Alyson stood in the street with her hands crossed over her chest. She was red in the face from screaming. The person in front of her was pleading. Trying to convince her. " No no no." She repeated for the tenth thousand time. " I will not talk to them." She shouted a her butler. " Ms. Wekki. Please listen to me. your father is sick. He wants to apolize." He pleaded that she listen to him.
" Forget it. I'm moving out. I'm not listening to them." She said. She ran down the street. Her honey-blonde hair in a blue pony tail blew in the wind behind her.
She sat down in a park. Her head in her hands. She shook in a anoyed way.

Kadan woke to hear a car leaving the driveway. He glanced at the clock and realized his father must have been leaving for work. Rolling out of bed, he stubbed his toe on the cauldron he had left there the previous night while packing for his return to Hogwarts. He winced in pain, but it wasn't enough to ruin his day. He knew he would soon be using that cauldron at Hogwarts, and the thought of that made him smile. Potions was one of his favorite subjects, despite the fact that Snape taught it. Since Kadan was decent at potions though, Snape didn't seem to treat his as horribly as he was known to treat most students who weren't in Slytherin.
Looking around for something to wear, Kadan grabbed -a pair of jeans and a navy-blue collared shirt. Not wanting to mess with his hair, which needed cut, he grabbed his tan ball cap and headed to the kitchen. Rummaging through the cupboards, he was unsuccessful at finding anything to eat. Then, he noticed a note lying on the table.
Kadan, You will have to go buy some groceries today because we are all out. Here is a twenty. See you when I get home from work. Love, Dad
Psh... twenty bucks. That will buy me a whole lot, Kadan thought sarcastically. He and his dad didn't have the best father-son relationship. But they were all each other had. Kadan's mother died when he was little, and his older sister moved out when she became old enough to live on her own. His father spent most of his time at a factory where he worked a muggle job. Kadan was used to being alone at his house. The only company he had was his black kitten, Tait.
Kadan grabbed the money and locked the door as he left. It was such a beautiful day, so he decided to walk instead of taking the bus. This would also allow him to go through the park which he loved to walk through on occasion. He whistled merrily as he was on his way.
When he entered the park, he saw lots of small children with their parents. Most were playing muggle games like frisbee, and catch. Just then, he spotted a familiar girl sitting on a bench looking rather upset. He recognized her as a fellow Ravenclaw who was in his year. He approached her, wondering why she appeared so distraught. "Hey," he said casually. "Alyson? Right? Recognize me from Hogwarts? I think we had a few classes together." He waited to see if she would respond.

Alyson looked up at the person who approahed her. " Yeah its Alyson. And your... Kadan the potions genuis? Right?" She asked. She knew he was in Ravenclaw and her year. Hogwarts. She could not what for school to start agian. Fixing her hair as she spoke she was putting it up in a better ponytail. " So what are you doinng here?" She asked. Seeing a familier face toke her mind of her parents. At that though her her hands balled in to fists. Her fanly ring shone in the sun. The raven was showing the most. Alyson moved it away. She didn't want the ministery to know she was the Wekki family holder.
She moved over on the bench so Kadan had some room to sit. As she moved she looked around the park. Kids with their moms and dads. She rolloed her eyes in didgust. " Idiots." She mummered. Her eyes fogged over again. She turned to Kadan. " have you seen any one at school who looked like me?" She asked with intrest. She was still looking for Taylor. Not much help her parents were. Her parents were traitors. She hated them for it.

Kadan smirked at Alyson's comment about being a potions genius. He knew he was good at potions, but he wasn't used to people complimenting him about it. Normally most of the people in his class resented him because of his intelligence. "Yeah," he chuckled, "that's me." He couldn't help but notice that Alyson seemed a little on edge. "I was just on my way through the park," explained Kadan. "My dad sent me to pick up some groceries." He fumbled in his pocket to make sure he still had the money his father had left for him. He noticed Alyson make room for him on the bench, but he remained standing. "I can't say that I have seen anybody else that looks like you at Hogwarts," he added. "If you want, you can join me on my way to the grocery store. You seem like something in angering you. I can always lend a listening ear," he finished, wondering if Alyson would take him up on the offer.

He replied yes he was the genuis. She smiled at the anwser about seeing some one else like her at school. Kadan invited her to go to the grocery store and she agreed. As they walked through the park he suggested that she open up to him. She hestated. She only told one person. Fiona. And Fiona barely knew what it felt like. She also had her own problems. She finally gave in. " Well what I am about to tell you you have toswear you won't tell anyone." She said as she relied around to face him.
Her eyes were dead serius. And looking in to his with a look of thougt. She did not want many people to know of her families holder and that she made was to make the descion for the family. The whole family.

Kadan sensed the seriousness in Alyson's voice. "Okay," he said, confused. "I promise that I won't tell anybody. But, you know you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I was just trying to help a fellow Ravenclaw who seemed upset." He had no clue what Alyson could possibly tell him that she would make him swear to secrecy, but he was a little curious. "Here," he said as he pulled her into a deserted alleyway. "Nobody will be able to overhear us back here."

" No I need to tell some else beside Fiona." She said as they ducked into an alleyway. " Well it all started about two weeks ago. Fiona and I were goinng shopping. Then we decided to go to an old family place. Were we discovered I was hte Wekki family stright desendent and every descion I make enfluences my whole family. But I also found out I have a sister. A twin sister. That I never met. My parents gave her away. Thats why I hate my parents." she said really fast.
(( Sorry so short))

Kadan wrinkled his face in confusion. "Wait... wait, slow down," he commanded. "Explain this whole family stright decendant thing," he said with a puzzled look. "And as far as the twin sister thing goes," he added, "I'm sorry to hear that." He grabbed Alyson's hand and could feel that she was shaking. "Look, it will all be okay. Just calm down and I may be able to help you." Kadan didn't really know what to do, but he could tell Alyson was very angry and emotional. He allowed for a period of silence and then added, "Okay, now explain this one more time, but a bit slower so that I may understand you." He looked into Alyson's eyes trying to comfort her.

He graded her hands before would be able to throw things. She already snapped her dads broom in two and smashed her mothers good china. He apolized about her twin. " Well she's still alive. And its not your fault my parents gave her up." Her voice was filled with anger as she looking into his eyes. He also asked about the straight desedent thing. " Well. You see when my grandfather died he was suppose to pass every family responsiblity to my father. But my father and my grandfather aren- weren't on the best terms. So he died last year and I found out I'm the straight desendent. " She felt much more relaxed and it was easy to talk to him.
" Hey. Thanks. You made me feel calm. Not at all upset." She said in shock and thankfullness. She patted him on the shoulder and relized he still was holding her around the rist. She pulled away insecurely. Her blonde shook and she pulled it out of the pny tail and all of her honey blonde hair fell on her shoulders. " There. Much better." She said with a smile.

"I see," said Kadan as Alyson explained her duties as straight descendant. Just then Alyson pulled her hand away from his. "Oh, so-sorry," he stammered. "I was just... never mind." He thought she may have been uncomfortable with him grabbing her hands. "Anyways," he added, trying to break the awkward silence. "I guess being straight descendant doesn't sound too bad. I mean it doesn't sound that horrible. However, I do see your reasoning for being upset about the twin thing. That is sort of a big deal," he stated. "But if it makes you feel better, I can help you look for her." He really had no clue what he was getting himself into, but he thought it would be kind to offer some assistance. Kadan put his hands in his pockets and fumbled with the contents while waiting for Alyson to respond.

Her eyes sparkled as she continued to smile. " Thank you." She said and bushed. She could not remember when she felt so free. There were no worries and Alyson smiled wider to reveal her white teeth that seemed like they were sparkling in the sunlight. She was glad some one was going to help her find her sister. It felt... good to know she didn’t have to find her by herself. " Well we might as well go and get the things on the shopping list." Alyson said a little uncomfortable. She walked out of the alleyway and waited for Kadan.
As they walked through the park Alyson thought about school. Her friends would be there. And she would not have to be home. No parents. No driver to take her every where. And no Drake coming over every day to check on her. She giggled at that. It was funny when it was early in the morning. All she had to pick up the phone and make the call. He would be there in seconds. Five minutes at the latest. She and Drake have been friends for years. Ever since she was eight. But things have been awkward ever since he asked her out and she turned him down. She really wanted some one her parents would not like. Some where in her brain she remember she was in the park with Kadan and they haven't said a word since the alley. " So what have you been up to?" She asked. She sucked at making small talk. She blushed again. Taken goodness it was sunny and he could not see it.

"It's no problem," replied Kadan after Alyson thanked him for his offer to help find her twin. He followed as she left the alleyway. "I really havn't been up to much," he admitted. "My dad works almost everyday, and I'm usually at home by myself. It's pretty boring." It sounds like your life is a lot more interesting than mine, he thought to himself. They continued walking into a busier part of town. "You know," he said as he stopped walking. "My dad gave me a twenty to buy groceries, but I have a better idea," he said with a grin. "I know of a small cafe located close to here. You hugry for a bite to eat?" he asked.

'' Sounds great. But I've got a better idea. You go and get groceries and drop them of at home and meet me here in thirty minuets and go on a picinic. Its to nice outside to waste it inside." Alyson suggested. She didn't want him to get in trouble because of her. " So..?" She asked.
(( Again its short. But I got company."))

Kadan laughed. "Well if you insist," he said. "So we meet in thirty minutes, back in the park where I first found you," he instructed. "See you later," he waved and continued farther into town.
He looked around and saw a nearby deli. That should do, he thought. He walked up to the small cobblestone building and opened the door. A small bell rang as he walked in. "Welcome," came an elderly voice from behind the meat counter. Kadan looked and saw a small little lady who smiled politely back at him.
"Hi," Kadan, smiled back. "Ummm," he glanced at the many different assortments of meats and cheeses. "I'll take those," he said, pointing at a couple of already made sandwiches that looked quite appetizing. The little lady packed up his purchase, and he paid her at the counter. "Thanks," Kadan said as he left the store. "Anytime deary," replied the woman. Kadan thought, she was an amiable lady.
Carrying his purchase, Kadan walked back toward the park. He found the bench where he first saw Alyson and waited for her to return. He sat and enjoyed the sun overhead.

Alyson walked into the kitchen on her manor. The first thing she did was check the fridge. The out come was a couple of sandwiches, soda and a chocolate pie. She opened the pantry to find a basket and a picinc blanket. Then she ran upstairs. Her jeans and top were to hot to wear on a day like that. So she changed into a sundress. She fluffed her hair. And headed for the door. She grabbed her journal and was on her way.
Alyson walked into the park with the basket. She sighted Kadan and waved. She walked up to him. " So you ready?" She asked as she pointed to her basket. She didn't now why but she felt like some one was watching her. But she shook that feeling of and turned her attention back to the person infront of her. Kadan.
She walked up to an oak tree with a lot of shade and spread out the blanket.

Kadan watched as the muggle families played in the park. Sometimes, he wished he were young again. He wished he had a chance to grow up with both of his parents. He didn't even remember his mother. He was told by many people that he had her eyes; dark and mysterious. He didn't like to talk about it though. The thought of it depressed him.
Kadan spotted Alyson in the distance, and she waved to him. He noticed she had changed clothing, and was carrying a rather large basket and a blanket. "Somebody got all fancied up," he said in a sarcastic tone as she approached. "I didn't realize this was a formal occasion," he joked. He thought Alyson looked very nice, but felt a little under-dressed with his jeans and ball-cap. Assuming that Alyson had brought some food in the basket, he didn't bother to take out the sandwiches. At least not until he saw what was in the basket. He felt somewhat silly with only his two meat and cheese sandwiches. Well, if I don't use these, at least dad and I will have something for supper, he thought.
He walked over to the tree and sat in the shade where Alyson had laid the blanket. Careful to hide the brown-paper bag that was holding his deli purchase, he looked at Alyson. He had to admit, though a little emotionally overwhelming at first, Alyson was a kind-hearted person. "So what's in the basket?" he asked curiously.

" You helped me so I'm treating you to lunch. But unfortunately I can't cook so the ,cook, cooked all this food." Alyson lifted her ocean eyes to watch his reaction. She noticed his eyes. Not at all like hers. while hers were soft and reminded her of simpler , happier days. His were dark. Like the night. Holding back until you find the light. She smiled at the thought. Night. She though on the day she and her grandpa sat and he asked her what kind of guys she liked. She told him truthfully I like knights. I don't want a prince to sweep me of my feet. I'm waiting for a knight.
" Kadan can I ask you something? Am I pretty. Guys tell me I am. But I want the truth." She asked. She actually wanted two answers. To see if he liked he was a bonus answer and she wanted to know. Her feelings were mixed. She wanted to continue on her quest to find Taylor but she didn't find a caring guy every day.

Kadan smiled as Alyson explained that her cook had prepared them the food for their picnic. He thought how awkward it would be if he and his dad had a servant work for them. He had heard of house-elves working for wizarding families, but to have another person work for her family, Alyson must be wealthy. He looked at Alyson and saw her watching him. Just as he wondered what she could be thinking, she spoke, and he froze. The words 'Am I pretty?' rang through his head. He wasn't really sure where this was going. After a moment of silence that seemed like an hour, Kadan replied, "Well of course you're pretty... you're gorgeous." He truly meant what he had said, for Alyson was a very pretty young woman. Confused, Kadan added, "Why do you ask?"

Alyson blushed at his question. Why? " Well to see if you like me. If you do I like you too." Alyson said in a little voice. She looked up at him again. She watched him. She toke a sip of her spirit. She watched the couples in the park. She felt her self fantasizing. She looked at Adan again. She smiled. A smile that was true. Not a false one she used on adults. A honest to goodness smile. Why did is she feeling so uncomfortable. She knew she liked Kadan. But did he like her. That thought ran over and over in her mind.
She looked at him again. A loose strand of hair blew in her face by the wind and she moved aside. The small breeze danced on her shoulders. Through the leaves in the oak. And over the park. The wind played in kadan's hair as well. It caused Alyson to giggle. Some were in the distance some one was playing some music. The smell of fried food could be smelled from a distance. But nothing could distract her mind from being in reality with Kadan.

Kadan was overcome with ambivalence. He thought it was sweet of Alyson to tell him that she liked him, and he really did think she was a nice, pretty girl. He was however, not ready to rush into a relationship, and he knew his reply may determine that outcome. "Look," he said in a serious tone. "From what I've got to know of you, you are a great girl. I just feel that I would need to get to know you better before I can answer that question," he explained. "It's not that I don't like you, so please don't take this to heart." Kadan felt horrible after answering Alyson.
Nice, now she thinks I don't like her, he thought. I hope she understood what I meant by that. The mood had totally changed from an enjoyable time to a weird silence. He hoped this would not change their friendship.
"I hope you see where I'm coming from," he said softly, breaking the silence. "Maybe if we just hang out more and then after spending some time together, I would be able to give you a definite answer." Kadan couldn't look at Alyson until seeing how she reacted to his response.
