Dear Mummy and Daddy,
I'm having a great time here at Hogwarts. Some of the classes are hard, but I've met some nice kids here. Miss and Chiff got away, but a kind Slytherin who I think is named Kris found them and gave them to me. There were no openings on the Quidditch team, so I haven't got to fly on my broom yet. I think I might be able to fly when the quidditch field isn't being used, though.
How is everything down there? I can't wait to visit you, but I might not be able to until Saturday. Can we go to the Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes? Tell Anne I love her and I'll see her on Saturday!

Dear older sister,
Mummy and Daddy were practising spells today and Mum accidently got turned into a toad. There at St Mungo's, so I'm being babysat by batty old Mrs Hoblin. I wish Mum had chosen someone else to babysit me. Oh great, Mrs Hoblin is calling me. See ya on Saturday, and keep your fingers crossed that Mum and Dad are back by then.

What spell did Mum use? Are Mum and Dad back yet? If they are, don't show them this letter because I want to tell you something. I took my broom outside last night and took a small little flight around the school grounds. I almost got caught by a teacher though, and I'm glad that I didn't or I would have been in a lot of trouble.
See? Mum would ground me, and if you, my own little sister, want to survive your first year at Hogwarts you will not show mum.

Anyway, I don't know what spell mum used, but it's none of my business. They're back at home now, so you'll probably get a letter from them next.

Your Mum didn't mean what she said. You can stay at Hogwarts until the weekend, then come home and visit. I want you to not go outside your common room or dormitory after curfew. If you don't, we'll go on holiday to Egypt or Italy or one of those other places you've gone on about.

Guess what? I met Harry Potter! We took Arithmancy class together today, but then he jumped up and mentioned a kidnapping. I was pretty nervous, actually, that it might be someone I know. Who would kidnap anybody? Could it be Voldemort? I know that he's back, but... Would he really kidnap someone?

You had better stay in your common room or travel with groups of people. There's safety in numbers. Yes, it could have been Voldemort, but don't you worry about it. Make sure you visit soon, we haven't seen you in awhile.

Mum and Dad,
I feel better about Harry's outburst in Arithmancy after writing to you about it. I've made two friends in my year, Faith Oraco and Cassandra Logton. They're really nice and do you think they could come for dinner sometime? They would love it. Cass is on the quidditch team, so she probably wouldn't mind listening to news about the Quidditch teams that Dad manages at the Ministry, and Faith probably wouldn't either. And Mum, they would probably love your cooking. Could they come over for supper some time?
