The day was far to quite to keep him happy. Payton was off somewhere, he was no fun since he made frineds with girls. Well, girls were good, afer all Jordan wa a girla nd she could keep up with him, but Payton liked girls that were dull. Like things like books and class. No fun at all. Somehow Jordan was no where to be found, and he had given up on trying to find Payton most of the time, so a few fireworks and stink bombs later he was making his way into the common room with every bad intentions.
Once inside he saw that it was pretty deserted, thougt htere was a girl he had never met sitting on a couch. He wondered why he had never met her and then decided maybe he should save his treasures until there were more people in the common room. He instead bounded over to the stranger and let hismelf drop into a heap at the floor at the edge of the couch.
"Who are you and what ya' doing?"

Katie leaned her head back against the couch and took a deep breath. It felt nice to just sit and relax. She had run her laps around the lake and had just gotten out of the shower. The scent of vanilla plum was still fresh in her hair, floating around her. Katie couldn’t remember the last time she was able to just sit and do nothing, without worrying about when she would finish her homework or how much time she had before classes began. But now, all her homework was finished and she didn’t have any classes to be going to. She was absolutely free.
Her eyes opened at the sound of a voice by her feet. She looked down to see a boy sitting on the floor by her feet. “I’m Katie Robbins,” she replied with her usual sweet smile, “and I’m not really doing anything at the moment. And you?”
He tiled his head slightly as she answered, trying to figure out if he knew her. She wasn't a first year, looked too old for that. First years always stood out anyway. ALways looked suprised when you set fireworks off. No, not and ickle firstie, but what was she then. Had to be in hufflepuff for years now, but he should knwo her then. He knew everyone. Okay, not everyone, he tended to semi knew people because he remember how they reactied to pranks but that tended to be it. He tried to remember if he had seen her react to a prank before but nothing came to mind. She couldn't have been compleatly out of his prank circle could she?
"Dillion!" He said loudly, jumping his feet as he did. Sitting still was never somethign he was good at. "Dillion Moore. Not doing much of anything. Talking I guess, to you, don'tk now you, never met you, wondering why. Should have met you, in the same house and we never met! Sixth year, not possible. What year are you? Four? Seven? Three? Five?"

Katie giggled a little as Dillion jumped up. He seemed really jumpy or on the edge, like he was ready for something to have a go at him any second. Katie found people like that to be very amusing. Jane was like that when she got excited. When she heard that he had never seen her before she wasn’t too surprised. Katie tended to blend in with the crowd. She was quiet, conserved, a little shy, that wasn’t usually the type of person to stand out really well. She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear before replying:
“I’m a 5th year. I’ve seen you before and I know who you are. I was actually referring to what you were doing at the moment, but that’s my fault. I should have been clearer. I’m sorry. So, um, what’s up?”
She stumbled over her words a bit as she spoke. It was hard for her to think of anything to say. Dillion seemed to speak so comfortably and carefree, but Katie felt too nervous to have her brain functioning properly. She was always like this at first around people she didn’t know. For a while her parents had actually thought that she had Social Anxiety Disorder. It just took her a little while to warm up was all. Katie put on a small smile and looked at Dillion, hoping the butterflies would stop fluttering around her stomach.

He grinned when she said that she knew who he was. He wans't suprised or anyhting, of course she knew him, everyone one knew him. Well, knew of him at least. he was voted the best jokster of Hogwarts after all. Payton had won most talkative, which he thought was far from the truth, it was true that Payton made the rounds when it came to girls and friends but he knew when to stop talking. Well, he stoped talking a lot, listening to others and whatever else pops had always told them about manners and other things like that.
He stood for a moment, shifting his weight and trint to keep himself standing still. "Before? Nothing really. Boring, yep, its a bit boing today, not anyhitng too exciting. Going to create chaos, but need peopel for chaos. Not enough people, so chaost waits. Too bad, got some good fireworks. I like forworks."

Katie frowned a little at Dillion's last statement. He was planning to set off fireworks to create chaos? Well, what else could you expect from a Hogwarts prankster, but still that could hurt someone. And more than that even, why would someone want to create chaos? It seemed like as big a waste of time as divination to Katie. She couldn't see why anyone would want to waste their time on something so absolutely ridiculous. She liked fireworks and it seemed stupid to waste them creating chaos.
"Fireworks, huh? Wouldn't that be a bit dangerous. I like fireworks, but there's a right time and a right place for those sorts of things."
Katie folded her hands together in her lap and began twisting them like mad. Her voice came out a little strong, it didn't seem like something that she would say to someone she hardly knew. That was not Katie Robbins. No way could it be Katie Robbins. Not the shy, sweet Katie Robbins she usually was. Maybe it was the weather changes or something. All Katie knew was that the voice that just came from her mouth was not hers. Sure she had thought those things, but to have actually said them? That was so different, but it felt good to say what she thought for once. Yeah, it was good. Maybe she should speak her mind more often.

His face shrunched up when she meantioned fireworks and something about dangerous, and a time and a place. Something aling the lines of logic that he tried at all costs to avoid. No fun to think of things like that, definatly no fun. It was much better to think of the excitement of it.
"They are little fireworks. Sparks! Lights! Just for fun, no one get hurt. Nope, I sure no one get hurt. Kepps things exciting. Life gets borning and who wants that, not me. Life is too short to be bored. To much to do! To much fun to have! Come on! You want some chaos, I know you do! Want me to set one off now! Oh! Yellow! Badger pride in the common room!"

Katie cocked her head to one side, thinking hard on what Dillion had said. If it didn't hurt anyone it couldn't be that bad, could it? But wasn't it against the rules? Would he not get in trouble? And then if he got in trouble would she get in trouble too? There was no way that she would let that happen. Katie had never had a detention while here at Hogwarts and she never intended to have one, either. But then again, he was showing Hufflepuff spirit, and she couldn't argue with that, could she?
"Eh . . . I don't know," she replied, "Wouldn't you get in trouble for that though? I mean there has to be something in the school rules that permits fireworks in the school." Katie really didn't want this boy that she had only just met to think that she was a prude right away. She did know how to have fun, she just preferred not to get into trouble. There was nothing wrong with that. But she still decided to take the risk. For some reason Katie just couldn't say no to Dillion.
She sighed and shook her head, "Oh I suppose! What's the harm in boosting Hufflepuff spirit, right? I just-I just really don't like to be a part in causing trouble. I'm more of a rules girl." Katie spit that out rather quickly with a slight flush in her cheeks. Why was it that she was alright with causing trouble with Dillion around? If it had been anyone else she would have been absolutely opposed to the idea, but Dillion was different. He made it seem so harmless and she trusted him after just that very short time in knowing him.

Excited that she agreed he jumped up and down, forming a circle as he did. After nearly bumping into a near by table as well as a couch and a chair, he stopped and darted over to his messenger bag, which was lying open ont he floor. He reached a hand in and felt around fo ra moment, before leaning over and sticking his head in as well, his arm still burried up past his elbow, reaching some intresting clangs and bangs. Finally he appeared again holding up what looked like a neon yellow marble.
"No worries, wont get in trouble. All my fault, I take the blame. About itme I went to dententiona gain, haven't been in ages! Imagine that! Me behaving myself, doesn't happen often. Nope. Very rare. Won't get in trouble though. No one but us. No one care's anyway. Just for fun! Poof, gone, our secret!"

Smiling, Katie shook her head. Dillion Moore was one of the craziest people she had ever met. He was practically bouncing off the walls. And the way he talked was just so funny. He couldn’t put together a coherent sentence, but somehow it all made since. Dillion was a lot like her sister actually, a little crazy but in a funny kind of way. He was different. Yes, that was exactly how to describe it. Different.
Katie frowned at the yellow marble-like object. That was unlike any firework she had ever known. “Um, are you sure that’s a firework? It doesn’t look like the kind of fireworks I’ve ever seen. The ones my family uses are usually a good bit larger and they have a fuse.”
Grinning he tossed the marble like object into the air and caught it again before he started to dig in his pockets to try and find his want. He checked the front pocket in his bants, efore a puzzled look crossed his face, and then he reached around to check the back, which resuled in him started to spin in circles to try and see if he did. Onc he had spun around enough times to make himself dizzy he stopped and shook his head, looking as if he might fall over. The look only lasted a moment though and he grinned before reaching down and pulling his wand out of his shoe.
"Yep. Firework. New kind, wizards only. No muggles know what it is. Magic hidden thing, ministry influence probably. Muggles see marble, when really, poof! Hufflepuff pride! Lights! Fire! Action! No...Camera! Fun though, bright action. Muggls don't know what their missing! Ready...Wand...need wand....wait...already have it."
He grinned again before throwing the marble into the air again, and lifiting his wand. The next thing anyone knew the ceiling was covered with yellow lights that swirld around before staerting to sprinkle down, forming different shapes as they did--but the supply seemed endless, even as the color started to come down the ceiling still glowed yellow

Katie smiled big as the fireworks went off. Usually, she would be against anything breaking the rules, but this was actually pretty cool. "That was really cool! I didn't know that wizards had different kinds of fireworks than muggles, but then again there are a lot of things that I don't know about wizards. I'm muggle born and yet as much as I have read about wizards and the magical world there is still quite bit that I don't know." Katie sighed and flopped against the arm of the couch. She felt distant from the magical world a lot of times. It was as if they had some connection that she didn't because she was a muggle born, but everytime she felt that feeling she just pushed it aside. There were lots of people at Hogwarts who were muggle borns. "So, Dillion, what is your family like?"

He stared up at the ceiling spinning around as he did so he could see everyhting. Four spins and he tried to stop but fell down insdead. he laid on his back, laughing before he looked over at Katie, grinning as always.
"Your not the only muggle born! Muggle too! Always thought wixards could fly. Can't though, brooms can. Fun though. Might play quidditch. Fun stuff! Pay can't fly...wont flying...something like that. Like to myself. Its good time. Beater maybe...hit those bludgers! Like Quidditch? Little kid told me needed players...whats her name? Little girl, never talks?"
He tried to turn around with out sitting up, stillw atching the ciling.
"Family? Big! Lots of us! 11. Payton, probably know him. Then everyone else. All muggles though, just Pay and I have magic. From birth mum maybe....well...Pop's second wife...on his um....fourth now."

As Dillion spoke of Quidditch Katie shook her head fervently, "Flying! It looks so cool, but I wouldn't ever want to. I'm kind of afraid of heights. I mean, if I'm in a building and I look out a window or something like that, I'm fine. But if I'm just hanging somewhere way above the ground it totally scares me. My sister had to practically force me onto the ski lift on our family vacation last Christmas and I kept my eyes closed tight the whole time." She cringed just at the memory of it. Katie remembered barely opening her eyes to squint down at the mountain and Jane had to place a hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming.
"You're probably talking about Nokomis," Katie said in reference to the quiet girl he had mentioned, "I've talked to her a bit in the library and in the common room. She's a really sweet girl and she loves horses just as much as I do, so we bonded quickly." Katie's eyes opened wide at his mention of eleven family members. She couldn't even imagine living with eleven people. It would be crazy, but on the up side there would always be someone around to back you up. "Yes I know Payton. But eleven people in your immediate family? That's quite a few. Do you get along well with them or do you fight a lot, if you don't mind my asking?"

The talk of flying made him jump to his feed and start runnign around the couch with his arms out like wings.
"Flying!!!"
He kept going until he ran into the bak of the coutch, flipping over it and landing on the seat in a rather awkard half upside down position.
"Not afraid of it. Nope, looks fun! Never tried really....flying class! Pay too....tampered with his broom, wont fly anymore! Not me! I fly! Want to! Need a broom though, don't have one. Bludger too. Hogsmead! One there...wait....money needed. None of that...Oh wait...family? Lots of family. 11 kids. Fight sometimes. oldest gone, youngest baby so not so much with them. Gone, no fights them, younger fight a lot...yep....Alex stole my crayon.'
