Jordan hung up the last streamer, the gold and scarlet crepe paper intertwined to make a pretty swirl, that framed the doorway to the basement/apartment. She stepped back to admire her work. Justin came and stood next to her, smiling down at his sister.
"You've done good, Jordan. You've done well. Far better than I could have done." He told her with a teasing smile. She punched him playfully in the arm and looked over her shoulder at Chris, who was rearranging the punch bowls. She rolled her eyes, it was the fifth time he had done that with the bowls.
"Oi! Chris! Stop! They look fine!" Jordan called out to him, he smiled sheepishly and stepped away from the treats table, but headed over to the stereo. Jordan laughed and looked at the clock. In one hour, Katie would arrive. And Jordan couldn't wait. She was on the balls of her feet, just ready to scream with joy as she saw her new sister enter her new house.
A lot had happened over the past two months. Katie and Jordan had become, best of friends. Almost closer than Jordan and Dillion were. Katie told Jordan about her house life, and how much it sucked. And Jordan, being the kind hearted soul she is, offered her home to Katie. It didn't take long for Chris Cortes, and Chris Davenport to accept to the proposition, and for Katie to become part of the Cortes family.
So, on this night, Jordan, Chris, and Justin were all making the house look wonderful and welcoming to Katie. So she would feel at home once she stepped inside. No more sad Christmas', nor birthdays, Thanksgivings, or Halloweens. Katie was part of the family now, and they were going to welcome her with open arms.

Katie ran from her room down the marble stairs with her back pack slumping against her back. She than reached the door and she saw her father. She than stopped where she was frozen in place staring wide eyed at him. She could smell the faint beer smell and she could see the bootle. Her heart started to skip and she started to breathe hard.
Her father than took a couple steps forward to her and threw the beer bottle at her. She could feel a sharp cut on her arm and she trook out big piece of glass. Tears were in her eyes as she could feel the stinging on her palms. She than walked backwards but she felt someone grab hold her backpack and she was dragged outside by her hair. She held her head high as she felt her hair almost coming out. He than kicked her and she landed by the car. She than opened the door quikly and jumped in and the car took off.
As she sat down she held her hurt palm in her hand and the blood was all over her hand. She held back strong tears. The car finally stoped and she got out and walked up to the door. She rang the doorbell and she tried to hide her hand from Jordan, Justin, and Chris. She didnt wont them to worry.

Jordan practically jumped at the doorbell. With a nervous smile shot at Justin, she made her way to the big oak door. She threw it open, literally, and smiled at Katie. But, that smile soon faded when she saw blood on Katie's arm. Pulling her inside she flipped her arm over and saw a cut.
"Chris! Get Rosa!"Jordan called, pulling Katie deeper inside the glass house and sitting her down on a chair. Pretty soon Chris came back with Patricia, Jordan glared at him.
"No, not Pat. Rosa."She said calmly, though her anger was boiling inside her.
"Pat is a nurse Jordan." Chris said, with that same calm voice. Jordan stamped her foot and looked at her brother with fire red eyes.
"I don't care, if she is a nurse. I only trust Rosa with Katie. Get me Rosa!" Jordan practically yelled. Chris sighed and looked down at his feet, Jordan raised an eyebrow.
"She quit yesterday." He told her. Jordan's eyes teared and she pulled Katie upstairs to her room, planning to heal her there. How could Rosa quit? Why would she quit? She knew Jordan needed her...right?

Tears were down her eyes and she noticed Pat and how Jordan glared at her.
"I don't......." Katie tried to say but she couldnt. She didnt know what to say. Rose had quit but why? Jordan really needed her and Katie could tell in her sisters eyes.
As she was in Jordans room she put her hand behind her back again. She didn't wont to make a fuss about it, it was only a little cut not deep.
"Jordan........ sorry I wish I stayed her instead of retuened back home. This would of never happen" Katie said with tears in her eyes. The stinging in her palms hurt really badly and she had been holding back the tears trying not to make a fuss about it.
"I can't belive Rosa quit why?" Katie said Jordan looking at her with her light green eyes. She was really confused now and who was this Pat person.

"Probably because, Rosa loves Chris and he's engaged to Patricia. Ugh, the ugly sleeper." Jordan said as she searched for her first aid kit. When she found it she brought it out and placed it on the bed. Looking at Katie, waiting for her to let Jordan see her arm.
"And you know what, I don't even think Rosa quit, I think Pat fired her." Jordan added, as she pulled out some gauze.

Katie eye widen in shock about Pat firing Rosa. How could someone be more stupit to do that. She extanded her arm for Jordan to heal it. There were also more burises on her arm and she wished she didn't let Jordan have her arm.
"If Pat did we have to have proff." Katie said. She than got out her back pack and took out the extandable ears she had found in the boys dorm. She winked at Jordan for her idea.
"Found these babies in the Gryffindor boys dormintars. I snucked up there to see if Fred and George left behind any special presnt and they did. Too bad I was caught." Katie said with a frown and handed the extandable ears to Jordan. She fixed them a bit so they can turn in invisable when people walk by and hear up to 50 miles away.

Jordan wrapped the gauze around Katie's arm, then took the ears. She laid down on the floor and slipped then end underneath the door crack. The ears extended to Chris' and Pat's room. They were talking in hushed voices.
"Chris I had to.." Pat was saying, as if defending herself.
"Why though? You knew how much Jordan loved Rosa.."Chris responded, Jordan could hear her father in his voice.
"Because I was afraid you would fall in love with her, as she did you.." Jordan didn't need to hear anymore. She pulled back the ears and looked at Katie, a tear on her cheek.

Katie than took the ears back and placed them in her back pack she didn't wont to lose them. She than looked up at her sister face as a tear went down her check, this meant bad news.
"She did fire Rosa! HOW COULD SEE! we will get her back don't you worry Jordan. I am going to invent a new candy just for Pat." Katie said with a wink. She she wipped the tear away with her good hand on Jordans face.
She than took out her supllies she was thinking about either truth potion or the potion she made up that turned people into mad people. She than looked up at Jordan as in need for help. Jordan knew what she wonted to do to Pat and it would be funny to watch.

((Hope I'm allowed in here...))
Ivy rounded the final corner to Jordan's house. She could see it now. Jordan had complained about it. It was huge. Absolutely huge. And seemed to be made entirely out of glass. It wasn't quite as imposing as Katie's old house, but it was still ... huge.
Ivy walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. Katie Anne Cortes... it had a ring to it. Ivy stood there, hoping to see both her friends very shortly. She doubted that Katie would be aware of the surprise party that was about to ensue.

Jordan rolled her eyes, Pat was mean sure, but, Jordan couldn't bring herself to do anything so cruel to her...after all, Chris did love the insuferrable beast. The doorbell then rang and Jordan made her way downstairs. She opened the door and smiled at Ivy.
"Hey! You're the second to arrive, little did I know that this party wouldn't be a surprise...Katie came before anyone else." Jordan said as she led Ivy through the entry hall.
"You can put your jacket on a chair or something. Do you want anything to drink?" Jordan asked with a smile as she entered the kitchen.

Ivy smiled guiltily at Jordan.
"Sorry," she said, "trains just aren't reliable." She always seemed to travel by train. It allowed her her freedom. Although recently she'd had more of that than perhaps she would have liked.
Ivy followed Jordan through and was amazed by how light it was inside. She knew that Jordan hated it. Maybe you just always ended up hating something to do with your existence, however good it was in other people's eyes.
"Something to drink would be lovely," she said, putting her wool coat and blue cotton scarf down on a chair.
"Is Katie aware that her friends are turning up?" Ivy asked Jordan.
((Actually, we're not going to be able to continue this post much without Katie, are we?))

((I don't know. If not then I can put this post on hold. I hope she get's better soon, I don't like her being sick...she's all...sad.))
Jordan shook her head no to Ivy's question. No, she didn't think Katie knew that people were going to arrive. Of course, you could never tell with Katie. Jordan pulled out two glasses and a bag of ice, facing Ivy and handing her one of the glasses.
"No, I don't think so...though, you never know. She should be down here soon, she had a cut on her arm...I had to put a bandage over it, then do some eavesdropping on my brother and future sister-in-law." Jordan explained, as she pulled out the 2 liter plastic bottles of soda. She turned the bottles so the label's faced Ivy.
"We have, rootbeer, and pepsi. Sorry there isn't anything great here like butterbeer, blame my brother's. That's what I do." She said with a sincere smile, she then took the rootbeer bottle, unsrewed the cap and poured the brown liquid into the glass filled with ice. She closed the bottle, and placed it back on the counter. Jordan then thought back to what Ivy had said when she had first entered the house, trains.
"You came here by train? How far away do you live?" Jordan asked, taking a sip of the foming soda, her eyes wide in wonder. She surely didn't mean anyone to travel by train to her house.
