Saski strutted her way into the Slytherin common room, she was half glad to be back, half not. She had been having a wonderful time this summer, she had gone to Milan for six weeks, where she and her sisters went on a wild shopping spree, buying everything she could possibly want. However the call of school had returned her to England, while her sisters continued their trip, which really annoyed her. She had her first Defence class today, which proved pretty interesting, even though the professor looked barely older than she was.
She was dressed in her school robes, her hair pulled back in a ponytail which reached just passed the middle of her back, and in her hands she carried her books. Saski had kept a low profile since school started back, she had not even seen her best friend Israel Moon, or Pansy, though whether she and Pansy were speaking at the moment remained to be seen. The two had a fight last year over stupid Draco, she thought it was, she really couldn’t remember; no it had been her constant habit of blowing up objects in the dorm, the last time something almost hit Saski and she didn’t take junk like that from anyone.
She hated the dungeons, why did they have to be down here, why not the stupid Gryffindors? Her hatred for her house’s location had lessened over the years, but that said very little, when Saski hated something or someone, it was a deep, passionate hatred that seeped to the depths of her soul and never left.
Saski had made herself over during the holidays; she had gotten her ears pierced a few more times and bought herself a whole new wardrobe of clothes. She was getting bored of all the old people she talked to, and wanted to meet someone new and interesting. She threw her books on the couch in front of the house founder’s picture, the fire as going in the heath, though it was only about five in the evening and its warmth radiated into her. She walked over to the couch, her heels clinking on the floor as she walked; Saski didn’t wear flat school shoes, she wore ones with a little heel on them just to liven things up, there was no rule that said she couldn’t, just people never did. “Back to school,” she said sarcastically as she flopped down in the couch beside her books.

Brooke hated quiet. Well, if she thought about it, she hated everything. But that was beside the point. Brooke disliked being in the Library, but alas, it was the only place where she could get anything done. She had missed Hogwarts, or some of Hogwarts, but this was too drastic. She couldn't take seeing Gryffindor's and Hufflepuff's everytime she turned a corner to head somewhere.
Brooke scowled as a Hufflepuff entered the library, another one. She closed her book, put her things into her green messenger bag and left the library in a huff. She truged down the corridors and then took a sharp left turn towards the direction of the common room. She bounded down some steps, skipped a few and then landed with a solid "POMP!". She then coninued down another flight of stairs.
She never really cared for the location of the Slytherin Common Room, it was way too far down and it took lots of walking to get to it. But, as long as they were isolated from the Gryffindor's as far as possible all would be good. Brooke rounded another corner, and came to the entrance to the Slytherin Common Room. Once entered, Brooke placed her green bookbag down on the table and flipped off her shoes and pulled her hair back into a messey bun. She untucked her shirt from her skirt and took of her robes.
The Common Room wasn't completely empty. There was someone Brooke did not know. which wasn't all that surprising, considering Brooke usually kept to herself unless you are one of her close friends. Brooke thought it high time to meet new people, but she wasn't the type to make first words. She realized that she would have to sooner or later and it should be sooner rather than later. Thus, Brooke sat down beside the girl and tilted her head.
"Hey..." Brooke said, her voice not her own, it was more...timid. Was that the right word? Brooke shook her head at the thoughts and gave her full attention to the Slytherin in front of her.

Phoebe sighed as she walked down the hallways. Tripping a few first years then feeling rather guilty then laughing it off. She ran down the stairs into the Slytherin common room and sighed. She saw two girls already in there. Both whom she did not know and both were older.
"You have friends in other houses... why not make some in your own house?" Phoebe thought to herself with a smirk as she stood by the doorway watching the two.
"Just stride into the dormitries. They won't notice, anyways" Phoebe thought to herself as she watched the two girls carefully.
She looked around and saw that they were basically the only ones in the common room. She figured she might as well talk to them. They obviously were worth her time seeing as they were Slytherins. She sighed and walked over to them.
"Hello." She said quietly to the girls. She looked at the ground and looked up slowly at the girls.

Brooke sighed to herself, as no answer came from the other Slytherin. Maybe she hadn't heard her? Oh well...Brooke closed her eyes and started to sleep when someone else joined them. Brooke looked up and saw another Slytherin girl.
She had seen her around in places, hanging out with Gryffindor's and Hufflepuff's like it was nothing. But isn't it true that you did so also? A voice in her mind asked her. Brooke rollled her eyes at it and turned Phoebe. Phoebe! That's her name! Brooke thought with a smile forming on her face.
"Hello. I'm Brooke Hasenstab." She answered with a small welcoming nod, she then stood up, walked over to the table and grabbed her bag. She walked back to her place on the couch and and opened her messenger bag flap to reveal music papers. She smiled and pulled out a few blank sheets of paper. Taking her ink pen she started to write notes absentmindedly into the lines of the staff.

Saski heard someone else enter the common room, but didn’t look around right away, not until the girl sat next to her and spoke. Saski turned her head slightly in the direction of the other girl, her eyes turning more than anything else, “Hello,” she said with a grin. ‘A new face finally,’ she thought, but was interrupted by the greeting of another girl, this one younger than the last. “Hello.”
Saski sat up, spinning her legs elegantly off the couch, “I’m Saski Stark, and you?” she said casually to the last girl, the first having announced hers already. Now one had to understand, Saski was your typical Slytherin, cool, calculating and devious and she was exceptionally good at getting what she wanted. Now Saski behaviour is not entirely her fault, growing up in the Stark household demanded these traits if you wanted to survive it. She was always cool in everything she did, until you pushed her and forced her to take off your head. Something she enjoyed very much. Saski’s friends were the same, which was why they were friends; there was Israel, Dawn, Pansy, Hendrix, Grant and Melantha, and all were on varying levels of the same thread; Hendrix being the worst in Saski’s opinion; but as yet she had seen none of them.

Phoebe smiled softly at them.
"I'm Phoebe Xiong. Nice to meet you both." Phoebe said. She could tell that they were the type of Slytherins who probably would have something to say about her assiciating with Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs but then again.... so did pretty much everyone else.
"um... what is that you are writing Brooke?" Phoebe asked Brooke as she sat down as well.

Brooke smiled as Saski joined in on the conversation and then introductions were exchanged. Phoebe then asked her what she was writing. Brooke looked up and bit her bottom lip before turning back to her writing.
"Uh, music actually. I play guitar." Brooke answered, not looking up. Music was her only outlet. Her family life wasn't exactly ideal and the only thing she owned that she recieved on her own was indeed her guitar. Her parent's hadn't given it to her because she was annoying them, no, she had earned that wonderful piece of art. It was something she could call her own, not her parents'.

Phoebe smiled. She didn't play any instrument. She only sang... sometimes. She sang only when she knew know one would hear her.
"Cool. I have never played the guitar. I don't play any instruments really." She said with a smile.
"Are you good? I bet you are." She said smiling a little wider.

Brooke laughed at Phoebe's inquiry about her being good. She shook her head no.
"Not really. I mean I can play well yes, but my music doesn't fit together at all." Brooke answered with a small smile. She had learned how to play guitar from a book. A book. Not her mother, who was fabulous at it, a book. It was horrible.

Phoebe shook her said.
"Whenever someone says that they aren't taht good at something they end up being the best at it." Phoebe said with a smile.
"Who taught you?"

Brooke shook her head, trying not to be too modest. She laughed as Phoebe asked who taught her. Brooke looked away and packed up her writing.
"A book actually. My mom is really good, but never had the time for me." Brooke answered as she placed her bag back down beside her on the couch. She then turned back to Phoebe and Saski, not knowing what to say.
"What about you guys? What do you do?" She asked, a small smile on her face.

Phoebe sighed. She didnt' really do much.
"I... sing... i suppose" She said with a shrug. She didn't really know what she was good at.

Brooke's smile widened.
"Maybe, if you would like you could sing some of my lyrics...I mean I can sing but not well. So maybe, if you wanted to..." Brooke trailed off and looked back down at her nails, picking the black fingernail polish off and flicking it aside.

Phoebe and Brooke, not bad names, a little usual but nonetheless, they seemed okay…so far. The young one, Phoebe enquired after what Brooke was doing. It turned out the girl was writing music for her guitar, ‘How interesting?’ Saski thought disinterested. They two went bantering on about the guitar, and according to Brooke she was that great at it, but Saski said nothing.
When Brooke mentioned that her mother never had the time for her Saski started, “You poor thing,” she said coolly. Why would it bother anyone when their parents were too busy to interfere in what they were doing was beyond Saski. She loved that her parents were too busy, they gave her the cash and she spent it. As long as she killed at Quidditch; she usually played beater, and a vicious one she was at that, but this year she was sitting it out, to spite her parents…and it was working, she had received four letter from them about it already.
“I shop.” Saski had not talents such as playing an instrument, she could sing but she never did. Her best trait was her sense of style and fashion, she would probably end up in that field eventually, a critic more than likely; telling people what to wear and what not to. “You sing? You any good,” Saski said sharply. She couldn’t help herself it was just her way when she first met people, she was actually a lot nicer to her friends.

Phoebe shrugged. She didn't know if she was good at singing or not.. not that it matter much. "I don't know." She said.
"Shopping is good. You seem like one who has a good sense in fashion." Phoebe said to the girl Saski. She didn't smile. She fgured that Saski didn't really like her much anyways so why try to make her like her. If she liked her she liked her; of she didn't she didn't.
"You play quidditch right?" Phoebe asked Saski.

Saski raised her eyebrows and shrugged off Phoebe’s comment of not knowing whether she was good or not. Saski smirked at Phoebe’s compliment; she did not smile around people she hardly knew. “Thank you. I do have a good sense of fashion.” Saski got up and removed her robes, to the more comfortable skirt and shirt underneath, and walked over to Salazar Slytherin’s picture and played with the frame absentmindedly.
Saski turned around when Phoebe mentioned quidditch, “Yes I do. I a beater; though I am sitting things out this year. Do you any of you play?” If there was one thing Saski was interested in other than shopping was quidditch.

Phoebe sighed. She didn't think this conversation would go anywhere but she decided she could try anyway.
"I don't play quidditch but I like it. My brother used to play all the time. Why don't you play anymore? If I'm correct I think you would be a great beater." Phoebe said.

Saski smirked, “You’d be right. I’m an excellent beater.” She stood backing the fireplace, her shoulders resting against it as she played with her fingers. “I do play, just not this year. I am teaching my parents a lesson you could say. They don’t want me playing quidditch you see, but the acclaim they get from their friends when I pummel someone boosts their ego. I don’t play; they don’t get praise, simple as that. They’ve been getting on my nerves, so I decided not to play. Let them get their praise somewhere else.”

"I should do that sometime... so far.. is it working?" Phoebe asked Saski curiously.

Saski smirked, “If it’s working? It most definitely is. I have gotten four letters of complaint from them, ordering me to get back on the quidditch pitch, to which I replied simply…no.” Saski began to walk around the room; she was still playing with her fingers, “Parents what can you do about them? And you most definitely should try it Phoebe, it may prove very useful to you,” she said with a devilish grin on her face.
