Maryn ran out of the common room. She had finally overcome her low points. She was back and stronger than ever. Maryn had forgotten everything that happened over the summer and the things that had happened when she was very young. She was back and better than ever. It was the weekend, so she was wearing a pink shirt, jeans, pink flip flops, and her own touch of funky jewelry. Maryn jolted into the Student Lounge. "Hey, everyone!" She greeted as she found a seat by a window.
The sun was beaming through and she smiled at it. It seemed begging her to go out, but she felt like hanging around inside that day. Maryn picked up a romantic novel she had brought with her and started reading. She wished she had something better to do, but she couldn't think of anything. So, Maryn sat waiting for someone to come along with an idea or anything interesting.

Alarice awoke to the glorious morning in high spirits. It was the weekend and she had absolutley no homework! Alarice had the entire two days free to herself, no school pressure or anything. Not that school ever pressured her. It was more the having to get up for school that was difficult for Alarice.
That morning, Alarice slipped into a pair of low rise jeans and a plain light blue tank top. Alarice had a simple style, but loved to go over the top with jewelry, so she added a pair of dramatic gold hoops, some bangle braclets, and a beaded necklace. She rarely wore makeup, nor needed it, so she didnt even bother.
Alarice decided for that afternoon, to hang out in the student lounge and relax, maybe find someone to talk to. As she entered the room, she noticed a girl named Maryn, a fellow Gryffindor, that she had just recently begun to get to know. She decided to go over and sit with her. "Hey Maryn, long time no see." She said, settling herself in an armchair beside Maryn near the window. "It was more 'long time since I saw you in such a good mood' but Alarice refrained from adding that last bit. Maryn really was a happy, friendly girl, but Alarice had known that in the past she had had a pretty bumpy time. But now, it seemed, she was doing great, and that was all that mattered.

Maryn smiled at Alarice as she entered. "Hey!' Maryn giggled. She listened to Alarice's words. "Yep, I feel alot better. Sometimes if you get things out in the open, you feel brand new." Maryn laughed a little bit. She was totally back to her old giggly self. "So, what brings you to the students lounge today?" She asked. Maryn was a curious person and latley she ahd become more curious. Maryn waited for her to respond.
(Short, I know, but I couldn't think of anything.)

"Nothing much else to do I guess. I'll probably go into Hogsmeade later. But hey, its a good thing I came down here, now we can hang out!" Said Alarice cheerfully. She liked Maryn, she was a fun person to be around. She hadnt really 'hung out' with her before, they had only talked on occasion, and Alarice felt this would be a good opportunity to get to know her a little better.

"Yea, i know what you mean. Yea sure." Maryn giggled. "What is there to do?" She asked was a funny look on her face. "Oh, I know!' She laughed as she reach into her messenger bag. Maryn pulled out a few bottles of different nail polishes. "Are you much of a girly girl? Because I have nail polish. Oh, and magazines." She said as she reached into her bag and pulled out a few "Teen Witch" magazines. 'Ha, I love nail polish." She laughed as she pulled her long hair back into a pony tail.

Alarice smiled as Maryn pulled out a messanger bag full of nail polish, and Teen Witch Magazine. Alarice was definately into girly stuff, but her best friend Kelley was more of a tomboy. "Oh! I hope you have flourecent colors! I havnt painted my nails in ages." Said Alarice peering over at the polish Maryn had set on the floor. She took one of the magazines and flipped to the first page, then stopped. "Hey I think I have some candy in here." She said, grabbing her own bag, and rummaging through its contents. It was pretty messy, but Alarice was known for her huge supply of sweets she kept with her at all time. Sure enough she found a few boxes of chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts every flavor beans, and a few other different assortments of candy. "Do you want some?" Alarice offered, returning to her magazine.

"Yea, I have every color!" She laughed taking out more of her colors. "I'm such a girlie girl!" She laughed. "Ok, what color do you want? I think I'll go for the hot pink." Maryn picked out her color. "Sure, I'd love some candy. Thanks." Maryn took a handful of candy. She ate it one piece at a time. She then picked up a magazine too. Her gaze fell upon a young wizard about her age that had already left Durmstrang because he was so gifted. he had even wrote a book and came up with his own spells! "Wow, I wish I was as smart as he is! Hey, he''s cute!" Maryn laughed pointing to the picture of him.

"Oooh, I think I'll try the gold. And maybe some red! Gryffindor colors!" Alarice laughed, digging through Maryns pile of assorted nail polish colors. She chomped through a few boxes of bertie botts every flavor beans, and then set down her magazine as Maryn showed her a picture of a highly accomplished Durmstrang student, who had left school early because of his talent. "Yeah, I could never skip a grade. I may have some brains but I definately dont have the determination or patience." Alarice sighed with a half smile. "Hey, he is kind of cute! So, is there anyone at the castle you think is cute?" Asked Alarice. She had always had a bit of a thing for bad boys, but would never admit it to anybody because all of the 'bad boys' at Hogwarts were Slytherins. And to be a Gryffindor and have a crush on a Slytherin...it just wasnt done. The two houses were known for loathing eachother.

"Gryffindor spirit! I love it." Maryn laughed when Alarice picked out Gryffindor colors. "Yea, I wish I was that smart. I'm okay at school, but I'm not perfect." She explained. Maryn's father was in Ravenclaw and tried to teach her everything he knew. He had even started teaching her Nonverbal spells. That sort of magic was meant for older students. Maryn was almost placed in Ravenclaw, but in the end she went into Gryffindor. Much to her parent's dislike. Maryn giggled when Alarice asked if she liked any Hogwarts guys. "None so far, most of the cute and nice ones have girl friends." Maryn shrugged her shoulders as she talked. "How about you? Who do you like?" She asked.

(Im super super sorry this took so long to update! this week has been crazy for me!!)
"Yes, all of the cute and nice guys do have girlfriends. But I really dont like anyone. I mean, well, I have my eye on some of the older students, and well I kind of always thought Harry Potter was cute." Alarice laughed aloud at that confession. A lot of girls liked Harry Potter. I suppose it just comes within the territory of being famous... Alarice thought to herself.

"Yea, I know what you mean." Maryn laughed. She listened to the rest of Alarice's comment. "I've never really liked Harry Potter. I mean he is a good guy, but I've never really had a crush on him." She explained. Maryn never really had crushed on famous people. She laughed a bit as they finished their nails. "Ok, what do you want to do next?" She asked.
