Sighing, Riku sat down in a chair near the fireplace in the Student Lounge. She smiled to herself as she felt the warmth of the fire touch her face. She looked around the room at all the students. Some were studying while others were laughing and chatting with friends.
Riku took out one of her favorite manga books and began to read in silence letting the people in the room fade away. She tucked her right leg under her left and got in a comfortable postition as she read.

Cass escaped the common room as several first year students nearly creamed her with a bad spell. She felt them hit the portrait of the Fat Lady as it closed.
Needing to get away from her housemates in particular this evening, she decided to head for the lounge. After the huge fiasco with Pyro, everyone wanted to see how she was, or worse, tell them why she had been hanging about with a bunch of dirty Slytherins. She really didn't care about all the house rivalry. She very much enjoyed the company of her Slytherin friends, and that even included Kris. But, now that she thought about it, the only Slytherin friends she had were Pyro and Kris. Grimacing, she pushed the door to lounge open. It was rather empty tonight.
Seeing a younger student on the couch reading some manga, she piped up. " Hey, want to pay some Wizard Chess?"

Riku looked up to see a younger girl peering over at her. She smiled and nodded at the girl's question. She got up slowly, picking up her bag and holding onto her book, and sat down at a table with a chess game on it.
Being the sister that she was, Riku mostly played chess with her younger siblings. Sometimes she let them win, but most of the time she didn't. She eyed the girl and noticed the Gryffindor badge. She smirked slightly, but said nothing. She set the game up and when she was finished she gazed over at the girl.
"Ready to get killed?" Riku asked the girl with a teasing grin.

Cass laughed as the girl mentioned about beating her. " I'm not very good at the game. I just need something to do. So, yes, you will probably beat me."
She watched as the girl put up the board. " I'm Cass by the way. I feel a bit rude. I didn't introduce myself."
She leaned back in the chair and waited for the girl to make the first move. She picked up the book that the girl had been reading. " I haven't read any Manga in years."

Riku smirked and stretched a little bit as she replied, "You seem like fairly good competion." Riku bit her lip as she looked at the board.
"Oh I'm Riku. Don't feel rude because I didn't introduce myself either," Riku said smiling as she winked at the girl. Riku looked at the board then moved her piece.
"Make you move!" She said with a giggle. She looked at the book Cass was refering to. "Oh, I love them! Whenever I read them I feel as if I'm right back at home!"

Cass moved her pawn forward. " So your from Japan, right? That sound great. I've always wanted to go there, but will probably never be able to make it."
" So, how did you end up at Hogwart's? No wizarding school there?" She said with curiousity.

Riku beamed as she looked at Cass. She loved when someone walked about Japan or showed interest in it. "Japan is great. You should really go one day, if you can."
She paused for a moment than moved another pawn forward. "Well, there are wizarding schools, but not many. And my mother went to Hogwarts and she wanted at least one of her children to go here, so I decidied to go. We all get to chose what wizarding school we want to go to. My older brother went to one in Japan. I wanted to go here because I heard it was one of the best ones. Plus, I think Dumbledore is cool."

Surveying the board for a few moments, she realized she didn't have much of a move. She moved another pawn forward.
" Well, Hogwarts was really my only choice. I've always wanted to visit other schools, but that will never happen since they are all so secretive about where they are."
" So, what part of Japan are you from? I'm a local. Well, not really, I'm from Birmingham."

As she moved her pawn forward, her lips curled into a slight smile. "Checkmate," She said as she took the girls pawn.
"I'm from Tokyo, Japan. It's a pretty big city, I'm sure most Japanese you meet will either be from Tokyo or Kyoto," Riku said as she looked up at the girl and smiled.
"Now that you mention it, I don't know where my brothers and sisters school's are..." Riku said thoughtfully.

She grimaced as the girl announced a checkmate. " Really? YOu don't know where your brothers and sisters go? I didn't know they were that secretive."
She picked up a glass of water that was beside her. " I don't have any siblings, although I wished I had. I only have my cousin Craig, but he's hasn't been much of a cousin recently."
