Padme listened to Cameron brag to Tessa the whole breakfast. "Now, I get a free trip to the America's! Isn't that wonderful? There's only two tickets, one for me and one for you." He said in his gruff voice, kissing Tessa on the cheek. Tessa, who was very pretty and still quite young, let her eyes travel over to Padme. "Darling, I'm sorry. You understand, don't you? This is very important and Cameron and I get to spend some time alone together. I'm sure you'll appreciate it." Tessa looked very sad indeed. Padme avoided eye-contact with the two of them.
"Yes, mother. But, where am I to go? I have no place to stay." Cameron seemed to jerk out of a reverie at these words. "Anyone who wants you can have you. They have to be pure of blood though." Padme nodded slowly, her mind working at full speed. Who would take me? Jack might, but I've heard some bad things about Mr. Rendel. I don't know who else. She sighed and then stood up and excused herself from the table.
Wondering around London's dreary streets are never fun, mostly when one is alone. I feel left out and stranded from the rest of the human species. Her brown hair was looking rather messy; Padme longed for a brush. She sat down on the curb and tried to comb it with her fingers, which proved to be difficult. "Argh!" She said as she stood up yet again. When will my life ever be easy? She wasn't sure, but she didn't dwell on the thought for long. She walked over to a restaurant that had chairs outside. She sat down away from everyone else and ordered fries and onion rings. She smiled at the waiter and then glanced at the street. No one was basically around, just a few people here and there. Padme wasn't sure what to do, so she waited for her order impatiently, trying not to think of what Cameron and Tessa had just told her.
