Jordan looked up into the sun, her hand over her eyebrows so she wouldn't get blinded and wouldn't be able to see. With one swift movement, she tucked some hair behind her ear and sighed before turning and walking back down the street from the park. The sound of her chuck taylors slapping against the wet pavement made her giggle lightly and start to run. She slid down a driveway and twirled on a light pole before making her way to the Glass house.
She hummed under her breath as she tapped her foot to the beat that was stuck in her head and smiled at the memory of the dance her and Jason Roswick had made up when they were younger. It was her 2nd grade year, she was 7 and he 8. It started with a cartwheel, which Jordan did now, and then jazz hands. She did a roundalph and landed on one knee, her arms up in the air in a "ta da!" pose.
Clapping sounded in the distance and Jordan stood up so abruptly that she hit her head on a near by flower pot. Rubbing the top of her scalp, she looked behind her and nearly fell over at the site before her. Jason Roswick stood, leaning against a wall of a house lazily and was smiling broadly at her. She tilted her head, and shook it after realizing she wasn't hallucinating. Without a word, she turned on her heel and walked back to the Glass house.
"Jordan! Hey! Jordan! Wait up!" His voice followed her, she sighed and stopped before crossing her arms and looking at him with angry eyes. He ran and caught up to her, and hugged her. Jordan hit him and squirmed out of his grasp. Jason looked at her as if he was hurt, and put up his hands to say he surrendered. All Jordan did was roll her eyes and shake her head at him.
"What are you doing here?" She asked in a tone of annoyance that she used on most of her friends. Jason smiled and crossed his own arms. He hadn't changed much. His brown hair still hung in his bright green eyes and it was still the same length as in the picture he had sent her two years ago. The only thing different bout him, was he had an earring in his ear and a tease in his smile.
"I moved back. Aren't you happy to see me?" Jason answered. Jordan laughed out loud at that. She wouldn't say happy. She was no where near happy, considering the way he had left when he turned 10. Just no note, no phone call, just a box of her things on his front porch and a picture to remember him by. Jordan turned on her heel again and finished the walk to her house, but not before saying..
"Oh yeah, thrilled. Come in and say hi to Chris, he's been dying to see you again. Besides, there's someone I want you to meet." She then opened the door and tossed her shoulderbag on the chair next to the front door and walked into the living room where Katie sat watching t.v. Jason just stood in the doorway, awkward.

Katie bounced up the stiars with a little spring to her step and she hummed lightly to herself. She danced around in the space she had walking to the thrid flour to record her favorite song in the world. Katie long brown hair twirled with her as she twirled around. There was a smile on the eleven year olds face that was larger than life and that could make anyone smile even the toughest person. Katie always had that affect on people and she danced gracfully to her music. Her guitar strap lay on her shoulder and she danced around. She always wished that some day she could become a star and be well known. She opened the day to the recording room lightly and she peeked in to make sure Justin wasnt in there. She sighed with relief and skipped into the room and sat down on the stoll and put the microphone infront of her and she closed her air and with a strum she start to sing.
"Once upon a time there was a girl In her early years she had to learn How to grow up living in a war that she called home Never knew just where to turn for shelter from the storm
It hurt me to see the pain across my mother's face Every time my father's fist would put her in her place Hearing all the yelling I would cry up in my room Hoping it would be over soon
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same And I still remember how you kept me so afraid Strength is my mother for all the love she gave And every morning that I wake I look back at yesterday And I'm OK
I often wonder why I carry all this guilt When it's you that helped me put up all these walls I've built Shadows stir at night through a crack in the door The echo of a broken child screaming, please no more Daddy don't you understand the damage you have done For you it's just a memory, but for me it still lives on
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same And I still remember how you kept me so, so afraid Strength is my mother for all the love she gave Every morning that I wake I look back at yesterday
It's not so easy to forget All the marks you left along her neck When I was thrown against cold stairs And everyday afraid to come home In fear of what I might see next
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same And I still remember how you kept me so afraid Strength is my mother for all the love you gave And every morning that I wake I look back at yesterday And I'm OK
I'm OK" Katie sang with her most powerful voice that could make anyone cry. Her hands strumed down and she smiled as she finshed her song. "Owe I liked that." Katie said hoping off the stoll and dancing over towards the CD and she picked up up and put it in her CD player and started to play her mix along with other songs on it as well.
Katie turned the bottom of her clear blue CD player and played the song She Will Be Loved and dancing to the melody while walking out of the room and down the stairs. "Beauty queen of only eighteen She had some trouble with herself He was always there to help her She always belonged to someone else
I drove for miles and miles And wound up at your door I've had you so many times but somehow I want more" Katie sang outloud not noticing Chris looking at her strangly. Katie jumped as he came from behind her and hugged her. "Chris let go! you scared me." Katie siad laughing and runing towards the living room. She liked to play chase but Chrs didnt seem to wont to play. With a sigh Katie sat down on the big overstuffed couch and turned on the tv. She flipped through the channal and then she dropped the controller at Jordan. "Jordan! Jordan! Jordan! you cut your hair oh my gosh! whose that? oh my gosh you cut your hair!" Katie proclaimed almost bouncing off the walls with engery. She was back to her old moof self.

Jordan nearly jumped as Katie started going off about her hair. She had cut it, last week and Amelia had really been the only one who had seen it since then, Jordan always wore it in a hat or something to hide the shortness. She smiled and took the remote off the ground, waving her hand to motion Jason in.
"Yes, I cut it. It was time for a change. This," Jordan said as she pointed at Jason who was sitting down in a chair near the window, "is Jason Roswick. My old very old friend from way back when. For some odd and unsuspecting reason he has moved back from wherever he went and expects me to be extremely happy that he showed up again. Though, I must say I'm not. Jason, this is Katie Davenport, my sister." Jordan sighed and started to flip through the television channels. Jason smiled, then rethinking what Jordan had just said, sat up straight.
"Since when do you have a sister?" He asked in amazement. Jordan gigled and turned the television off, she squeezed the pillow she was holding and rested her chin on the top of it. Of course, having to explain the whole Katie thing would mean a night with Jason, and she really didn't want that.
"We adopted her this year. She's my sister, and one of my bestest- friends. We've been through all my and her drama together." Jordan answered with a smile at Katie, only she would understand what Jordan meant. And that was definitly a good thing. Just at that moment, when Jason was bout to say something, Justin entered the living room with such force that he nearly plowed Jordan over to get to his X-Box.
"Oi! Reject! Don't you see we have a visitor?!" Jordan exclaimed as she pushed her brother off the couch in which he had thrown himself onto in his expedition for his X-Box. He slid off without ease and landed on the floor with a plop on his back. Looking up at Jason, he slowly smiled and jumped up. He nearly tackled Jason, and stopped short.
"My man! What are you doing back here?!" Justin asked as they gave each other high fives and laughed. Jordan rolled her eyes as she realzied where this was going, down memory lane. Standing up, she pulled Katie with her and dragged her into the kitchen where she could talk without the interupptions.
"That, was Jason. I liked him for the longest time. Then one day, he leaves a box of my things on his front porch and a picture, he had moved. No bye or anything. Just, poof! He's gone! So I'm not exactly thrilled that he's back..." She explained in a hushed whisper so the two boys wouldn't hear her.

Katie than looked at the boy and turned her head to the right slightly and then smiled. This was gonna be fun but then she remembered Chris took her pranking tools away. "Cure the powder beard of Merlin!" Katie proclaimed out loud and she turned her head at the boy and her eyes widden in shock. Would he play chase with her? Katie than turned turned Jordan as she looked at her. "Yes yes yes alot...... aww Justin there you are man people think I am crazy in this house but really my heart belongs a four year old." Katie said with a large smile on her face and looked at the two boys high five. She also rolled her eyes and looked at the TV and wondered what to watch. "Oi Jordan stop it on this channal, YAH! FOOTBALL!" Katie screamed out loud and stodd up from her chair with her arms in the air. She twiled around but then stoped and feel on the ground as she spinned to much. She felt dizzy and then was pulled into the kitchen.
"Aw you liked the boy hmm i wonted to prank him but I will recondier it now." Katie said with a wink and she put her CD in the stero and start to play it. She than turned it up and started to dance. "I love music." Katie said but then stopped and groaned at Chris as he turned it off. "Katie you know not to turn it up that loud remember the cops coming at three in the morning to stop the music." Chris told Katie with a annoyance look. Katie sighed and then looked up at Jordan and tackled her to the ground. "Sister! Sister! Sister! owe I like the changes tis fun!" Katie said with a smile and she ran around the house hopign that some one will play chase with her.

Jordan snorted. Like she cared if Katie pranked Jason. If Jordan felt like it, she would have done it. But, something sparked her when she saw Jason again. Like, maybe it could be like old times. But she knew it couldn't. One) she went to Hogwarts and was a witch now, and two) she didn't want it to be like old times, where she liked him...that would be too...unbearable. Jordan followed Katie out into the living room as she bounced around from wall to wall. She was like a dog, a very energetic dog, and by the look on Jason's face he was getting pretty scared. Jordan smiled at the thought and memory of her friend being bit by his dog and crying for five hours straight. She tilted her head at the good laughs she had at him.
Sitting down on the couch she watched as Justin talked to Jason, but Jason wasn't paying any attention. He was staring at Jordan, every now and then Jordan would turn to look at him but, he would quickly look away and pretend to be interested in Justin's ramblings of everyday school life. If only Jordan could tell him about Hogwarts! But, maybe she wouldn't have to...because, by the time Jordan was tuned back in...Justin was going off about this incredible school she went to, and Jason was very interested.
"Oh! He's talking about my boarding school. Katie goes there also. It's really amazing. They teach so many things, you couldn't dream of, Jason!" Jordan cut in as her brother almost said the word magic. Justin looked at Jordan confused, but then seemed to catch on. He smiled and nodded in agreement.

Katie troted back into the living room and sat back down in the big over stuffed chair. There was a smile on her face that could make anyone glow inside. With a sigh Katie turned the channals of the tv and tried to find some thing that might calm her down. She held the black contoller on her hands and clicked her way through the channals. She would only stay on the channal once but then changed it a second after. With a heavy sigh Katie just left it at a channal she didnt know. It was spainsh and she looked at the tv and squrinted her eyes. She knew that Rosa knew spanish and Jordan and Chris but she didnt know a single word. She changed the channal again and listen to Justin talk about his regular muggle school. Katie listen intently about the teachers and remembered all the subjects. She wasnt a bright girl and normaly got C on her report cards. Katie sighed as she remembered Muggle schools and how she got bad grades and her father would hit her for it.
As Justin was about to talk about Hogwarts Katie was just about to hit the man for saying it. They werent suppose to talk about it with people who werent in there familys. With a sigh of relief Katie nodded her head at Jordan and there was glint of light in her eyes, "Yes boarding school hmmmm tis fun at times and then at times its is not." Katie said and brushed her hair away and looked up at the tv and continued to change the channal.

Jordan smiled and wrapped her arms around her knees as she watched television with Katie. She didn't even notice Jason stand up and walk over to her until he bent down and whispered in her ear. Her brown eyes looked up at his and sighed as he pulled away. His eyes were pleading and she couldn't say no.
"Okay, Katie I'll be right back." Jordan said as she stood up and followed Jason outside. She closed the door behind her and looked up at the boy in front of her. With one sigh she pulled him into the back garden. Jason smiled at her as he looked along the hedges, he seemed to be thinking about something. There was an awkward silence, and when it was broken they both spoke at the same time. Jordan laughed lightly and sat down on a bench as Jason continued to talk.
"I missed you Jo."He said quietly, almost a whisper as he sat down next to her. Jordan sighed and lowered her head, scratching the back of her neck in awkwardness. He had called her Jo, something no one but he had ever called her. Something about his voice made her remember the nights when she would sneak into his room by way of the tree in his backyard and sit on his windowsill and talk to him.
"Yeah right, which is why you dumped all my stuff on your front porch without a word and left? Jase, I just can't believe that. Why are you back here anyway?" Jordan stood up and started to pace the garden, her fingernails at her teeth and being bitten in anticipation. The dark blue arm warmers were making her arms hot, but she wouldn't allow her secret to be revealed to Jason.
"I came back because, I missed you...and I thought, that we could...you know.."He answered with a slight tone of amusement. Jordan scoffed at this and shook her head in irritation. She shot him a glare that killed like a thousand knives. Jason lowered his head at this, he was all too familiar with that look, considering Jordan had given it to him many many times before.
"What?! So you think you can come back here, and and sweep me off my feet?! AGAIN?! Hah! I can't BELIEVE YOU JASON MICHAEL ROSWICK!" Jordan yelled. Birds flew out of the hedges and flew into the setting sun that was slowly falling behind the shadey figure of Jordan. Her arms were crossed tightly over her chest and her hair was flying lightly in the wind, her brown eyes were very dark in the setting light and she looked like she was about to raise hell on Earth.
