Up to No Good (Plot People Only Please)

Melantha was quite pleased with her work when she saw a little girl waiting for them by the castle. “Who the devil is that!?” she asked Paige as she took out her wand, prepared to send this person into the lake. Though it soon turned out to be the little Hufflepuff they had talked to earlier. “Oh, it’s you, what do you have for us?” Melantha asked as she walked up to Kim and looked at what she had in her hands. Two were textbooks that belonged to Hermione, they’d be worth a toss into the lake just to annoy that little witch. Grabbing one of the books she looked at it. “Hogwarts, A History” the book read. “How pathetic, she’s been here this long and still carries this stupid book around” Melantha blandly stated as she threw the book onto the ground. She then drew her wand and aimed it at the book “Incendio!” she said and shot several bursts of fire that engulfed the book in a ball of flames. Laughing mildly, Melantha put her wand away and took the second book which she then handed to Paige, “You can have that one” she said. The last item however, proved much more interesting than text books. This next item was a writing journal. Taking it, Melantha flipped through it and found that nearly half of it had been written on. “Nice, I wonder what that witch was writing about, hopefully something personal we can spread through the school.” Melantha then tucked the journal into her bag for future reference.

Turning her head back towards the forest, Melantha pointed over to where Natalia had been thrown. “Oh, that log you say Kim? Well we got bored so we decided to throw that pathetic log into the forest. It was somewhere that it didn’t belong, and well now it ought to learn that it has no business here at Hogwarts.” Melantha then turned back to the castle and walked up the steps away from Kim. “See you around Kim, maybe we can hang out more” she called out as she pushed open the heavy wooden door. “Not bloody likely” Melantha said to Paige as she laughed and walked away towards the Slytherin common room.

Kim watched as the older girls took the books and then walked back into the castle leaving her alone. Looking back over to the dark forest, Kim started to walk that way, if they could play with a log then she could do just the same. As she reached the edge of the forest she peered in and tried to find the log that they had been playing with. Finding only tree trunks and shrubs Kim took a couple more steps in the forest.

As soon as she stepped into the forest she felt a cool rush of cold air and she felt that she was being watched by many eyes. Fighting the urge to go back out, Kim took another two tiny steps into the forest and looked around. It was still very sunny and so she decided to muster up more courage and venture a bit farther into the forest. Taking a few more baby steps, Kim continued but made sure that she could easily see the green grass of the Hogwarts lawn at all times. It wasn't really all that scary, Kim thought as she peered further into the forest. Of course the scary things were probably much farther in than a mere 5 feet.

Feeling rather happy that she had gone this far and not been eaten, Kim decided to return to the common room, there was no need to prove how brave she was, she already did. Doing a little hop, Kim spun around and took two steps towards the grass when she tripped over something and fell to the ground. "Oww!" Kim cried as she looked back at what had tripped her and she saw a shoe out of the corner of her eye. "Hey! What the heck is that shoe doing here!?" Kim wondered as she turned around and then saw Natalia. "What are you doing in here!?" Kim asked as she got up to her feet and shoved Natalia's shoulder. Much to her surprise, Natalia was frozen stiff! "Natalia!" Kim exclaimed as she shoved her again. "HELP!!" Kim cried as she looked back to the grass but saw no one. She was alone, and it was up to her to save Natalia!

Gathering her strength in her tiny body, Kim grabbed Natalia's feet and dragged her the last three feet out of forest and stopped on the soft green grass. There was no way for Kim to get Natalia up Madam Pomfrey by herself, she had to get help. Looking around for someone, anyone she found no one. Sighing, she looked over towards the quidditch pitch and saw the green houses. Professor Sprout! Kim then left Natalia there and ran as fast as she could towards the greenhouse.
