Kat walked into the student lounge with a huge roll of paper tucked under her arms, as she balanced some paints and pencils and many other things in her arms as well.
Kat walked towards one side of the room and rather gratefully dropped the things in her arms on the floor.
The paper, Kat rolled open was rather large – 2*1 meters. Kat placed some random stuff on the corners of the paper, so it wouldn’t roll together again and stood up, biting her lower lip and looking at the paper.
She – or rather her brother Jake – had volunteered her to draw one of the posters for the animal shelter, Kat sometimes worked at during summers as a volunteer. Kat absolutely loved animals, as did his brother, so she didn’t really mind the work. Just the fact that in reality wasn’t that great of a drawer. She woud manage nicely enough though, Kat reassured herself.
Kat sighed once more and sat down on the floor next to the paper picking up one pencil and sketching the outline of a tree quickly. Kat had thought abnout the poster for some time already and had decided to put children of different ages and older people as well out into the nature with dogs playing around them, cat’s and kittens walking by or other animals with different people.
Kat started to sketch the outlines of a laughing girl under the tree with a cat purring on her lap. She draw the outline so the figure would be more or less accurate, before starting to turn a bit bigger attention to smaller details like the clothes the girl would wearing and her face.
Kat draw, glancing around the common room from time to time, to see if any of her friends were there, who wouldn’t mind keeping her company for at least a little bit. Kat wouldn’t really mind if someone would have wanted to give her a hand with the huge paper, that still needed to be covered with animals and humans.
