Brooke Hasenstab threw the papers at her wall in utter frustration. Her words were mingled, her notes were clashed, and her fingers to tired to play anymore. She sighed and set her guitar down roughly before walking over and picking up the scattered music sheets.
She got on her hands and knees and started to pile the papers in a semi-neat pile. The edges were asewed in odd designs and shapes all from her wear and tear process a few months ago. Her mind hadn't been clear enough then for a good enough song to be written, it was now but she still had no way to write a song. After she finished with the papers she placed them in the drawer that was in her table beside her four poster and sat down on the soft mattress.
Brooke's music took time to write clearly, took time to sing with the right melody and took time to even strum correctly. She wasn't normally a patient girl, coming from a family where she recieved everything she wanted within a milli-second, but her song writing took patience, and that was indeed something she did not possess.
She flung her body backwards onto the bed and sighed heavily. Her eyes closed gingerly and she couldn't hear anything but the steady beat of her heart, and the ragged sounds from her lungs. The effects of living with smokers, she thought. Her eyes popped open as she heard the sounds of approaching footsteps.

Phoebe walked towards the girls dormitries with a hum. She figured no one would be there to hear her so why not? She walked in and abrutly stoped humming. She looked around the dormitry and saw it was a mess. She looked over and saw Brooke laying on the bed but now she was sitting straight up.
"Hello... you okay?" She said as she walked around and tried to starighten it up a little more. She smiled at the girl. She knew her and they had become friends. It was Phoebe's first friend from Slytherin.

Brooke sighed in relief as Phoebe entered the dorm. She immeditaly started to pick up Brooke's mess. Brooke got down and helped her.
"Ye-yeah. I'm fine. Just frustrated is all." Brooke answered with a sweet smile. Phoebe was her friend, probably her closest friend so far. THey were both in Slytherin and they both had friends in Gryffindor.

Phoebe smiled. She like Brooke, they were both Slytherins nonetheless but they both had friends in other houses.
"Anything I can help with?"Phoebe asked Brooke.

Brooke looked at Phoebe and smiled.
"Well, you did sa-say you sing right?" She asked, her eyes glittering with delight. If Phoebe would agree, she would like her to sing one of her songs, but that was only if Phoebe agreed to. Brooke thought that maybe Phoebe was like herself in that way, not wanting to let anyone hear you playing or singing.

Phoebe bit her lip thinking. She looked around the dormity. They were the only ones there. Phoebe had never sang in fron tof anyone before... except Tim but... well he's gone. She figured that she might as well.
"Sure. No one's here but me and you so I see no reason of why I shouldn't," Phoebe smiled warmly yet nervously at Brooke.

Brooke smiled happily as Phoebe agreed to sing. Brooke pulled out the sheets of music she had stashed in her drawer and handed them to Phoebe. She then took up her guitar, sat down, placed the guitar in her lap, grabbed her pick, and began to strum. "In any octave. It's in the key of c." Brooke said as she placed her fingers on the strings and strummed her first cord. She then looked up at Phoebe and gave an encouraging smile. "Ready?" She asked, her fingers aching to play. (I will PM some lyrics to you...that way you can sing it )

Phoebe smiled shyly as Brooke handed her the music. She looked at Brooke and waited her to get ready. She sighed and nodded when Brooke asked her if she was ready.
She took a deep breathe as Brooke began playing the music and began to sing the song.
"And as the night falls, And the sun disappears, The fallen fairy, Looks beyond her years.
Her dreams are vanished, Her light; gone out. Her life was over, No more pain or doubt.
And as this fallen fairy soars, She tries to stay before the Lord, But her wings give in, her heart is faulted."
