"I am so bored," Liam said to his grandfather. "I can't wait for the fall term to begin." "Cheer up, Liam. I'm sure someone will come to vist you," his grandfather replied. "I don't know, Grandfather. I just wish I had a brother or sister to hang out with sometimes, or that mom and dad were still here," Liam said looking out the window, though not seeing much since it was night out and it was raining.

A new day had begun in the Angelus Manor, and Liam was in a hurry to get dressed and go and have some fun. After putting on his black jeans and shirt, he quickly put his socks on and went looking for his boots.
After searching for a few minutes, Liam heard his grandfather calling to him.
"Liam, what are you doing?" his grandfather asked sounding worried.
"I'm looking for my boots, have you seen them?" Liam replied quickly, knowing that his grandfather hated it when someone didn't reply when asked a question.
"You left them by the front door," his grandfather said. "You should start putting htem in your room so you don't forget."
"I will Grandfather," Liam said as he rushed down the stairs. As he put his boots on, Liam asked, "Could I borrow some money?"
"I guess you can, here," his grandfather said as he gave Liam a sack of money.
"Thanks, Grandfather, I'm going to the Leaky Cauldron and then Diagon Alley. I'll be home later."
"Have fun, and stay out of trouble."

When Liam returned home that night, he found his home empty, all except for the house elves that worked for his famly. Liam called for one of them and waited for their arrival. "Where is my grandfather?" Liam asked the house elf that greeted him with a treat.
"Your grandfather sir? He left a few hours ago sir. He left a note for you, I'll go and fetch it for you sir," the house elf said as he disappeared.
While Liam waited for the house elf to return, he took his boots off and threw them aside. He then went up the grand staircase and to his room. A few moments later the house elf returned.
"Here you is Liam sir. I gots your drandfathers note like you asked."
"Very good," Liam said. "Go and start dinner." As the house elf left, Liam opened the letter his grandfater left for him, and read it to himself.
'I will be going away for awhile. I don't know when I will return, so you will have to stay at Hogwarts over the holidays. If all goes well, I should have what I'm looking for when you return home after school lets out for the summer. Remember to behave yourself at school, I don't want any letters about how you wee making problems, do you understand? Be good, Grandfather.'
'Great,' Liam thought. 'I'll be stuck at school when i would rather be at home. I hope somebody else will be staying over the holidays.'

The next morning was an eventfull one. When Liam woke at six o'clock, he still had to pack his things in his trunk for Hogwarts. He put his jeans in the trunk, followed by some t'shirts. Then he put his boots and tennis shoes in the trunk. After getting his normal clothes in the trunk he then went about putting all of his school clothes in the trunk, followed by his books and other school supplies. After having packed everything in his trunk, he called for a house elf. When the elf arrived, Liam told him to take his things downstairs and place them by the door. Once, the elf had done that, he was to call for someone to take him to the station.
After Liam had finished giving the house elf his instruction, Liam got dressed in the clothes he would wear to the station. Then he went down to the dining room, where he eat his breakfast. Realizing that it was time to go, Liam hurried out of the room towards the front door. The driver was already loading Liam's thinks into the car when Liam walked outside. Liam got in the backseat of the car and waited for the driver to get in and take him to the station. Liam took one last glance at the manor before the car drove off.
'A whole year, it will be a whole year before I return home,' Liam thought as the car turned out of the drive and on to the street.
