Madison Kenacheak woke up suddenly, with a start, in the Kenacheak Manor. She looked around furiously for the source that had woken her up. She then relized that there was an extremely loud screeching sound coming from somewhere. She checked her owl (Candy), and found that she was still asleep. The screeching then encreased, Maddie then relized that the sound was coming from the room next to hers. "Paris..." she muttered furiously.
She quickly jumped out of bed, threw open her bedroom door, walked into the hallway, threw open her sister's bedroom door, to find Paris sitting there, trying to quiet her owl down. "PARIS MICHELLE KENACHEAK!" Maddie screamed, as her younger sister looked up, with a startled look on her face. "SHUT THAT BLOODY OWL UP NOW!" The owl and Paris, stared at her, stunned. It seemed to have the shut the owl up though, so Maddie simply walked out of the room, a sastified expression on her face.
She couldn't beleive that he parents didn't even say anything about it! Her parents seemed like they were always taking Paris's side. Paris was a second year, and it seemed like she always got away with everything! Although, she was pretty sure if her father were there, he probably would've hexed the owl, or maybe even killed it. Oh how Maddie wished that she could do magic outside of school, but unfortunitly, it was against the law, which wasn't fair at all!
Once she had arrived back at her room, she checked the time on the huge grandfather clock, that stood rigt next to the big fireplace, in her bedroom. It was 8:00, way too early for Maddie to be waking up during the summer! She tried to go back to sleep, but failed. "Gwen!" she yelled suddenly, after getting out of bed. Suddenly, a small, female, pinkish house elf appeared. "Yes miss?" she asked. "Breakfast, now!" she barked back. "Yes miss." she said, before scurrying downstairs. Gwen was Maddie's personal house elf.
A few minutes later, Gwen reappeared with a tray of breakfast in her hands. Maddie took it from her and nodded her head in approval for the elf to go away. Once she was finished with breakfast, she took a shower, and got dressed. Maddie was still in a very bad mood at the time. She hated being woke up this early, and she was already in a nasty mood. She stormed downstairs. Wihtout saying anything to anybody, she walked out the door, and slammed it shut, hard.
She walked a few blocks away from her house, just walking and not really in the mood to be talking to anyone. She soon stopped at a nearby park, that was always emty. The only thing that always occupied it was a big willow tree, with a nice, small bench underneath. There was also some other trees and a sidewalk. Maddie moved over to the bench, and sat down, her arms crossed over her chest, and a scowl on her face.
