Jordan jumped out of the coach she had taken to Hogsmeade and ran to the fountain where she was supposed to meet Katie. The present was forming a lump in her coat pocket, and Jordan couldnt wait to give it to Katie. She sat down at a bench and looked around at the passersby, looking for Katie.

Katie was just walking through the corridors of Hogwarts she was waiting for on of her secret passage she overheard from somebody to geting into Hogesmade. She than took some candy out of her pocket and started eating it. She was wondering what Jordan was going to give her she really didn’t need anything, really she didn’t. As she reached the witch she smiled and looked around her no one was there and she tapped the witches left leg and right eye and it open leading down a dark path. Katie got out her wand
"Lumos" Katie said as she entered the dark passage way that would lead to Honeyducks.
As she walked down the path and saying the spell over again she kept on thinking about many things. She was wondering if anyone would notice her gone because first years anent allowed to go to Hogesmade and Jordan knew that Katie could get there with out being seen. As Katie walked up the steps she than tripped and feel down.
"Stupid two feet." Katie said as she tried to walk up the dark darks and opening a secret door.
She peeked through it and looked around seeing boxes and boxes of candy. Katie mouth started to water as she got out and dazed at the candy.
"Man that’s allot of candy" Katie said as she licked her lips. She than tried to get out of her trance and walked quietly out of basement and into the candy store.
As Katie was walking towards they door she noticed Ron and Harry who were both by the door also. Katie looked around and noticed a fan she took it and put it over her face as she ran outside into the cold weather. She was relived as Ron and Harry didn’t notice her.
Katie walked around Honeyducks and saw the three brooms stick sign and looked thought the window and saw her many friends drinking butterbeer and having fun. She than remembered meeting Jordan by the fountain and she tried to walk where she thought it might be.
She snuggled in her sweat shirt trying to hide her face as any professor walked by her or people who knew her. She than reached Jordan by the fountain and ran over towards her.
"Jordan I finally made it what was it that you were wonting to give me?" Katie asked as she was right in front of Jordan giving her a big smiled under her sweat shirt.

Jordan looked at her watch, sighing, sat down, then stood up, but only to sit back down again. She smiled when she saw a familiar head bob through the crowd, a sweter over her face so the Professor's did nto see.
"Oi Katie!" Jordan called, as she waved her over towards her. Katie approached Jordan, and asked what Jordan wanted to give her. Jordan smiled, and sat down, indicating Katie should do so also.
"I just wanted, to say thanks for everything. And for helping me with my mim's death an all. I know it wasn't easy. So I am giving you this..." Jordan explained as she pulled out a black leather box. In red the initials K.D. intertwined and she handed it to Katie. Inside, was a red ruby. Glimmering with all its might and hope, she had given Kiyla one, and was planning on giving one to Amelia and Dillion.

Katie was shocked at the present she was shaking. She didn’t give Jordan her present yet she needed to but she was thinking about her mother’s funeral and what she was going to say there.
"Oh my gosh this is so....... Beautiful" Katie said giving Jordan a big hug. Katie could feel her eyes tear she never had a friend who gave her something so beautiful.
As she pulled away from her hug Katie started to cry.
"I never had a friend like you Jordan..... I never even had a friend before I came here..... And now I do you give me this beautiful gift when I don’t have anything for you yet." Katie said as she wiped her tears away.
Katie than took out the letter from her father and handed it to Jordan.
Dear Katie Anne Davenport!
You just got me at the wrong time now I am supposed to be at work two minutes ago. I am glad that you are having a great time but never said anything like that in a tone like that at me. Do you hear me? I raised you better than that.
Remember to come home on Holiday break along with two friends, ONLY TWO, for you mothers funeral. Make sure they won’t play pranks or anything, I really mean it. I also got you a dress to wear to it and you have to wear it. Don't write back at this time honey I have now missed 10 minutes of work.

"I also have to say a speech in the also and I am inviting you and Dillion." Katie said as she was holding back strong tears. Katie needed to be strong she didn’t wont to have another break down.

Jordan smiled as Katie hugged her. Katie's mood then changed and she handed her a letter. As Jordan read the letter she was uncannily reminded of her mother's death notice, and Chris sending the formal three sentence letter.
"I'll come if you want me to. But no pranks? Come on, what's a funeral without any pranks? And does this mean I have to dress up? Me? Dress up? Dress? Oi vey..." Jordan told her as she handed back the letter, her eyes were sending condolence signals to her, hoping that Katie was recieving them.

Katie nodded her head. She didn’t even wont to dress up she hated dress, skirts, and make up. She than was still holding back strong tears in her eyes.
"No you don’t have to dress up I have to my dads inviting all his stupid little patients and doctors friends." Katie said in an annoyed voice.
"Put I am doing pranks anyway....." Katie said with a sly smile. She than wiped her face and making the tears go away.
"Sorry I am crying it’s just that I can't stand it anymore my father now hates me to death!" Katie said as tears snuck behind her again.
She than hugged Jordan again she needed someone to hug she was just broke down and confused.

Jordan cringed at the thought of wearing a dress, then smield when Katie she didn't have to. Katie said she was going to pull pranks anyway, that made Jordan smile more. Then Katie hugged Jordan and cried into her. Jordan patted her back and shhed her gently.
"Do you know the song 'A few of my favorite things'?" Jordan asked, still patting her back. She didn't wait for Katie to answer.
"When the dogs bark, and the bee stings, these are a few of my favorite things." Jordan sang quietly, she smiled and pulled away from the hug. Wiped away Katie's tears and tilted her head.
"My Mim used to sing that to me, when I was sad. That's all I did when I first found out about her death, sang that song to myself before I went to sleep." Jordan told her with a small encouraging smile on her face.

Katie continued to cry she was hiding the tears for so long. She didn’t wont people to think she was a wimp she just wonted to be true Gryffindor and one would not cry.
"I........just.........confused........." Katie said still hugging Jordan. Katie felt safe in Jordan’s arms; it was like having a big sister always there for you.
"My........father.........doesn’t.........really.......like me anymore." Katie said in-betweens cries. She hated her father now they used to so close and now they hated each other.
"I wonted to be a real Gryffindor and not cry Gryffindor don't cry they hide their tears and continue." Katie said still in Jordan arms. Katie didn’t won’t to leave where she was she felt like she was with her mother again. More tears went down her check and she closed her eyes as Jordan sang the song to her.

"Oh, Katie. Crying is humane. You are allowed to cry. I bet even Malfoy's cried once in his life." Jordan told her as she hugged her again. Jordan knew what it felt like to want to cry, but she didn;t like crying alone. She knew Katie needed someone to talk to, and for someone to listen to her pain. And that's what Jordan was there for.
"When I was, say 6 or 7, my Mim had to go away on a business trip, she gave me this music box. And when I opened it, it played that tune. It helped me through...the events that happened, maybe it could help you. It sort of encourage me to continue, knowing she would want me to." Jordan told Katie, as she bent over and pulled out her music box from her bag. She wound it up and opened it, handing it to Katie as the melody played out into the crisp morning air.

Katie looked at the music box as it played its song. Katie than tried to take long deeps breathes to calm herself down. She totaly broke down in front of Jordan.
"Thanks Jordan its really nice music. I been helding back my tears for so long trying to be strong but I now know that I cant always be strong and its okay to cry at times." Katie said smiling at Jordan.
"I wish you were my sister...." Katie said smiling and playing the music box over again.

Jordan listened intently. Hearing every pain and sorrow in her voice, knowing that she had gone through it herself.
"Holding back tears, just brings more." Jordan said, as she was starting to tear up. She wiped away the oncoming tears and smiled at Katie.
"Katie, I can be your sister if you want. I already consider you something like my little sister..." She trailed off...wondering what to say next...

Katie could feel her knees weaken and she fell to the ground and sat down. She than got right back up before she could burst out into tears all over.
"I WILL NOT CRY" Katie screamed in her mind as she rose from the ground back to her legs.
She looked up at Jordan and smiled as if too say she was okay.
"I really wish you could be but we dont have the same famlies and we barley live near each other." Katie said with a sigh. She pulled back her long brown hair that was in her face and wipped away the rest of the tears.

Jordan bit her lip, wondering if she dare speak the words she was about to utter. She turned to Katie.
"Do you dislike your home life that much?" Jordan asked. Her eyes piercing Katies.
"Because, if you do...maybe I could ask my brother, Chris to...well...adopt you...that could be the right word. We have more than enough room at my house, and it would be nice to have a girl around, besides Rosa." Jordan explained, biting her lip again. Katie could have the spare bedroom that was across from Jordan's room, and she could decorate it in anyway she wanted.

katie looked up at Jordan very shocked some one asked her to live with them.
"I would love too my father wonted to send me to the orphanage because he thought he couldnt take care of me after my mom died." Katie said as a tear went down her check.
Her father only kept her in the house because then the butlers would tell on him and she could be sent to jail for it. He never really loved Katie he tried to but she was just to much to handle when she was a child.

"So...is that a yes? Do you want me to write Chris an owl?" Jordan asked, feeling a little sad for Katie. She smiled encouragingly at her and waited for her answer.
She also wondered how Chris would take this....

Katie bit her lip also and nooded her head at Jordan. Every single day after her mothers death she wished she could leave her house to live with some one else. Katie hated her father he would leave her alone with no butlers all time and always yelled at for no reson. He would find something about Katie and tell her that she needs to fixed it to become a "lady".
A tear went down her check as she rememebred her lonley days back at the manor. Her mom was only home some of the times but she loved Katie so much. Katie knew her father would loved to get rid of her and quikly.
Katie also wondered what Chris Jordans older brother would think of her as part of the family.
