Dawn was sitting peacefully in the student lounge alone. It was after hours and all students should be in their common rooms. She was set to patrol the halls but, instead she decided to catch up on sleep. With a knitted blanket over her, she was layed on the couch in front of a newly lit fire. The curtains were pulled back which left the rain beaten windows in full view. It was storming and all of the castle knew. When thunder rolled on the hill the castle echoed. Dawn liked it in the student lounge due to the fact it was a lot warmer than the dungeons. With her luck, when she goes back down to the Slytherin Common room she will step in several puddles of water seeping in from the outside. Water wasn't unusual to be found in the depths of the school. Nearly all the Slytherins were used to it by now, but it wasn't like they liked it.
Another crash echoed the school as Dawn's eyes opened. "Now that one was loud." she murmured to herself as she rolled over to her side and saw a lightning bolt fly across the sky. She watched the rain for a bit finally remembering what she actually should be doing right now. Sitting up she stretched her arms above her head. Her Slytherin cloak hung off her arms like a robe. She was too comfortable to move and knew she wasn't going to for the life of her. Leaning back to on the couch Dawn crossed her arms as she looked into the fire and listened to the crackling of the wood.

"Oh you are such a bloody pest! Get away!" Draco yelled as he pointed his wand at the thought of a young girl who seemed to drill him with questions about him and his life. He was slouched in a leather back chair in the heart of the Slytherin Common room. The vast room was buzzing with action. People dueled as well s some attempted to study for their yearly tests. Others simply layed around and conversed. Draco was getting annoyed by all of the clatter. He wouldn't dare go back up to his dorm. Crabbe and Goyle were already fast sleep snoring their bulky heads to sleep. Pushing himself up from his chair he turned and went toward the port hole. The stone wall slid open as he walked out into the hall. The sound of water dripping seemed to follow him. You could see droplets forming above your head where the lake was being filled too much from the storm. A single drop found is way down Draco's neck. Stopping in his tracks he looked back up at the ceiling and flapped his hood over his head with a grunt as he started off again. "Bloody school... Absurd foundation... Horrid people!" Draco droned as he found his way to the main hallway. He wasn't suppose to be out of the common room, no one was, but Draco could care less. He rather be anywhere than that pit called a common room. Jogging up the stairs, Draco began to wander around the castle. Walking from the ground floor, to the fourth, to both wings, as well as library, Draco wandered getting thoughts out of his mind. All he wanted was to find some stupid little mudblood wandering around and scare him out of his wits! Draco needed to let his anger out. Walking casually down a set of stairs he heard a noise behind him. Stopping he turned around and waited to see where the sound came from. Moments later Peeves the Poltergeist shot out of the hallway with a pail of water, probably from the higher floors where the roof was leaking as it always did. "Ha ha! Mr. Malfoy! Cold shower!?" Peeves laughed as he drenched Draco in the water. "Bloody Hell! If you were only alive! I would ring your neck!" Draco shouted as he flicked off his hood to reveal Draco's hair dripping in cold water. Peeves quickly echoed back, "How about you ring your cloak instead!" He laughed as he flew quickly into the wall, vanishing. Draco was fuming, he was soaked and full of a temper. "Damn!" he shouted as started back down the stairs.

Looking into the fire, another crash sounded as Dawn's gaze was interrupted. Blinking she yawned as she crossed her arms at her crest. Dawn adored weather, period. She wished if she could have any power she would control the weather. She adored how there were so many different things the weather could turn into. Standing up she walked toward the window as she layed her head on the glass looking out to the south lawns of the school. Taking a breath Dawn heard another crash, followed by a few voices. She was suppose to be watching the halls so no Gryffie or Huffie could sneak a snack or start a cult in the halls. Dawn walked swiftly toward the doors and walked out into the hallway.
"Damn!" A voice sounded as Dawn noticed the tone. Walking out she looked over the banister to a boy with familiar streaking blond hair. "Get stuck in the rain, Draco?" She spoke as she took out her want and pointed it at him. He was soon surrounded by a white mist as all the water from his clothing vanished. "You can thank me for that later. But I should report you to Dumbledore for being out past curfew you know." Dawn egged as she understood that he knew she would never to that to a friend. "Night now. Don't go looking for trouble now." Dawn said as she turned around and walked back to the Student Lounge. If it was just Malfoy playing in the water then she might as well let him go. Pushing the doors open to the room, Dawn felt the warmth of the fire touch her porcelain skin. Walking over to the couch with her blanket she sat down.

Walking down the red carpeted stairs, Draco heard a voice behind him. Thinking it was Peeves, He turned around and was just about to blurt out an obscenity before he noticed a girl with long blond hair. His eyes focused as he noticed it was Dawn McGrogan, the Prefect of the Slytherin House. She sent a spell to him which dried him from Peeve's trick. "Peeves, Dare I say more?" Draco spat as he began to walk back up the stairs to her. She turned around and started to walk away. He was bored, and felt someone who was worth a few words was someone he needed to talk to. He saw her turn the corner into the Student lounge. Pushing the door open after her he spoke, "Your a real brilliant Prefect. Doing your job twenty-four seven." He exaggerated as he went to a chair not to far from the fire.

Pulling the knitted blanket closer to her, Dawn slouched in her seat. Her legs were pulled up on the couch so she would be comfortable. Hearing the doors open behind her she knew it could only be Draco. She didn't see anyone else in the halls. The sly voice spoke to her as Dawn grinned as she knew without looking who it was. Seeing him walk around her and sit down on a side chair, Dawn watched him. "I was the perfect person to be Prefect. Never doubt it, Malfoy. Think if it was given to someone else who actually took it serious!" she laughed at the thought of it. Of course she punishes anyone else, but friends are of course an exception.
"So, why where you out of the Common Room?" asking as another crack erupted in the sky. Looking toward the window Dawn watched the lightning bolts dance around in the sky and the rain try to avoid its heat. Silence fell over the two for a moment as Dawn turned to Draco with an evil grin. "Have you heard about the recent 'findings' for our fathers?" crossed her arms as she knew he probably was clueless.

"You know how the Common Room is, McGrogan. Boring and utterly annoying." Draco slipped his arms through his cloak as he began to slip it off. Tossing it aside in the corner he listened as the thunder began to roll across the sky. Dawn seemed to smile as she began an interesting conversation. "I didn't know me and your father did business still." pausing he spoke, "Should I know about this?" Draco said as if he was betrayed by his father. Normally he was told most of the things his father did, if not he found it out the hard way- like this.
(( Excuse the shortness. Not really in the mood to post. It will be better next time ))
