The murmur of the students in the student lounge was at a deafening low for some reason and it was driving the strawberry blond in the corner insane. She watched with blank eyes as the fire crackled at the front of the room and a small group of people sat around it whispering. Mary threw her head back so it rested on the back of the chair and swung it back and forth to a silent beat. She had to admit she was bored out of her skull.
Lifting up her purse into her lap she took out a book and flipped through the pages. “The… morning… ring… night…” she caught random words but didn’t really feel like reading. Mary didn’t know where this lethargy came from but she hoped to brush it off soon. Taking a muggle cd player out of her purse Mary put on the headphones and closed her eyes. The music flowing through her mind Mary felt better and began to smile. It was likely just the quiet that had her feeling so sluggish.
Mary lifted the book up once again and began to read feeling better. Finding the music distracting though and thinking she was enough into the story to concentrate Mary turned the music off and put it back into her bag. As she was replacing her purse to the floor though she noticed the door to the lounge swing open and a boy walk in. Mary grinned as she noticed who it was and began to wave. “Kamron! Hey” she shouted across the room.

The lingering winter weather was getting to the fifth year Ravenclaw as he sat in the library, bairly entraced by his astrology book, a subject that normally facinated him. Normally pouring over a stack of books was a desirable way to spend an afternoon, but as he glanced out the window, seeing the bright ways of the sun shine down on the still snow covered ground he could not help but feel a desire to escape form the castle walls and venture out into the cold. He did have enough understanding of the weather to know that the clear sky and bright sun would mean that the tempraturs were far below his comfort level, but after a nother glance down at his book he knew that he needed to escape. Closing his book and tucked it under his arm before heading out of the library and contiued on until he found hismelf walking down the path towards the Student Lounge. It might not be warm enough to remain outside, but it was warm enough to make a trip to the Lounge.
Upon entering the gathering place for Hogwarts stuents, he immediatly heard his name called, and glancing in the direction that the sound had come from, he saw that Mary, a Slythering he had met over winter holiday, was sitting in the corner. He made his way across the room and fell easily into a chair near hers. "Hi Mary, How have you been these days?"

Mary’s grin became a bright smile as Kamron came over and sat next to her. If there was anything Mary was in the mood for right now it was company and she knew she would enjoy Kamron’s. They had only meet once prior but they had got on quite well. Mary had ran after him while lost in the castle then on a sudden urge followed him out wanting some company then as well. They had ended up spending what must have been hours together in a small café in Weinig Zug before heading back at night with Jasmine and Molly. "Hi Mary, How have you been these days?" he enquired as he sat.
“Pretty good; life has had its ups and downs of course but I'm still pretty high in the wheel of fortune so… And how about yourself?” she responded rather softly, whether it was due to the stillness of the room or the statement itself she wasn’t sure and quite frankly didn’t care. The room was still very quiet for some reason and it was giving Mary the creeps. “Gosh have you ever seen them so silent? You would think there were no more than three people in here with this volume.” She added her thoughts out loud.

He gave the Slytherin a broad smile as she said that she was high on the wheel of fortune. It was quite an intresting statement really with a tremendous amount of hidden meaning to it. His mind began to wander down the analyzing path before he caught himself and regained his focus once again. She had asked him a question.
"I could say the same I guess. I have been putting a great deal of time into my sudies these days, especially astromony. I found a book that relates the muggle astrology signs to wizarding praticse and magic that is rather intresting."
After he answered there was a short pause, making the silence in the room all the more obvious, and not only to himself. After Mary had brough tup the subject he glanced over his shoulder to see how many students were cramme dinside the room. Normally his first actionupon entering a space was to give an overall observation of his potential studies, but Mary had called his attention before he had done so. The room was as crowded as it normally was, but the students were unusually quiet. It seemed that many of them had books open, though few of them seemed to be focused on what they were readin. Many of them were instead staring blankly off at nothing in particular.
"I think it is the anticipation of the changing seasons." He started, turning back to face Mary as he did. "It has every one a bit out of sorts."

Mary listened as Kamron mentioned that he had been studying a lot lately. Her interest was defiantly perked as he mentioned muggle astrology. “Oh… I love astrology; I find horoscopes never work but astrology like your sign dictating you personality is so true for most people. Can you guess what I am? I bet you can, everything about me just screams Leo… but my moon sign is Cancer and I find that comes out quite a bit as well. What sign are you? My guess would be… cancer but I may be very wrong considering… well we don't exactly know each other that well and the only signs I have really studied are Leo, Cancer, and Aries. Oh I just love Aries he is my favourite of the Greek Gods. I don't know why but just something about him being the God of war… I dunno.” Mary babbled into the silence.
Kamron responded to Mary’s comment on the quiet saying it was likely the ‘anticipation of the changing seasons’ that had ‘put everyone out of sorts’. That certainly would explain it; Mary herself had felt a longing to go outside lately and had more than once ended turned up out in the cold despite how she despised it. “Yes well that everyone is; I find that lately it seems the world has gone crazy. Everything you thought you could depend on is falling by the wayside and…” she began with a frown before flashing him a grin “But I'm not that cynical yet… things will stabilize soon enough.”<br> “Look at me here probably confusing you by saying all that when you don't even know what has me feeling like that… but I don't either really. Have you ever just felt like you are loosing your grip? And nobody else has noticed you falling or even the shift that sent you flying?” She said with a look on her face that clearly showed she was absorbed in inward contemplations and hadn’t even noticed she was speaking. Remembering Kamron’s presence though she smiled at him apologetically. “I'm so sorry just… thinking out loud. Never mind me when I get like that.” She said to him.

He listened quietly to her about her feelings and inner struggles and contemplation. To many it would simple be rambling and confusion, but to him there was a much deeper meaning,b ut then looking at it from a more psycological side, there was always a deeper meaning to things. He leaned foward slightly as she spoke, his gaze focused on her actions as he paid careful attention to her words and he exact body language as she spoke. It all had meaning. There was so much that most people were so painfully unaware of. He was so entraced that he was almsot caught off guard when she appologized. He gave her and easy smile and tried to straighten himself. He did not want to appear as if he was studying her, even if he was.
"Its no problem Mary. Remember who you are talking to. Such inner debates such as these are what I life for. I do understand if it helps, and if you wan tme opinion, it is that the chaning of the seasons is has a subcincious effect on the way that we live your lives. Changes aroudn us always make one wish to have changes within us as well, but as this desire is subconcious if we do not reconize it we are suddenly overwhelmed by a feeling that we no longer have control; changes are happening and we did not have a say in them, even though internally it is what we truly desired."
He paused for a moment, wondering if he should have stopped before his explination. He had always spoken of such philosophical things openly, but for some of his fellow students, it was not their idea of a fascination topic.
"I am a Sagittarius by the way, so all of my philosophical rantings can at least be blamed on my sun sign."

Mary giggled as Kamron told her it was fine her babbling to him, and reminded her that it was he she was speaking to. It was true, from what little she knew of Kamron she knew psychology was his passion. She nodded in agreement as he said it was likely just the change of seasons making her feel everything is out of place. “But what makes us want the change? If it makes us feel we are falling and so uncomfortable… I mean if its what we wanted deep down wouldn’t we embrace the change?” She questioned knowing she sure did not like the feeling she had been getting lately.
Mary smiled at Kamron as he mentioned being a Sagittarius and blaming his philosophically inquisitive mind on that. “A fellow fire sign. A lot of our personality traits can be blamed on the sky I find. I flirt so much because of the sun and I withdraw because of the moon.” She said with a grin, cancer and leo were a curios mix but she liked to think they meshed well in her.

He paused for a moment before answering her further questions about the relation of inner change with the changing seasons. It was in fact a new theory, one that he wasn't quite as familiar with as he wished he was. He had only read a few essays on it rescently. It seemed that spring was the most noticable season, which made sense, coming out of the hibernation effects of winter.
"Well, change is never easy, and often when part of us knows it is for the better, our outer selves which have to conciously deal with the struggles of change still resist. It is easier to remail the same then to work towards the better."
He listened as she commented on her signs and how the moon and sun effected her. It was quite the theory. He had only rescently begun to study the truthful effects of sun signs.
"I find that in the winter, when the sun signs the least, I am more withdrawn. I pull into my studies a bit more, then in the summer I am more into praticing them than studying. I think that is the closest theory I have to match yours on flirting though"

Mary nodded in assent as Kamron explained that maybe people resisted the change that they had hoped for because change is never easy. People don't want to deal with the effects of the change even though deep down they know its for the best. She could feel just how difficult change was; it expressed itself every moment she felt her head begin to swim, lost, attempting to figure out where she was and what was going on. She felt it every time she took a moment to notice the dark pit of emptiness that had taken up residence in the knot she called her stomach.
Thankful for another subject Mary listened to Kamron talk about how he is more withdrawn and into studying in the winter and active in the summer. “Well I despise the cold so I find that I too much prefer indoor activities in the winter whereas in the summer I want nothing more than to be out in the sun, or rain whatever. I adore the rain for some reason. Nothing inspires me more to go outside than fat droplets of rain coming down on a warm summers day.” Mary said closing her eyes and resting her head on the back of her chair.

He nodded in agreement to her coment about the cold. He too was not a big fan of the chiling weather. He even ventured out less with his brom in the cold months, and that was his form of stress relief.
"Yes, I find in the winte rI too prefer to stay inside, though about this time of the year I want to go out again. But once I am out, it is too cold to stay there."
He smiled slightly at her comment about the rain. It reminded him of a muggle song he had heard his parents play once.
"You remind me of a song I heard a long time ago: Singing in the Rain."

Mary knew precisely how Kamron said he couldn’t stay outside for long though he yearned to go. “Yes well the windows are deceiving; they tempt us to go outside when in reality… it’s not time yet.” She told him with a grin.
Kamron then mentioned a song that Mary couldn’t place for the life of her. “I'm afraid I have yet to be acquainted with it.” Mary told him in a very serious tone before realising how cold she must sound. In order to try and make it up she gave him a small smile in apology before making yet another sweep of the room with her eyes. A number of people had obviously left but those who remained did bring up the noise level a bit. She smirked as she watched two girls near the fire arguing over which boy in some magazine was cuter. Her amusement was spoiled though as they agreed that a third boy was the cutest of the bunch and moved on to another article.
Deciding it was time for a change of subject Mary decided to pick up the thread of conversation from before. “So do you get to fly much during the summers then?” She asked thinking of her mother and how upset she was that Mary played Quidditch and knowing that this summer her broom would most likely be placed somewhere out of her reach.

Mary truely was an intresting person to try to study. She seemed to have more personalities than anyone he knew, and could change from one to antoher so easily. It was rather fascinating, because it seemed to be triggered by next to nothing, simply a slight shift in how she perceved her sroundings.
His attention was pulled away from his psychological exploration by her question about beign able to fly.
"I will probably be able to fly nearly every day over the summer. My famiy lives in a wizarding community, so there is no worries. The only thing that may limit my pratices is if I decide to take a muggle class in order to help be acceptanced to one of their universities where I can get a degree in psychology"

Mary listened as Kamron explained that the only thing to keep him from flying would be is he took a muggle psychology course because he lived in a magical community. “See no one would ever see me if I stay on Evan’s property; but my mother will definitely take my broom away from me.” Mary said sadly.
“You know I never understood how that works. With the transcripts and all. I mean do they just call things like they say your arithmancy mark is math your potions is chemistry and things? Because something tells me we don't take the courses required for muggles…” Mary asked Kamron figuring he would understand it better seeing as he was considering it.

He nodded in agreement to her comment about wizarding courses not lining up with muggle ones. He was well aware that there would be problems, but he was willing to try and work through them. After all, the muggle world was the only one where he could further his psychology education.
"To be honest, I am not sure how they make a wizarding transcript work in the muggle world. I just started working with Jaquin in hopes me may be of some assistance. He has already taken some muggle courses and also plays on attending a muggle university."

“Suppose you had best ask Flitwick about that during your career planning session thingy eh? So is he planning on moving into the muggle world then? Like not just for University…? I couldn’t imagine leaving our world permanently; could you? Oh it would be awful I would feel so lost. I mean even during that one course during the summer… Would feel so helpless without my wand; but I wouldn’t dare carry it around lest I forget and use it. How people move from one world to the other is beyond me…” Mary began to babble again before stopping herself and smiling at Kam.
“Well best of luck though; I'm sure it will all turn out well. And if they can make the transcript thing work for Jaquin I am positive they can do it for you as well.” She said simply.
