Dix looked up as Jack finally spoke, a slow smile creeping across her lips. Many knew that smile. It was the smile of getting what she wanted. She had waited for him to talk to her. To talk about Mack. She wanted to analyze what he said, and how he spoke. But she couldn't ver well do that if he wasn't speaking! Dix leaned forward a little and looked Jack up and down, "Yes. I'm Dixie-" She was about to say more when that annoying, pesky, little Davis girl talked. Dix immediately rounded on her.
"Shut up! You are mingling with Slytherins m'dear. You aren't going to get anything but arguments. So either leave or stay silent!" Dix snarled, her temper showing the best of her. She then turned back to Jack and said, "Well, at least someone can keep my sister on a leash. The rabid mutt she is." Dix spoke harshfully. She then looked at the Ravenclaw again, before sitting back in her seat.

Jack diffinently didn't like Dixie know. She seemed..cruel, like his father. But then, all Slytherins were like that.
"So, tell me what your side of the story is. I have heard from Mack about you and what seems like her family, but what do you have to say?" Jack was always giving people chances. Always. That was just how he was. He only gave them one chance and if they wrecked it, then he was done. Now was Dixie's chance. He thought about how Dixie knew his name. "How did you know my name?" He asked her, his eyebrows raising. He hoped it wasn't because of his father.

Dixie flicked her bangs out of her eyes and stared at Jack, he was a second chance Slyth. She didn't really like those type of Slytherins, but she figured she could give him the actual truth as opposed to what Mack has told him. What has Mack told him? Dix thought this over, probably the truth. Mack was never one to lie, "I was born first. I was born better. I'm a better model for the family. I don't socialise with mudbloods and halfbloods. And I certainly don't date Ravenclaws. I keep good grades, and I do what I am told. Where as she was born second, born harder, isn't exactly top dog of our family, she socialises with all bloods, and she has dated a Ravenclaw. Tristan what's-his-face." Dix answered. Then he asked another question and she merely shrugged, "I know everyone. Well," she looked at the Ravenclaw, "anyone worth knowing, that is."

Maddie listened to the conversation with interest. "This is going to be interesting..." she said under her breath. She then watched a fight come across over the whole thing, and hadn't heard the Gryffindor talk in some time. 'Must be shy.' she thought.
As the fight grew a tad worse, she saw Dixie jump in and start yelling about crap, well, at least it was in Maddie's eyes. 'No one really cares if you think you're better than your sister.' she thought to herself.
After everyone had finally shut up, Maddie looked around at everyone and then asked, "Umm... dudes, ya ok? Or are you just gonna keep going on about something pretty stupid?"

Jack turned on the Slytherin, Maddie. "Do you even understand what we're talking about?" Jack spat at her. "It may be stupid to you, but not to me." He then turned back towards Dixie.
"Mack is no mutt. It doesn't take much to control her, just patience, another thing you lack besides brains." Jack snarled rather nastily. He didn't like Dixie at all, and she had run out of chances.

Dix looked at the younger Slytherin girl. Her eyes flaring, and her tone sharp she said; "If you insist on using American slang, I suggest you go there. Because you clearly aren't wanted here." Dix's eyes flickered back to Jack who was now talking about Mack. He seemed to stand up for her an awful lot, Dix pondered on this.
"I have brains. I just don't like using them on people who associate with my sister." She commented dryly. He wasn't doing anything to her mood.

Holden and Rendel then jumped on Maddie's case, once again stupidly. "Of course I know what you're talking about." she answered to Jack's question, which, Maddie knew she wasn't really supposed to answer.
She then turned to Dixie, after she suggested to go to America, if she was going to use "American slang". "Ya know," she said. "That really isn't a bad idea. I have always wanted to go there, and Holden, I don't really think anyone really cares if you think you're better than your sister."
She then turned back to Jack, "And Jack, her," at this, she pointed to Dixie. "and her family are really probably about the only ones that feel that way about Mack. So, it's ok." she assured him, she was now beginning to feel like a referee, although she wasn't asked to be, she just liked telling people what to do.
"Jack, trust me, I'm a friend of Mack too, but we really don't need to be fighting over what we think about her, now do we?" she asked everyone.

((OK...so I am bringing Mack into this, because Maddie doesn't seem to get what Mack's home life is like. I will demonstrate that, if it's alright?))
OK, so the day hadn't started out as perfect as she had wanted it to. Mack could live with that. After all, she wasn't supposed to see sunshine and daisies all the time. Was she? Mack shrugged at this thought, she could totally live without sunshine and daisies...moonlight and roses are just as good. She decided to leave the dorm and walk around the castle aimlessly. Considering she really had nothing else to do. She sighed and jumped off her bed, not really caring to look in the mirror, who gave what she looked like?
She left the dorm, went through the empty common room, then went up three flights of stairs. And headed towards the great hall. Turned a quick right, and then headed towards the student lounge. Maybe someone would be in there. Someone worth giving her time to. Mack pushed open the door and surveyed the area. A rather large group of students were all gathered around the fire. The sad thing was, Mack knew most of them. From left to right, Brooke Davis; Jack Rendel; Dixie Holden; and Madison Kenacheak. There was one girl Mack didn't recognise but she didn't seem to be talking anyway.
"and her family are really probably about the only ones that feel that way about Mack. So, it's ok."" She heard Maddie saying. Mack looked at Dix, who she could tell was bored clearly out of her skull. Mack put her hands on the back of the armchair and leaned forward before acknowledging her presence; "Actually, if you listen to the rumors, plenty of people besides my family think things about me." She told Maddie in a corrective tone of voice.

((I don't know 'bout anyone else, but I don't mind at. It could get more interesting this way!))
Maddie was listening in on their conversation, and had just got done talking when she reconized someone's voice jump into the conversation. She turned around to see who it was: Mack. 'Great.' she thought sarcasticly. 'More joy.'
Mack had said that if you listened to the rumors, plenty of people feel that way about her. She was probably right, Maddie was just trying to stop a fight, that's really not worth fighting about. Well, it may be important to the people who were fighting, but they really had no reason to fight in the first place! Maddie's parents had always taught her that, if you feel one wayabout someone and another person feels another way, just keep it to yourself. Because, most of the time, you'll end up embarrasing yourself one way or another.
Actually, Maddie had heard a lot of the rumors. But she never fully understood them. Or who they were about, up until recently. Ok, ok, so she didn't really get the whole point. "So, what exactly happened?" she asked curiously.

Mack hopped over the empty armchair and took a seat, rather annoyed that Maddie was asking about the rumors. Did she honestly think Mack liked talking about them? Fiddling with her nails, Mack shrugged, "What have you heard?" She asked, clearly agitated with the fact of talking about the rumors. She hated hearing them, much less talking about them, so why bring up the topic? Oh, right, because Mack is an imbecile! This was well established a long time ago though, so she needn't dwell on it.
"Chances are what you've heard is true." She added as an after thought. Her blue eyes looked at her sister, who was strangely being silent. Mack waited for something sharp to come out of Dixie's mouth. For poison to ooze and set itself free, scarring Mack for life even more than she is already scarred. But nothing came. And this surprised Mack, probably more than anyone she had ever had the pleasure of being surprised from. Dix's gaze didn't faulter, and neither did Mack's. Suddenly the younger Holden said, "I'm flattered, Dix. You were talking about me. A piece of trash mutt, I thought I didn't deserve your attention or your time."

Jack slouched in his chair. He gave Maddie a smile, even though he was getting a bit agitated with her. If she thought she could control him.... He shook his head. He hated when people thought that they had control over him, even though they didn't. Dixie was looking bored, as if she didn't really care that she was insulting her own sister. Or the sister that she had.
Jack sat up when he heard a familiar voice behind him. Mack. He looked at her, wondering what she was doing here. If he had been Mack, he would be avoiding Dixie at all costs. But then, he wasn't Mack so there was nothing he could do about it.
"Why, Mack, nice to see you." Jack said, looking over at Dixie to see what she would do. "I was just having a ......conversation, could you call it? Anyway, I'm glad you came. I was getting bored." Jack told her, his eyes gleaming.

Dix looked up as her younger sister joined them. A cruel, sadistic smile spread across Dix's face, and her eyes instantly lit up at the thought of a sibling quarrel. She enjoyed the fights she had with her sister, and by the way Mack talked to her; Mack was looking for one. Dix shifted in her seat so her staring at Mack wouldn't be affected by her uncomfortableness and she dwelled on what Mack had said, "Don't be flattered, unless you call insults and belittling flattering, then go right ahead. I was just telling Jack here, how worthless you are to the human race." She spoke strong and she didn't look away. This was going to be enjoyable. Her brown eyes locked with blue, and for a moment she saw hatred flash in the pale greyness, and she knew what was coming next. Dix waited, waited for the screaming to come.

She smiled at Jack, and shrugged, then her attention was drawn back to Dixie. Who was now letting the hatred fly. Anger boiled inside Mackenzie, and she thought she was going to curse her sister in a new millenium. But she didn't move an inch. She sat perfectly stationery in the armchair, challenging her sister to make her feel even worse than she already did. ...worthless you are to the human race. Rang through Mack's ears, and she thought for a moment that she was going to cry, but she held strong and her eyesight didn't blur, she's taking that as a good sign. Then the pain went away and all Mack had left for her sister was pity, and hate, and anger, and all the other emotions that were the opposite of good.
"Well, I guess that's the difference between you and me. You take a look at what a person is, and not at what a person could be. And let me tell you something, Dixie Anne Holden, when I loko at you; I see a frightened girl who will do anything Daddy says, and I do mean anything." Mack spoke, letting her words linger in the air for a good minute or so before continuing, "Because, you know, anything is worth those new pair of boots, or that new top you saw in the shop window. Anything is worth getting a new car, or a new phone, or building your own club. Anything is worth your dignity, your faithfullness, and your loyalty; even to your friends, to your boyfriends, and even to your sister. Because anything is worth whatever makes you happy. Money can't buy happiness, someone once said; I guess I was proved wrong. Because you are apparently very content with your life, even though it's missing love and comfort. I guess you don't need that if you heart is as black as your soul."

Mack took a seat in a chair not far away, and looked somewhat annoyed with Maddie, asking what had happened. Hey! She was just asking ok. It wasn't that big of a deal, was it?
Mack then asked what Maddie had heard, because it was probably right. "Well," Maddie started. "I don't know... a lot of stuff, I guess. Just stuff like, no one in Slytherin really likes you anymore. And, that you turned goody-two-shoes, or something like that, and that you disgraced your family name. Ya know, stuff like that. However, I really don't care, what the rumors say, anyway, those are just stupid things that people make up, because they're too bored with their lame lives. I have to admit however, I once was one to start and spread rumors now and then, of course, NOT about you, but I quickly got over my stage of immaturity." she replied simply.
