Bee was tired. So tired. As she walked into the common room she thought wow those armchairs look real cozy. The common room was warm and welcoming. I could get use to this, Bee thought as she walked towards the armchairs. Her bag was cutting into her shoulder but she ignored it. Bee had lots of homework to do but for right now she just wanted to relax.
She had finished all her homework after working for about 30 minutes. It had all seemed easy but Bee knew she probably had gotten almost everything wrong. Deciding to take a nap in the armchair closest to the fire, Bee got in a comfortable position and fell asleep. It seemed like Bee had just closed her eyes when she heard someone walk into the room.

Lina tapped her foot angrily on the ground as she glared at the fat lady positioned in the picture. She had spent the last 3 minutes trying to buy her way into the common room since she had forgotten the password, or she was so exhausted, the word was far from her mind. Her thin dark brown hair frizzed in certain places places, but it still lay flat on her head. Lina crossed her arms, and squeezed them as she tried to think of the word.
"Listen woman... do I look like someone who wants to ruin the Gryffindor Common Room?!" She said, her tone exasperated.
"With that kind of attitude, I would assume so!" Said the woman, her voice high and shrill.
"Seriously... this is ridiculous... I DEMAND entry into the commonroom!" She yelled, stamping her foot on the marble floor.
The fat lady ignored her gesture, and began to turn in her picture, "No wait- Come off it- !" She said, her voice growing more desperate. She dropped her books as she thought hard for the password.
Finally, the word came to her mind, "HA! I got it the password is hollow!" She said triumphly as she watched the fat lady grumble something, and force the picture open. Lina grinned as she quickly picked up her books, and rushed into the commonroom.
Lina looked down at her watch, and clicked her tongue, "I've still got to finish homework..." She said as she walked towards an armchair.

Bee heard some loud shouting outside. It didn't stop for a while and she was kinda getting worried. She was just going to get up and go check out what was happening, when the portrait opened. A girl came in around her age and she seemed rather busy. She muttered something as she headed toward an armchair. Bee decided she should talk to the gril. "Hi! Wanna sit down over here?" She said in a friendly tone. "Oh, and by the way, my name is Bridget, Bee for short. I am sorry, but what's your name again?" She asked this as politly as she could, hopping this girl would join her.

Lina looked up at Bridget surprised by the fact that someone else was there. She smiled at Bridget's offer, and gladly took the seat next to her maybe she wouldn't have to spend this night alone. She brushed her hair behind her ear, and quickly made her way towards the chair, and plopped into it. The books in her hand instantly drooped onto the floor, and Lina slunk deeper into the chair.
"Oh don't worry about it - my names' Lina." She said, tilting her head towards Bee. "Been here long?" She inquired, not wanting to bring the conversation to an end so quickly.

She smiled widely as the girl took her offer. She intoduced herself to be Lina and she had transferred her two days ago. "Wow! That has to be harsh. Yeah, I have been here for a while but it doesn't really seem like it." She looked down, thinking. This girl was perfectly able to make friends, but yet, when Bee was a first year, she had been unable to make friends at all. She had felt sorry for herself back then and now she envied Lina, for her friend making skill. Something Bee had lacked. She looked back up at Lina. "How do you like Hogwarts so far?"

Lina smiled genuinely towards Bee. She seemed a bit out of it for a few seconds as if she was thinking something in her head. She allowed her to linger in her thoughts for awhile while she went into her own. It was nice of this girl to offer her a seat, it allowed her to get her thoughts off the work she would have to catch up on.
Bee's voice brought her back to reality, and she looked up at her and thought over the question. At Magie und Zauberei, Lina was treated like a princess because of her money, but she didn't really have any real ones. The fact was, she wouldn't let any of them get close to her, but nevertheless, she was always surrounded. At hogwarts, she was so indulged in catching up, with her work, she hadn't really talked to anyone. Even worse, she was really tempermental sue to all the work. But now everyday seemed to dissolve easily.
"Well Hogwarts has a different atmosphere compared to Magie und Zauberei." Lina said thoughtfully as she peered up towards the ceiling, "But it's nice." She said her tone blank.
Lina turned her eyes back to Bee, and studied her features, "You're a muggle-born, right?" She said, her tone hinting no sense of displeasure.

She grinned at Lina. Bee had a hard time making friends, but Lina seemed different from the others. She just seemed friendly. She listened as Lina talked. It sounded like she liked Hogwarts but she had seen better. Bee perked up when Lina asked if she was a muggle born. "Yeah, I am. I am from London actually. My dad, he is a....uh....." Her dad was a stay home dad because he was too lazy to go to work. "He...uh...stays home taking care of us." Bee said as casual as she could. Her dad did not even care about her or her twin brother. She couldn't say what her mom did because her mom was no longer alive. So, really that was all Bee could say about her family. "So, how about you? What do your parents do?" She hoped this wasn't a bad question to ask. After all, everyone asked Bee that question and she usually didn't answer it. She smiled at Lina and waited for her reply.

Lina rubbed her eyes as Bee spoke about her family. She knew it was an awkward question, but nevertheless went forth answering it. She always felt more comfortable knowing what type of environment people came from that way she would know what she was dealing with. She took account of Bee's tone and the way she spoke, it seemed that she lived in a frigid environment at home, perhaps one that wasn't as warm the one that hogwarts offered.
Of course that was understandable, not all muggle-born birth parents were very proud of what they unleashed, but the wasn't the best thing for Lina to assume she had already assumed enough by this time now.
When the question of her family was brought up, which was expected, Lina thought of who to speak about. Her father neglected her, he totally shut her out of his life. Her mother was gone, lost somewhere in the muggle world living in an ignorant bliss, the only person that she actually considered her family was her caretaker Doriam, or as muggle's labeled them; her butler.
But Lina didn't know what Doriam did exactly, let alone her father. It was probably something big if he brought in a large enough income for the family.
"I believe my father works in the ministry of magic." Lina finally said after a long silence. Her voice was cool and blank just like it always was. She didn't like hinting anything about how she felt, "My mother probably does something in the muggle world, course I wouldn't know much about that." She added as she began to stroke her cheek with her fingers, "But enough about family." She finally said abruptly as she placed turned in her chair so that her back was leaning on the arm, and she could see Bee clearly. She crossed her legs, and said, "You on the quidditch team?" Lina asked, her voice a bit enthusiastic.

That was a terrible question to ask. Why, oh why, did she have to ask about Linas' family? It seemed that Lina had the same problems as Bee. Bees' mother had died the day before she had gotten her letter to Hogwarts. Her father, upset about his wifes' death, had taken all his emotions out on Bee, who looked just like her mom. It had turned into torturing and Bee had hated her house. But at Hogwarts, she could relax. She felt relieved when Lina said"......enough about family...." When Lina asked about the quiditch team, Bee smiled. "I was thinking about trying out, but I am not sure......Do you think I should?"

Lina shrugged towards Bee's question, Lina was quite a promoter, but only if she understood what the person's skill was. She thought about it, "Well what position do you want to play, and do you think YOU can do it? I can't really promote what I don't know." Lina said with a smile, considering if she should try out for the team as well herself.
She had just had her broom mailed in this morning, and besides it be great if Bee were on the team as well they'd have each other to cheer on. They could practice together, 'Is it took late to go out?' Lina thought to herself as she looked down at her watch. Of course it was, so going out now was out of the question. She turned her attention back to Bee as she listened for her response. By this time now, Lina had completely forgotten about the work she had piled for herself to do. Besides, even if she didn't finish it now, there was always tomorrow.

She smiled at Lina. She was being truthful towards Bee, unlike other people, who just say: "Oh yes, you would be great!" But Lina just asked how good she was and stuff. "I think I could do it. I mean, I would enjoy it and I could be really good.....I would like to be a beater if there is any room for a beater....... I think I will try out....What about you? Are you going to try out?" It would be wonderful if Lina was on the team with her. They could be there for each other and they could pracitse together. It would be great. Bee listened intently for Linas' answer, hoping it was yes.

Lina chuckled towards Bee's response, "Beater hey... interesting choice. I was expecting chaser but with your build I guess it would make sense." Lina said as she looked over Bee's features. Bee was more built than Lina, she had more muscle and broader features, where as Lina was small but held athletic features. Being a beater for Lina was a possiblity but she didn't really strive for that.
She pondered Bee's question, yesterday, she had written a letter to Doriam about joining the team, but she wasn't sure if she could ensure a position, but as she said, a reserve was just as well.
"Well..." Lina began as she rested her head on her fist, "I was thinking of going for chaser." She said with a curious smirk. "I guess that'd be a yes, but first I'd like to check out the quidditch field... you know get the feel of it." She said with a smile.

Bee noticed Lina was looking at her. It seemed like she was sizing her up, to see if she was good or not. Bee didn't mind people looking at her. She was muscular and tall, with tan skin and light blonde hair. Everyone thought she had an interesting apearence and lots of people had looked at her to see if she was good at something, and Bee didn't mind. Lina said she wanted to be a chaser and that she was going to try out. "It would be interesting, wouldn't it, to be out there on the quiditch pitch, instead of watching? I mean, I have always cheered the team on, but it would be different if I was the one getting the cheers. It would make me feel good. It's just......I don't want to make a fool of myself out there in front of everyone. I would probably never get on a broomstick again...."Bee said. Of course, that wasn't true. She loved to fly and she would never give that up. She looked at Lina. Lina had a small build, but she looked athletic. Bee heard that small and skinny people, make great seekers. "Maybe you should think about trying out for seeker. No offense, or anything, but you have a small build, which is perfect for seeking." Bee didn't know if that position was available or not but once it became available, Lina could try out for it if she wanted. But, if Lina wanted to be a Chaser, she should be a chaser. People should always follow their dreams.

Lina nodded as she listened to Bee talk about her opinion on quidditch. After she was done observing her, she went to look straight into Bee's eyes. It was always more respectful to talk to people that way. It gave the impression that you cared about their opinion and what they said.
She chuckled when Bee commented on her build, "Nah none taken, I've practiced every position before ye know. But from what I've heard that Potter kid has got the position up already. First, first year to get on the team. Pretty impressive." She said as she arched her eyebrow. "But Chaser is just as good, I'm fast in the air, no one'll be able to catch me, let alone block my throws." She said with her confident smile.
Lina thought of how it would feel to be on the team, she felt that rushing feeling before. The roar of the crowds that egged you on. "It's absolutely marvelous..." She said aloud, not noticing that she had spoken out of her mind, "It's the greatest honor to play for your school..." She said with a smile, "I say we should try out you know. That way if we're both rejected we could drown ourselves in frozen yougurt, or vice-versa." Lina said laughing.

Bee smiled at Lina as Lina spoke with confidence about her ability on a broomstick. She laughed with Lina about the part if we both got rejected. "Yeah, I think your right about the Harry Potter part. Gosh, how could I forget about him. I think he is the team captain too....." She frowned inwardly at the thought. She would have to speak to Harry Potter, the boy who lived. What would she say to someone like that? She was surprised that she was afraid of talking to someone. Usually, Bee was on friendly terms with most people, but the thought of talking to someone famous made her stomach churn. She looked at Lina, who was looking at her straight in the eyes. "I think you would make a great chaser, with that attitude." Bee added. She hadn't seen Lina on a broom yet, but if someone had a confident attitude towards their abilities, they could be great. She smiled at Lina. This was a lot of fun talking to Lina. Bee had forgotten about everything else; she was enjoying herself.

"Thanks..." Lina said with a smile, "And you'd make a great beater as well." She added as she averted her gaze, and stared back at the fire. She was thinking the same thing as Bee, she would have to speak to this Potter boy about it. She knew about Harry Potter, the boy who lived, all that jazz. She didn't feel intimidated by him, she just wondered how she would approach him.
She flicked the idea aside, and turned back to Bee, "Anyways, what time is it?" Lina said with a laugh as she noticed her books that still lay on the floor. Homework she would have to get to, yuck.

Bee grinned at Lina.
"I'm not sure what time it is. I'm sure it's late though.." She said thoughtfully. "Do you still have homework to do? I think I finished most of mine.." She looked at her bag that was lying on the floor. She was almost positive that she had finished all of it. She remembered that she had two apples in her bag.
"Would you like an apple? I'm always starving!" She grinned at Lina and reached down to her bag, grabbed the apples. She held out the apple for Lina to take.

Lina nodded as Bee told her the time, she would just finish up her work tomorrow. No harm done, she already knew WHAT to do, it was WANTING to do it that really took play into this type of situation. She looked up at Bee's sudden gesture, and looked down at the apple, "That was random..." Lina said with a laugh as she held her hand out to recieve it.
"It's not like poisoned or anything." Lina said in a joking tone as she stared at it intently.

Crystal glared at the Fat Lady. She had just finished herbology and she was not in a good mood. To say that she did not have a green thumb was an understatement. All the plants she tried to grow ended up dying or even mutating somehow!
"You're not pronouncing it correctly. It's hall-lo." reiterated the fat lady.
Crystal sighed and replied "Listen, the password is hallow, h-a-l-l-o-w. Does it matter how I pronounce it?"
"Of course! If you pronounce it differently, I might..." The fat lady opened the portrait and Crystal charged through the door to the safe haven.
Hardly had Crystal begun to rush when she screeched to a stop. Sitting in the common room were two girls staring almost dumbstruck at her.
"Ummmm, am I interrupting anythng?" Crystal asked.
