Jaquin stayed in the Ravenclaw common room, ameliorating his somewhat disheveled costume. He was wearing ocean blue robes dotted with stars, ancient runes, and a plethora of other symbols. The pattern of his robes changed every so often, looking like the vacuums of empty space with the occasional star or symbol drifting across. He was also wearing a brimmed wizard hat with the same patterns as his robes and an elongated, white beard, almost a match to Dumbledores. Jaquin had charmed his hair white and had brewed a hair growing potion before applying it to his chin. It was a rather simplistic sight, but, it took many sophisticated spells and potions to create the finishing touch to his costume. Carrying his long, gleaming white wand, Jaquin scrutinized his costume in the mirror and compared it to the book called "Famous and Revolutionary Geniuses of Magic". It was so close that Jaquin could not tell the difference. He was looking at a picture of Merlin when he was young.
Exiting the racous and tumultuous mass of students in the common room, Jaquin headed straight down to the great hall, and awaited the arrival of Parvati.

Parvati looked in the long mirror. Her costume almost complete. She picked up her tiara, placed it on her black hair and then tapped her wand, having the curls angle their way around it. She smiled and spun around, the navy midnight dress twirling around her. A black shawl was draped over her shoulders, and her eyes were a pure navy. She smiled, grabbed her wand and a purse and then left the common room, bare foot. Sparkles fell from her skirt as she walked and landed on the floor, leaving a trail of dust. She had moon body jewlery on the corner of her eyes and a dark crescent moon on her shoulder. She walked down a few stairs and saw Jaquin. She smiled, picked up her skirts in both hands and continued down the stairs.
"Hey." She said shyly as she approached him. She bowed slightly as if it was part of her character and giggled.

((Sorry, been busy with lots of school work. But, I'm back! ;D )) "My lady.... You look beautiful!" Jaquin replied as he bowed. He twirled his wand in his fingers, flexed it, and a rose took it's place. Handing it to Parvati, Jaquin chuckled, "Shall we enter?" Jaquin took Parvati by the arm and steered them into the crowded, but capacious Great Hall. There was a plethora of multifarious costumes, as it seemed as if everyone had a different idea, although there were a couple of "dementors". Jaquin had an eccentric taste for sophisticated "things" in general, so, his eyes never wavered as he scrutinized the students dressed up as Dementors. The staff sat on a raised platform, seemingly oblivious to the tumultuous crowds below them. When he finally reached a corner table, Jaquin sat down, inquiring, "What type of drink would you like?"

Parvati smiled at the compliment. She watched with amazement as Jaquin twirled his wand into a flower and handed it to her. "Thank you. And you look great." Parvati smiled again and took his arm as they entered the Great Hall. It wasn't exactly empty but, yet there was enough room to walk without bumping into anybody. Parvati spotted a few dementors, and shook her head ashamed that anyone would do such a thing. She sighed and looked around once more. She spotted a few people she knew and smiled at them as she walked by. Soon they reached a table in a corner and Jaquin had asked her what type of drink she would like. Parvati tilted her head in thought and smiled. "Pumpkin juice, that sounds wonderful right now." She answered as she looked at him. (welcome back

"Why not?" Jaquin asked with a smile. He twirled his wand and conjured up jug of pumpkin juice and a silver goblet out of thin air. They landed on the table softly. Jaquin said, "I prefer butterbeer, though." With that statement, Jaquin conjured up a bottle full of butterbeer and began gulping down large quantities at a time. Jaquin listened to the band play lively, as many students packed onto the stage and began to dance.
"So, would you like to dance? My lady?" Jaquin added with humor, as he imitated Merlin's chivalrous ways.

Parvati took a few drinks of her Pumpkin juice when Jaquin asked her to dance. Parvati blinked and then smiled.
"Sure." She said as she placed the goblet down on the table.

Jaquin led Parvati onto the stage and began dancing to the tune with a profuse renaissance style, although the idea seemed preposterous even to himself. He guided Parvati around the dance floor several times. They went through a fast and jolly song to a concertino that resonated with erratic temperament. Jaquin felt elated as he danced with Parvati, as it was a very funny sight. An old man with a beard that could compete against Dumbledore's and a goddess of the moon. After about half an hour, Jaquin led Parvati back to their table to show her the "magic" tricks he had prepared for her. "Did you enjoy the dance, my lady? You are as graceful as a swan," Jaquin said with the air of a medieval knight. "If not, I hope that you will enjoy my tricks of magic..."
With the dramatic wriggling of his fingers, Jaquin produced a silver mist from his wand to cover up his actions. First he took a small beaker of invisibility potion that Perseus had prepared for him and dropped them onto his hands. As the mist dissipated, Jaquin hid his arms behind his back and slowly drew them foward, revealing his invisible hands......

Parvati was in a daze as they danced across the dance floor. Her mind wandered with the music and she felt like she was gliding on thin air. When Jaquin led her back to the table she smiled and came back gradually from her daze.
"I enjoyed the dance very much. You're a wonderful dancer." Parvati smiled and sat down. She looked at Jaquin with a twinkle in her eye as he performed his magic tricks. She gasped as he came back, handless. She giggled and clapped.
"Now, tell me how did you do that? Or are Magicians not allowed to tell their secrets?" She asked with a small smile.

"You would like to know wouldn't you? Well, it is a magicians secret..... But, in this case, I shall reveal my ways," Jaquin said. This time, he took out the minute flask full of invisibility potion and drank it. Instantaneously, Jaquin disappeared from plain sight as he shifted to his left. Then with his wand, Jaquin levitated the chair, plate of food, jug of pumpkin juice all at once. "You see? I can be here, here, or here," Jaquin projected his voice toward each item in turn. Then, with a tap of his wand, Jaquin stood in front of Parvati, in plain sight.

With a gasp, Parvati tilted her head as Jaquin disappeared totally this time. The chair, the plate, and the jug of pumpkin juice all levitated and then he reappeared.
"Amazing!" Parvati said with delight. She was amused by such tricks, it often seemed odd to most people.

"Would you like to take a stroll outside?" Jaquin inquired, as he saw numerous students exit the hall and walk out the front doors. There was a plethora of decorations outside worth seeing. A playful melody was being played and Jaquin sat, mesmerized by the skill of the musicians even though he possessed prodigious skills in the art of the violin.

Parvati smiled in answer to Jaquin's question. She would love to go outside. As they exited the castle she gasped at how beautiful the decorations were set up. Her eyes twinkled and she sat down, listened to the melody of the wonderufl music, and smiled at the decorations.
"It's gorgeous!" She exclaimed, her excitement overwhelming. Parvati rarely got this excited, but she thought it was about time she did. She looked at Jaquin.
"Thanks, for coming to the ball with me. If you hadn't asked, I probably wouldn't have been here tonight." Parvati said as she looked down at her feet.

"Of course, Parvati. I would not have chosen anyone else," Jaquin said with a grin as they walked down the path and into a courtyard where many other students had gathered.
Garrulous conversations filled the air as the melodic songs from the Great Hall resonated throughout the castle. Penumbrae covered almost every inch of the courtyard, as the floating and lighted pumpkins illuminated certain areas. The night sky was clear and starry, with only a slight breeze. He took a seat on a bench and stroked his beard, scrutinizing the eccentric costumes of the other students. Turning his head towards Parvati, Jaquin inquired, "So, why do you and Padme argue so often?"

Parvati sighed as Jaquin asked about her and Padma. She looked down and blinked before answering his question. It was a hard question for her to answer. She never really paid attention to what her and Padma argued over, just, that they argued.
"Padma and I used to have a really good relationship, until 4th year. Then we just split apart over something at home. I accuse her of being prettier, smarter, and more popular than I am, and she accuses me of phoney accusations." Parvati answered, hoping that her words made sense to him as they did her.
"Padma has friends and good grades, all I have is my art. And even that, she takes away from me." Parvati sighed again and took off her tiara. Fiddling with it she added,
"I just wish that once...Padma would see me for me, and not for someone who looks like her."

"Yes, I wholly agree with you, Parvati," Jaquin replied. "However, I disagree that Padma steals everything from you. From the way I see it, you are everything she is, but, you possess more talents than she ever would, which I admire. Perhaps Padma is jealous of the way you possess everything she possesses, but, feels that you stole it from her, in the same way you feel that she stole everything from you."
Jaquin paused for a moment to look into the Cimmerian sky, freckled with twinkling stars as he contemplated about the subject he had just introduced. He was not sure that his useless rambling had created an unambiguous concept of his interpretation. Then, he remembered Ron Weasley's older brothers, Fred and George. "You remember Fred and George?" inquired Jaquin as he reminisced the events of their 5th year. "They worked in perfect harmony and got along with each other by implementing their strengths together, as one to achieve a certain goal. Although they argued sometimes, the real thing that held them together was friendship, 'twinhood', and brotherhood........." Jaquin trailed off, unsure whether or not Parvati comprehended the implications of his little "lecture".

Parvati thought about this, slowly, digesting the words in her mind. She then looked at Jaquin.
"Perhaps, but that makes entirely no sense. Everything I do, my art, my words, anything worth being mine, she takes from me. It's hers. She's the one who taught me how to do what I do. So she gets credit for it. My dad tried to tell me, that she does this to everyone one, but I don't do it to her...so why do it to me?" Parvati laughed lightly in disbelief and looked down, wondering if that made any sense at all.
"Ahh, Fred and George, they were so...every piece of family that I wanted to be with Padma. But, Padma wouldn't go for it. We were close once, but we grew apart. Sometimes during the Summer it's like old times, but lately... I don't know." Parvati trailed off, completely confused on what to do. Should she drop her and Padma's relationship? Or keep trying harder to get it back to what it used to be?
