It was getting late. The sun was setting behind the curtains of Molly's room. It was the first day that everyone had arrived. Molly was sitting on her bed reading a book that she brought in case she got bored. Though tired she was, Molly stood up and made her way towards the door. She quietly stepped into the deserted, dim-lit hall.
She had hoped to find one of her friends lingering in the corridors, but as she walked around the fully decorated halls, she found not one soul creeping about. Molly hadn't explored the castle very much, so the only place she knew about was the Entrance Hall and the way back to her room. So she decided to go there.
When Molly got to the Entrance Hall, she saw that a lot of people were there. She should have known they would be there, after all this was their first night in Switzerland. She saw an open table and sat down. She would sit there for about twenty minutes to see if anyone she knew would come and talk to her, but if they didn't she would just go back to her room and sleep.

It was the night after the morning they had arrived at the Castle and things were already becoming chaotic. Younger students ran about, conversing with loquacious eagerness, but, the sounds of their voices resonated interminably around the walls of the castle. It seemed that most students disregarded normal, school rules just because they were no longer at Hogwarts. Many of them shouted tumultuously and acted in preposterously rambunctious ways. Perseus watched his hawk owl soar in circles as the wind from the outside blew across an open book on his lap, and it fluttered like a bird as the pages turned. As he studied his calculus and physics, Perseus realized that only after a day, he was already beginning on his old habit; studying whenever he could. This was not neccessarily a bad thing, as it could help him ameliorate his knowledge on the subject, ability to solve sophisticated problems, and could also bring his intelligence to a new level.
He hadn't seen Nasser since the last time they met, which was about five days ago in the Student Lounge back in Hogwarts; same with Molly, whom he had just met 4 days ago in the same location. Just as he began remiscing about the good time he had with them, Perseus saw Molly sit down on a table in the middle of the Entrance Hall, which also served as a leisure area.
"Good evening, Molly!" Perseus greeted with a smile. "I haven't seen you in a couple of days. So, how's everything going? Do you like it here in Switzerland? Have you seen Nasser anywhere? I'd like to tell both of you about some 'secret' passageways Jaquin and I have discovered."

Molly tied her hair back and looked at her watch. It read 9:50. She sighed and found herself longing to talk to her friends especially Perseus of whom she hadn't seen in a few days. After a few minutes she heard a voice. She looked up and found that the voice belonged to Pereus. Molly was a little surprised to see him since she had just been thinking about him.
"Why hello Perseus! I know, It's been so long since I last saw you! I'm doing well. I love it here! I've just been talking to Jasmine and a few other people . . . it's been great!" Molly was so excited to see Perseus, that she couldn't stop herself from rambling on and on. She stopped and thought if she had seen Nasser anywhere. "No I havn't seen him latley. . . wait a minute! You found a secret passageway!? Where does it go? Where is it?" Molly paused to take a breath and smiled at Perseus. "Have you seen Justin anywhere?" Molly only had met Justin once, but she had liked him as soon as they met, he was friendly and a person you could talk to.
"What have you been doing all this time?"

Switzerland was cold. "Extremely, incredibly, dangerously cold," thought Nasser as he tied his shoelaces. He was taking every precaution possible against a cold for the last thing he wanted was to stay in bed while everyone else enjoyed themselves skiing and partying and enjoying their vacation. All the OWL students were in dire need of a holiday, and a break from the constant nagging of their teachers about the importance of this year and the exams at the end of it. Not that Nasser lacked motivation. He had an ambition which was to become a Healer and he was working hard for it. But hard work from September to the middle of December was certainly exhausting. The trip had been an exciting surprise, and though he was going to miss not going home for the holidays he had been looking forward to it very much. He looked at his watch as he wrapped his scarf a little more tightly around his neck. He was to meet Perseus in a few minutes, and his new friend Molly who Nasser knew from the common room but had never had a real conversation with before.
"Hey you two!" said Nasser as he walked up to the two. It was good to see Perseus with someone other than Jaquin, he had always been a bit of a loner and his closest friend was Jaquin who was a lot like Perseus; studious, intelligent and very quiet, in one word, a bookworm. Nasser knew Perseus had always liked it that way; he didn’t like talking to a lot of people so it was good to see he had made a new friend other than Sethia and Nasser all by himself. "Did I catch the words "Secret passageway"? Two days here and you and Jaquin have already found one?" inquired Nasser, knowing his friend's love of exploring new places.

"Oh, I've been snooping around, brewing potions, and whatnot. Hey, Nasser! Good to see you, good to see you..... Yes, we did find a secret passageway, along with another Slytherin who is quite like me and a Ravenclaw 5th year. I daresay you know her? Her name's Jasmine. Anyways, the secret passageway really isn't a secret passageway. It actually leads to a chamber that seems to be full of boggarts. Jaquin had great fun tackling a Basilisk, but, I don't know what the boggarts of the two girls were," Perseus answered both questions with a grin. He knew that Nasser had been studying sedulously and with great diligence to become a healer which was a very respectable position. This was obviously because of its need for lots of brains and that Nasser had. Perseus knew that Nasser would do exceptionally well on his O.W.L.s test not only because of his great ambition, but also because of his unwavering intelligence.
Perseus paused for a moment before continuing the conversation, "I don't recommend entering that accursed place again, but, Jaquin and I also found another that leads to a great observation tower! So, do you guys want to go skiing, broom racing, practice the patronus charm, or look for secret passageways. You know this is the time of year to have great fun no matter how dark the wizarding world is, right now..."

Molly looked up when she heard the door open. It was Nasser who entered. She had never actually had a conversation with him, but had seen him around the castle. "Hi" said Molly as he got nearer. Molly listened to thier conversation. They talked about the secret passageways. Molly always wanted to go looking for one at Hogwarts. There were so many rooms she hadn't been in. It was just an amazing place. Now that they were in a new castle Molly got an erge to see what rooms were in it, but by what Perseus was saying he had already explored the castle. So if they were bored of that, which they probably were, Molly really wanted to hit the slopes. Although she had never skiied before, she thought she could easiley learn how.
"Do you guys wanna go skiing?" asked Molly anxiously. She glanced at the window, looking longingly at the falling snow.

"Sure, why not? It's dark but they've got all those lampposts on and we’ve got our wands in case we need more light," said Nasser. "Why don’t we all go get our skiing gear? I can see someone's looking forward to skiing," said Nasser, smiling at Molly who was gazing longingly out of the window. "Wow, it's snowing again," said Nasser, stating the obvious after he looked in the same direction. Nasser went up to his room and got his skiing gear, then joined the other two. He looked out of the window waiting for them to get their own equipment. The snow was building up and Nasser looked at the small hills they would be skiing on. The whole scene made one feel at peace with the world, the white snow in contrast with the pitch darkness of the night, and the small lampposts illuminating the now obliterated paths other skiers had been skiing on before them.
"Ready to hit the slopes you two?" he asked excitedly. "By the way, I'm no professional, but I've been skiing a few times so I know the basics. What about you two?" he inquired.

Molly was delighted to hear that they could all go skiing together. She turned back towards the two boys. "I'll go get my gear real quick." She ran towards the end of the hall, threw open the doors, and quickly ran to her room and found the snowboard she had rented. She quickly made her way back to their table dressed and fully equiped. "um . . . I've never skiied before, but I do know how to snowboard." Molly blushed deep red. True she had never skiied in her life but snowboarding was one thing she had done. "So if you guys don't mind, I'm going to go snowboarding instead of skiing."
Molly glanced out the window once again and looked at the snow covered hills. She couldn't wait to get out there. "I'm ready to go."

"Great! Let's go then! I'm not that good at skiing either, Nasser," Perseus answered. He watched Nasser go up to his room and get his skiing gear. Perseus was much too lazy, so, with a swish of his wand, all his skiing gear appeared out of nowhere and Perseus slung the equipement onto his back. They traversed through the dim halls that were now very dark and seemed to be full of melancholy. Perseus hurried onwards, through the lounge room, and out the front entrance. The sky was now an amalgamation of dark blue, purple, and magenta. The clouds that had been so tightly packed together that morning had now dispersed. It was a pulchritudinous sight that was rarely seen on the slopes of Switzerland.
"All right! So, what do you say? We race down the hill until we reach the end and whoever wins gets this slab of Honeydukes chocolate?" Perseus suggested with a warm smile.

Molly walked into the dark, errie corridors with Perseus and Nasser, eager to get on the slopes. When they got outside to the fresh air Molly looked around the sun was setting, it was pretty dark. There were lamp posts around, but they didn't give off much light. Molly stuck her hand in her pocket and touched her wand, very thankful for it.
"yeah, ok we'll race. I'm in!" Molly looked at all the slopes. "so . . . what do you think the best slope would be to go on?" She stared at the biggest slope. Trees were surrounding it, it didn't actually look like a ski slope, it looked more like a dense forest. Molly imagined herself on that slope, crashing into a tree. It was not the best thing to think about when they were just about to race. She then saw a normal-sized slope in which there were no trees or any thing blocking the path. "Hey how about that slope?" said Molly as she pointed at the hill.

"Snowboarding! That sounds really cool! Of course, if you’re comfortable with that you don't have to try skiing. I don’t think it's the best time for your lesson in skiing anyway," said Nasser. He looked at Perseus who had summoned his skiing equipment instead of getting it himself. "Lazy bones," he said with an impish smile. Summoning Charms were one of the best charms wizardkind had invented in Nasser's opinion; they saved a lot of time and effort. He wouldn’t have been comfortable summoning his skiing stuff though in case it hit anyone. Perseus of course had performed it admirably and he caught his gear deftly as it flew towards him. Nasser smiled at Molly as they walked outside. "I've never seen anyone snowboard before. Is it fun?" he asked. Nasser was wondering a little about this new friend Perseus had made and thinking he wanted to get to know her better. He didn’t really have a lot of friends in his own house and was sometimes bored when he was in the common room.
The three walked down the corridor which lead outside and Nasser looked at the awe-inspiring scene before him, saying nothing for minute. Molly then pointed at a little hill but it was too dark for him to see clearly. "Lumos," said Nasser, pointing his wand at the hill Molly had indicated. The light illuminated the hill Molly meant and Nasser thought it looked safe enough. "Yeah, that looks pretty safe. My skiing is a little rusty; it's been some time since I've done this, so no need to go for a really steep hill," he said. He put on his skis and stood in the slightly bent position that was allegedly the best way to start, leaned on his poles, and then tried to remember the proper way to shift his weight. "Ready?" he asked the two. They looked as eager as he did so Nasser counted aloud, "One, two, three!" He glided down the slope, his momentum building up as he did so and Nasser felt the familiar thrill down his spine that he always felt when he skied.
((Perseus, I don't know if you used a Summoning Charm or something else, if you didn’t tell me and I'll edit this post. Both of you feel free to have your character win the race.))

Molly, Nasser, and Perseus went onto the ski lift, Molly's snowboard dangling dangerously off the edge. She looked down at the people below skiing this way and that. Molly got off the ski lift and thrust her body forward, glideding over to the starting line, she drew in a deep breath as Nasser started counting. And as if a magical hand was pushing her, she began to slide down the slope. It was a sensational feeling. Molly felt like a bird soaring through the air.
She swirved right to avoid a person that was going very fast, uncontrollably fast. Another person raced after the one that was out of control, again Molly took a sharp turn to the left to avoid that person. Molly could see Perseus and Nasser in the distance, she sped up, desperatley trying to catch up to them. She closed her eyes for a few seconds and imagined herself flying. If she could just let go of the fear of hurting someone and crashing she would probably be able to catch up to them. Molly opened her eyes. It was now pitch black, all she could see was the person in front of her. Molly grabbed her wand out of her pocket "Lumos" she said breathlessley. She looked over to her left and saw Perseus and Nasser. She had caught up to them. It was going to be a close race.

Perseus lept off the ski lift and landed at the beginning of the ski course. "All right! Let's go!" Perseus exclaimed as he pushed himself off and down the steep slope. Endeavoring to gain momentum and velocity, Perseus tucked his ski poles under his arms and crouched down. His low posture allowed him to catch up to Nasser who was skiing admirably. They sped on, neck to neck for about a minute before Perseus as though experiencing a premonition looked back to see Molly speeding towards them. He swirved to the right and went off a high ski jump. "Whoa!!" he exclaimed as he flailed his arms in the air and landed rather untidely in the snow. Although the ski jump was not a very elating experience (more like frightening), Perseus still found it helpful in boosting his speed.
Soon afterwards, Perseus found himself next to Nasser, ahead of him, no..... behind him..... then neck to neck again. It was unambiguously a fine sport, but, Perseus still felt a bit uneasy strapped to two peices of wood and soaring down the slope at 40-60 miles per hour. As they neared the end of the course, he raked the snow with his ski poles, attempting to gain velocity on the final run. But, there was a slight problem; the area was now completely Cimmerian. As Perseus flew onwards through the last stretch of course, he ignited his wand and it illuminated his path brightly. Abruptly, Perseus swerved to a stop as he passed the last flag. "I don't think I'll be doing that again......." Perseus exclaimed as he saw Nasser scoot over towards him. "Nice run, anyways, Nasser, Molly. You guys can each have a peice of chocolate, anyways...."

Molly was almost to the finish line, but Perseus was too fast for her. He slipped in front and won the race. She unclipped herself from her snowboard and walked towards Perseus and Nasser. "Congradulations Perseus and yes I will be taking my chocolate . . ." said Molly with a smile. Molly was actually glad she had not won the race, she didn't want to get a big head about it. "What now? Shall we head back inside or stay out here for a little while longer?" asked Molly as she looked around at the castle. She would rather stay outside and enjoy the starry night, it was quite beautiful, a full moon, stars brightly shining, it was truly a sight to withhold. She looked up at the sky, she loved sitting outside at home on the porch with her father, especially when she was little. They would star gaze either until Molly fell asleep or the sun came up.
Molly turned back towards Perseus and Nasser. "So guys, what's the plan?"

Night had come and the darkness enveloped the three like a black curtain. Nasser ate the chocolate Perseus offered him with a grateful smile, Honeydukes made the best chocolate in the world in his opinion. The sparkling stars in the night sky were a spectacular sight, and Nasser leaned back and supported his weight on his hands, awed by this lovely sight. "Mmm… thanks mate. Good race you two," he said happily. The race had been fun, as all three had practically reached at the same time, and anyway it had just been a friendly race. Nasser always liked any physical kind of activity, though he knew was much better at playing Quidditch than any muggle sport, except perhaps softball and he hadn't played that in years. Molly looked a jolly nice girl and Nasser wondered how it was hey were in the same common room and never talked to each other before.
"Let's not go in just yet. Let's sit on the steps, I don’t feel sleepy at all. It's so lovely here, don’t you think. You know we can't stay up late at school," said Nasser, though he could tell the other two wouldn't need a lot of convincing. "So you two never told me when you met each other at school? Perseus is always so busy studying or brewing potions or practicing Quidditch, I hardly ever see him socialising," said Nasser, looking at the two and then back up at the sky.

Even though impregnable, high winds were concentrating in their area, Perseus felt warmth spread through his body, as the Honeydukes chocolate created a feeling of euphoria that welled up inside him. He sat down with a grin on his face next to Nasser and Molly. Glancing up at the clear, Cimmerian sky, Perseus could see the stars twinkling in the distance, as if multiple eyes were winking down at them. He lit a warm fire with his wand that crackled merrily in his open palms. Penumbrae spread in every which way, covering the deep, white snow that spread across deep valleys which were connected to the steppes of collosal mountatins that shadowed the land. Perseus looked towards Nasser as he commented on his and Molly's meeting. "Well, if truth be told, Molly and I met right after I talked with you that night in the student lounge," Perseus explained. "So, where have you gone? Have you visited any of the villages?" (( A bit short.))

“Really?” said Nasser, turning to look at the two instead of the starlit sky. The Student Lounge had indeed been a good idea; people from different houses were now mingling with each other much more than before. Nasser wondered if that had been Dumbledore’s idea from the start, maybe he was carrying out the Hat’s advice and trying to get the four houses of Hogwarts to realise that their real strength lay in them working together instead of constantly being in competition with each other. Not that there was anything wrong with a fair challenge or competition but the Slytherins and Gryffindors tended to take things to extremes. Nasser was also Perseus was getting the chance to socialize with people and spend less time in the Slytherin common room, for the Slytherins loathed and scorned Perseus because he befriended people who were not purebloods, and tried to give him a bad time whenever they got the chance. Not that Nasser worried too much about Perseus for he knew his friend was more than a match for any of the Slytherins and knew more about magic than most of them, but he didn’t like his friend always having to be on his guard. He deserved a better place to spend his free time than the Slytherin common room and better people to talk to than his housemates.
Perseus asked Nasser if he had been to any villages in Weinig Zug. “No, at least not yet. I’ve just been exploring the castle and hanging out with other Gryffindors, I haven’t done much outside the castle but I am looking forward to spending Christmas day at Lake Thun. It is supposed to be a lovely place according to the brochure we got before the trip and they say there’s going to be a great feast on the same day. We should go to one of the village together,” he suggested. “I wonder what the Swiss people are like; it’s always interesting to meet people from different cultures,” he continued. Noticing that Molly hadn’t said anything for a while Nasser addressed her directly this time when he asked his next question. “What about you Molly? Been out and about yet?” he asked conversationally.
((That’s no problem.))

Molly nodded as Perseus told Nasser how they met. "I think exploring the village would be fun, I havn't seen all of it yet." Molly thought about where she had been and where she planned to go. "Well I have been to the village once, it was a very nice place, good for shopping." added Molly with a smile. Oh how she did love to shop, it was great fun. "On Christmas I'm going to go ice skating with Jasmine for a little while and then I'm free for the day." Molly was curious as to what she would do afterward, she had nothing planned for the day. Originally she was supposed to spend it with her father, like she did every Christamas, but her plans changed and she went on the trip instead.
"I think it would be fun to go to the village again though because it really was a good place to hang out. Have either of you been there yet?" said Molly, once again bringing up the village. "we could do that on Christmas, inless you both made plans already, but if we're going to go we should go in the afternoon and maybe bring along a couple of our other friends." said Molly with a look of happiness. There was nothing in the world that could make her happier on Christmas day than being with all her friends.
