Mia sat in the foot of the Gryffindor common room. Her diary lay open on her laid. The common room fire danced in front of her and sending warm flares her way. Closing her eyes as her hand asked she took it all in. Her stomach pushed in as she took a deep breath and she exhaled with a smile on her face. She had just been thinking about her mother and it always brought tears into the seven-teen year olds eyes. Wiping her eyes with the tips of her sleeve she wiped away a tear that almost ran down her check. Taking another deep breath she continued her writing. It was always like Mia to write than do home work. She loved to write short stories about horses, and some poems. She also wrote journal entries for the day just to express her thoughts. Clicking the end of her pen she continued to write. The fire still made the crackling sound that could sooth anyone soul.
Dear Jurnal, Oh my gosh Lou's wedding is coming up very soon. In like a couple of months! And I still havent picked out my dress. Hello I am the maid of honor. Now I have to hand out invations to my friends and I keep on puting it off until the last minute. At least I already have the shoes to wear. Its the black high heels its really pretty. Also I know what colors the maids have to wear its like Red and gold or something along those lines. Ohh man I got allot of planning. I bet Scout hasnt even found his Tex but David, his cousin, is his man of honor or something. He still has a crush on me its really annoying. Hello the boy stocks me wouldnt you get annoyed. Well here the list of friends I am inviting. Elina D.J Jasmine
Wow thats alot. Whats the deal with me? I have no friends at all. Is it becuae I am older than most people? Is it becuase people condisher me an outcast. Oh well At least I have some friends. Okay now onto the subject of my dress. I wont it to be a scarlet red long flowing dress. The strapless ones with a gold threads on the buttom. Maybe even my hair up into a stylish bun with curls. This is making me very exited once I think about it. Oh I have to tell Elina and D.J. Jasmine already knows and she already has her clothes out and ready. Man those Ravenclaws always one step ahead oh yea. Thats what I like about them. Hehe well I am off to the lounge.
Toodles, Mia
As Mia finished she moved her head so her brown hair will stay out of her face. Pulling up the tops of her sleeve she rolled them back all the way and grabbed her knees. Looking around the common room she saw no one there. It was like a desert with no living life. Sighing she looked back into the fire. It had reflected in her eyes making her look like she came from some place else. Turning away from it she turned towards the big grand father clock that was up just before the common room. It was late in the after noon and classes had just let out. Mia loved to go to classes and would never skip one ever. Most people think she is a Ravenclaw but really she is a Gryffindor. The real question that was planted in Mia's head was Why Gryffindor? She was just as loyal as Hufflepuffs, smart as witty Ravenclaws, and just a tiny bit sly like Slytherin. Mia was brave she wasn’t a lion.
Tucking her brown hair behind her ears she stood up from the ground. Her muscles made noise as she stretched into the air. Yawning she swung her shoulder bag on her shoulder and left the common room. Walking down the long corridors of the castle she saw it jump with excitement. Many little children were running and talking and just hanging out. Mia wished she could do that but she didn’t have a friend. May be it was her shyness but Mia wasn’t shy at all. She is very talktive and loves to have fun. Smiling at the little kids she had realized this was her last year at Hogwarts. The thought never came to mind until now. Panic seemed to rush through her as she tired to think of her future. Many people planned this out before their seventh year but Mia just had to put it off until the last minute.
Wiping a band of sweat that gathered up on her fore head she turned the corner. The sounds of her shoes made noise and she liked the noise. It sounded like hooves chattering up the roads near her farm. Smiling as she remembered Heartland. A great horse farm where Mia and Ty helped out with damaged horses that seem to not trust many people. Tucking hair behind her ear she opened the door to the lounge. Looking around she noticed it was full of excitement. This made Mia happy as she took a seat on the couch and crossed her legs as she looked into the fire. It was like a cure for anyone in stress.

Dana walked towards the lounge with a note-book in her hand where she made some small notes, while muttering apologizes to the people she bumped into, as she wasn’t really watching where she was going. She stumbled into the lounge and walked towards a corner of couches, when she suddenly stumbled over someone’s feet.
Yelping loudly Dana lost her balance and watched as her note-book went flying. The sixth year boy, Dana didn’t really know, blushed and apologized quickly, while helping Dana on her feet and asking is she was alright. Dana sent a half-pouting smile to the guy and watched with a small shake of her head as the guy blushed even more and then hurried off. “Guys,” Dana muttered looking around to see where her notebook had flown to.
She noticed it laying half under a couch where some older girl sat. While brushing her skirt clean from any dust that might be on it, Dana walked closer and crouched to pick up the note-book: “Hi. Please tell me you weren’t hit with this? I’ve run into enough people already and I seriously wouldn’t want to cause some serious injury to anyone know that I’ve finally reached this place and are planning on sitting down.”
Dana skimmed through the note-book to see if any of the sheets had wrinkled or torn off and sighed happily, noticing there weren’t. Moving her eyes back to the girl Dana smiled and held out her hand: “Well, hopefully I didn’t cause any damage. I’m Dana – and the owner of this flying note-book.”
Cedric sat in the boys dormatories angry and flustered. In his hand was a quidditch magazine. Reading it aloud to himself for the five hundredth time Cedric frowned as he read. "In an interview with the Bulgarian and the Irish national quidditch teams this was said. 'Yes we were both at the Slytherin Rvenclaw math at Hogwarts. We saw tremendous talent and are hoping to see more out of the players there.' Both teams were there scouting for new talent. Slytherin won thanks to a snitch capture by Draco Malfoy." Cedric closed the magazine and threw it onto his bed angrily.
Cedric couldn't believe it. There were scouts at the game and he didn't even get to play. He was furious. Of course he had already had a line up with the Foulmouth Flacons but if he could get on a better team he would. Looking down at the floor Cedric stood up and walked over to Fuego. The phoenix looked up at him and Cedric said "Here have some more to eat." Cedric threw an herb into the bowl and turned around. Just as he was begning to walk out of the dormatories an owl flew in with a letter. Cedric opened the letter and read it to himsel.
Dear Cedric, I am very dissapointed in you. There were scouts at the game and you didn't even play. You need to play better in practice or you will ammount to nothing. From Dad.
Cedric looked down at the letter and threw it on the ground angrily. Cedric was enraged. Pulling out his wand Cedric pointed it at the letter and it burst into flames. Turning around angrily Cedric stormed out of the room and down the stairs.
Walkling through the common room a first year ran into Cedric. "Get out of my way you prat." Cedric said pushing the boy to the floor. Cedric walked out of the common room and into the halls. Walking with a quick and angry pace Cedric had no idea where he was going. Walking Cedric thought to himself. I can't believe he would go that far as to say I need to play harder. I sacrifice my life for quidditch and he want's more. Walking down a flight of stairs Cedric headed towards the student lounge.
Walking in Cedric looked around at the people in there. Of course no one he knew. Cedric saw two girls sitting near the fire and Cedric thought he would go sit next to htem. Maybe torment them. Sitting down Cedric looked at them and then thought of Jersey. Suddenly he began to calm down but he was still angry. Looking at the girls he said "Well a flying notebook indeed. Seems you need to get better balance."

Mia crossed her legs and her foot taped in the air slowly. Opening up her note book she clicked the end of her pen and began to write. It was a short story she had been coming up with in a while and was inspried by D.J a fellow fifth year Gryffindor to which whom Mia adored more than ever. A smile came onto her face a she wrote. The fire than continued to roar in front of her and send a blast of warm air towards Mia direction. Feeling some what warm inside her smiled even more and continued her writing. Tucking her brown hair behind her ears she wondered what to write next. The character in her story was about this young girl who was hit by her father and her mother had gone missing. The girl had now run away and was trying to find work. Mia didn’t know what else to write from there. Her mind was blank and her hand hurt from the writing. Sighing she continued to write any ways. Just putting down any ideas or such.
After about finishing a page she noticed something fly her way. Setting down her pencil she saw a note book right by her foot and almost hit her. Looking around for the owner of the note book Mia wondered if she should pick it up or not. But just than a girl came over towards her and said it was her and introduced herself as Dana. Setting aside her note book she looked up at the younger girl with a smile on her face. "That’s alright it didn’t hit me. My names Maria Fleming but you can call me Mia. So what are you doing in the lounge trying to write as well?" Mia asked very interested in what she had to say. Maybe Dana would be one of her new friends. Feeling a jolt of happiness inside of her she smiled and pushed down her eagerness. It was one thing that could scare anyone was when she was hyper. Epically after drinking caffeine she was really hyper. Only Lou and Sorya had experienced this before and they liked the side of her a little bit.
Moving over on the couch so Dana could sit down as well. But her smile faded as a Slytherin came up to them. She knew that not all Slytherins were mean but this one looked mad. Mia could tell by the fire in his eyes. Looking at the boy she rolled her eyes and looked at Dana. Ignoring his comment she smiled up at her. "So Dana are you in the Ravenclaw house? You seem like one and that’s a good thing. I know a lot of Ravens like Jasmine Anderson and Elina Hill. There nice people but you seem nice as well." Mia said taking out her wand and two hot chocolates appeared in her hands. Handing on to her new friend she smiled, "Here you are."

“Hello Mia. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Dana sat down next to her smiling as if she had been trying to write something as well, “No, I’m not writing any story now, if you are wondering about that. More like sketches and plans for a party at Valentine’s day – I talked with the staff and I was allowed to have a small festive for friends here. I’ll decorate and clean and take the responsibility should anything go wrong. You are welcomed to come.”
“Oh, thank you,” Dana smiled gratefully and pulled one of her legs under her as she accepted the hot chocolate from Mia, “As for writing. Well, I used to do it more when I was younger. Even had some of my shorter stories published and they are still up at my grand-parents bookstore back in France. But do you write? I’d love to read it sometime, if you don’t mind.”
“Yep, I’m a Raven. Probably because I’m hopelessly addicted to books,” Dana rolled her eyes with a soft laugh, “But I like it. And I know both Jasmine and Elina. They’re great girls.”
Dana then raised her eye-brow towards the Slytherin boy who had joined them. She wasn’t offended the slightest bit – a bit amused rather and it showed in her voice: “As for my balance. Well, I suppose I could be better. But then again – I wouldn’t have bumped into that guy then. He didn’t look half that bad.” Dana glanced back to where she had stumbled at smiled slyly recalling how the guy had blushed. She seemed to have that effect on guys lately.
Dana’s eyes flickered back to the boy ad she tilted her head in a royal fashion. She hadn’t been brought up by her pure-blooded grand-mother, who had centuries of pure blood-line behind her for nothing. “I don’t recall knowing you though. Care for the introductions?” Dana asked calmly, wondering if the guy would get angry or not. Then again - with his comment he had asked for it.

Cedric gave a wild look fury at the girl who ignored him. Just as Cedric was about to say something the ohter girl interupted him. "Yes it does look like you could do better. And as for that guy, you could probably do better to becasue not only does he not look half bad, but from that I know he looks half blood." Cedric let a huge evil grin across his face. He had loved the comment he had just made. "But then again maybe thats what you are intrested in. I don't know about the mixes these days. All the gilrs seem to want to get with any mix of blood they can." Cedric couldn't help but let out a pety laugh.
"Im Cedric wood. I know who you are Dana you are in on of my classes. But as for this one" Cedric said shooting a look at Mia "I have no idea who you are." Cedric sat in the chair silently waiting for her reply. After about the first 5 seconds Cedric pulled out his wand and with a flick a cupcake a boy was about to eat floated over to him. "Hey that's mine." the boy said . Looking at him evily Cedric said "It's mine now. Now get out of here." Cedric laughed as the boy ran out. Then when he finished the cupcake he looked at Mia and said "Well I don't have all day."

Mia smiled at Dana as she said she was a Ravenclaw. She could tell because most Ravens have that voice that says they might know more than you. All Mia could do was smile and her face lit up with joy. "Yes most of my friends are in the Ravenclaw house. Let’s just say I don’t know why I am in Gryffindor." Mia said looking down at the flour. Thoughts rushed through her mind about what she had just said. 'Why am I in Gryffindor' she heard the thoughts echo inside. But really why was she? Mia wasn’t that brave and more like a Raven always hiding herself behind books. Tucking some hair behind her ears she continued to smile at Dana. Maybe she could be one of Mia's new found friend.
Than she was dragged out of her thoughts as Cedric started to make fun of Half bloods. She glared at the Slytherin as he was like the rest. "My names Maria Fleming Gryffindor seventh year. So little fifth year listen up I been here longer than you and don’t mess with half bloods or muggle borns. There are more of them than you so I would keep that little big mouth of yours shut." Mia hissed at the boy. She was not in the mood to deal with a Slytherin. Looking back into the fire Mia took a deep breath and smiled. Her mood was lifted and she didnt feel that angry at the moment. Huminh a tone lightly she looked at Dana to see what she had to say about her comment. Mia just had to get it out that not every muggle born or half blood was wirthless. Heck she was a muggle born and she knew more hexes and spells than the young Slytherin.
After her comment she looked off into space and let the fire in her calm down. It wasn’t like Mia to get all mad like that but around mean Slytherins she was. Did he really think he was a king because he was a pure blood? Hello maybe he should shot back into reality. Mia rolled her eyes as she saw he took a cup cake from the little boy. She felt bad and walked over towards the victim. Knelling on her knees she wiped the tears from the boy and smiled at him. "Don’t cry now here I will give you two cup cakes." Mia said taking out her wand and two chocolate cup cakes came into the boy’s hands. Giving him a hug she pushed him along lightly as he walked out of the student lounge . Mia felt warm inside as she sat down on the couch and knew that she made the Slytherin mad but could care less.

“I’m a half-blood as well, you know. My mother eloped with my father, who was a muggle, even though my mother’s blood-line was pure for centuries. So I honestly don’t mind half-bloods and muggle-borns. Besides- pure-bloods would be extinct by now if half-bloods and muggle-borns wouldn’t bring new blood in. If you still haven’t understood that, then that’s really your problem.”
“Most of your friends are Ravenclaws? That’s funny,” Dana laughed, “Most of mine are Hufflepuffs and Slytherins. TO of my best friends – who are almost like real family – are Slytherins. Although I do know some people from Gryffindor as well. But they are mainly younger ones.”
Dana frowned as Cedric pulled over a young boys cupcake and smiled watching Mia handle the situation. She had beat her by a second in getting up. “That was great. Really improved the guys day. See – that action just showed why you are a Gryffindor,” Dana said with a smile as Maria returned and Dana made a mental note to slip something into Cedric’s food some time.
“You are probably that guys personal hero now. At least for the next hour or so,” Dana added with a broad smile making a half-bow, without standing up, “It’s an honor to know you milady.”
Dana grinned and chuckled: “I always try to help first years around here as much as I can. I remember how scary it was to be alone and lost in the castle, when I was 11, even though I had a cousin to get lost with most of the time. So now I try to help younger years as much as I can. With moving around the castle and homework.”
