It was mid afternoon and Jasmine was walking down the long dusty paths of the courtyard. Her hair was up in a high pony tail and a very happy look planted on her face. Spring was finally coming and she couldn’t be any happier. Jasmine liked winter but it had been getting on her nerves for a while. The cold, the layers, and snow almost everyday. She wanted it to be a clear and sunny day, not a dark and snowy day. It was like a clear day was a door for any one to be happy. Jasmine smiled even more as people walked by her. Some were in couples others were with friends. Looking at a pair of two second years she smiled and thought of Vanessa Nicholson, her best friend. When ever Jasmine was sad Vanessa was there for her, and Jasmine had her back at any moment. She was determined to be there for her friend and repay her for all the kindness she offered. Continuing to walk she glanced at her watch and wondered if there was enough time to go to the library or just stay in the common room. Looking at the moons and stars and guessed it was about 3:00 PM or 3:30 PM. biting her lower lip she just decided to head over to the library and check out a book before going to the Ravenclaw tower.
After reaching the library Jasmine looked around and headed over towards the Astronomy section. At this very moment of time Jasmine was quite interested in the stars and planets the universe had to offer. Even know it was muggle science the wizarding world used to solar systems for many things. It was used for Divination and telling what time it could be. Also the univerice was created long before earth and must be investigated. Scanning the self’s of the library her eyes came across a dark colored book called “Astronomy - A Self Teaching Guide.” Picking up the heavy book Jasmine looked at the back and the table of contents. "This could be a good book" she told herself tucking it under her arm and walking over towards Madame Prince. "I would like to check out this book please." Jasmine told her with a cheery smile and handed the older women the book. Madame Prince looked at her and smiled, "Hello there Jasmine another book on the stars I see..... Here you are have a nice day." Said Madam Prince and handed her the Astronomy book. Tucking the big book under her arms Jasmine walked out of the library and towards the Ravenclaw tower.
Walking up the many flights of stairs she finally came across the portrait. “Pygargus” she said as the portrait hole swung open reveling the light colored common room. Waling further into the room Jasmine placed her book down on the couch and crossed her legs to look into the fire. It was still early in the evening but she didn’t care. Vanessa was off some where and she didn’t have any body else to talk to. Jaquin was also off some other place. As Jasmine thought of Jaquin a dreamy smile came to her face but was slapped back into reality as the poarit hole swung open.

Sapphire sighed as she ascended the stairs to the Ravenclaw Tower. She had spent a long and fruitless time searching for Zara, and she was more than frustrated at the moment. She had looked everywhere - on the Quidditch pitch, the library, the Great Hall, about every corridor in the school - and yet she hadn't found her. It was almost as if her twin sister was hiding from her. Not that that would be the case. Zara just wouldn't be aware that her sister had been looking for her. It had been pointless anyway, in the end. The thing Sapphire had been trying to find her about had turned out not to matter. How stupid. But the whole fiasco had left Sapphire feeling weary, hot, and just a little frustrated.
Sapphire gave the full length portrait that guarded the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room her password, and stepped through it. There was a warm buzz in the room, as people returned from eating their dinner or were doing homework, but most of the inhabitants seemed to be first and second years. The only person that stood out to her as being older was Jasmine Anderson, a Ravenclaw fifth year who she had come to be acquainted with on friendly terms since they first talked at Weinig Zug. Sapphire thought back to the time she had spent there, and her tense features relaxed into a smile as she did so. Her black hair was still somewhat dishevelled, but she didn't look quite so disgruntled now.
Sapphire walked to Jasmine with a smile, sinking down on to an armchair next to her. She looked at the older girl slightly querously, recalling suddenly the look she had seen on her face when she first walked into the room. She had looked somewhat preoccupied, although Sapphire had not noticed at the time, her own thoughts being elsewhere, mostly discontented ones. "Something on your mind?" she asked lightly, taking out the bramley apple she had taken from the Ravenclaw table, as a light snack before she went down to dinner, and biting into it with a crunch, enjoying the sweet juice that it gave out.

Jasmine had been sitting in her chair deep in thought. Her mind wondered from one thing to another. Her mind was cluttered with ideas of what to sing at the talent show. There were so many songs to choose from, but one had to stand out to her and say 'sing me'. Nothing so far did that and maybe she should write her own special song to her friends. A smile formed on her face as a light blue note book was on her lap and a muggle pen in hand. Her mind wondered yet again, forgetting about the books that sounded her. Closing her hazel eyes, Jasmine took a deep breath and tried to think of what to write. One way to make a great song was to think of a title and try to have the music in your head. Some songs were deep and dark and others were happy and full of wonder. Jasmine wrote songs between both and never really thought of herself as the best, but well enough for her. Clicking and re-clicking the end of the pain she tired to think. Nothing came to mind! Feeling frustrated she just set aside her note book and buried her head in her hands. "The talent show next week Jasmine. Get yourself together women!" she said in her thoughts and heard some one appoarch her.
Picking her head up from her hands she tucked a lock of dark hair behind her ears and smiled at her good friend. "Aw just thinking of a song to write. My mind is just so cluttered these days. But that’s what happens when one just studies and never puts a book down. I have a good reason, NEWT.s were just coming up and will be harder than OWl.s." Jasmine said running her hands through her hair. Sighing she leaned back into her chair more and crossed her arms over her chest and smiled at Sapphire, "Where have you been lately. Trying to find Zara?" Jasmine asked wondering where she really had been. Sapphire was just a year below her but quite intelligent, but almost all Ravenclaws were intelligent. But only some had the back ground knowledge of the muggle world. Clearing her throat, Jasmine crossed her legs and waited for her friends comment.

Sapphire smiled brightly at Jasmine, her own thoughts drifting to work. She hadn't done very much of that this afternoon, which was rather unusual. She shifted in her chair, trying to get comfortable, gazing out of the window to the dark, wintry skies, few early evening stars showing themselves. She gave a slight sigh, choosing to think instead of the signs of spring she had seen on this morning's walk, and turned her attention back to Jasmine. "Yes, actually, I was trying to find Zara," she said. "You seem almost telepathic sometimes." She grinned at the fifth year and thought back to what Jasmine had said before she had asked where Sapphire had been that afternoon. A rather fruitless afternoon, too, Sapphire reflected, unable to let the frustrations of the agonizingly unsuccesful search go.
"You're writing a song?" she queried. "Any success?" She took another bite of her apple, before moving round over Jasmine's shoulder to have a look. There was a treble clef and a key signature of D major. A very nice key, in Sapphire's opinion. But there wasn't very much else. "Words first, I suppose," Sapphire said softly, narrowing her eyes as she tried to think. Sapphire was fairly musical, although she didn't go in for composing or song-writing in a big way. "Happy or sad song?" she asked, smiling at the fifth year next to her. She had a great deal of respect for the girl, actually. She seemed to manage to keep on top of her studies, do well, have a social life and still be happy at the end of it all. Sapphire was a fairly quiet Ravenclaw, so she was enjoying Jasmine's company this evening.

"Well it’s obvious that you were looking for Zara. You twin sister means the world to you. That’s how I feel about my friends and cousin." Jasmine said turning her attention back towards the piece of parchment on her lap. Nothing came to mind, and this was not normal for Jasmine. Normally there were so many verses and lyrics in her mind she could right a song with the snap of her fingers. But right now her mind had been cluttered with the constant reading. NEWT.s were next year, and Jasmine wanted to get a good score this year. Studying was the key to success, because you just can’t expect to know it like that. Sighing Jasmine felt like giving in the temptation. How was she going to write a whole song by next week? Good songs take time and patience to come. "Maybe I shouldn’t procraste like I did." she thought in her mind.
Noticing that Sapphire was looking at what she had down, Jasmine wished she had more. "Well I want to write a happy song. I think like a love song almost. Maybe a song about my friends." Jasmine said looking off into space and letting her mind work. It was like a train and needed fuel for almost every hour to keep running. Opening up her shoulder bag she took out two Honeyduckes special chocolate bars and handed one to Sapphire, "Here eat this. It might help me have more brain power." She said with a slight giggled and munched on the glories chocolate. It was like her taste buds had died and gone to heaven but the sweet taste of the candy. "I am going to get to many cavities soon if I continue eating candy like this." Jasmine joked with a smile and said, "Can help me Sapphire. I know everyone has a special talent and everybody can sing. But I really need to get this song done by next week."
