Kat watched as her brother left early in the morning to go to Germany for business meeting. After waving her brother away, Kat walked back into the house – or a small mansion rather – and went to the kitchen, grabbing a cup of hot chocolate and went to the living room, where the huge TV was hid under an electronic door.
Kat and Jake lived in a huge house – it had 10 bedrooms besides the ones Kat and Jake used, with one bathroom to every two of the guests bedrooms. There was a huge kitchen, a dining hall, the living room with a huge flat TV and computers and other every-day stuff, a huge two-story library, a huge ballroom with state-of-the-art music center and 2 offices, which were both used by Jake. There was also a huge attic, filled with all kinds of stuff from carneval clothes to souvenirs to everything else one could think off. Not to include the huge balcony and some smaller ones for 6 guests bedrooms. And a huge hall with a wide stairs, that split into two in the middle, although the led to the same corridor.
Kat watched the TV for quite some time, then glancing at her watch, Kat decided that it was late enough, so she headed out towards the front electric gate to meet Carole there.
Kat was wearing light-brown hiking-boots, jeans and a red-green checkered blouse, which was a little country style.
Kat whistled for their dog – Titan – so he would join her at the walk to he gate. Titan was only 3 years old and although neither Jake nor Kat knew his breed – he had just appeared at their doorstep, half-dead 2 years ago, but his back reached Kat’s waist-line easily.
Kat and Titan walked slowly towards the gate, playing on the way – the drive-way from the gate to the house was bout 350 meters. Seeing as Carole wasn’t there yet, Kat throw a stick to Titan for bout half an hour, when a car stopped in front of the gate and Carole climbed out.
“Morning!” Kat shouted happily with a wave stepping to the electrical gates and typing the code in manually, so the gate opened with a silent buzz, “Come on in. Don’t be afraid of Titan – he is big, but friendly unless you physically threaten me. He’ll just sniff you for a moment and that’s all.”
Kat smiled watching as Titan bounded over to Carole and quickly sniffed her hand, before the dog trotted off somewhere: “He won’t bother you anymore, unless he is desperate for a pet. Come on – you can leave your stuff inside and then we can see what else to do. Jake left this morning, so the house is completely ours.”
Kat smiled and stepping forward took one of Carole’s bags: “We have to walk for a bit to reach the house though. Then you have to choose which bedroom you want.” Kat pointed to the huge house made of red-bricks, that seemed warmed and homely and had flowers growing all around it with vines edging over the walls between windows.
