Locked In

Dawn was walking through the halls as an owl swooped down beside her. Landing on her shoulder she unraveled the letter. It was stamped with Dumbledore's stamp as she quickly opened it. Reading it quickly, Dawn took out her wand. 'Damn, not again.' Dawn thought as she ran crossed the marble floor into the Great Hall. If the school was under attack, Dawn had to do her job as a Prefect to make sure everyone in her house was safe. Dawn saw a several students from every house seated, eating, and talking. "Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw Get to your common rooms now. Slytherins, Get up and get moving as well. Go straight to the Common Room!" Dawn ordered. Normally someone from another house would be first scared at Dawn ordering them around. But they sensed that this was important. Quickly gathering up their books, they began on their way. "Take out your wands, just in case!" Dawn said warning as a fifth year Raven shot her a scared look as he ran up the stairs. Turning Dawn watched slightly as Some Slytherins went towards the common room.

Running down the hall Dawn ran towards the courtyard gate. Pushing open the Iron Gate she held the door open. "EVERYONE LISTEN UP! Get to your House Common Room immediately! Also, keep your wands at the ready! Keep in groups! Get going now or I will deduct points from your house!" Dawn ordered as several dozens of students darted out quietly from the courtyard. Running after them, Dawn began to go to ever floor. She was accompanied by Catalina Calves and Sethia Wagner. Prefects from the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw houses. Splitting up floors, they all went to warn every student.

Nearly five minutes has passed since Dawn received the Owl, and she didn't hear one spell cased. Deciding to go back to her common room, she began down the stairs. Her cloak behind her flew as she ran down the stairs. Nearly slipping as she reached the marble flooring she darted towards the dungeon stair well. Running down four more flights Dawn turned right and right again. "SALAZAR!" Dawn ordered as the wall slid to the left and let her in.

Walking into the vast room, all the students from the house were in the main room. Rumors begin to fly about what is happening to the school, that Harry Potter died, that Dumbledore died, that McGonagall is going to be our new Headmaster. None of this was to Dawn's knowledge but as a Prefect, she needed to hold order. "Mary Evans, Check everyone from your year. Tell me if they are all here. Mark, your year, as well as Jessie, Connor, and Yoauka." Dawn paused as the uproar kept going. "SHUT THE HELL UP!" Dawn shouted as she moved through the crowed over to the fire so everyone could see her. "I know, you all have heard many stories about what are happening- but I do not know anything yet. I would be the first Slytherin student to get details. So, do not believe what you are hearing. Also, I know that you are all not scared. Unlike all the other houses some of us are faced with this every day at home." Everyone knew Dawn was talking about Voldemort and Death eaters in their family. "But, there is no reason for anyone to go out of this Common Room." Dawn pointed her wand at the porthole. "Now, Only I will be able to open it. If there is a problem- Come see me. Go to your dorms, Stay down here. I do not care what you do. Just don't stand around like buffoons." Dawn ordered as she walked over to an empty leather back chair and sat down.

[Trinity Bleu]

Trinity was sitting in the courtyard reading a book when the commotion started. Dawn McGrogan, a slytherin prefect, had stormed up to them and yelled for them to get to the common room. Trinity shrugged slightly and shut her book, she wondered what was going on. As she stood she realized it must be serious because Dawn was yelling for them to get their wands out. Trinity reached into her robe pocket and pulled her wand out, propping it in front of her body ready to use it if necessary.

Trinity walked through the halls swiftly, watching other houses scattering frightened to their common rooms. She was begining to get very worried, her only fear was the unknown. She entered the hall where the common room was located to see a small first year slytherin curled up and crying. She looked down at the girl, "Are you ok?" she asked skeptically, "Come on, we need to get to the common room." She reached down and helped the girl up giving her a reassuring smile.They reached the portrait hole and Trinity stated, "Salazar," before the portrait hole opened.

She entered the now chaotic room and directed the young girl to a chair. The girl sat and Trinity stood waiting for Dawn to show up with some news on what was happening. Just a moment later, Dawn entered and begin to take control.

Karlie sat, curled up in the best chair in the common room reading a book. She looked up, annoyed, as several panic stricken first years came rushing in interrupting her reading session. "What's wron...." but she didn't even finish her sentence when even more people pushed through the wall. By the looks of it the entire house was trying to push into the common room at the same time. Karlie closed her book and set it on the table before standing. She had no idea what was going on, but by the looks of it, everyone had been ordered to the common room.

Karlie saw Trinity enter the room quickly followed by a scared looking first year and immediately rushed over to see if she knew anything. She had barely reached her however, when Dawn rushed in and started giving orders. When Dawn was done, Karlie turned to Trinity. "Do you have any idea what's going on? I was in here when everyone started rushing in..." Karlie waited impatiently for her answer.

Perseus was on his way back to the Slytherin common room to get some spell books for the next session of DADA when he heard a clamant voice mandate that everyone had to head back to their common rooms. He whipped his head around to see hundreds of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students sprinting up the marble staircase while Hufflepuffs were heading down to the kitchens and the Slytherins were all heading his way. Without contemplating on the matter, Perseus could tell that something was going on. It was unambiguous that this had something to do with Potter, Weasley, and Granger. Anything like this always did in the six interminable years Perseus had been here. As the other Slytherins closed in around him, Perseus decided not to hang around and sprinted towards the clandestine common room entrance. "Salazar," he muttered as the wall slid open on its own accord. Before long, other extremely anxious Slytherins entered the common room. They were all conversing loqaciously, wildly speculating on what had happened. The cacaphony of raucous talking was nearly unbearable. Perseus heard rumors that ranged from Dumbledore being dead to McGonagall becoming the new Headmaster.

Perseus sat down and waited for some figure of authority to appear and soon enought, Dawn McGrogan, one of the four Slytherin prefects entered. She told everyone to be quiet and listen to what she had to say. Perseus listened intently and heard Dawn telling everyone to go to their dormitories. Perhaps someone was attempting to enter the castle or perhaps it had something to do with the Death Eaters. Without further hesitation, Perseus strode up a staircase to the 6th year Boy's Dormitory and began adding several locks to the doors with a wave of his wand then he reinforced the hinges and added a shielding charm and anti-unlocking charm- a useful discovery of his. His fellow house-mates finished the job and quickly got to bed. Perseus wanted to inquire Dawn about what was happening, but overheard two younger Slytherins talking. He strode over and said quietly, "I think that someone is attempting to break into the castle..... Or they are already in the castle."

Perseus turned to Dawn and inquired quickly, "Did anything unusual happen after I left the DADA for books before going to the vampire session?"

Calista didn't feel like class today. She had decided to skip classes and go do some painting out in the courtyard. The day dragged on and Calista continued to paint. She painted just about anything she could see at the moment. She painted the castle building, the sky, a meadow of flowers, etc. So engrossed was she that she almost did not hear the order to get back to the common rooms. She sighed, what could be happening now? She quickly packed away her paint tools and walked back to the castle. Her hands were to full for her to pull out her wand, so instead she opted to follow a group of students who had their wands out. If anything serious was going and they got attack. These kids would at least slow whatever it was down and Calista would than have her stuff put down and ready to fight herself.

Calista didn't trust this small group of kids to be able to protect her. They were just a tool to stall the attacker. Finally she came to a point where she had to leave the group. It was only a short walk to the common room after that. She stood by the familiar armor. "Salazar." She said. The armor moved aside to reveal the door that Calista stepped through.

A few Students had already made it to the common room. They were all speaking to each other in hushed tones. All just a whole bunch of rumors. Calista never did like to fall into that kind of crowd. She preferred to have the correct information so she decided to wait for someone more informed to come in. Calista moved into the corner of the room and put down her stuff. Just as she did, Dawn McGrogan, the Slytherin prefect, stepped into the common room.

Dawn said a few words before sitting down in a chair herself. Calista looked around at all the students standing dumbly around and a great idea came to her. Reaching into her pack she pulled out a piece of charcoal and some paper and began to draw the common and its occupants.
