Vanessa shoved the box out of the way of the spare bedroom and out into the hallway. She then went back into the bedroom and started to redo the room for Kelsey. When she heard a "oomph!" Vanessa peered out into the hallway with curiosity and laughed as she saw Aryeh on his back in the middle of the floor, the contents of the box scattered throughout the little strip of walkway. Vanessa bent down to help the 16 year old up, her hand grasping his. But, he was too much for her, because in herself she fell back and hit her head on the wall, causing the picture frame to slip off it's nail and fall onto the floor next to her.
"Aryeh McKenzie!" Taylor hollered as she walked up the stairs and saw the mess that was now in the hallway. Her hands went to her hips, dishrag in hand, and a stern smile on her face. Aryeh laughed and jumped up, helping Vanessa up as well, and looked to the little lady blocking his only escape. Vanessa nudged Aryeh and began to pick up the photographs and pld dolls that had been in the box. Taylor slapped Aryeh with the dishrag playfully and left the two to clean up the mess they had made. Aryeh picked up the little red-headed rag doll and laughed at the thought of Vanessa playing with it, before tossing it into the box. Vanessa quickly grabbed it up and stroked the yarn hair.
"Be nice to Elle Louise. She was a better friend than you ever were." She said accusingly. Aryeh chuckled and together they finished cleaning up the hallway. Once they were finished, he shoved the box into the study that was across the hall from the spare bedroom and turned to the younger girl. Vanessa crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows at him slightly before sighing and entering the spare bedroom. Kelsey would be there in less than 30 minutes, and Aryeh wanted to meet her. Why, Vanessa had no clue but, if he tried any funny busines...any at all, she swore on Merlin's Beard that he wouldn't see the light of day again.
"So, this Kelsey...she pretty?" He asked as he looked at the pictures that were still hanging on the wall. Vanessa set down the picture she had been holding on the desk near her and turned to face her friend. Her arms crossed over her chest once more and she looked at him as if she dared him to ask that question one more time. And, knowing Aryeh, he would. Vanessa waited for him to ask it, but he merely smiled lazily and shook his head as if to tell her forget he even asked. She narrowed her eyebrows before turning back to the pictures.
When she was done with the photos, Vanessa took one last look around the room and smiled satisfied. She turned off the light, grabbed Aryeh's hand and pulled him downstairs to the living room which was alive with the nightly news and the sound of Matthew pouring wine into a glass. They always had wine before they went to sleep, whether it was during dinner or before. How early Matthew drank his wine you could tell how late he would be in bed. Vanessa glanced at the grandfather clock, wondering how late it was and saw that it was only 6. She knew he would be in bed by 10. As they sat down on the white couch, Vanessa looked at Aryeh with an upraised eyebrow. Her ears listening for the soft tingle of the doorbell.

Kelsey went back to her dresser and took out a few shirts. She turned to her bed where a half packed traveling bag and her open Violin Case, inside was her dark brown sycamore Violin. Kelsey placed the shirts inside the bag and then turned back to her dresser. She took up a pair of jeans and her favorite jean skirt. As she went back to her dresser to get some more clothes, the corner of a white envelope stuck out among her many under garments. She looked into the hallway and then grabbed the envelope. Her eyes started to tear as she gazed down at it. She shook her head, her eyes closed, and put the envelope back in the dresser. It was too painful to look inside... still. She grabbed some more clothes and finished her packing. Alex, whos real name was Janice, walked inside and knocked lightly at the door to Kelsey's room. Kelsey turned and smiled brightly, hoping Alex didn't see the tears standing in her eyes, unshed. Alex smiled back. "You ready? The cab's here," Kelsey nodded and closed her Violin Case. She put on her favorite black leather jacket. (looks like this: Click here) Kelsey then grabbed her bag and her Violin Case and followed Alex out to the cab that waited for her. She turned to Alex and smiled, hugging her. Alex opened the cab door and motioned for Kelsey to get inside. "Go on... you're going to be late!" Kelsey laughed and said goodbye one more time. She got inside the cab and shut the door. Almost 75 minutes later, Kelsey told the cab driver to stop. She looked out the window at Vanessa's house. She smiled, feeling excited and gave the Cab driver his money. She then got out of the cab and slammed the door. She turned back to the house and slowly started to walk toward the house. She gulped. Kelsey wasn't used to going to friend's houses... in fact she wasn't used to having friends! She got to the door and knocked twice. Only twice. She then stepped back and started to grip her bag handle more firmly and gulped in nerves.

Vanessa nearly collided into her piano as she rounded the corner to go into the entry way. There had been a knock on the door and she was hoping that it was Kelsey. Vanessa hadn't planned anything large, except maybe a rehearsal for the talent theatre that was going to happen in three weeks. She also wanted to shoot her music video and was hoping Kelsey would like to help with that. She wouldn't be in it, unless she wanted to learn the dance steps, but really it was a one person dance so Vanessa didn't know how to convert it. She reached the door and immediately opened, despite the warnings to ask who it was before inviting anyone in. She pulled Kelsey in and shut the door firmly. The neighbors on her particular street were very nosey, especially being from Dorset. This is what made Vanessa miss the city at times, but only at times. Everyone had their own business to attend to, not worry about others. Everyone in small towns or in country lands are so nosey about their neighbors, and it annoyed Vanessa. "Sorry for the arm jerking entrance, but my neighbors are extremely nosey. Shoulda seen them when Chad and Jasmine came over. The town was buzzing about my new 'guy friend.'" Vanessa apologized as she fixed her hair and locked the door. She pulled Kelsey into the living room for everyone to meet her. Vanessa sat down next to Aryeh, and tilted her head. She knew Kelsey was a bit uncomfortable, but she also knew that Taylor would welcome her with a hug. "Hello Kelsey, I'm Taylor and this is Matthew. Welcome to our home. I've heard a lot about you from Vanessa." Taylor said standing up and walking over to the girl. Taylor reminded Vanessa of a doll, so elegant so young, and so perfect. Her deep black hair was pulled up into a tight bun (see Here), she always wore a string of pearls around her tan neck that her late husband had given her (see Here). People who didn't know Taylor and Matthew that well, would say they were married, but really they are brother and sister. Vanessa watched as Taylor hugged Kelsey and then Matthew stood up and held out his hand for the girl to shake. Vanessa glanced at his hands, the roughness of his skin only reminded her of her father. Matthew was a kind soul, someone who read to his neice when she cried, but he worked in a rough business. And there were times when Vanessa was worried to death about him. Matthew smiled at Kelsey before going into the kitchen and pouring himself another glass of wine. Why was he drinking two glasses? It was Aryeh's turn to introduce himself, he stood up and shook Kelsey's hand. "I'm Aryeh, the older brother around here. But, I'm not...related to, Va-Vanessa." He smiled warmly before sitting back down and nudging Vanessa. Vanessa rolled her eyes and stood up, grabbed Kelsey's bag and her free hand and pulled her upstairs to the guest room. The yellow hallway was illuminated with candles, and small lights in each corner. Her aunt and uncle believed in simple lighting, and Vanessa didn't argue with them. Though she did stash a fire extinguisher under her bed. Vanessa came to the guest bedroom and opened the door, revealing a colorfully decorated room (See Here).

Kelsey gasped in surprise as Vanessa grabbed her and yanked her inside. Her bag almost fell from her hand and her Violin Case hit the wall. She almost fell over but Vanessa still held onto her coat. Kelsey got her ballance and set down her bag. Then she looked at Vanessa as if the girl went completely mad! When Vanessa explained about the neighbors, Kelsey only nodded but kept the 'I think you just went insane' look on her face. Then the introductions came. She gulped and patted the woman on the back nervously. Her name was Taylor. She smiled.
"Nice to meet you Taylor, I'm Kelsey," Then The man stood up. Her first intention was that this Mathew person was Taylor's husband. But they looked too much alike to be husband and wife. More like brother and sister. Kelsey took his hand with a warm smile. His hands were rough and hard and Kelsey rubbed at her own after he sat down again.
"nice to meet you to," Then a boy stood up. She felt her heart start to pump harder as she knew she was getting nervouse. She stared at him stupidly as he took her hand. Her heart fluttered and she smiled shyly. He was very cute. He stuttered at the end of his sentence and made Kelsey giggle. Inside her head she wondered what was happening to her!? Why was she flirting... with Vanessa's brother?! She gukped again and felt Vanessa grab her hand. She shut her eyes in dread... it was coming... She nodded sligthly as Vanessa started to yank her up the stairs.
"Your getting rather fond of yanking me around aren't you?" Kelsey asked as Vanessa dragged her upstairs. Kelsey took one last look at the boy before they entered the room. His name was Aryeh... she had to remember that. Then she looked around the room and her mouth dropped. It was a wonderful room. The bed looked so comfortable and she saw a cookie next to the bed.
"OOO!" she squeeled, "Cookies!" she looked back at Vanessa and hugged her.
"Can I live here?" she asked in awe as she fell onto the bed. Her Violin Case fell onto the floor and it opened. Her Violin fell from the Case. Kelsey shot up and jumped off the bed to get it. She picked it up and gasped. A string had broke. She felt horrible... she couldn't even use magic to repair it. She set her Violin back into its case and looked up. She sighed and closed the Violin Case. Then she set it down next to the cookies and grabbed one, munching on it.

Vanessa rolled her eyes at Kelsey's excitement. It wasn't that good, wait until she saw Vanessa's room. When Kelsey's violin broke, Vanessa immediately looked to Aryeh, who had his hands stuck in his pockets and was looking down. Vanessa raised her eyebrow at him before crossing her arms, "Aryeh. Just go get some strings, alright?" She asked him, slightly annoyed. Aryeh sighed and went to his room, and came back a moment later, a package of strings in his right hand. He picked up Kelsey's violin and opened it. His hands working elegantly as he put the strings onto the string instrument. "It's a great violin," He muttered as he looked up at Kelsey and smiled a charming smile. He closed the case and left the two girls to themselves, closing the door behind him. Vanessa sat down on the chair that was across from the bed, pulled her legs up under her and rested her chin on her knee. Her brown eyes looked at Kelsey, then a small smile crossed her face. She was ready to show Kelsey the field. The field was her backyard, and as far as the eye could see it was made up of sunflowers. A little creek flowed from somewhere from the forest that bordered their backyard, and fartehr down the field was a footbridge. The footbridge was wear the teenagers went after the theatre when the parents had taken over the stage. "Come with me, we'll unpack your things later...." Vanessa told her as she stood up and opened the door. As the door left the frame, Aryeh stumbled in with it. He lay on the floor, and Vanessa looked down at him with a narrowed eyebrow. He smiled innocently and scrambled to get up, "We weren't talking about you Dweeb. So you didn't have to listen through the door." Vanessa snapped at him, pushing him aside and grabbing Kelsey. She pulled her through the hallway, down the stairs, and through the kitchen. There was a round table in the middle, and the actual kitchen behind. There was a sliding door that lead to the deck outside and outside was the field (See Here). Knocking a few things over, Vanessa made her way to the sliding door and slid it open. The sun was setting, so it was a remarkable sight, and she finally let go of Kelsey as she leaned over the deck railing. Looking out at the sunflower field. To the right a ways, was the talent theatre in its magnificence. Then to the left was a trampoline (see Here). Vanessa smiled at Kelsey as she looked at the yellow flowers she adored so much...(See Here).

Kelsey looked out across the feild. At the beauty and the wonder of all the flowers. Kelsey wasn't one to go skipping through a feild like this and sing about mountains, but she did enjoy the beauty of it all. Kelsey sighed feeling content. She turned to Vanessa and smiled.
"Hey, thanks for inviting me! I really miss being with friends..." she sighed as her depression crashed in on her. She took a steadying breath and turned her body to face her friend. Vanessa was a great friend. Kelsey loved talking to her.
