Mary sat in her room looking at the clothes she had brought. ‘How on earth could I have forgotten my orange top?’ she though. After searching through her clothes three more times she finally admitted that it must not be there. ‘I guess I have to go shopping’ she thought with a smile. Mary adored shopping; it was one of the few things in life she had mastered. She threw on her warm dark green cloak and grabbed her purse. She walked down the path to the nearby village hoping that there would be a nice bright orange shirt she could buy to temporarily replace the one she had forgotten at Hogwarts.
It was a nice day with a light snow outside. She saw many other students running around, some going to the mountain to go skiing, some going into the village as well, and some just playing around having snowball fights and such. Mary laughed as she saw a fifth year stumble from being hit with a snowball thrown by a first year. She then continued to watch as the fifth year contemplated retaliation, but seemed unsure because of the size and age of the other student.
Mary was snapped out of her daze by the sound of snow crunching underneath someone’s feet nearby. The sound seemed to be coming toward her, so Mary turned to see who it was. To her delight it was Jersey Scott, a fellow Slytherin, although Jersey is much older than Mary she was quite nice and Mary considered her a friend. “Well hello there Jersey.” Mary said “How nice to see you. Where are you headed?”
Jersey layed on her stomach on her bed writing in her diary. She wrote of all the things that she had done so far in Weinig Zug and of all the new people she met. She wrote all her thoughts, feelings, and complaints in her diary, that she had kept since the day of her mother and father's death. It was something of very high value with her, and it was a way to express herself when she had no one to talk to. As she had finished her entry in her diary, she shut it and slid it under the matress of the bed, that way no one could ever find it. She smiled and rolled over onto her back and started doing her daily crunches. On her 100th one she stopped, she sat up completely and got up from the bed.
Jersey stood in her room contemplating today's activites, as of now shopping was stuck in her mind and it didn't seem to be leaving, therefore it was settled. Being lazy, she tapped her wand over her head and in seconds she was dressed and ready to go. She wore a yellow long sleeved shirt, with faded jeans, and clogs. She went over to the mirror, and applied her make up and added her favorite strawberry flavored lipgloss for a topper. She brushed her gorgeous curly hair and puffed it up a bit then looked at herself, making sure everything was okay. Jersey went straight to grab her Slytherian colored jacket, with a matching scarf, put them on, then went back to the mirror, "Perfect." she said.
Jersey made her way through the castle, in hopes of meeting someone else who wanted to go shopping. As she reached the castle entrance, she sighed, for she saw no one. When she walked outside she saw that a covering of light snow had covered the ground, and it was still snowing. Jersey loved snow, but was never exactly allowed to enjoy it as a younger child. Jersey continued her walk as she saw the back of a familar head walking in front of her a bit ahead. She smiled, and realized that it was Mary Evans, a fellow Slytherian. Jersey started to walk in a faster pace in order to catch up with her.
Once she was near her she walked up to her. "Hello there Mary!" Jersey gave her a welcoming smile, for she was excited to see someone who she could possibly share her shopping experience with today. Mary asked Jersey where she was off to, and Jersey replied "Shopping, of course, this girl needs some new winter clothes." Jersey laughed. "And you, I hope your going to shopping too." Jersey said with a bit persuading.

Mary was thrilled when Jersey said that she was going shopping and implied that she wanted Mary to join her. “I am indeed shopping. I seem to have forgotten one of my favourite shirts and need to replace it. Plus I just love to shop.” She said with a grin.
The two girls walked down the road chatting until they reached the village. Mary spotted a clothes store on the right side of the street that looked trendy enough. “Why don’t we check in here first and then go into that shoe shop on the other side of the street?” Mary asked while stepping into the shop not waiting for an answer.
Mary looked around and picked out half a dozen shirts and three pairs of jeans to try on, but did not find a single one like her orange shirt. Mary tried on each outfit in turn and ended up getting one pair of jeans and three shirts; but the quest was still on for one in bright orange.

Jersey was full of cheer as Mary told her that she to was going shopping, Jersey was not going to be alone after all. Jersey talked to Mary the entire way there about everything and anything, not once did there seem to be an awkward silence, which even if there was, Jersey was good at covering.
Once the girls had reached the village Mary suggested going into a clothing store and then the shoe store across the street. As Mary went in the store, Jersey followed. Once inside the store, Jersey noticed that it wasn't very big, but it still had a pretty good clothing selection. Jersey smiled as she picked up shirts and jeans left and right. She must of have around 20 shirts and 10 jeans that she thought were perfect, until she tried them on. Only 7 shirts and half of the jeans fit, and they were perfect. Jersey who had lots of money, which was given to her and her sister when her mother and father died, bought them all. Her favorite being a light pink long sleeved shirt with a blue outline. Once her and Mary had purchased the clothes that they had wanted Jersey spoke, "So you ready to go shoe the store now?" Jersey was excited, she had loved shoes, and she had what seemed like millions of shoes in her possession, but she could always need more. She smiled and continued her way across the street.

“Me?” she asked Jersey, “I am always ready for shoe stores. I live for shoes I swear I already own more pairs than I could wear in a year, but I just can’t help it. I love shoes, well boots more like; but you get the point. I wonder, have you noticed that I am always in knee length stilettos heel boots? My mother has come to call them my staple.” Mary said with a laugh. “I don’t care that people say I’m too young for boots like that; I adore them. A tad too much though, I believe.”
Mary babbled on like that as they crossed the street until they had entered the other store. The sight of so many new shoes just waiting to be bought just threw Mary into full on shopping mode. Two attendants approached them as they entered and asked if they needed any assistance. Mary automatically said yes and started pointing to the shoes she liked. “I want you to get me a pair of these … and a pair of those … oh and these in every colour you have …” and it went on like that for about fifteen minuets until Mary had looked through every pair in the store. “All in size 5 and a half wide; thank you.” Mary finally said taking a seat so she could remove her boots and try everything on when it was brought to her. “Isn’t this so much fun?” She asked Jersey.

As the girls entered the shoe store, Jersey froze and stared at all the glorious shoes everywhere. Mary seemed to be the same exact way as Jersey was, which seemed funny that the 2 girls were practically obsessed with shoes. Two attendents had approached the 2 girls asking if they needed help. Mary and Jersey both replied yes and one attendent tended to Jersey, while the other with Mary. Jersey asked for mostly the clog-typed shoes, the basic tennis shoes, and the fancy high heeled shoe in size 9. Jersey smiled as she tried on every shoe she asked for, finding quite alot that fit her perfectly. She examined each shoe quite thoroughly, making sure that the decision she made would be the right one. "Isn't this so much fun?" Mary asked Jersey, and Jersey replied with a huge smile, "It's a blast."
Jersey took this step into effect for about 20 minutes and found 5 shoes which she insisted on buying, or else she'd just die. The shoes were quite vibrant and colorful, colors you would never see on Jersey, but she was changing. Jersey thanked the sales person as she checked out her items. Jersey went over to Mary and spoke, "I'm ready when you are." Jersey smiled and opened the door for the 2 girls exit.
When Jersey opened the door she had noticed that it had started snowing a lot more. She was aggitated a bit as the cold wind blew through her hair, making her face feel like ice cubes. Jersey reached inside her pocket to put on her gloves. Jersey spoke to Mary, "You hungry?"

Mary was having so much fun, the time in the shoe store seemed to go by in a matter of seconds. But next thing she knew all the shoes had been tried on and about half of them had been wrapped up for her to take back with her. Mary was delighted that Jersey had also bought some shoes and seemed to be enjoying herself as well. There was nothing worse than shopping with someone who finished each store in five minuets and wanted to go home in an hour. ‘Meaning there is nothing worse than shopping with a guy.’ Mary though and chuckled to herself, remembering the one and only shopping trip she had gone on with her father.
“OK, lets head out then.” Mary replied when Jersey said she was ready. All of a sudden Mary’s stomach let out a low grumble when Jersey asked if she was hungry. “I guess so.” Mary said with a laugh. Why don’t we go find a restaurant or something? Preferably someplace I can discreetly shrink these thing so they fit in my pocket” Mary said trying to balance all the shoe boxes while not dropping the bag with her new clothes.

Jersey laughed as Mary struggled with the many boxes and bags that she had been carrying. Jersey wasn't struggling to much, she had shoved all her shoe boxes into her clothing bags. "Here Mary give me some of your bags to carry, until we find a place." Jersey smiled and continued to walk. Jersey scanned over all of the potential restaurants that the girls could go in, finding one that stuck out. It was a small cafe that had a big open window for one to look inside. Jersey looked in and saw warmth for the most. A fireplace was booming towards the back of the building and couches and chairs of quite comfort filled the area. Jersey smiled looking at the muggle paintings hanging around the building which she could see from where she was. "How about this one?" Jersey said pointing towards the building closing her eyes a bit as the snow and wind kicked up and it was becoming quite impossible to see.

“Here, thank you.” Mary said as she handed Jersey some of her bags. Mary then re-arranged her bags so that she could see. As soon as the boxes were no longer hiding her eyes Mary was suddenly assailed by a gust of wind carrying snow along with it. In order to block out the wind Mary then ducked her head behind the boxes once again. She turned so she could look at the café Jersey was pointing to while keeping the boxes in the way of the wind. “Looks cozy.” Mary said approvingly. “Plus I’m sure I look quite silly hiding behind my shoes.” Mary continued with a laugh.
She then walked into the café and took a seat by the fireplace. A waitress walked over, handed the girls menus, and asked if they wanted anything to drink. “Yes, I will have a cappuccino. What about you Jersey?” Mary replied.

Jersey entered following Mary, who had taken a seat by the fireplace. Followed by their entrance and seating a waitress appeared to take their to take their drink order, Mary went first then Jersey, "I'll have a hot chocolate and a glass of ice water." Jersey said to the waitress. Once the waitress departed Jersey got herself situated taking off her jacket, and her other winter belongs, scrarf, gloves, etc. Jersey draped them all over the back of her chair and then left her bags right next to her chair. Next on Jersey's list she went into her purse and pulled out her strawberry and banana flavored lipgloss, her favorite, a pocket mirror and brush, Jersey was all about her appearance. Jersey first applied the gloss until she thought it was enough, she then rubbed her lips together making it an even coat and then shoved the gloss back into her purse. Next she grabbed the brush and started brushing her hat head from her beanie. Half way through her brushing she put the brush down, grabbed her mirror and opened it examing her every detail. She mostly concentrated on her hair, puffing it up in necessary places. Once satisfied she put her things away, and just in time to, for the waitress came over with their drinks.
The waitress came back with the drinks and then asking for their food orders. Jersey hadn't looked at her menu yet, but she didn't want to keep Mary waiting so she ordered the usual, "I'll have chicken fingers and fries with a cup of chicken noodle soup." While the waitress asked Mary, Jersey took a sip of her hot chocolate and felt heaven. The taste was unbelievably chocolatey and the taste was wonderful, not too hot and not to cold. Jersey smiled as she took a big gulp of the hot chocolate and let out a burp. "Scuse me." Jersey said laughing.

Mary got herself comfortable, taking off her jacket, moving around in her seat, etc…, while Jersey primped. When Mary finally felt comfortable she picked up her menu and looked at where there was to eat. When Jersey had finished the waitress arrived with the drinks and asked for their lunch orders. When Jersey had ordered Mary figured she had to make a decision. “Ham and cheese sandwich please, on a white bun. Yes that’s everything. Thank you.” Mary said as Jersey took a sip of her hot chocolate then burped. “While we wait for our food I’m going to go to the bathroom and… freshen up.” Mary said with a wink. She then picked up a good few of her bags and left for the washroom.
Mary checked that she was alone in the bathroom. When she found there was someone in a stall Mary decided to really freshen up while she waited to be alone. Mary pulled a brush though her hair and redid her make up. She had just finished when the woman finally left the washroom. Mary then quickly locked the door and shrunk her packages. Placing them in her pocket she headed back to the table.
The food was already there when she arrived she simply sat down and took a bite. “Yum.” She said. “I am going to have to remember to come back to this place.”
The food did not take long to arrive. As soon as the waitress placed Jersey's food on the table, she quickly grabbed a chicken finger and took a huge bite. Once swallowed she grabbed a french fry, making sure that the food was as good as she thought on both parts. She heard Mary say that she would have to remember to come back, Jersey replied with her mouth full of food and not minding her manners, "Me too! This food is delicish!" Jersey smiled swallowing her food and taking a gulp of her water, which she got ordered for that reason.
As Jersey finished her last fry she sat back in her chair and patted her stomach, feeling as though she had gained 5 pounds, not that gaining 5 pounds would effect Jersey much, she was quite a thin girl. Jersey wipped her greasy hands on her napkin provided from the start of the meal, and then wipped any acess crumbs off of her face for reassurance. Jersey looked outside seeing that the snow had died down and was now only snowing smaller flakes with hardly any wind, a beautiful sight. "Looks like things are calming outside, look how pleasant it looks." Jersey smiled admiring the outside with pleasure, taking in all of the snow falling. Winter was Jersey's favorite time of year, and since it only came once a year, she has learned to cherish it.
Jersey looked towards Mary and realized that not a lot had been said during lunch. Quickly Jersey thought of a conversation starter as it was becoming awkward. "So, if you don't mind me asking, why'd you come on the trip, and not go home for Christmas break?" Jersey waited patiently for a response.

Mary slowly ate her sandwich and watched as Jersey seemed to enjoy her food as well. Mary stared out at window at the lightly falling snow. ‘Its actually quite pretty when you’re your not out in it’ Mary thought with a little smile. Next thing Mary knew the meal was over.
“Well I came for a number of reasons. The first being that I don’t get along with my parents; they are all holier than thou all the time. I swear they are uptight about everything, every manner must be followed, your blood has to be pure for at least twelve generations before they even consider you worth talking to, and just because I'm a teenager I'm not worth a bloody thing; I'm still a child who should be seen and not heard. On a lighter note are my other reasons. It’s a nice getaway; I have never been to Switzerland before. And I came just to get to know people without classes or school or what house you belong to getting in the way. You know?”
A few minutes later the girls split the check and walked back out into the street. Mary spotted a small bookstore and headed toward it. Judging by her prior conversations with Jersey she was sure she wouldn’t mind.

Jersey fell behind as the girls left the cafe. Jersey watched as Mary ventured toward a bookstore, making sure she wouldn't loose her. Jersey bent down to tie her shoe, coming up to a big gust of wind carrying her beanie half way down the street. "My hat!" Jersey screamed. Jersey went on a chase for her favorite hat, turning in all directions and even in circles to catch the little bugger. Jersey reached up as high as she could as she saw her hat swaying above her, Jersey not being too tall stood on tip toes until she felt the cloth of her hat in her hand firmly. Pulling her arm down Jersey sighed a huge relief and quickly placed her hat into her purse, not worrying about whether her head would be cold. She just did not want it to happen again.
Jersey had walked quite a distance to retrieve her hat and she walked all the way back to the bookstore, quite frusterated at that. Jersey opened the door to the bookstore and stampered in, making her stomping of her feet as loud as possible. Jersey had a very short temper and it didn't take much to set her off. As Jersey looked around the store in search of Mary she had recieved some dirty looks. Jersey raised her eyebrows at them all and felt a sudden urge to curse them all. However Jersey controlled her anger and ignored them all placing her head high in the air, and letting them know that she was better than them anyways.
Jersey walked through the aisles of the bookstore only briefly scanning the books that caught her eye. She found one of special interest in the fiction section. It was a book about an evil grandmother and her lack of parental care towards her grandchildren. Jersey found this book quite fascinating and began to laugh as she thought 'How can one write about something that they obviously know nothing about, I, however, could write a brillant story and have it published, and have people feeling sorry for me left and right.' Jersey smiled as she pictured herself being an author of such a novel. After scanning the book Jersey closed it with a slam and placed in back in any old place on the shelf, not caring where the correct placement was.
Jersey stomped around some more still disgusted with the book she had picked up, and then continued her search for Mary.

As Mary stepped into the store she turned around to say something to Jersey only to realise that she wasn’t there. Mary was about to go look for her when she remembered her complete and total lack of direction. Mary had already gotten lost five times during the trip and all that was simply within the castle. She didn’t know what she would do if she got lost in the village. So Mary simply went in to the bookstore and hoped Jersey knew she was there.
Mary looked around at random books for a while spotting a few that she thought she would like. Every time she felt like buying one though she remembered the pile of about six books she had brought lying on her bed virtually untouched. She then heard someone stomping by the door and looked to see what all the commotion was. It was Jersey giving everyone who was staring at her dirty looks. Mary walked back to where she had been and replaced the book she had been looking at before walking over to Jersey. She found Jersey a short ways away from the fiction section apparently looking at random books as well. “Hey where did you go? I was worried that you hadn’t seen where I was headed and got lost or something.”
As Mary approached Jersey she smiled. She had finally found her and the search was over. Mary had asked where she had been, and to make a long story short Jersey basically said, "My hat was blown away and I had to go and catch it." She basically left out how frusterating it was and all the rubbish not needed. "But now that I found you, and boy am I glad I did, because these people don't like me very much." Jersey laughed as she said her last comment looking in all directions glaring evily at anyone who looked her way. "Let's go. These people make me sick." Jersey made sure to say it loud enough to make sure everyone in the store heard. Jersey started walking out the door, stomping her feet once again, hoping that Mary would follow. She figured she would since Mary had no books in her hands after about a 15 minute search.
Jersey walked outside and saw that it had stopped snowing all together. Jersey smiled as she bent down to make a snowball, making sure that it was a perfect circle. Jersey wanted to let out all her frusterastion through this snowball, and hitting Mary wasn't what she wanted to do. Therefore, Mary did probably the worst thing possible with a snowball in a crowded shopping center. Jersey began to spin around in circles until she decided to let go, and when she did she heard kind of a yelp coming from a distant direction. Jersey laughed hysterically and began running in the opposite direction, despite her dizziness.

Mary looked around and noticed that people were indeed staring at them. She then rolled her eyes and laughed as Jersey glared at everyone who had the misfortune of glancing in there direction. She then followed Jersey out of the store barely containing her giggles as she stomped along. She threw the person behind the counter an apologetic smile before she got out the door and burst out into hysterical laughter.
Next thing she knew a snowball hit her. She let out a surprised yelp and looked around to see what had happened. Mary then noticed Jersey running in the opposite direction looking dizzy. Mary stooped down and picked up a handful of snow before running after Jersey as fast as her high-heeled boots would let her. She had formed the snow into a hasty snowball as she ran and as soon as she felt she might have a chance she tossed it in hoping to hit Jersey.

Jersey laughed as she stopped running to turn around and notice that Mary was indeed the one she had hit with a snowball. Laughing hysterically Jersey continued running in the opposite direction of Mary, for Jersey knew that Mary would retaliate. Jersey slowed down a bit pushing people out her way, most of the people she pushed said nasty things to her, which only provoked Jersey more.
Jersey stopped to see what Mary was doing and when she turned around a snowball had hit her directly in the chest. Jersey was indeed right, Mary did retaliate. Jersey laughed and looked down at the area the snowball had hit and shook her head laughing. "Good hit!" Jersey screamed to Mary from where she was standing, this was just another way of being a bothersome teenager to those around her.
Jersey smiled and continued her way back towards where Mary was. Jersey laughed the entire way there, not so much at what had just happened, but at the fact that every single person who walked by insisted on staring disgustingly in her direction. "Take a picture, it'll last longer!" Jersey sacastically screamed an older women, obviously not pleased with Jersey's behavor. Jersey bobbed her head side to side as she become closer to Mary, and then immediately stopped once reaching her. "Where to next my friend?" Jersey began to say as she reached Mary.

Mary stood there watching as the snowball got Jersey right in the chest. She then burst out into another fit of laughter at Jersey’s reaction. “Thanks” Mary screamed back when Jersey complemented her hit. By that time everyone around were giving the two girls dirty looks. Mary threw a glare back at a large group of people. “Aww, jealous we are still young enough to have fun?” she said in a mock baby voice to another small group of old women who were whispering about their disapproval of such behaviour. “Well don’t worry, some day we may turn into old sticks in the mud too and know just how you feel.” she continued, thinking how great it was to be a Slytherin.
She watched as the old women walked away chattering about “young hooligans who need to learn respect.” Mary smirked at Jersey as she approached. “Crazy old bats. They need to be hit with snowballs.” Mary said with amusement in her voice while rolling her eyes. “I'm really not sure what to do next. I mean we’ve done clothes, shoes, books, and lunch; all my favourite things. How about that pet store over there?” Mary said pointing, while throwing the occasional glare at the people who were still staring at them. “Bloody people need to learn to mind their own bloody business.” She began muttering to herself as she waited for Jersey’s response.

With all the looks of digust the girls were recieving, Jersey just wanted to flip. Containing herself Jersey spoke with only a bit of frusteration. "Pet store, sounds great." Jersey decided to take the lead to the pet store, intentionally, once again, pushing everyone see basically saw. Once she had reached the pet store she looked through the window and saw the most adorable puppy. The puppy was of golden color and had the cutest face. However, the puppy had looked so sad in the window, locked up with no one to love it. "Look at the puppy!" Jersey screamed with excitement to Mary. She made her way through the entrance, a bell signaled above the door and let everyone know that people were arriving. A man who looked like he'd be the store manager greeted them with a hello and how are you doing. Jersey didn't reply to the man at all, her attention was on the puppy in the window.
Jersey walked over to the window to get a better look at the puppy. She saw the puppy turn around with excitement and began to yelp as Jersey looked down at it. Jersey bent down to touch the puppy when the manager man appeared and asked what she was doing. "I was just going to pet the puppy," Jersey began, but was interrupted by the manager saying something like "you must ask for permission first missy." Jersey wasn't paying much attention to what he was saying though, her attention still the dog.
Once the man completed finished complaining about Jersey's bad manners and how she should have asked to see it, Jersey spoke up with manners, "May I please hold the puppy." Jersey gave the man a cute little face in order to win his liking, and for him to let her. The man of course said yes, and grabbed the puppy from the window and handed it to Jersey. Jersey laughed as the puppy was placed into her arms, for it started to lick her face immediately. "Hi Pups," Jersey began saying in quite a baby voice. Jersey placed the dog on the ground in order to pet it some more, the man hesitated at her attempt. Once the dog was on the ground, Jersey smiled as the dog sat there staring at her, as if almost waiting for her to pet him. Jersey had seen that it was a boy puppy, and that made Jersey laugh some more.
The puppy began to roll around on the ground until it seemed comfortable and it layed there with all 4 legs up in the air, waiting for Jersey to rub his tummy. Jersey looked up at Mary and smiled, "Isn't he the cutest!?"
