Kelsey Maddison sighed as she sat in the old Porch. Her Case Worker, Mrs. Jenkins, was taking Kelsey to a new 'Foster'. A Foster was just a nickname for a Foster Home. She hated these days. Might as well just leave her in that dumb Orphange. These Fosters never worked. The usually thought Kelsey was too old, or too young, or not mature enough, or just too much responsibility. And everytime that happened, Mrs. Jenkins said the same thing:
"It's not you Kesley, it's them," It was like breaking up with a boyfriend. It's not you, it's me! Kelsey sighed and let her forehead rest against the glass of the window. The Case Worker was talking again. Kelsey heavily lifted her head off the window and looked at Mrs. Jenkins.
"Kelsey, I think this one will work!" Kelsey sighed and hit her head against the seat.
"Listen, no it wont! Because they never do!" Kelsey said, exasperated.
"Well yes with that attitude!" the woman started laughing as if she made a joke. Kelsey shook her head and turned on the radio. The rock music pounded through her as she bobbed her head back and forth. Mrs. Jenkins turned off the radio and sternly said:
"Kelsey, i need to tell you about this woman, before we get there!" Kelsey sighed and nodded.
"Ok, whatever,"
"Thank you!" Mrs. Jenkins had been with Kelsey for a long time and she acted like Kelsey was her own responsibility, "Now her name is Janice..." Kelsey toned out again, She hated listening to this rubbish.
A half an hour later, the car stopped and Kelsey reached into the backseat and grabbed her Violin Case and her backpack. She got out of the car and slammed the door shut as she walked with her Case Worker up to the houses. It was a pink house. Kelsey sighed, of course... the woman was the hyper, preppy, loves everybody sort... wasn't she? Kelsey walked with Mrs. Jenkins to the front door... lace curtains in the windows... GAG! Kelsey set her jaw as the door bell rang.

Kelsey sighed again, she was mad; purely pissed! She didn't want to be here! Anywhere but at this "Chick's" house. She took a deep breath and tried not to scream and run when the door opened. The woman, Janice as she said was acually pretty. She had short blonde hair and a slim body, She was wearing a simple pink dress that stopped at mid thigh. kelsey raised her eyebrows at her new Foster Mother's dimpled smile. She then covered her surprise by rolling her deep green eyes.
"Why hullo you must be Kel-" she was cut off by Kelsey, her hand raised and a cocky look on her pretty face.
"Look, chick, I don't want to be here, and I have no idea why you would pick me... so let's skip the formalities and get on with life," Kelsey then looked down at her hand, which she let drop to her side. "Janice" looked shocked, but covered it up after a moment. Kelsey took out her headphones and slipped them on, turning the Rock music pounding through her ears.
"Ok, come in," "Janice" said. Kelsey shrugged and walked into the room. She tried not to scream, IT WAS ALL PINK! She turned to Mrs. Jenkins.
"You... can't... no," she stuttered. She looked around the room and acually screamed. NOT PINK! The couches where a coral color, and the walls a pink tinged white, the lamps had pink lace covering the shades, making the room eliminated with PINK! She turned her shocked and disgusted face back to "Janice" and Mrs. Jenkins.
"I am NOT living here," she said and started out the door, but Janice stopped her with a hand. Kelsey paused and slowly turned her head to look at her.
"Acually you are living here," she said, and icy tinge to her voice.
"Fine," Kelsey said snapping in her face, "But you wont be having a good time," she walked in and turned up her music again. Mrs. Jenkins and Janice laughed nervously and started to talk. Kelsey fell onto the couch with a disgusted look on her face.

Pink... was all she could think of.. pink... it was disgusting how much of it was everywhere. The walls... the couch... the TV! She had a pink cloth laying on top of the jet black TV! Her jaw dropped as she stared at the room.
"Where's my room?" Kelsey interupted Mrs. Jenkins and Janice. Janice turned slowly and coldly pointed at a dark hallway.
"Over there," she said, "second door on the right," her voice was cold and icy now and Kelsey knew she had touched a very deep nerve somehow... although she states, even now, not to care. Deep down Kelsey felt hurt... she accually may like this woman.
She stood up and walked into her room. With a sigh of pure relief she realized that it was all white! No PINK! She smiled and placed her backpack and Violin Case on the queen sized bed. She unzipped it and pulled out the blue blanket that was stuffed in side. She cuddled the fabric and laid the small blue blanket on the bed. She then pulled out a small red box. She sighed and placed the box on the small bedside table and opened it. She checked to make sure the necklace her father left for her was all right, the same for her two rings. The rings had been her parent's wedding rings. They had been given to her along with the necklace after her father had died. She turned back to her backpack and pulled out her clothes. She turned to the wooden dresser and started to put away her few clothes. She looked back inside her backpack and grabbed the last parcel. It was a single white envelope. Her hand shook as she placed the envelope in the top drawer, hiding underneith her shirts.

Kelsey looked up with a start at the sound of someone behind her. She looked behind her and found, to her distaste, Mrs. Jenkins. She shut the drawer with a loud snap and glared at her Case Worker.
"Don;t look at me that way, Kelsey!" Mrs. Jenkins said with a snap. Kelsey sat on her bed and stared at her finger tips. Mrs. Jenkins sighed and sat beside the eleven year old.
"Why can't you at least try to get along with Janice?" the woman asked. Kelsey thought for a moment. Still looking at her fingernails, she nodded. Finally she looked up at Mrs. Jenkins and smiled. The Case worker smiled and hugged Kelsey. Even though Kelsey acted like she hated everything, getting hugs from Mrs. Jenkins was always a nice thing.
"Thank you," Kelsey said as Mrs. jenkins pulled away.
"You're a good kid, Kelsey." she said, "But you have to act like it," she stood and patted Kelsey's head once, then walked out of Kelsey's room, and away from her forever.
Kelsey watched the doorway for a long time, not knowing what to do. Finally she took out her Violin and started to play. She decided to write another song, a song about this new 'Foster'. She turned to her backpack and took out her ntoe book. She flipped to the next expty page and bagan to write lyrics. Then it was time for notes. She would sing a note, and then find it on her Violin, write it down and start on the next set of notes.
