"1 cup of strawberries, dear, over there." Mrs. Hill poured the flour into the large bowl which was placed on the counter, and stirred the batter. Elina smiled at her mother and grabbed the strawberries, measured out one cup, and then poured thoseinto the batter as well. Elina and Ashely were home for the weekend, and Elina was helping her mother make desert. Strawberry cake. Elina often cooked with her mother, and enjoyed every bit of it. The tradition started when her father opened the resteraunt, and her mother started to be the head chef. It was never broken. Everytime the two girls came home for a weekened, Elina and Mrs. Hill would cook and they'd all sit down to a nice family dinner. Mr. Hill and Ashley were always off doing something, Elina didn't know but, she really didn't know and there were times she was hurt by that. They knew what Elina and Meredith were doing, why couldn't Elina know what Ashley and Ben were doing? "Elina, dear, the door?" The doorbell had been ringing while Elina was in her reverie, and she immediately jumped from her seat and went to greet the caller. As Elina passed through the large entryway, she looked at herself in the mirror to make sure she looked decent. Her long brown hair was pulled tightly into a nice bun and she wore a casual house dress. If someone didn't know any better, she would look like someone from Stepford.
She sighed, tucked at the apron that she was wearing and laid that down on the chair next to the little table along the east wall. She smoothed out her dress and opened the door with a swift movement. Only to be plowed over by her father and Ashley carrying in boxes. Elina gasped and stepped away, letting them set the boxes down near the wall. She closed the door and looked at her father, "Why, you're muddy! Go upstairs and change for supper! Now! And when you are done, you may put those boxes wherever they belong." Elina scolded her father, she didn't expect him to say anything to her, she was the good child. Maybe not his favorite, but he had no reason to yell at her when all she did was want to keep the house tidy. Meredith then came out of the kitchen, looked at the mess, and did the same as Elina. Scolded her husband and her daughter then ordered them to clean up. Ben went to the kitchen and Meredith followed, so Elina took this time to clean up the boxes, while talking to Ashley; "What did you guys do today? Tag football?" She asked with a hint of sarcasm. She grunted as she lifted the box and shoved that aside closer to the wall. Just to tidy up the little corner, they would have to finish it later.

It was a Saturday and Ashley was with her father out at the park playing sports. There game today was tag football with her father's friends and a couple of their sons. Ashley was almost considered a boy to them and not a pretty girl. Well maybe because Ashley felt more comfortable around boys than girls. Hey she was a tom boy so what. If that was your problem if you didn’t like her, it was who Ashley was on the inside and you couldn’t change that. Not even with magic. "Play trash can! Hick!" shouted Jake throwing the ball towards Ashley. She grinned and held out her hands and watched the ball fall in her arms. "Run Ashley! Run!" he shouted as she ran as fast as her little legs could take her. Going from one way to the other her than got tackled and hit into a pile of mud. Laughing Ashley rolled over and shoved James into the dirt. "Hey remember that I am a girl so it does hurt me inside when you do that." she said smiling and standing up from the ground. Her pants were completly muddy! Elina and her mother were going to complain about it. "Dad when do we have to go?" she said walked over towards her father who was talking to James father. "Well sweetie mom got dinner almost ready so probably now. See you later Lance." he said gesturing his arms towards the group of men and putting his arm around his younger daughters shoulders and had a proud smile on his face.
The two walked towards the car and Ashley sat in the front seat with a huge smile on her face. "Do you think moms going to kill us?" she asked pulling her seat belt over her shoulder and looking out the window. "Well Ashley I think so. But I hope not that bad. Now lets turn on the music shall we." he said turning on the stereo and letting Ashley flip through songs. Pressing the black button she turned from song to song. Some were rap and others classical music. After searching which seemed like forever she found a station and her favorite singer blurted into the car. "Yes! Ashley Simpson song on! Come dad sing!" Ashley said smiling and bobbing her head to the music.
"You can dress me up in diamonds You can dress me up in dirt You can throw me like a line-man I like it better when it hurts
Oh, I have waited here for you I have waited
You make me wanna la la in the kitchen on the floor I'll be a french maid Where I'll meet you at the door I'm like an alley cat Drink the milk up, I want more You make me wanna You make me wanna scream" Ashley sang and laughing along with her father and continued to bob her head.
As the song ended and the car pulled into the long drive way, Ashley turned off the stereo and jumped out of the car and was greeted with the dogs. "Chicha! Shelby! Toutis! My dogs come here!" Ashley said picking up her small Pomeranian in her hands and than letting go as her father wanted her to carrying in some boxes. "What are they for?" Ashley asked picking up two and carrying them inside. "I don’t know Meredith wanted them. I am guessing there the new table cloths." he said heaving two in his arms and closing the trunk to the car and walking up the steeps to the house. Ashley felt like she was going to drop the heavy load that was in her arms and rang the door bell desperately for Elina to answer. "Elina! Come on answer the door my arms are killing me!" Ashley shouted and pilled inside dropping the boxes in the corner of the room.
Elina was saying something about being dirty and Ashley looked down at her clothes. Her yellow tee shirt was muddy and her shorts were all wrinkles and wet. Her mother came into the room also and complained about the same thing. Rolling her eyes Ashley watched as her father entered the kitchen to clean up. "Ha Elina your right! I was playing football with the boys. You really need to get out of the house more girls. There’s a world other than books. Now where did I leave my beautiful dogs?" Ashley said wondering up the stairs and entering her vibrant colored room. It was clean! "Elina! Why did you clean my room? Now I am not going to be able to find anything!" Ashley complained digging around her room for a nice pair of jeans. Shelby was on her bed cleaning her paws and cuddling next to Sassy. The dog and cat enjoyed each others company and were great friends.
After ten minutes raving her room Ashley found her white pants and a polo white and blue shirt. Her face was washed and her brown hair in pig tail braids. She had one a nice pair of Areopostale flip flops and walked out of her room and back down stairs to the kitchen. Chica followed behind her and kept wagging that little tail of hers. Ashley loved her tiny dog and picked her up and entered the blue kitchen where a glass of water was on the table for her. Sitting down in one of the stools she still holds her tiny dog in hand. "Ashley how many times do I have to tell you? The dog stays on the flour and out of the kitchen." Meredith said taking out the cake from the oven. Sighing she put her dog to the ground and watched her run into the living room.

Elina merely rolled her eyes as Ashley complained about her room being clean, "Well, if you attempted to pick it up a bit we wouldn't have this problem, now would we?" She asked, her tone slightly sharp but, more annoyed. Elina leaned against the door frame, and watched as her sister just made the room a mess again. Comprehending what Ash had said about there being more to books in the world. Elina knew this, she was making new friends, starting to flirt a lot more. Then again, that was the side Ash didn't see. That was the side no one in her family saw. Finally; Elina sighed, clapped her hands and heard the jingle of Ceiuci's bell as she came near. Elina scooped down and picked up the Maine Coone in her arms, hearing the soft pur of the little kitten.
"Dinner's almost ready, so hurry up and get down there." Elina said as she parted from her sister's room and made her way downstairs, Ceiuci still in her arms. She entered the kitchen to see her mom and dad kissing, Elina put her free arm up, "Ew! Gross! Can't you wait until after I go to bed?" She said in a disgusted tone. Ben chuckled and pulled away from his wife, who fixed her hair. Elina sighed, and sat down at the bar. Letting Ceiuci roam freely on the counter, "Y'know it's amazing you two are together." Sharp glances from her parents, "I mean! You two are so different. I guess it's true when they say opposites attract." Elina quickly added. Meredith shrugged, while Ben smiled with that twinkle in his eye. Ceuici merrily made her way over to the spaghetti sauce, that cat liked her spaghetti. Meredith tsked Ceiuci and placed her on the floor. The cat scampered off as Ashley entered. Carrying Chica. Elina didn't like that dog, after she had chewed up her prada high-heels, she always looked at that dog with annoyance.

((There is a new set of dogs in the Hills family Elina. Just look at Ashley's xanga site.))
Ashley walked into the kitchen to see her mother and father kissing. Screaming almost at the top of her lungs she turned around and buried her head in her hands. "Ew! You people are nasty! Really come one there are children in this house and think about the animals as well." Ashley said after Hearing Elina finishing. Turning around form her spot she looked at her parents as they went back to real businesses. Sighing with relief she took a seat down at the counter and took a sip at of the ice cold water that her mother just set down. Ashton than bounced in the room as Ashley began to swallow. The little Jack Russell terrier barked at Elina and than hoped on over towards Ashley and jumped in his owners arms.
Almost falling backwards Ashley muscled her little dog in her hand and craddled him softly not caring the stares from Elina. Ashton might have chewed up her shoes in the past, but he was only a puppy. Smiling, she set him down on the flour and looked at stove as dinner was about to be ready. "Children sit down at the table its time for dinner." Meredith said putting her hands into hand mittens and picking up the pan and walked into the dinning room where everything was all set. Ashley took a seat at the end next to her father and waited for the food to come. "Ashley put your napkin in your lap!" Meredith said coming over to Ashley and pilling the pasta in the girls plate. Sighing she picked up the silk napkin and set it down in her lap and looked at Ben as she began to twirl his pasta on a fork.
After dinner was served everyone always went into the living room to watch a movie. Plopping down on the couch, Ashley saw her two other dogs come into the room. Caption, the German Shepard, took a spot by Ben’s side and closed his eyes as he was being scratched. Bree, the Shetland sheepdog, walked over towards Ashley and jumped on the couch and rested her head in the girls lap. Finally Ashton came running into the room and jumped in Elina's lap licking her face. Giggling Ashley pet Bree and rested her own head on her dog’s stomach and looked at the TV. Her eyes began to drop ever so slightly as the rain began to beat on the window. Rubbing her eyes, Ashley stood up from her spot and walked over towards her father and cradled up next to him.
Ben held Ashley light in his arms as he let her watch TV. Stroking her curly blonde hair he kissed her forehead and smiled proudly as she began to drift off into sleep. "I guess it bed time already. Here Elina help me take this youngster to her room." Ben said standing up and holding Ashley in his arms as she slept not even noticing a thing. Bree jumped down from her spot along with Ashton and followed the man into the young girl’s room.

Dinner went by ever so slowly, and Elina was starting to want to retreat back to her room and work on her drawings. But, she didn't. She followed family tradition and watched the movie. After it was finished, and Elina was covered in dog slobber, she looked to her sister. She had fallen asleep. Elina stood up, pushing Ashton off, and crossed her arms as her mothe started to pour another glass of wine. She shook her head in disgust and then turned to help her father. He started to lift Ashley in his arms but, Elina stopped him and took out her wand, "Wingardium Leviosa." She whispered, and Ashley's sleeping figure floated into the air, "Much easier." She explained to her father, who nodded and followed Elina upstairs.
She layed the sleeping Ashley in her bed, and watched her father tuck her in. When he was done, Elina left and went into her room. Only soon to be followed by Ben. Elina lay on her bed, drawing pad in hand and pencil vigoursly at work drawing a comic sketch. Her sketches hung up all over her lavendar walls and they were quite good. It was a habit she had taken up. Mostly comics of her family life. How she went from Perfect Daughter to less than perfect but, still above the average. Elina looked up as she heard the knock on her door, "Hey Pa." She greeted with a small smile, then she went back to her drawing. Ben didn't leave though, he entered and sat at her desk, looking at her drawings.
"Hey, Kiddo. I have a question...more of a favor...to ask of you." He finally spoke. Elina stopped drawing and raised her right eyebrow, in slight curiousity. Her father never asked her for favors. She set aside her drawings and sat up, looking straight at her father, who seemed a bit nervous, "Okay, shoot." She told him. Ben smiled nervously and stood up, running his hands along his jeans as if to dry them from sweat. He paced her room, and Elina watched him, interested and confused. "I need to be chef at the restauraunt after you graduate." Ben spoke, and when he did Elina got it loud and clear. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. Laying back down. "C'mon El! Please!" He begged her. Elina looked at him.
"Elina Hill- chef? I think not! Elina Hill- professor? Maybe! But, definitely NOT a chef! Ask, Ash. She'll do anything for you." Elina spat back at him. Her attitude showing more than ever. His eyes reflected past anger. She knew she struck a nerve. But, all he did was smile a small smile and leave the room. Elina sighed, placed her drawings underneath her bed, and switched off her lamp. She turned over on her side and fell asleep, thinking about letting her father down.

Ashley stirred in her sleep as a band of thunder came from the shy. Sweat rolled down her face as she pulled the covers off of her and held her teddy bear tight. Snuggles had always been there for her when ever she was scared. He was old and ruined but Ashley never gave him away. He was to value to her and meant so much. Snuggling more with him she turned on her side and looked at Bree as she slept on the ground by her bed. Her coat was shinning and the dog didn’t seem to be disturbed by the weather that was happening outside. Sighing Ashley scratched Bree behind the ears and curled up into a ball and looked around her room.
Everything was purple and blue and moon and stars filled her room. Turning on her back, Ashley looked up at her star filled ceiling and enjoyed the light from the glowing stars. A very dark secert of hers was that she was afraid of the dark. Okay being a four-teen year old must mean you broke all of your old habits and fears, but for Ashley she still kept them. They still scared her so much. Taking a deep breath, Ashley slipped on her blue cotton robe and crept out of her room and down the hall towards Elina's. Her long curly hair was all puffed up more than usual from her stirring and her eyes felt dry and tired. Yawning softly she opened the door to her sisters lavender room and walked over towards her sleeping body.
Pushing her lightly, Ashley climbed in her bed and held snuggles tight in her arms. Bree than came running into the room at Ashley’s side and made her on the ground next to the bed. "Elina I can't sleep." Ashley whispered harshly and petted her dog’s soft fur and jumped at the sound of thunder. She was acting more like a child than ever, but she was scared at the moment. Moving more under the covers she snuggled with her bear and listened to her sister sing softly. Her eyes began to drop, and just minutes she was sound asleep not noticing the band of thunder from over head.
As a tank of light came from the window peeking in the room, Ashley woke up from her sleep and found herself in her sister’s room. Moving slowly upward she grabbed her head and looked at Bree who came into the room licking her lips which meant she had just eaten her morning food. Yawning and stanching into the air, Ashley stood up from the beg and walked out of the room down to the kitchen. Seeing her mother by the stove flipping pancakes and her father reading the Sunday paper with caption at his side. Smiling Ashley sat down at the table with her both of her hands on her lap and the morning rays on her back. "Did you have a good night dead?" Meredith asked putting pancakes on the girls plate and than down towards Elina's. "No I couldn't sleep again so I slept in Elina's room. Are we still going to the rink daddy?" Ashley asked taking a sip of her orange juice and smiling at her sister wondering if she well come as well.
