Fall at Hogwarts meant several things; cold winds would soon blast the grounds forcing students inside and shortly after the grounds would be blanketed in a beautiful white sheet of snow. Despite being forced indoors for the next several months, the fall season didn’t disturb many students because it signaled something else, something more important; the beginning of the Quidditch Season!
It was a warm and sunny morning when Madam Hooch emerged from the castle and walked towards Hogwarts’ Stadium. Hardly a cloud in the sky could be seen and only the slightest of breeze would play today. Top notch Quidditch weather, Xiomara thought as she made her way along one of many cobblestone paths which led to the stadium. For today’s match, the north stands had been decorated with blue and bronze banners and tapestries, while the south stands were decked out in yellow and black. As she entered the stadium she walked across the freshly cut grass, once more Hagrid had made sure to keep the field in tip top shape. Entering her office she quickly emerged with a trunk in tow. Moving the trunk to the center of the pitch she set it down and opened it up inspected the four balls inside. Confident that each was in perfect condition she shut the trunk and watched as the stands slowly began to fill up and in quick time the players were in the sky for their warm ups.

As captain, it was Catalina's responsibility to lead her team, and the best way she could do so was by example. Arriving first, Catalina was already fully dressed in her Blue Ravenclaw quidditch robes when the rest of the team began to arrive. Pulling on her gloves and pads, Catalina patiently waited for the rest to get ready. Drumming her fingers on the bench still she waited, as the adrenaline began to pump through her body she couldn't wait any longer. Standing up Catalina walked to the middle of the locker room to address the team. "OK t'en, we really haf' ter play well terday, we haf' ter win if we want ter get te cup, ye kno? Right t'en, we can win if we play like a te'am, no selfis' stuff ye kno? Pass te' Quaffle around, les try and take advantag' of te Hufflepuff chasers, t'ey are all new. We can do it! OK t'en, so lets go get em!" Catalina then walked over and sat down between Savannah and Alexa "we haf ter win" she said to the two of them in a low voice as she gripped her Nimbus 2000 tightly and began to adjust her blue goggles.
Once the loud bell sounded, Catalina stood up and walked to the now open door. Mounting her broom she looked back at the team "LETS GO T'EN!" she said as she kicked off from the ground and zoomed out into the warmth of the sunshine. Whizzing through the air Catalina began to circle the pitch as she awaited the start of the game.

Ivy had woken up that morning feeling calm. Then, as she lay in her bed, she remembered it was the day of her first match. Ever.
The first match of the season, and it was against Ravenclaw. Throughout breakfast she had started to get jittery and have butterfiles in her stomach, and had eaten lightly as a result.
Now, as she walked down to the Quidditch pitch, it felt as if elephants were stammpeding around her stomach. She was about to play three Chasers who were all much older than her, and much more experienced. She felt like turning round and running away, right away from the pitch where she was going to make a fool of herself in front of the whole school.
In the locker room Ivy pulled on her robes in a daze. She wasn't looking forward to this. Should this be how her first match was?

Jordan was ready. Or so she thought. She was ready for the match. BUt then again, Jordan was one of those people who believe they are ready, then it turns out they aren't. Her day had been going ever so slowly, dragging on as if it was holding something wanted away from her. Which it was. It was holding Quidditch away from her.
Jordan sighed dramatically as she entered the locker rooms and changed into her Quidditch robes. She then grabbed her Nimbus 2000 and ran outside. She looked around spotted Ivy, she looked nervous. Jordan gave her an encouraging smile and looked around to find Valerie. Wondering, if they were going to warm up at all.

Valerie walked into the Quidditch stadium and stopped by the one of the goal hoops. Looking up at it she sighed with excitement. This would be her last Quidditch season unless by some miracle some professional team thought highly enough of her to give her a spot on their team, though that was very unlikely. Today they were playing Ravenclaw and Valerie knew that they’d try and intimidate the Hufflepuff chasers. Valerie had seen it all before, older players always tried to intimidate the young players and it all eventually would turn around. In a few years Hufflepuff would have the best chasers and they’d be able to strike fear into the other houses who would be full of young chasers. In any event that was still years away and wouldn’t help the situation today.
Walking into the Hufflepuff locker room, Valerie saw Jordan and Ivy were already present, “hi” she said as she walked to her locker and opened it up. Having played chaser for three years, Valerie had a few tips she’d share with the chasers when the rest arrived. Reaching into her box she pulled out her gloves and her golden goggles. Removing her wand from her pocket she cast a shading charm on her goggles. Immediately her goggle lenses turned a dark shade of grey to keep the sun away. Returning her wand to her pocket, Valerie pulled out a yellow scrunchie and tied her long blonde hair into a pony tail. Reaching towards the bench she grabbed her gloves and pulled them on tightly while the rest of the team slowly joined them.
Outside the sounds of students became louder and louder and the stadium quickly filled up with anxious spectators. A loud cheer from the far side of the pitch gave proof that the Ravenclaw team was now on the field, the time had come. Standing up Valerie grabbed her Nimbus broom and walked to the middle of the room. “OK, girls” she said as she looked at Ivy, Nokomis and Kiyla. “Don’t let them push you around out there OK? Just because they’re older doesn’t mean they are better, oh and whatever you do, don’t hold onto the Quaffle too long, keep it moving right?” She then turned to Jordan and Hannah, “OK ladies, I really want you two to watch them” she said as she pointed over to the chasers, “they’re going to be having a difficult enough time in their first match, they don’t need bludgers chasing them either OK?” Finally Valerie turned to the smallest player in the room, “Alright Kim, please today Kim, please please just play keeper, no more talking to the other team or telling them stories or jokes or anything, please please Kim please just focus on the game and try not to talk….umm… too much…. alright Kim?” Turning around Valerie walked to the doorway and looked back at her team, “alright Badgers, lets go get them!” She then mounted her broom and took off.

Cho sat quietly in the locker room while the rest of the team got ready. As she sat with eyes closed she meditated on the game and visualized herself catching the snitch. It was something her grandmother had taught her to do and it was a very effective tactic to control ones nerves. Taking deep breaths she continued to visualize the game, her moves, her actions until they all became embedded in her mind. A focused mind can overcome anything Cho remembered her grandmother instructing her as a little girl. Soon the sounds in the room faded, the noises from outside were gone and Cho was left alone with her thoughts.
Time passed in this fashion and Cho heard nothing from the rest of her team until she felt someone tapping her on the shoulder. Opening her eyes she saw her teammates all standing by the doorway waiting for her. Standing up she walked over and joined them at the doorway. Pulling her leg over her Comet 260 she flew off into the morning air with the rest of her team.

Hannah bit her lip as she listened to Valerie give the pre-game speech. She nodded when she directed her words towards the Beaters. It was true, the chasers were all relatively new this year, and she did need to keep an eye on the Bludger, as long as Jordan did her part to help.
After Valerie finished they all stood and left the locker room. She mounted her broom and flew off into the air. Hannah looked at Jordan, nodded and then flew off in a different direction, seperating herself from Jordan as she often did. More ground to cover and it was easier to hit the bludger's if you were on your own.

Jaquin listened to Catalina's opening speech intently as he twirled his new beater's bat in his hand. The blue robes that he was wearing were longer than last year's; Jaquin had grown quite a bit over the summer. Outside of the Ravenclaw lockers was an atmosphere of tumultuous excitement, as Jaquin heard excited talk withing the stands. He hoped that the game would not be entangled with unanticipated strategies from the Hufflepuff team, as had happened years before. He looked at Kamron, and back at his Nimbus 2003, as he contemplated with solicitude about the plethora of strategies the enemy beaters could implement against them. Jaquin was so busy thinking about strategies that he did not notice the rest of the team leave the tent.
Standing up, Jaquin strolled out of the tent with a resolute gleam in his eye. Then, mounting his broom and twirling his beater's bat, Jaquin took off, flying around and around the field. They would not lose this game to the Hufflepuffs.

She was so worked up about the game she had hardly spoken for the last three days. She loved quidditch more than anything, but a game....she had never played a game before and the thought of it made her sick. Besides just not talking, she hadn't been eating either. When the team had tried to get her too, she had ended up having to run to the bathroom as her nerves made her wuickly empy her stomach.
Now though, she was running late. She stayed in the locker room much longer than the other players, tryign to do something to control her nerves. She knew once she got out there on her broom, she would be fine, but the nerves of waiting were killing her. After a long moment, she finally pulled herself together and headed ot to the field and listened to Valerie's speach in silence. It was a good speach, but she was sure if she opened her mouth she woudl be sick again.

He was never worried about his first quidditch game. It was Hufflepuff, and dispite rumours that the Badgers had taken on a lot of new players who were showing promise, he wasn't worried.
Playig the position of beated had started as a passtime. It was something to get him out and away from his endless hours in the library and a way to let out any frustrations. It seemed that his little hobbey had escilated though, as now he had just been taken off the reserve and was asked to play in the first game of the season, which he accepted rather happily.
He listened to the opening speach, though he had a hard time trygint to keep his mind on the words and the approching game instead of paying attention go the behavior of the team; psychology in such intense situations was rather intreging.
Pulling his mind away though, he was ready to play.

Savannah stood up and listened to the speech, it was nothing really new though. The same old, they never took another team lightly and never let up until the game was over. Pulling her hair into a tight pony tail Savannah fiddled with her gloves while Catalina finished up her speech. Mounting her broom, Savannah then followed the others out into the morning air. Zipping around the stadium she felt the wind beating against her face as she circled around one of the goal posts. Very soon the game would start and she was filled with excitement, she was once more playing chaser her favorite position. After she had completed two laps around the pitch Savannah pulled to a stop near the center of the pitch and waited for the match to begin.

Ivy looked up as Valerie entered the room. She really didn't want to let the older girl down, but what could she do against three far more experienced Chasers. Ivy sighed as she stood up from the bench and leaned against the wall.
Ivy listened to Valerie's suggestions. She was sure they would be invaluable. But would they really be able to help, at the end of the day?
Ivy smiled, feeling slightly heartened, despite the jitters that persisted in her stomach, and, with a smile at Nokomis, who looked in an even worse state than she was, Ivy walked confidently out of the locker room and onto the Quidditch pitch.
Looking up she saw just how big the crowd was already, and her stomach flipped. This was to be the first match of the season, after all.
'Great, so I get to make a fool of myself in front of even more people,' Ivy thought, for once not reproaching herself for being so negative.
She kicked off from the ground. It felt good to be flying and in the air again. Smiling, Ivy zoomed around the pitch a few times, her confidence building all the way.
'Well, you've proved you can fly the thing', a slightly unpleasant voice inside her, which was hardly helpful, prompted. Ivy ignored it and flew over to where the rest of the team was gathered.

((Sorry!!! No avatar yet... i feel kind of dumb since i forgot about it and all....))
Kiyla listened to the speech in silence.
'I am so going to suck.' She thought to herself as she pulled her dark hair into a black scrunchie.
She looked at Ivy and saw that she seemd to be calmer than she was at first. Kiyla shifted a little nervously.
'Just do your best and you'll be alright.' A soothing voice from inside her head told her.
Kiyla smiled a little and followed everyone out into the pitch. She mounted her broom and looked out to teh crowd. She wanted to run when she saw all those people but she just kicked off the ground and let the wind blow h. She began to feel better, nervour still but better. She looked around then flew over to her team. She looked at Ivy and smiled slightly.

Hannah drew in deep breaths as the time ticked by. She waited. Cold sweat was dripping from her nose, and she hadn't even started yet. She was nervous, she would admit it. But not nervous for her own sake. More nervous for the new players to the team. They were much smaller than the other players and she would have to do her best to make sure they don't get hurt.
Jordan looked calm, to Hannah anyway. She wasn't crying or flying around in frantic pursuit. For her first game she seemed like it was her tenth. Hannah smiled at that, the girl had strength, many Huffles did. Which is what gave the team luck, the girls might be small, but they are really good at waht they do. Hopefully, they can prove that to everyone else. They are more then just loyal, they are great.

Madam Hooch blew her whistle after both teams had been in the air for 5 minutes. As both teams landed she went over her usual speach, though it wasn't really needed for this match. "Alright I want a good clean game, no funny business up there. Well what are you waiting for? On your brooms." Madam Hooch then kicked open the trunk and released the tiny snitch, then the two iron bludgers took off and flew into the air, she then grabbed the quaffle and held it in her hands. "On my whistle. Three, two, one!" Madam Hooch blew her whistle sending both teams into the air and she then threw the quaffle straight up into the air.
(( Opening face off dice roll
Nokomis 6+1=7, Savannah 6+3=9 ))
Savannah has the quaffle!

Savannah raced forward with her hand out in anticipation of taking the red ball. As she raced forward she grabbed the Quaffle out of mid air before the Hufflepuff girl could get there. Speeding down the pitch Savannah raced her way past the Hufflepuffs and closed in on the goal hoops. As she closed in on the goal hoops she looked over her shoulder for the rest of her team. "LEXA!!!" Savannah yelled as she threw the ball over her shoulder to where Alexa was flying.

Jordan's eyes averted from the chasers to see if she can spot the bludgers. Her eyes narrowed and out of the corner of her right eye she spotted one. She flew off in one direction and followed the bludger, hoping that she would get close enough to...strike it. She looked around for a target, saw Savannah trying to pass to Alexa. Jordan nodded and looked up to see the bludger right in front of her, lifting her arm she swung at the bludger, hoping her aim was right. She was aiming towards Savannah, considering Savannah had the Quaffle right at that moment. But if her timing was off, Jordan's bludger would probably miss hitting the Chaser with the Quaffle. And knowing Jordan, her timing was always off.

As soon as she threw the Quaffle, Savannah saw a bludger heading towards her. Pushing her broom into a sharp dive she raced towards the ground trying to get away from the bludger.

She couldn't believe she missed the quaffle and let the older girl get it before her. And she through she was doing so well...she soon pulled herself out of it though. This was a game, and she didn't have time to think about things like that. She had a quaffle to get, she coudln't let her house down down!
It was then that she saw Savannah let the quaffle fly towards another Ravenclaw, and she darted towards it, reaching her hand out and making a grab towards the ball.

He noticed the bludger about the same time the Hufflepuff girl did, but she was the closer one, and before he knew it, the ball was flying towards Savannah. He leaned foward on his broom and soom he was speading off towards his teammate--It would be a close call, but he raised his bat and swung, making an attempt to save the chaser from the attack.
