Mary left class feeling happy. She made her way to the library in search of a book to read. She was not in the mood for anything fiction, she wanted something more referencey. Looking through the shelves she found a book on the persecution of wizard kind throughout history. Mary signed the book out and left for the common room.
Mary walked down the stairs toward the Slytherin corridor. âSalazarâ she said as she approached the portrait. The door swung open for her and she walked up to the third year girlâs dorm. Mary placed her bag on her bed and grabbed both the library book and her King Arthur book. She then left the room and re-entered the common room.
Mary sat in a chair near the fire and curled her legs under her. When she was comfortable Mary picked up the history book and began to read.

*Pyro sat in his bed in the dorm, glaring down at a textbook. He knew he should be doing homework, but he didnt feel like it. His body was aching with boredom, and homework, wasnt gonna cure that ache...He left the dorm and headed for the common room, he notice mary by the fire.
He snuck over there and got behind her...he read over her shoulder for a second, than spoke right into her ear*
"whatja reading?"

Mary was very into her book and quite comfortable in her chair. She then felt a prickle on the back of her neck like someone was standing behind her. Ignoring them Mary delved further into her book when suddenly some spoke directly into her ear. Despite having known someone was there Mary was still slightly started by the sudden intrusion. She made no sign of her discomfort though and simply told them the name of the book without even looking at who it was. âThe Witchâs Misery: A Study of the Persecution of Wizard Kind Through The Ages.â She told them as she continued to read.
âYou wouldnât be interested; there are no pictures.â She continued even though she hadnât the slightest idea who it was. If they were rude enough to speak to her without any warning they were obviously ill breed. Not to mention it was obviously not somebody she would need to pay respect to seeing as nobody that far above her would bother caring what she was reading.

*Pyro grined to himself*
"yea...that was a disapointment, I do adore pictures greatly, I got bored of it and stoped reading it"
*He sighed and walked around and took a seat and looked into the fire*
"what i dont understand is, we are more powerful than muggles, so why are we the ones hiding from them?"

As the person persisted to speak to her Mary looked up to see who had interrupted her solace. She would have laughed when said person commented on her insult about the lack of pictures. When she looked up though she saw it was Pyro and knew it would only encourage him further. She bit down the laughter, forced a straight face and said, âLike I said, you wouldnât be interested.â She then closed her book and put it down beside her where she could easily reach it.
âWe are the ones hiding because they outnumber us 10 to one if not more. They breed like⌠animals.â Mary honestly had not problem with muggles or muggleborns but she defiantly did not like having to hide her magic.
((I know it doesnât seem finished but I really have to go â sorry))

((alright, talk to ya later))
*Pyro snorted, not looking away from the flames*
"Outnumber us" He said in a nasty tone, "Like it matters, What do they have that can hurt us? one of those......um...Fire....arms? one flick of a wand and a muggle is completly helpless"
*He spun around and looked at her, than down at the book*
"And besides, I believe I made great progress in that book, Page 5, I believe, than it got to boring..."
*He grinned*

Mary rolled her eyes when Pyro began talking about taking away their firearms to leave muggles helpless. âHas he not thought this through? Even I have and I donât mind mugglesâ she thought. âDonât you think they will fight back? Think of the ancient Athenian slaves, they fought back all the time, Athens declared war on them once a year I think so as to put down any revolt. They will try and break free again and again and again and again and it would be even more trouble to keep them under control then it is to hide ourselves. The only way to solve that problem then would be to follow the Roman Emperor Sulla and kill them all. Which we have the ability to do at full strength admittedly. But only about a quarter, if that, of the Wizarding population would agree to such tactics. They would not be numerous or strong enough to commit such genocide even without other wizards battling against them. And we know all Griffie kind at least would fight against them.â Mary stated plainly looking for signs of comprehension on Pyroâs face.
âYou read five whole pages! Wow congratulations; so you are somewhat literate after all. And hey if you work real hard maybe one day you will be capable of reading the next five. Donât get ahead of yourself though, just do the best you can.â Mary then said with a sarcastic smile planted on her face when he mentioned having mead great progress in the book by having read five pages.

*He yawned slightly*
Yes i was thinking along the lines of killing them instead of inslaving them..and yes, the other wizards could present a problem..
*He seemed to become lost in though and the next sentance was spoken in a mutter, as if he was storing it in some deep part of his mind for later use*
maybe there is some way to make them believe removing muggles is the best thing......hmm
*He cast her a narrow eyed sideways glance*
You know, despite popular believe, I do enjoy reading.
*He looked at her*
Just not textbooks or factional books......

Mary laughed as Pyro began muttering about killing them being the best idea and trying to convince the bloody Griffies that getting rid of their muggle parents was a good idea. She readjusted in the seat so was lying sideways in the chair looking at Pyro. She moved her book up onto her stomach and held it to herself. She would love to see him try. Holding a meeting in the Great Hall, getting all houses together, beginning, and being torn to sheds, literally. Mary couldnât help but laugh.
She laughed even hared as he proclaimed his love of all things literature. âYou like to read but nothing real?â she recapped in the most condescending way possible. âSo you basically like beach reading? The books that are entertaining but of no real use. Sounds⌠helpful.â Mary said before breaking out into giggles again; this time thinking of Pyro with glasses on reading a textbook in the library.

*He looked at her*
I never said that, I said factional books, the kind that are just a list of dates and events. Those bore the crap out of me
*He pulled a crumpled piece of parchment out of his pocket and absently tossed it into the fire and watched it burn for a little bit*

Jersey smiled jubilently as she made her way out of her last class for the day, transfiguration. Looking around at the crowded corridors, Jersey continued her way to the Slytherian common room. Usually, Jersey would be pushing and yelling at everyone who crossed her path, but today, she was in a very good mood for some reason.
As Jersey made her way down the steps towards the common room, Jersey stepped up, said "Salazar." in a very snobby manner, and continued her way to the common room. As soon as she entered, Jersey immediately smelled fire burning. Looking around the common room, she noticed it had been pretty occupied, not too many people, though. She figured that most kids were just getting out of class and that a lot of them were roaming the halls and conversing with friends.
Jersey looked around to see if anyone she had been friends with had been there, and to her surprise she saw her good friend Mary sitting by the fire. Hoping that she didn't mind, Jersey strolled over to the fire with a huge smile on her face. Approaching Mary, she noticed another boy sitting with her, who Jersey knew as a 3rd year, same year as Mary. Smiling at them, Jersey spoke, "Hey there." she said pulling up a chair. "Hope you guys don't mind if I join you." she said as she pulled the chair close.
Once settled, Jersey turned towards the boy and smiled, "Hi, my name is Jersey." she said brightly as she put her hand out for a handshake.

Mary rolled her eyes; Pyro had obviously not read many factual books. They are not just lists the majority of the time. Mary watched as he tossed a piece of parchment into the fire. She picked up her book again and was about to read when Jersey walked in. Jersey asked if they minded her joining them as she sat down as well. âOf course not Jers you are always welcome.â Jersey introduced herself to Pyro who seemed enthralled with the fire.
âThatâs Pyro.â Mary said for him. âAptly named it seemsâ she commented on his apparent love of the fire. âYou seem happy. What happened? Make a new record of kids scared in a single hallway?â Mary joked grinning at her friend.

Jersey gave a firm handshake as she greeted the 3rd year, in the midst of shaking his hand, Mary told her of his name Pyro. Letting go of his hand, Jersey sat back and smiled. "Quite an interesting name you got there." she said as Mary made a comment of his fascination for fire.
Jersey crossed her left leg over her right and placed her clasped hands on top of her legs, trying to get comfortable. Jersey felt the warmth of the fire quite well, 'how nice it is to be inside on such a cold day.' she thought as she looked into the fire realizing how lucky everyone was for being able to be in such a nice place of comfort. Mary spoke up asking why such a happy face, and then cracked a joke asking if she had set a record for scaring kids in the hallway. Chuckling, Jersey looked towards Mary and smiled warmly. "Well Mar, everyone has their good days, and I just happen to have more bad than good, but it just so happens that good days have been happening quite often, and it is a weird change, to go from wanting to beat the little kids who walked past, to now wanting to smile and get to know them." Jersey smiled and shrugged at her change, but then wondered if things would still be the same the following week. Jersey laughed at the thought, and turned to the both of them. "Well I hope I wasn't interuppting anything worth chatting about, because then I would feel rather bad." Jersey said giving Pyro a sly smile, and Mary a wink.

Kris yawned and strolled towards the hallways towards the dungeons to go to the Slytherin common rooms. He was rather freezing, as he has just spent 4 hours outside, trying to grasp some stuff from Transfiguration â he had skipped a couple or more lessons, so he had had her relative in Ravenclaw help him. Not that he would ever openly admit it â that had also been the reason, why he had dragged her off into a clearing in the Forbidden Forest. Besides the fact they were rather closely related was only known to one person who her 'cousine' had told to. Some Slytherin and a third year. Mary was her name, if Kris recalled correctly, even though he didn't have any face to put with the name.
Kris sneered at two first year Hufflepuffs, walking through their conversation in the middle. The first or second years â Kris didnât know nor cared - glared at his back, but didnât utter a word. Kris slipped into the dark hallways in the dungeon and entered the Slytherin common room. He was rather frozen, so he figured that he could warm up in front of the fire-place and maybe even talk a bit with the 3 people positioned there. Two of them â a boy and a girl seemed about two years younger. While the second girl was a sixth years. Jersey - Kris had met her at the feast in the castle around Christmas time.
Kris had heard the boyâs last words, so he calmly stepped behind the armchair, where the younger girl sat and leaned his arms on itâs headrest: âThen Iâll take it as if I arenât interrupting anything important either. It's good to see you again, Jersey.â
Kris took in the trios appearance calmly and added as an after-thought to the younger students: âIâm Kris.â
*Pyro looked up at the older boy who had just joined them..'well it seems this place is starting to fill up' he thought. he really didnt like being in, or next to large groups. He looked at the boy*
"Sure sure, Come join us, the more the merrier. Oh, Im pyro."

âPyro,â Kris repeated the boys name with a nod, as a sign he took in the knowledge and that he wonât forget it.
âI know Jersey, so I guess that leaves you,â Kris looked down on the blond head of the girl, who was sitting in the armchair, he was leaning on, âCare to make an introduction?â
Jersey and Pyro began chatting as Mary turned back to her book. So caught was Maryâs attention that she did not even notice what either of them were saying; she was however keenly aware of the entrance of Kris. He played that he didnât know her though so she simply ignored him until he final signalled that she was the only one who had yet to introduce herself. Mary stood up in a huff, threw her book on the chair, and made like she was going down the stairs to her dorm.
As soon as she was behind him though she jumped on his back. âKrissy Bearâ she said with a pout âYou donât love me anymore?â she whined resting her head on his shoulder not caring that her strawberry blond hair was falling in his face. âFine then I guess I have something to tell everybodyâŚâ she said in a singsong voice even though she would never betray his secrets. âWait actually I do.â Mary said quickly jumping off Krisâ back and running down to her room; only to return moments later with Pyroâs confiscated bag. She then removed the wand and Gryffindor scarf and threw the rest at him. âWhat on earth are these doing in your bag?â she asked him before picking up her book and taking her seat back, scarf and wand in hand.

*Pyro watched mary in confusion as she jumped all over kris...he was about to ignore her and look back at the fire when mary ran off towards her dorm..'where is she going?' he thought...than she came back with something very familiar to him. something he had forgotten about..
His eyes widened as he looked at his bag in her hands*
"oh yea! you took that in the lounge and left!"
*He watched her pull out the wand and scarve and his eyes only widen larger..He began to sweat slightly*
"well, um, you see....hey! what are you doing going through my bag! your just suppose to do my homework!"
