Minerva McGonagall walked down the corridor to her house common room. It was not very often that she entered the common room, only on special occasions such as a Gryffindor win in Quidditch, or when she had to make an announcement. It was the second that she was off to do today regarding the school's Spring Break. "Password" the Fat Lady portrait said with a hint of boredom as she continued to read her book. "Godric" came the swift reply to which the Fat Lady suddenly looked up from her book. "I'm sorry Professor, I didn't realize it was you" said the portrait as she swung open allowing entrance into the common room.
Walking into the common room, Minvera was quite pleased at the state of the room. There was no foul stench or anything that had been smashed recently. No doubt because the Weasley twins were no longer causing havoc. Students were rushing about gather their items for the trip and only a few noticed her entrance.
Making her way across the room she took a seat on a red couch near the fireplace and awaited the arrival of three students, Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Harry woke up from sun light gleaming on his face from a window not to far away from his bed. He reached over to his bedside table and grabbed his glasses. Yawning Harry looked over toward Hedwigs cage. She sat there asleep with a note on her leg. Harry turned his head back to The window, it was open. 'She must have came in during the night.' Harry thought. He walked toward Hedwig's cage and got the letter off of her leg. It was from Professor McGonagall. Harry read it. Wondering why she wanted to see him right before the school left for Spring Break. He got dressed, and put his already packed suitcases on his bed. Harry gave himself a look in the mirror and went on his way down to the Common Room to meet the Professor.
Harry reached the common room. It was filled with people frantically going about there routies, and getting ready. Something Harry should be doing. Walking toward the sitting area he saw the Professor. " Hello there Professor, you wanted to see me?" he said as he took a seat on an empty chair across from McGonagall.

Ron had already packed all of his multifarious items into his trunk, ranging from rubish to his new Nimbus 2003 the night before; he expected to play for the Hogwarts team. That morning, he woke up to find only a few people still packing in the common room. He quickly grabbed Pig (who was twittering like mad) and his trunk and sprinted down the stairs into the common room expecting to see Hermione and Harry waiting for him. "Why do I own such rubbish?" Ron muttered to himself on the way down. But, what he saw surprised him; Professor McGonagall was sitting by the fireplace with Harry. "Good Morning, Professor," greeted Ron as he looked from Harry to McGonagall. "What is it?"

"Potter, Weasley, please sit down" McGonagall said as the pair joined her. "I'll begin since you two are here, I shall just tell Miss Granger later." McGonagall then withdrew a scroll from her pocket and unrolled it with a grim look on her face. Adjusting her glasses she began to read.
-------
Dear Mr. Potter, Mr. Ronald Weasley, Ms. Ginny Weasley and Ms. Granger
In lieu of recent events we at the Ministry of Magic believe that it is in the best interest for Mr. Potter to remain at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where his safety and security can best be assured. Recent events have shown that you-know-who is now targeting the friends of Mr. Potter. As such we must also insist that the close friends should also remain at the school to assure their safety.
Sincerely, Cornelius Fudge Minister of Magic
-----------
Professor McGonagall then rolled up the parchment and handed it to Harry. "I'm terribly sorry, but you will not be going on the Spring Break trip, nor will you be permitted to travel to play Quidditch. The castle will remain open of course during the break, you will be able to go anywhere you are normally allowed to go in the school." McGonagall then stood up and gave a sadden look at each, "I'm terribly sorry, but Headmaster Dumbledore also felt this was the best for your safety as well. Do you have any questions?"

When Ron sat down, Harry shrugged in responce to his question. "Not sure." murdered as he turned his head toward McGonagall as she started to talk.
Harry's jaw dropped when she finished. He was speachless. Quidditch taken away from him! Not Participating in Spring Break! "Your Kidding me! Professor, you know how much Quidditch means to me! And Its the game Right before Salem! I HAVE to Play!" He bellowed, as he insisted he should be allowed to go. Harry's face was full of anger as he watch Professor McGonagall stand up. Harry Clenched his fists as he thought of a fight. He didnt love anything more the Quidditch. Voldemort might try to hurt him while he was out, but Harry wasnt afraid to fight him.
"Professor, Isnt there anything you can do?" he asked as he looked at Ron. He missed the first Quidditch game, and now is missing the second on account of him. "Maybe If I stay with a teacher. Madam Hooch!" "Professor you cant do this!" he roared as he became angery. Harry knew all of his whining wouldnt get him anywhere, but he just had to do something.

Ron heard the unpleasant news in shock, his wide eyes staring disbeleiving at Professor McGonagall as Pig twittered and schreeched in his cage. "You've got to be joking, Professor!" groaned Ron. The school games would have been much more pleasant than inter-house games, since the whole school would be supporting him and he would not have to listen to the Slytherin's taunt him, but now this....

McGonagall had anticipated this sort of reaction and was prepared for it, of course there was nothing she could do to help them. "I assure you both that this is no joke. There is also nothing that I am able to do to assist you in this matter. The Ministry has spoken, so unless you are able to convince the Minister of Magic otherwise, there is nothing that can be done." she then turned and walked out the common room.

Harry glared at McGonagall as she walked off. "This is wrong! This is Just Wrong!" Harry rambled on. he stood up from his seat and walked over toward the fire. "We are going to be the ONLY people stuck in the castle! There is nothing to do there!" he said as she glared into the fire. "Spring Break... and we cant go. Quidditch game, and we cant go." "If we lose, I wont be at the least bit sorry for the team!" Harry steamed. Harry turned around to Ron and said directly. "What can we do here? Nothing? There Must be something."
Harry walked back to his seat, where he sat before when he got the most unpleasent news. That ruined his whole spring break. He rested his head on his hand as he watched people filter out of the Common Room, one by one.
