her book. When the girl looked up she looked a bit disoriented like she wasn't exactly up for a chat. Rayne felt bad for startling the girl who identified herself as Cira out of her book.
"The name's Rayne nice to meet you but I notice that you seem to be really into that book so if you want me to leave..." Rayne got up and started to leave feeling embarassed that the one time she decided to start a conversation and not be shy about it she interrupts someone who obviously didn't want to be interrupted.

Cira laughs "No that's okay. I need to be in the real world anyway and stop living in these worlds i call books. I've always got my nose buried in one novel or another" Cira laughs again motioning for Rayne to sit down "It's nice to meet you Rayne" she says with a smile then vaguely remembers her saying something about liking the book ... or was that just her imagination Cira wondered. "Were you saying something about this earlier?" she asked holding up the book. As she did so, the cold air blew her cloak and penetrated the warm cucoon she'd made for herself. She shivered and pulled her cloak tightly around her again.

Rayne laughed when Cira mentioned living in the book world. "Don't worry about not wanting to live in reality I know exactly what you mean. I'm forever getting caught up in books." Rayne said sitting back down.
"I did say I liked that book. I'm a big fan of Muggle literature mainly because that's what I grew up reading." She explains and pulls out her own copy of the same book. "See I own it too." She says smiling.

Cira grins broadly as she thought This is great! Someone who actually can understand me now! No more crap from my brothers about being the only person who loves books as much as i do then said "Actually it's not my book. Last year i found this section of the library that had muggle books. I've always liked reading muggle books since they have such a different view on life than wizards do. But i grew up with those muggle childrens books... when i was a baby up till i was about three my mum read me the classic muggle fairy tales but once i learned to read i moved on to other things."
"that's wonderful! You're the first person i've known who's read her books... but then again i don't socialize much because i'm so caught up in reading. Have you read any of her other books?" Cira asked hoping she had.

Rayne listened as Cira explained about how she got hooked on muggle books. She didn't know that Hogwarts had muggle books here that was great seeing as how she'd only brought a limited amount and was already re reading them for the third time.
"I agree muggle books are very interesting of course I find wizard books even more interesting because I grew up with muggles and reading muggle literature." Rayne explains putting up her book so it doesn't get ruined.
"And yeah I've read more of her stuff. I've read all of the immortal series. I think by far that was my favorite series by her. Although I heard she came out with a new book called Tricksters Queen it's the second one to Tricksters choice. I haven't read it yet though."

Cira smiled "Of course we'd have different perspectives growing up in different worlds." Cira's eyes lit up when Rayne said there was a new book in the Trickster series "Is there really?!" she asked excitedly "I mean i'm not done with this one yet but I'll most definetly have to see if i can find it once I am."
"Yeah i've read all of Pierce's quartets... she's a wonderful writer." Cira said then thought about the Immortals series and smiled "Numair was the best!" she said but then hesitated as she thought about the book she'd just been reading "Well... maybe not. I think Nwat could give him a run for his money on that." she says imagining herself in Aly's place with Nwat.

"NO no no. Numair is definately the best I don't care what anyone says." Rayne says shaking her head. "I fell in love with him as soon as I met him and let me tell you I knew from the first moment that Daine and Numair would get together. No one believed me but I knew it." She said getting all worked up.
"Sorry." She said once she realized how worked up she was getting. "I get really into the stories. That's why I write myself." She said pulling out a muggle notebook that had the title Bloody Betrayals written on the front.
"It's my first original story. I thought it was pretty good until some guy stole it read it and said it was junk." She said putting it back up scowling at the memory.

Cira laughs "I also knew they'd end up together... when i arrived at the end of the fourth book, i got really mad that she didn't tell us whether or not the two of them married. And you don't have to worry about that... I'm prone to getting moments such as you just had often. When i read a book... it's like i am actually living in the characters' worlds" Cira said reassuring Rayne.
Cira immediately perked up when Rayne said she liked to write stories "Do you really?! I love writing too, though i don't think i'm creative enough to actually come up with a substantial plotline. Would you mind if i read your story? There are plenty of people that say things just to make others unsure of themselves or to lower their self esteem... i'm sure what he said wasn't true"

Rayne looked surprised when Cira asked if she could read her story. She really didn't want to hand the story over to a near stranger. Not after what the boy had said but she handed it over anyway along with a red pen.
"Alright but if you're going to read it you also have to edit it. Don't worry about writing on the pages I have another copy in my dormitory under my bed in case this one gets lost." She explains sitting back against a tree near her.

Cira laughs "Well i suppose i can't do that all right now. Would it be alright with you if i took it with me to the dormatories or to the library or something...i promise i'll keep it to myself and won't let rude boys steal it or anything. That way i dont' have to worry about rushing through it so i can get it back to you while you're still here." Cira asked Rayne
"By the way... what house are you in and what year?" Cira inquired thinking taht she had no idea if she and the girl were int he same house. She figured they wouldn't be since she didn't see her around too often. She'd also already deducted that the girl was younger.... but by how much... she looked to be a second year but then again, Cira was never good at guessing ages.

"It's fine with me as long as I get it back." Rayne said laughing. "I really didn't expect you to read it and edit here anyway. Unless you were like superwoman the chances of getting through it and editing it in the short amount of time that we're here are slim to none." Rayne said stretching a bit before straighening back up.
"As for my house and year. I'm a first year Gryffindor. How about you?" She asked. Rayne figured that the girl was in a different house but seeing as how she never spent anytime in the commonroom she could be wrong. Rayne also deduced that the girl was older probably around third or fourth year but again she couldn't be sure.

Cira laughs and shakes her head "No i'm no superwoman that's for sure...." Cira says as she skims a few paragraphs just to get the feel for her writing. "From what i see so far though you have nothing to worry about... I think that boy, whoever he was, was just wanting to see you upset."
"I'm a Ravenclaw third year." Cira says then thought I never was good at guessing ages...
