It's Good To Be Back (Katie + Anyone else)

As soon as the group arrive back from Weinig Zug Mary tossed her bag on her bed and began to walk away. She noticed a few things tumble out and felt guilty leaving the mess there because she wasn't sure if anyone in her room was a neat freak. So Mary instinctively fixed the problem; she closed the hangings blocking the mess from sight. Mary smiled to herself, happy to be back at Hogwarts, and left the room. As Mary entered the Slytherin common room she looked around; but not seeing anyone she knew she left. Mary then made her way to the student lounge.

Mary stepped into the cozy room, but again did not see anyone she knew. She contemplated leaving but decided against it. Mary ploped down in a chair by the fire where it was nice and warm. She moved around a little to get comfortable then took a book out of her purse. It was a book on King Arthur her friend Jasmine had given her for Christmas; she was about half way through and quite interested in it.

Katie sat on her bed unpacking her clothes. She didn’t go to the Weinig Zug trip due to some thing that she really didn’t like to talk about. Katie looked down at her small hand and her fingers were healing. How could she be so stupid and started to burn herself and deal with the pain? Why didn’t she comfort it to Jordan, Liz, or Amelia? They could have helped her stopped until she did anything worse. Katie sighed and pulled on her scarlet colored Gap sweat shirt she got once shopping in the mall. She was searching for the new Katie the one that can be girly and boyish at the same time. It worked she got some skirts, tank tops, nice winter clothes, and even cut her hair and made it stylish. Katie sighed and looked at her hair in the mirror in front of her. Was she taking her change to far? Jordan had only cut her hair but Katie she changed her whole look and her personality. But she had been through a lot in her younger years and she couldn’t handle it anymore. Katie sighed and grabbed her guitar and Gryffindor colored shoulder bag and walked out of the common room and down the flights of stairs.

As Katie walked down the corridor alone she started to think of what might happen the following year. She wonted to try out as beater on the Gryffindor team and it looked really fun to go around and hit the buldger. Also Katie now had a lot of energy and she could play all day and not get tried. Maybe Jordan will teach Katie over the summer? Katie and Jordan was sister but Jordan had adopted her just a few months ago. With a heavy sigh she opened the wooden oak doors to the student lounge. She skipped inside and looked around for her friends. She didn’t see anyone where were they? Katie just shrugged it off and walked over towards the couch and sat down next to a third year Slytherin. Katie smiled at the girl because she knew that not all Slytherins were mean. Pheobe Xiong and Perseus Feynman were very nice Slytherins. Maybe this girl was nice. "Ello there my names Katie Davenport what’s your?" Katie asked the girl setting her guitar down next to her. She put her music on her lap and turned to the girl and smiled brightly.

Mary was a few words into her books when she noticed somebody sit down near her. It was another third year Mary knew from seeing in class was a Griffindor named Katie or Kathy or something like that. Mary was about to return to the book when the girl introduced herself as Katie Davenport. "Hey, I'm Mary Evans." she responded. Mary then put her book away back in her purse and smiled at the girl.

Mary was about to ask Katie about her break when her friend Dana walked in. "One second" Mary said to Katie. Mary then sat up in her chair & began waving her arms at Dana. "Oi, Dana. Over here." When she had caught the other girls attention Mary turned back to Katie. "Sorry about that. That is my friend Dana. Dana this is Katie. Not sure if you two know each other." Mary said with an embarrassed grin at her improper, even rude, behaviour.

Dana entered the Student lounge and smiled as she saw Mary waving at her. She walked towards Mary immediately, feeling glad she saw a friend there.
“Hi, Mary, it’s good to see you again. Nice to meet you too, Katie,” Dana said with a smile sitting down on the thick carpet in front of the fire-place and smiling up at the other girl’s.

“I just came back frankly. Went to visit my grand-parents in France during the vacation and the weather there was much better,” Dana grinned happily at Mary before turning her eyes to Katie. She seemed somewhat young. A first year, probably.

“So how was Weinig Zug if you went? I know Mary did,” Dana asked curiously.

Katie continued to smile at the thrid year and as she turned towrd the fifth year that came over towards them. Katie than started to think that they were pretty good friends. She than wished that Jordan, Liz, Ameila, Paravti, or Justin would come in already. She needed to talk to her friends espically Paravti, a sixth year Gryffindor. They havent talked in a long time and Katie was wondering if she was hiding from her or something. With a heavy sigh she picked up her guitar and started to play. The sweet meoldy filled the room and her hands gluided over the introument. Katie closed her eyes as she played and enjoyed the sweetness of the music.

She than noticed the two girls asking her how her holiday was. "Lets just say eventfull." Katie said not uring to say more. She didnt wont to talk about her holiday it was just to painful and it brought tears into her eyes. Katie didnt brother to cry and continued to look at her music and continued playing. She was playing one of Vanessa Links songs that she gave Katie. Katie thought the music was gorgoues and lovly at the same time. Her eyes still closed and her hands still gliding over the guitar as the music seemed to fill within her.

Dana raised an eye-brow as she noticed that Katie didn’t want to speak about her vacation, but she didn’t press the matter. Instead she just listened as Katie played some song on her guitar, rather liking the music.

“Does it has words also?” Dana quietly asked – she liked to sing and had a rather nice voice as well. There were better voices naturally, but that didn’t really bother Dana. At muggle world with friends she liked karaoke nights and this song – it sounded awesome. At least the tune was.

Dana seated herself more comfortably and silently listened to Katie’s guitar, waiting for the other two girls to pick up the conversation.

Katie began playing some music and Mary sat back to listen. Katie then said that her break was eventful and left it there. As she continued playing Mary turned to Dana. "How are your grandparents doing?" Mary asked. "Did you have a nice trip? Switzerland was so much fun. What did you do in France. I mean I know you are not exactly a tourist or anything but... what did you do?" she continued wanting to know everything about her friend's holiday.

“My grandparents – they are good. Happy. Grandma takes care of their garden and grandpa reads and drops by the bookstore every day,” Dana said with a soft smile, thinking of their grandparents.

“We traveled to Cotê d’Azur and spent a week there. Enjoyed the warm weather and local entertainments – I met some nice tourists from the States there and we hung out together. Enjoyed the spa and went clubbing or karaoke-singing at nights,” Dana smiled and stretched almost lazily, “The rest of the time I spent at Paris at our house.”<br>
“I’m glad to hear Weinig Zug was nice though. I’m not that fond of cold though,” Dana admitted with a small smile, “The castle is fantastic though. I’ve spend a holiday there earlier, that’s partly why I wasn’t that tempted to go.”<br>
“But enough about me, I’m not that interesting of a person. What were you up to. Or what are you planning to do now that school is up again. Think there will be some ball soon again?” Dana asked with a shrug as she summoned mugs with hot chocolate, “Drink?”<br>

[VanessaLink]

Vanessa entered the student lounge, her eyes weary and her mind a blast with music. She was listening to her headphones, and had just come in from a jog. She was getting more into physical activities, then anything else. The warmth was welcoming and it surged through her body, leaving some heat in her as well.

With a sip of her water bottle, she looked around the lounge. Seeing if she could spot anyone she knew. With a smile she recognized Katie in a small group of people. She didn't recognize two of the girls, but Katie stuck out. Strumming on her guitar, just waiting to be rescued. Vanessa closed thetop of her water bottle and walked over to her friend with a smile on her face.

"Whatcha playing Katie?" She asked in greeting. She pulled over a chair next to Katie and listened to the first year play miracously on the guitar that Vanessa had grown to love.

Jaft was bord of just sitting around reading, even though he liked learning about transfiguration, he wanted to make some friends so he decidied to go to the student lounge. When he went inside he heard music and girls talking, he didnt know how to introduce himself so he stood by himself for a little bit trying to figure out how to start talking to them.

Mary sat back with her hot chocolate as a girl she didn’t know came in and talked to Katie. "Thanks" she said to Dana as she took a sip. She then heard the doors creak open and again and saw a boy her age walk in. She did not know who he was but she recognized from class that he was a Ravenclaw her age. He came and stood near them and she waited for him to speak. An introduction did not seem to be forthcoming so Mary decided to take the initiative. “Hey. I’m Mary Evans.” She said to him motioning to a seat near herself. “Come, sit, talk.” She said as forward as ever.

"Hallo Mary" said Jaft "Im Jaft pleased to meet you." He said with a smile as he walked over to the fire place. "How you all doing this fine day?" he asked pulling up a chair.

[Mary Evans]

“It is a pleasure to meet you as well.” Mary said pleased at his reaction. “I am doing just swell and so far as I know the lovely Dana here is as well. The other two I can not really speak for seeing as we have not really spoken.” She continued referring to each of the girls in there little area. “This is Dana by the way, that is Katie with the guitar, and that is stranger.” Mary said as she motioned to each girl in turn without pointing because it is rude. She giggled when she referred to the girl as stranger, she did not mean it to be rude or anything, she was simply showing her ignorance as to the girl’s identity. “So how was your break Jaft?” Mary asked as she picked her book back up and placed it closed in her lap.

"It was pretty good " He replied giggling at her comment,"all i did was sit around doing nothing, well mostly reading and catching up on some work i needed to do "he said with a smile looking at the other girls in the room. " How was yours" He asked , " and how do you know Dana?"

Mary thought about her break for a moment with a smile on her face. “Well my break was just perfect. I went to Weinig Zug and it was so beautiful there. I meet so many people as well it was just wonderful. It was nice because everyone put all this silly house politics nonsense aside and so I got to talk to people without them getting all upset that I’m in Slytherin. I just had so much fun, I went shopping at least twice, went skiing, went on an adventure, oh what else did I do? Well it doesn’t matter, all that does is that I had a blast.” Mary babbled before remember that he asked about her acquaintance with Dana.

“Dana and I meet last year. I can’t remember exactly but I think I was lost as per usual and ran into her.” Mary said with a giggle. “She helped me find my way back to the entrance hall and we chatted the whole way and just hit it off. We have been good friends ever since. Unless there is something you’re not telling me.” Mary joked squinting her eyes at her friends as if suspicious.

Noticing her her glare he said that he has seen her around just never talked to her. "Why would you suspect something like that?" he said with a smerk. " Just wanted to know how a 3rd year and a 5th year got be being friends, and how do you know Katie?" He said quickly

“Oh no I’m not suspicious. It was just a joke, sorry I tend to goof around sometimes.” Mary said laughing at his sudden discomfort. Mary always found it odd when people did not understand her sarcasm. "But most my friends are different ages than me, not sure why though. I guess who you spend time in class with doesn’t matter, its all about who you run into. Katie on the other hand I meet maybe five minutes before yourself. I was sitting in here and she introduced herself, I know little more about her than her name and that she is a talented guitar player.” Mary said.

[Copenhagen]

Justin Lionheart was walking around ,thinking about what he should do. Maybe he could let off some more fireworks or go to the student lounge. He then looked around and smiled. He would'nt let off fireworks ,but he would do something better. He looked around and found the secret door he was looking for. He looked around from side to side and saw that noone was there. He turned the knob ,entered and shut it quickly. (Hmm ,what to choose what to choose.) he thought to himself. He saw what he was looking for and grabbed it. He opened the door and stepped out quickly. Noone was in the corridor with him ,so he walked down the corridor as silently as he could.

He walked into the Great Hall. Noone was in there either ,which confundled him. So he continued on his way to the Slytherin table and placed the package on the bottomk of the bench right at the front. He put a permanent sticking charm on it and walked out of the Great Hall. He was grinning to himslef. The package would go off ,without any sound ,as soon as someone sat down there. It would make the bench less sturdy ,so that when the bench was almost full it would collapse. He grinned and continued on his way to the Student Lounge.

Upon entering the lounge he saw that there were many students there. He knew two of the people ,Katie and Vanessa ,but did'nt know the other three. SO he walked up and said " Hey Katie ,Vanessa, hows it hanging?" then to the other three he said " Hi I'm Justin Lionheart ,and you three are?" in a cheery voice.

" I goof off to most of the time when i know the people im around pretty good then i can really be myself and i dont know that many people around here." Jaft said kind of sadly, " but i least i came here and met you, and Dana, but i was thinking of exploring the school a bit more to see if i can find any secrets it hides..... do you happen to know any?" He said excitedly.

Then remembering that Mary said something about Katie he said "She is very good does she write them or what?"

"Hi Justin Lionheart im Jaft why are you so cheerful?" said Jaft holding out his hand for a handshake
