Parvati Patil placed her lavender shoulderbag on the chair opposite her and sat down. Slipped her shoes of her feet, placed them on the table in front of her and looked into the fire. The flames danced around the opening and swirled into the midnight mist. She had made just before curfew and was quite proud with herself considering for the past few days she had been entering at the wrong time.
She leaned her head against the back of the chair and sighed, trying to forget all the equations and spells in her mind that were rolling around lazily. whispering in her ears, the incantations and latin that she had learned that day. She tried to block them but they kept coming and finally she gave up and muttered them under her breath.
Parvati was artsy, crazy, but not insane. People thought she was though, but that was mainly because she kept to herself and never really talked to anyone, unless they were close to her. And if you did talk to her, she would talk back, she was always up to making new friends. She laughed at herself and opened her bag, withdrew her sketchbook and a pencil, and started to sketch a star outside the window.

Amelia sighed as she walked up the stairs from the Great Hall. Breakfast had just finsihed and she felt content now that her stomache was full. She past many students on her way there, none that she knew, and finally came to the Fat Lady's portrait.
"Hollow," she said and entered the Common Room. Immediatly she noticed it was almost empty. Except for a few. Parvati sat drawing near the window. Amelia decided to say hello. She walked over to the girl and sat beside her and smiled.
"Hello, Paravti!" she extended her hand, "I'm a friend of Jordan's, whos a friend of Kesley... who you know!" she laughed

Parvati glanced up from her drawing and looked at Amelia. The third year was smiling and she seemed happy. Parvati dropped her pencil and extended her hands to meet Amelias.
"Hi." She said shortly. Dropping her hand and rturning to her drawing.

Amelia sighed and watched as the girl continued to draw. She sat down and titled her head. Then she turned serious.
"Um, I was just wondering if you wanted to talk" Amelia said in a voice that sounded older. she waited for Paravti's answer.

Parvati sighed, closed her sketchbook and situated her body so it faced Amelia. Parvati didnt like sounding so cruel. But for some reason today wasnt a good day. She did need someone to talk to, and she hoped to the Lord that Amelia wouldnt run off, bored.
"Okay sure. But, I have a question for you. Do you think I hate Padma? I dont really. It's just, I'm jealous of her. I am older then her by some minutes and that even makes her get what she wants. She's smarter, happier, get's along great with everyone and I am average, miserable, and too shy to talk to anyone on my own. She has good grades, I dont. All I have is my few close friends and art." Parvati said in a rush. She breathed in and closed her eyes, trying to rid of this feeling. She hated the feeling of jealousy, but talking about Padma did that. And she hated that so many people thought that Parvati hated Padma. That wasnt the case. Parvati loved Padma with all her heart, she just, didnt understand how they were exactly the same, yet so different.

"I always knew you loved Padma, I may be blonde, Parvati- but i'm not stupid!" she smiled, "It's a Muggle saying," she explained automatically.
Parvati was a nice person. She liked everyone, it seemed. And her and padma were sisters. They naturally love eachother.

Parvati smiled and looked at Amelia. A thought running across her mind. She nodded and then opened her mouth to say something, but it didnt come out. Again she opened her mouth to say it and this time it happened.
"I love Padma, I really do. But Jelousy is an evil thing, isn't it?" She asked a small smile playing across her lips. She looked down at her sketchbook and nodded. This was bringing back memories, she would rather not face again.BUt Parvati thought it good that she was talking about this sort of thing. Especially considering the things she had heard about herself and her sister.

Amelia laced her fingers together and her mind clicked to that way she acted when someone needed any kind of help. Amelia looked at Parvati rather seriously.
"Parvati, you love your sister, i know that... and hopfully she does too," Amelia began, "But you need to stop all this jelousey and realize how wonderfull you are and stop worrying about something about your sister!" Amelia knew what she was talking about. her mom told her this about her brother all the time (not the jelousy part but stop this stupidness!).
"Parvati, I think you and you sister need to have a long talk one of these days and you need to express some of these feelings you've got tucked inside your brain! How do you know that padma doesn't feel the same way?" Amelia hated how buissness like she sounded when she started helping someone, but she was a natural giver and she always tried to do what was right.

"Hah! Padma be jealous of me? She's too wrapped up in her own pretty life to be jealous of me pety one!" Parvati said with a huff. She crossed her arms and looked away. She then realized her anger towards the girl and sighed.
"I'm sorry. This is a very touchy subject with me. I have tried to talk to Padma. She's too busy to hear me." Parvati said after a minute. She turned back to face Amelia and shook her head.
"I guess I'll have to live with it eh?" She asked, a weak smile across her face.

Amelia smiled a reassuring smile.
"It's okay! I mean everyone has these human feelings... right?" she laughed.
"That just sounded so alien like... these 'human feelings'..." she laughed and shrugged.

Parvati smiled, glad that she had someone to talk with about this. Padma wouldn't listen. Her parents were oblivious to it. Jaquin had listened, and he had shown her Padma's point of view, but really...Parvati was still mad.
"Well, I don't know...it's all so....annoying." Parvati responded with an air of thoughfulness.

Amelia shrugged.
"It always is." she sighed, "I was jelouse once too. So I know what it feels like,"

Parvati looked at Amelia, with mocked shock,
"Jealous? Of whom?"She asked, her curiousity rising.

Amelia looked down, a smile on her face.
"well... It was a long time ago. Okay not so long ago!" she laughed slightly, "I didn't know i was a witch for the longest time. once i got my letter, i knew. But i was so mad! I thought that my friend, Jenna was better then me, because she was normal. I was so mad at how many friends she had... at how prettier she was, but then i realized how lucky i was to be a witch. And even luckier to leave her sorry butt behind and come to Hogwarts!"
