Elizabeth had just come back from DADA class and thought about going to the student lounge to do a little homework and hang out. She ran all the way there eager to talk to her friends. She quickly glanced around and saw that her friends weren't there, so she sat down in a comfy chair and pulled out a book that she was currently reading. It was a book that was given to her by her muggle mother. It was entitled How to be a Good Lawyer. her mother just happened to be a lawyer (what a coinsidence ). The book was about 901 pages long and very heavy. It was taking Elizabeth a long time to read since it was so big, bulky, and boring. She didn't want to be a lawyer, but was only reading it to make her mother happy plus it reminded her of home.

Jordan looked over Elizabeth's shoulder, a smile on her face as she read the title of the book. Jordan had jsut escaped the cold and saw her friend Elizabeth reading by the fire, Elizabeth and Jordan hadn't really talked much, but Jordan had heard a lot about her from Katie.
"How to be a good lawyer? Already, choosing your career choice Liz?" She asked as she sat down in the chair next to her. Jordan smiled at Liz and pulled her feet up under her, and covering up with the warm woolen blanket by the chair, sighing with warmth.

Elizabeth looked up and saw Jordan standing there. "no, this," said Elizabeth as she held out the book, "this is what my mum wants me to be." said Elizabeth with a sigh. Elizabeth gently placed the heavy book on the floor and turned towards Jordan.
"My mom wanted me to be a big time lawyer, she wanted me to live her life, not my own life. She dosn't much approve of Hogwarts and told me I wouldn't go over her dead body, but my dad canged her mind. I guess people will still listen to one anoter even after divorce." Elizabeth sighed again.
"so whatcha been up to latley?" She asked as she pulled her hair behind her ears and put her hands between her knees.

Jordan smiled at Liz, she knew exactly what Liz meant. Jordan's mum had done the same thing, No Mi'ja, you're going to be a great artist, not some witch. Though, luckily, her brother Chris had stepped in and told her mom to leave her alone and let her go. Jordan chuckled softly, remembering the smirk her mother had given him that night.
"I know what you mean. Parents right?" Jordan pulled the blanket up closer around her chin and smiled, her eyes aglow. She then thought about Liz's question, what had she been up to? Her mind had been in such a daze the past week, preparing for Christmas...calming Kaite down, buying Christmas presents, thinking of friends...etc. It was so messey in her mind that she couldn't even think straight!
"Oh, umm drawing mostly. Doing some shopping, planning visits all that jazz." Jordan answered, a smile showing her dimples with brilliance. She laid her head on her knee and looked at the Gryffindor, a question in her eyes.
"And you?" She asked back, keeping the conversation going to what seemed to be a progressing friendship.

"Yeah, right parents." Elizabeth said in an almost disgusted voice.
Elizabeth flashed Jordan a wicked smile at the question. "Well... I've been thinking about boys, homework, boys, friends, talking to boys, writing in my journal, reading, making friends, day dreaming about boys, and that sort of thing. But mostly I've been trying to figure out how to get noticed." She smiled again and glanced at the fire wondering what to say.
"So do you have a lot of homework?" asked Elizabeth, although she knew what the answer might be.
She sat up straighter and lokked Jordan directly in the eyes. "Katie talks a lot about you and how she's excited to be your sister..." Elizabeth paused and continued, " are you taking her in because of her father and... and..." Elizabeth didn't want to say the word, it was to painful for her to think about even though she wasn't the one going through it. "I think I know because one night Katie and I had an argument and she ended up showing me... where, where.... she was hit. I'm sorry I even brought this up, it is none of my buisness." finished Elizabeth. She looked away completley embarressed and knew that that was the wrong thing to say.

Jordan eyes danced with laughter as Liz mentioned boys so many times in one sentence. Her smile faded as Liz mentioned homework, how she despised the stuff.
"Actually n-" But, Jordan was interuppted. Elizabeth was talking about Katie, and excitement, and her father, and that she shouldn't have brought it up. Jordan shook her head sadly and looked into the fire.
"Katie's been through, a lot. A lot is an understatement of what she's been through. And I'm glad she's excited to be my sister, because I'm excited to be her sister. I've never had a sister before. And it's okay you brought it up. It's something I've been needing to talk about. Yes, I took her in because of her father, who wants to live with a wretched man like that?" Jordan responded, slowly as she could think the words over in her mind before she spoke anything. Surely Liz would tell Katie about this conversation between the two, and even if she didn't Jordan knew she herself would be sharing this conversation with her newfound sister.

Elizabeth was glad that Jordan was not mad at her and looked up again. "I don't see how anyone could do something like that to their own daughter." said Elizabeth in a sorrowful voice. "But too many children go through that, and it's not right."
Elizabeth looked down at her knees and then back up at Jordan. "anyone who does something as horrible as that deserves what they get... a life time of pain and misery and like I always say... An eye for an eye, which means they deeserve to be killed or abused or badly hurt the same way they did to that person." Again she looked down, tears were in her eyes as she thought about Katie.
"Katie dosen't deserve it... no one does." Elizabeth wiped away the tears and looked back at Jordan. "So do you wanna talk about something a little more up lifting?"

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, Confuscious. Interesting you said that." Jordan commented on her saying. She smiled with joy as Liz asked if she would like to change the subject. Jordan nodded and pulled the blanket tighter around herself and smiled as the warmth began to fill her heart.
"Sure, but what should we talk about. Oh I know, boys. You seem to be doing a lot of activities that involve either thinking about them, or day dreaming about them. Anyone in particular you were day dreaming about?" Jordan asked, a mischevious twinkle in her eye as she thought she had a clue on who Liz might like. It was interesting to see how many people started to date while they were at school. There was Liam and Amelia. What seemed to be Sethia and Payton, and a few others. This surprised Jordan to no end, really. Who was going to like her, maybe that was why it bugged her. No one could like her, she was just someone the boys want to be friends with...just friends.

Elizabeth blushed a deep, deep red when Jordan asked her who she liked. "I like Ron Weasley." She replied. Elizabeth smiled slyly. "who do you like?" She really wanted to know who the great trouble maker liked.

Jordan smiled brightly. She had known it! Sure, she never saw Elizabeth around Ron, but honestly anyone could like Ron! Who wouldn't?! But, her smile dimmed slightly as Elizabeth asked who she liked. Her head was lowered and her eyes' sparkle faded. Dillion. But, like she had thought before, they were good friends. And maybe that's all he saw her as, good friends.
"Oh, no one really. Well, that was a total lie. I do like someone, but there isn't anyway he could like me back. We're too good of friends." Jordan half-answered, her sparkly eyes returning with glass. She raised her head and managed a small, sad smile at the thought of Dill not liking her. Others insisted that he did, but she wasn't so sure.

Elizabeth knew what it was like to like someone alot and not be liked back, of course none of her crushes had ever been "friends".
Elizabeth gave Jordan a bright smile. "I think you should tell this guy what your feelings are, he may feel the same way about you. I know it's hard and your probably afraid he's going to reject you, but if thats the worst that could happen I say go for it!" Elizabeth knew that feeling of rejection from some stupid, immiture muggle boys she had had crushes on, but they were all stupid, and she got over it in time.

Jordan looked up and shook her head vigourisly at Elizabeth. No! That wasn't the worse that could happen! No, if it was only rejection Jordan was afraid of, liking Dill would be so much easier!
"Oh no! Elizabeth you don't understand! I'm not scared of rejection, lord knows I have had enough of that! But, I am afraid that if he does reject me, there will be like this big awkwardness between us. I don't want that, no. Rejection i can handle." Jordan exclaimed, a worried look in her eyes.

Elizabeth nodded in a understanding way. "So your afraid you could lose your friend forever." she knew that that must be it, what else could Jordan be afraid of. Elizabeth knew how awful it was to lose a good friend and felt sorry for Jordan because Jordan loved her friend, but was afraid to tell him for fear of a good friendship breaking.
"That must be awfully hard for you. Life just isn't fair sometimes is it?"

Jordan shook her head and looked at Katie. Losing a friendship was probably the worst thing in the world. Awkwardness wasn't something that normally frightened Jordan, but lately it has been the biggest thing she had been afraid of.
"When I was little, my mum used to say 'Who said life was fair?' And I would simply reply, 'I did!' I wish it were that easy now. Oi, it was much more easier when boys had cooties!" Jordan exclaimed as she grabbed a pillow and covered her face with it. Her eyes were watering slightly, but she wouldn't let tears fall...no reason to. It was only a boy. Just a boy. There really had no reason for her to cry.
Jordan rarely cried, most the time it was when she lost someone she loved dearly. Maybe that was why she was crying now. Because, her idea about Valentines day, was either going to scare him off...or bring him closer then scare him off.

Elizabeth looked into Jordan's sad eyes. It was hard to know what Jordan was going through, since Elizabeth had never been through it, but she knew it must be hard.
"wanna change the subject again?" asked Elizabeth hopefully. "What's your favorite color, and how does it represent you?" she asked with a big smile.

Jordan put the pillow down as Elizabeth changed the subject again. She smiled as Elizabeth asked what her favorite color was. Yellow. But why did it represent her? Hmm, deep thought was going to go into that. She sat there, a moment trying to think why yellow. Then it dawned on her..
"Yellow. Because, I'm always so bubbily and bright, and that's what the color yellow respresents." Jordan answered, her words slipping over each other.

Elizabeth siled at the mention of Jordan's favorite color. "Well Just in case you were wondering my favorite color is blue."
She paused for a minute as she thought of how it represented her. "It represents me because... um... well blue is supposed to be the color of sadness right? well I change moods often, but most of the time I'm sad. I don't know why... I just am. Also the color reminds me of the sky and since my last name is sky... well you get the point." Elizabeth smiled and inched towards the fire a little bit, waiting for Jordan's thought on this.

Jordan smiled, that made total and complete sense. In a way, that was hard for most people to understand and know. But, Jordan knew perfectly well what Elizabeth meant.
"I like blue, but not as much as yellow! My cousin used to call it Lello, because she couldn't say her Y's correctly." Jordan said with a laughing smile. She could remember clearly, Dixie walking around saying "Lello, and po! Lello, and po!" Po was her dog, it was a yellow lab, and once Dix had figured this out, she had put the two words together.
