Thought it was nice to be back in Killeen and spend some time with her mum again, she had to admit that Hogwarts felt almost like home to her now. At home there was no magic, no quidditch, no friends. As scarey as the castle seemed to her at first, now felt so comfortable and wonderous. Stepping back into the Hufflepuff Common room she took a deep breath. she even missed the smell of parchment and fire smoke.
She dragged her trunk with her as she proceeded through the forming crowd, trying to locate a familiar face to see how their holiday was.

Jordan was sitting in a chair in front of the fireplace, her sketchbook on her lap, a pencil in her hand, and a frown on her face. She was in deep concentration on designing her brother's wedding. She had been appointed official decorator. And with little knowledge, Jordan accepted, foolishly.
A lot had happened over the break, alot. Including the return of her long time old best-friend Jason Roswick. Besides that big highlight, she got her hair cut, and usually curled it in the morning. She had resumed to drawing. In more darker deperessed corners of the break, Katie had gone into a coma, and caused Jordan to freak out a bit. But, everything was back to normal now and it was quite refreshing to get away from all that drama.
Just as Jordan was switching to a different shade of blue, the protrait hole swung open and in stepped a Hufflepuff. Jordan looked over to her right, and behind her chair, and smiled as she saw Nokomis. She hadn't talked to Nokomis in awhile, and it was good to see her. Jordan set her things down and stood up, with a smile.
"Hey Nokomis, how was your break?" She asked as she approached her friend with a wave.

Kiyla walked through the hallways with her bag on her shoulder. She didn't bring much home... she didn't have to. She smiled at a few familar faces but other than that walked quietly to the Hufflepuff Common Room.
Kiyla's vaction at home was sort of odd. Kiyla got to meet her biological mother for the first time in a long time. Kiyla gave a small smile as she said the password and walked into the dormitry.

Ivy returned to Hogwarts in the late afternoon of the last Sunday before lessons restarted. It didn't give her much time to resettle herself, but Fanny hadn't wanted to let her go. Ivy knew that she worried about her. It was explicable - Ivy still hadn't told her about the real nature of Hogwarts. She would have to at some point. But Ivy didn't have the strength at the moment. Fanny evidently thought that Ivy should stop attending the boarding school, even if she hadn't said it outright. But Ivy had made it clear that she intended to stay at her school. Fanny should see that that was where all her life was now. But maybe that was hard to see.
Ivy was preoccupied as she walked to the Hufflepuff Common Room, but when she arrived a fire was blazing cheerfully in the hearth. It looked very inviting. Ivy saw Nokomis and Jordan near it as she walked towards it. She set her holdall down near an armchair and sank down in it, exhausted after the long journey. She smiled at Nokomis, Jordan, and Kiyla, who she had just noticed near the entrance. "Good holiday?" she asked them.

Jordan looked up as Kiyla and Ivy joined them. She smiled brightly. Her friends that she hadn't spoken to in forever were talking to her and they were all together right then. Jordan had sort of gotten caught up in the whole Katie thing and she didn't have time for friends. She was too busy feeling sorry for herself and feeling sorry for Katie. But, now that Katie had moved to her Grandmothers, Jordan could become sociable again. And this was something she looked forward to greatly.
"My break was eventful, I suppose you could say. A lot of drama that shouldn't have been there. And a lot of soul searching I suppose. I changed some. Cut my hair. My brother's didn't like that, but, I don't care anymore. What about your guys' anything worth sharing? Or was it traditional for everyone?" She asked and answered with a smile and a happy gleam in her eyes.

Post by Charles Driscoll H7 on Feb 17, 2005 12:19:02 GMT
It was funny how the Christmas vacation had flown by so quickly. Charles could still remember how excited he had been before the vacation, about going to a new place and spending some time away from his studies. He had made a new friend over the vacation, a girl in his year but in Slytherin. Mary and Charles came from a background that was very much the same: there families were extremely well-off and thought themselves to be more superior to everyone else because they were purebloods and because of their wealth. Mary however was like Charles, she had different standards on which she judged people, and wasn't concerned about how much money they had or whether their family line was pure or not. They had hit it off right away, and Charles definitely thought of her a close friend.
Charles entered the common room hoping to meet all the other Hufflepuffs who hadn’t come to Weinig Zug and had preferred to go spend their Christmas at home with their families. Sure enough, a group of girls from his years all of whom he had talked to before were gathered together talking, and Charles walked up to them with smile and said "Hey", then listened to everyone talk about their holidays. He sat down on the floor and leaned on the foot of the armchair Ivy was sitting on. She looked like she could do with some warm soup and then a good night's sleep. "My holidays were fine, I went to Weinig Zug. Soul-searching Jordan?" he asked, "so are we to expect a brand-new Jordan to suit your new look?" he continued, thinking her new hair style did make her look a lot different. She also seemed happier than he had last seen her. Apparently all his friends had had things change for them over Christmas. He had a lot of catching up to do on everybody's news.

She hair baitly spotted Jordan and started to head towards her friend when she saw Kiyla, soon followed by Ivy come into the common room. It seemed that their whole Hufflepuff group was coming back together again. She smiled at everyone, listening to Jordan describe was seemed like a very stressful holiday. It was not long after that that Charles Driscoll, probably the only boy in all of Hogwarts she had ever really spoken too, came in and joined them. She didn't know him very well, but he always seemed so nice. Besides, he was a Hufflepuff, and that was saying something.
"My holiday wasn't nearly as exciting." She finally answered to Jordan's origional question. "It was just me and my mum most of the time. My father did visit for a day though...it was nice to see him again."
She found herself looking down at her feet for a moment as she pushed the toe of her worn sneaker into the floor. It was probably common knowledge by now that her parents were seperated. They had been seperated since she was born, and her mum found out that her father was a wizard for the first time. It took her mum a long time to accept the fact that magic existed, eleven years in fact as it wasn't until she got her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts that he mum ever let her speak to her father.
