Brooke was walking through the snow trying desperately to shield her face from the biting wind. The tiny snowflakes were pelting her face and all she wanted was to go inside. She liked the snow, but the wind she could definently do without. Brooke wasn't much of a cold person. She wanted to sit inside by the fire with a warm mug of apple cider.
She had just gotten back from a long day of snowboarding and although she wasn't too far from the castle, she wasn't sure she could make it inside.
Brooke plodded along in the snow on her numb feet. Even though she had on three pairs of socks and her pants were pulled over her boots, somehow the snow had gotten in there and had melted all over her feet. So she was wet and cold and over all very unhappy.
She heard her name being called from a little ways away. She really didn't feel like talking, as her jaw was frozen. Maybe if she ignored whoever it was . . . but they called her name again but from right behind her this time.
She whipped around frustrated and yelled, "What?!" Seeing that it was Elizabeth she calmed down and immediately regretted yelling.
"Oh, s-sorry," she managed through her chattering teeth, "Didn't k-know it was y-y-you, Li-Liz."

Elizabeth was in the lounge reading the never ending book that her mother had given her. It was 1000 some pages, Elizabeth was just about to put it down when she saw Brooke walk in. She looked like she had been outside. Eizabeth shivered as she thought of the bitter cold. She hated Winter, except she did like snow, but not the cold and numbness that came with it.
Elizabeth turned towards Brooke and stood up, to lazy to walk over to her, Elizabeth began calling Brooke to come and jooin her,"Brooke!!! Hey Brooke!! Over here!!" Elizabeth stopped short when Brooke turned around. Brooke looked very irratated and was not someone you wanted to mess with when she was irritated. Elizabeth was so surprised that she backed away as if Brooke was some sort of monster. "It's ok Brooke, I know how the coldness can get to your head, not to mention all over your body." Elizabeth sat down again. "You wanna sit down and warm up?" asked Elizabeth as she gestured towards the chair and nodded at the fire.
"What were you doing out there anyway?" Elizabeth pulled back her hair and prepared to listen.

Brooke nodded her head fervently and took a seat by the fire. The heat felt amazing. She pulled off her boots and peeled off her layers off socks, not surprised to see many pieces of snow fall out.
She tried to speak but was so cold and out of breath that all she could manage were short, choppy, sentences.
"Snowboarding. Ver-very cold. Snow. In b-boots. Melt. Wet. Cold. Wet. M-miserable."
Brooke sunk back into her chair and sat peacefully waiting to warm up. What would she give for some apple cider right about now? When she was finally able to put together a coherent sentence she started talking again.
"Hope you got all that. Wow, there's like a thousand knives cutting into my feet right about now. It is so cold. Wow. Have you gotten all your Christmas gifts, yet?"

Elizabeth watched as Brooke warmed up by the fire. "Does that feel better?" asked Elizabeth in a kind voice.
"No actually I'm still looking for a gift for Jordan, I wanted to get her a invisibility cloak, but I couldn't find one . . . I guess I'll go back and look for one tomorrow. I have yours already and I think you'll like it." Elizabeth smiled at Brooke and thought about all the gifts she had bought that were hiding under her bed in her trunk. "what have you been doing latley? I havn't seen you in a while. Who is you roommate?"

Brooke nodded her head. "It feels much better."
She sat and listened to Elizabeth talk, glad that she wasn't the only one who need to do a little last minute Christmas shopping.
"Well, I've been inside mostly staying warm. Katie's my room mate so I've been hanging out with her for a good bit. I did go snowboarding, but I don't think I'll be having too much more of that. Katie wants me to go with her though. Ugh. Anyway, I still need to get quite a few Christmas gifts . . . quite a few meaning all of them. So, um, do you want to go shopping once I've warmed up a bit. I mean I'm pretty warm now, but whenever you want to go. I've been wanting to check out the village. I've heard it's really cool, but I don't know, I want to check it out. And I'm having a major chocolate craving at the moment, not too mention some butterbeer."
