A Change of Scenery ((Anyone))

Caiest stood up from her spot on the ground. She was outside in the courtyards enjoying the peaceful scenery. Only problem was she was bored. Everyday she saw the same things, went to the same places, avoided most people. She needed a change something new to look at instead of the same flowers and trees. So picking her bag up she made her way inside. It was too crowded outside to look for a new place to go. Everyone seemed to have flocked to the outdoors now that it was nice enough to wear short sleeves and shorts. So Caiest contented herself with exploring the castle. Besides there's more things to discover inside the castle then out.

Caiest wandered the halls for a bit trying to think of a new place to go. She didn't want to explore too much after all she had stuff to do later and getting lost would interfere with that. She finally decided on the one place she avoided at almost all costs. The student lounge. Caiest had never been one to like small enclosed places and that was generally the Student Lounge. A small room packed with people so that it was entirely to claustorphobic for Caiests liking.

Caiest peeped in to make sure there weren't too many people lounging around. Luckily she was right in thinking that most people had gone outside. There was no one in the room except for like two people but they were to involved in their conversation to even notice Caiest. That was the way Caiest liked it though so she wasn't complaining. Sitting down she noticed a chess table. It had been ages since Caiest had played chess. She was one of the few people she knew that actually liked chess. Unfortunately there was no one to play with. Caiest sighed and ended up taking out a book instead.

Bee, was sitting on the bench, oblivious to the people around her. People this days she thought irritibly. They get so annoying sometimes. She had brought a picture of her mom outside with her. She was staring at her mothers' pretty face with blonde curls covering her blue eyes, when the wind suddenly picked up. It was only a light breeze but it had been enough to pick up the picture of Mrs. Vreeland and carry it across the grounds.
Bee had never had this happen to her before. She was so shocked she couldn't move for a few seconds. Then it hit her, the only thing left of her mother, the only the she had to remember her mom, was flying away, heading towards the lake. "NO!!!" she screamed. People stared, but no one got up to help her as she started running across the grounds, leaving her wand on the table back in the courtyard. She was a fast runner and she soon caught up with the picture. It was near the lake, high up in the air, as if teasing Bee. It worked, for she jumped up in the air, trying to catch the picture. She suceeded in catching the picture, but she realized that she had jumped too far, for she had landed in the lake with a loud splash, her mothers' photo clutched in her hand.

She had jumped out of the lake instantly, wishing she wasn't so clumsy and big-headed. The photo was in her hand, soaking wet. Bee ran back to her wand, not noticing the stares and sniggers people sent at her. She grabbed her hand hastily and dried the photo as well as she could. It looked alright, Bee decided as she walked into the castle; it was to cold outside now that she was wet. She went into the student lounge, noticing that it wasn't very busy. She put the photo into her pocket, and noticed there were three people in the common room. Two were talking to each other and the other one was reading a book. Bee had seen this girl before, but she couldn't remember what her name was. She then saw a chess board on the table in front of the girl reading. She walked tentivly over and said in a friendly voice, "Would you like to play some chess?" Bee looked down at herself and saw her clothes were all wet and soggy. She looked back up at the girl. "I have never played chess before, but I would like to learn......."

Caiest looked at a girl in sopping wet clothes over the top of her book. She hadn't really been paying attention to the book so she wasn't angry that the girl had talked to her. The girl asked her if she wanted to play chess. Caiest did very much so and had she been anyone else she probably would have replied with a very enthusiatic Of Course I would! As it was she wasn't very interactive with people so she probably didn't appear very friendly as she put the book down and rearranged the chess board so that the pieces were in the right spots. "Do you want to be black or white?" She asked still rearranging the chess board.

She smiled as the girl put down her book and started rearanging the board.
"I don't really mind....I guess I will be black, if you don't mind."
Bee looked down at her clothes. She was starting to get cold. She took out her wand and did a drying spell. It took a while for her clothes to dry, so she waited as the girl set up the pieces for chess.
"By the way, I'm Bridget, Bee for short. What's yours? Sorry, I just can't remember right now...." As her clothes were drying, Bee took out the wet picture of her mom. She put it on the table, hoping it would air dry. Her late mother smiled at Bee, but Bee wasn't looking. She was watching the girl put up the chess pieces, trying to remember where everything went. She grinned at the girl and waited to see what her name was.

Caiest smiled as the girl picked black it was the best side to choose it was her favorite side anyway. "Good choice." She said as she turned the board so that the black pieces were facing Bridget and the white was facing her. She looked up from the board in time to see the girl take out a picture of a woman presumably her mother. Caiest didn't comment on it as it wasn't any of her buisness. The girl then introduced herself as Bridget Bee for short. "My name is Caiest nice to meet you." She said with a small half smile. "Do you know how to play and do you want to go first or should I?"

Bee smiled at Caiest.

"Nice to meet you too. I kinda know how to play, but I can learn the rest as we go on with the game." She thought for a second and then decided that Caiest could go first.

"You can go ahead and go first." She smiled at Caiest and then looked down at her pieces. Um, bishop, horse, king, queen, uhhhhh.........oh yeah,castle. She was trying to remember all the pieces as she waited for Caiest to move her piece.

Amelia walked across the Hogwarts grassy Grounds, the wind brlowing about her causing her billowing black robes to flap about her legs and her hair to swirl in the air as if by magic, and soon found herself in front of the Great double doors that led into the Hogwarts Castle. Amelia did not like to attatch herself to things. People, dogs, cats, places. But this school always held a special place in her heart from the moment she stepped foot inside. The magic always enchanted her and the ghosts always seemed friendly (though not the Blood Barren...). She took hold of the cold door knob and pulled, the door opening with a loud SWOOSH as the air suddenly entered the castle. She walked inside, noticing only a few students. She adjusted her book bag strap on her shoulder and started to walk up the staircase towards the Student Lounge, her favorite place (other than the Gryffindor Common Room) to study and/or relax.

It may have taken her a bit to get there, but Amelia soon found herself standing in the doorway of the Student Lounge. She did not smile, well maybe a bit shyly at a few students who met her eye. She walked over to a seat in the back and sat down. Two girls talking near to Amelia caught her eye. She though about going over to talking with them, but a chill ran down her spin at the thought. She wanted to remain safe, within her shell. She would only interact with them, if they interacted with her!
