BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ! The ever-annoying noise of an alarm clock woke Savannah up and she rolled over in bed and hit her clock several times before finally hitting the snooze button. Fumbling around her bed she found her bear Snowy by her pillow and pulled the bear close as she tried to drift back to sleep. What could only have been seconds passed when Savannah was again jolted with the constant buzzing of her clock. With a disgusted sigh she flipped the alarm off and kicked off her covers. Groggily she rolled out of bed and walked over to her mirror and began to brush her long black hair. In short time she had changed into a pair of baggy black pants and a red T-shirt. After tying her shoes she grabbed a black overcoat and headed towards the living room.
Savannah now sat in the blue cushion chair in her living room half asleep. The clock on the wall read 7:30 in the morning. By far this was the earliest Savannah had ever been up since leaving Hogwarts for the summer. With her eyes drooping she turned on the TV and tried to find something interesting to keep her awake until the others arrived. Soon her friends would arrive and they’d be off. They had decided to venture off towards a local amusement park, naturally Savannah had objected to going on the weekends as it would have been bloody crowded, and the others knew full well how she hated crowds. Now as she sat awake at the crack of dawn one Wednesday morning she tried to prepare herself for the long trip ahead of them.
The woman on the TV gave a weather report that seemed quite good, cloudy all day, not too hot. Flipping stations more she found music videos. Her attempt to turn up the volume to hear the music was drowned out by a loud BANG that came from the fireplace. Setting down the remote she looked over to see who had arrived.

Kimberly could hardly contain herself as she frantically ran about her house looking for things. The fact that no one else was awake yet did little to help calm her nerves as she tore through her school bag and her trunk looking for her muggle coin purse. So far she had found three of her old coin purses from school, and all together they all had about 7 galleons in them. As she really didn’t see why she should have to buy another one, she had placed all three of them under her bed so that she wouldn’t ever forget where they were again. Still she needed pounds today, not galleons and she had no clue as to it’s whereabouts. Slumping into a recliner chair she pouted, the solemn tick tick of the clock on the wall ate away at her as she racked her brain.
A sudden noise from the hallway drew her attention and a grin appeared on her face as she heard the noise continue, someone was up and walking! Practically jumping out of the chair Kim darted towards the hallway and peered around the corner in time to see her mum coming towards her. “Mummy! Where’s my money!?” Kim eagerly asked, her mum knew everything that happened in that house, if there was something missing she could find it! With a sigh, Lisa Sullivan tugged at the strings on her nightgown as she walked past her daughter and into the living room, straight to the fireplace. “On… the… fireplace…” she said in the midst of a yawn. “Thanks mum!” Kim said as she grabbed her money purse and stuffed it into her shorts’ pocket. “Bye mum!” She then said as she stepped into the fireplace and grabbed some Floo Powder.
“Kimmy!” Lisa said as she quickly walked to the fireplace and pulled Kim out. “It’s not even 7 o’clock yet! Your friend said to meet her at 7:30! Now go sit down and wait.” “Oh yea!” Kim said as she stuffed the Floo Powder into the tin again and stepped back into the living room and sat back down on the couch. Tick-tock went the clock as it seemed to be mocking her, it had something to do while Kim had to merely sit and wait for something to do. Looking down at her white shoes with rainbow colored laces, she knelt down and untied them, then tied them again and for good measure she double knotted both shoes. Sitting back up the clock now read 7:04. While sitting there listening to the clock mock her, Kim tried to think of anything else she might possibly need, then it suddenly hit her! Sun screen!
Kim once more bolted from her chair and ran towards the bathroom. Flinging open the medicine cabinet she peered in looking for sunscreen. At the very back of the cabinet she found some old sunscreen, it was called Berry Blast Screen. Taking the bottle back to her bedroom she sat on her bed and popped open the tube and squeezed but naught came out. Rolling the tube up some more she squeezed harder and this time a giant glob of blue paste squirted out and onto her pink shorts. Setting the bottle down she scooped the paste quickly off her shorts before they left a mark and began to rub the lotion on her legs, arms, face and neck. Happily satisfied that she was now protected, she closed the bottle and went back to the bathroom to look in the mirror to make sure she didn’t have any blotches left. Her reflection in the mirror was not what she had anticipated however. Instead of her usual face looking back at her, she was now blue! She looked like a blue girl wearing a white shirt!
Back down the hallway Kim ran towards the kitchen and where her mom was. “Mum!” Kim cried as she ran in the kitchen. Lisa Sullivan who was busy making breakfast took one look at her daughter and simply put both hands to her face as she shook her head from side to side. “I don’t even want to know Kim” she said as she took her wand and waved it in Kim’s direction, in short time Kim was back to her normal color. “Mum I didn’t do it on purpose!” Kim interjected as she was changing colors, “I just put the sun screen on! It was that berry blue one, I didn’t know I was going to turn blue!” While she was offering her explanation the clock struck, quickly spinning around she found it to be 7:30! “Got to go now mum! Bye!” Kim exclaimed as she sprinted towards the fireplace, grabbed Floo Powder and tossed it down. In a burst of green flames she was no longer in her living room but another living room. The sounds of music hit her ears as she stepped out into a big living room. Over on the couch she could see someone stirring and then looking over at her. “Hi Savannah!” Kim said happily as she ran over to the couch and jumped while spinning in the air to land on the couch cushion. “Did you eat yet? I didn’t, I’m hungry though, my mum was making breakfast but I left before she was done so can we stop somewhere and eat? Oh and why are you wearing those big pants they look too big don’t they fall down if they’re too big? This one time I had to wear my brother’s Hogwarts robes because I spilt juice on all of my robes, but they were super big because he’s a 7th year you know and so I had to roll them up about like 5 times so I could walk and then I kept tripping because they kept falling down again.” Taking a break she looked at the TV that was showing a video, “OH I like videos! Who’s this?” she asked as she reached over Savannah trying to grab the remote to up the volume.

Valerie walked towards her sister’s room and found the door was slightly ajar. Slowly pushing it opened she quietly walked in and found her sister at her computer. “Are you ready yet?” Valerie asked as she walked over and looked at the computer. Karina was busy looking at the website for the park they were going to be going to today. “I want to go on all these rides!” Karina emphatically stated as she clicked on pictures of the most vicious rides the park had to offer. “We need to go now” Valerie replied as she turned and lead the way downstairs to the living room. Proceeding to the living room Valerie took up a handful of Floo Powder and waited for Karina to arrive.
Karina was 13 but hadn’t been accepted into Hogwarts. Though she was greatly upset by that she has come to grip with the fact that she won’t be a witch. After a bout of depression she has come around lately and been more active again. Valerie had tried to spend as much time with her as possible while on vacation and taking her on this trip was something they’d both enjoy. After she had been informed that Kim would be going on the trip too, Valerie simply told Karina that she had to come. In the past she had gotten along well with Kim despite the fact that one could never really hold a true conversation with Kim.
Soon Karina joined her at the fireplace. “Bye mom” Valerie said as she waved then dropped the powder into the fireplace. The green flames engulfed them both and whisked them away to Savannah’s home. Once the flames had subsided Valerie and Karina emerged from the fireplace only to hear Kim jabbering on and on, from the looks of it Savannah was about to pass out for boredom. With a smile Valerie walked over and sat down on the couch while Karina simply stood next to her. Kim seemed to be wrestling for the TV remote, “Hello” Valerie said as she watched Kim’s antics.

Savannah rolled her eyes as Kim entered her home doing nothing but talking as typical of her. “Oh God” Savannah thought, it was way to early to be hearing all of this, how on Earth did the Hufflepuffs put up with this girl. Also Savannah began to wonder why exactly she had agreed to let this little one come with them today. “Yea Kim, don’t worry we’ll stop for breakfast somewhere. We’ll still have plenty of time to get to the park before it opens, no crowds.” Kim then turned her attention so quick that Savannah had to stop and think at what she had said. Her clothes? Looking down at her pants Savannah made a face at Kim. “My pants are fine Kim, I like them this way.” Savannah narrowed her eyes as she looked at Kim who immediately went into a story about her having to wear her brother’s robe once. “Duh Kim”, Savannah said with a smirk, “how could you possibly wear his robe and not have it huge” she then patted Kim on the top of her head.
Apparently though her remark had not even gotten into Kim’s register as her attention was diverted to the TV. “That’s Jewel Kim” she said quite disgusted, “Maybe you should pay attention more instead of talking, you’ll probably learn a lot from the VJ’s.” As Kim made a grab for the remote, Savannah grabbed it first and held it in her left hand which she extended fully away from Kim. Before she could say anything else though another loud BANG came from the fireplace. Turning around she saw Valerie and her little sister. Clicking the TV off with her remote Savannah set it on the coffee table and got up from the couch. “We better get going, we’ll stop at the pancake house before we get going though.” Picking up her car keys she waved the others to follow her. Through the kitchen she went and opened a door by the back pantry which led to the garage. Hitting the alarm on her key-chain, the doors unlocked. “Valerie, you get shotgun” Savannah immediately said as she opened the driver’s door, there was absolutely no way she would put up with Kim sitting next to her the whole time. She could sit in back with Valerie’s sister, they seemed to get along well enough anyway. Her hope was to play her music so loud that Kim’s voice would be drowned out.
When everyone was ready turned on the engine and stared up a CD. Naturally she upped the volume quite a bit and faded it so that most of it would go to the back of the car. “I feel bad for your sister” Savannah said as she watched Kim in the rear view mirror. The drive to the pancake house took less than 10 minutes. Walking into the restaurant it was pretty crowded, much to Savannah’s distaste. Patiently she waited at the front for someone to seat them.

“Jewel, I know her!” Kim said as she watched the woman on the TV singing. “I like this song a lot!’ Kim happily said while reaching over Savannah trying to get the remote. With little luck she soon gave up but soon Valerie and Karina arrived. “Hey guys! Look it’s Jewel! I like this song too! Valerie remember a few months ago and I was going to Charms and I saw you and I was singing? I was singing this song! This is a cool video too I’ve never seen it before I don’t think. Hey!” Kim saw the TV flicker off and Savannah get up. “Yay! Pancakes house! I love that place! I like to get the pigs in blankets! That’s so good! The French toast is good too though, oh and I really like the hash browns! That comes with most the stuff but sometimes it doesn’t so you have to get them as a side order.” Kim spoke the whole time they were walking to the garage about food and her favorite dishes.
Entering the garage she saw Savannah’s car. “Ooh! It’s pretty! I want a car like this when I get older. Of course my brother has one but I’m too young to drive. My mom says I can’t have a car though, not until I’m more responsible she always says. I keep asking her what I do that is not responsible, but she just says I ought to know by now.” As the alarm was turned off Kim smiled, “shotgun!” She yelled but Savannah had already called it for Valerie. Climbing into the back seat with Karina she buckled her safety belt and listened to the music, which seemed to be getting louder. “Savannah, who is this?” She asked but the music drowned her voice. “Savannah! SAVANNAH!!” Kim hollered, but it was no use. “Do you know who this is?” Kim asked as she tapped Karina’s arm.
When they entered the restaurant the sweet aroma of pancakes filled Kim’s senses as her mouth began to water. “I’m hungry... I hope we get a table soon” she said while looking at a poster of today’s specials.
